  • A production control information system developed for multi-product, small-lot-sized production is presented. The system is composed of interrelated modules for production planning, shop floor control, and inventory/material management. The architecture of the system, functions of each module, and information processing procedures of each function are discussed.

  • This paper introduces an integration of Product Data Management (PDM) and Software Configuration Management (SCM). PDM and SCM have supported development of mechanical products and software products respectively. The importance of software components in the current products increases rapidly since the software enables the products to satisfy various customer requirements efficiently. Therefore the current product development needs enhanced product data management that can control both the hardware and software data seamlessly. This paper proposes an extended product data model for integrating SCM into PDM. The extension enables PDM document management to support the version control for software development. It also enables engineers to control both the software and hardware parts as integrated data objects during product configuration and engineering change management. The proposed model is implemented by using a commercial Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and a development of a network based robot system is tested by the implemented product development environment.

  • In apparel industry, the worksheet or product specification document has the function of products design. Drawing up worksheet exactly is important to quality control of apparel products. Every company needs to manage the product data of design-centric to establish TQM environment. In order to control the quality data of design-centric, an apparel worksheet system was developed by using the function of product data management system.

  • Because of advanced control technology, Shop floor control system of various kinds of equipment and machinery need a web based remote monitoring to control process efficiently. This paper presents the development of Operation Control System. Operation Control System(OCS) is based on intelligent web monitoring, so that OCS is improved the working condition for the line of heat treatment process and the product's quality. The developed OCS is consisted of Atmega128(MCU) based on embedded system, running the data logging of the line of heat treatment process. Web monitoring system is based on CS8900 ethernet controller and TCP/IP for remote monitoring responsibility between a server and clients and controlling the progress of entire system. The developed OCS is implemented on the line of heat treatment process and shows the improvement of environment condition, product's quality and efficiency of process line.

  • Recently there are operating the Floating Vessel with the positioning control unit in ocean. This technology is not open to industrial society as exclusive one. In order to improve technical competition for its domestic product. It is required to develope the relevant product like above subject. This system consist of DGPS System, Unique Analysis, System Network, and Mooring System and so on. Accordingly Model/Field test were carried out to verify its Function / Performance for application of practical product. In this development, we have prepared the successful result to operate the speedy / accurate / stable unit as shown on this subject 'Development of Positioning Control System for Ship and Offshore using the DGPS'. And also it is expected to install this product for ship and offshore unit.

  • An integrated operation method of production control system for chemical-product job-shops is presented in this paper. A possible application of real-time control system is suggested to handle data from laboratory materials requirements to finished product shipment. A low cost intra-net is constructed to be used as the system network and applications are developed using Visual Basic. CGI programming is done to interface the applications with necessary databases.

  • A self-tuning FPID(Fuzzy Proportional Intergral Derivative) controller fo load frequency control of 2-area power systemis proposed in this paper. The paramters of the proposed self-tuning FPID controller are self-tuned by the proposed fuzzy inference technique. Therefore in this paper the fuzzy inference technique of PID gains using PSGM(Product Sum Gravity Method) is presented and is applied to the load frequency control of 2-area power system. The computer simulation results show that the proposed controller give better more control characteristics than convention-al PID, FLC under load changes.

  • In this paper, we introduced a POS(Point of Sale) system for a wallpaper company. We designed the database schema for the POS system, and proposed various application areas of the POS system. Especially, we discussed such application areas as inventory control, marketing, product development, and distribution channel. The quality of product management is enhanced by precise ABC inventory control and safety stock control. Marketing strategies can be more precisely established, and their effects can be measured. The development time can be shortened and new products can be developed based on the real market demands. Distributors can improve their management quality using precise sales data.
