PP 복합 조성물의 반복 가공에 의한 열가소성 폴리머 탄소섬유 강화 복합재료의 물리적 특성 변화 연구 (Physical Property of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Polymer based Composites by Repeating Processing of PP Composition)

  • 경제성과 가공 시 용이성 등의 장점을 가지는 합성수지는 자연상태에서 분해되지 않고 환경오염을 야기 시키는 문제를 가진다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 재활용이 가능한 열가소성 수지가 주목되고 있고 그 중 경제성이 뛰어난 폴리프로필렌(PP)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. PP의 경우 기계적 특성 및 열안정성 등과 재활용성이 뛰어나다. 하지만 다수의 문헌에서 열가소성 수지의 반복 가공에 따라 물성의 저하가 일어난다는 것을 확인 할 수 있으며 가공 조건에 따라 품질의 저하가 발생하는 시점이 다르다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 PP 수지에 여러 첨가 성분을 블렌딩하여 복합 조성물 제조 시 반복 공정에 의한 성능 변화를 평가하기 위해 압출 공정 및 사출 공정을 반복 진행하여 기계적 특성 및 열적 특성을 평가하고자 한다. 또한 반복 공정 시 MFI 값 변화에 따라 복합재료 공정 시 섬유의 함침에 어떤 영향을 주는지에 대해 평가하기 위해 복합재료의 기계적 물성을 평가하고자 한다.

가리비(Patinopecten yessoensis) 및 키조개(Atrina pectinata)의 부위별 중금속 함량 및 위해도 평가 (Heavy Metal Contents in Internal Organs and Tissues of Scallops Patinopecten yessoensis and Comb Pen Shell Atrina pectinata)

  • Recent years have seen steadily increasing concerns about human exposure to heavy metals through seafood consumption. In Korea, the diverse dietary patterns of different bivalve shellfish necessitate tissue-specific evaluation of heavy metal contents for risk assessment. We analyzed the heavy metal contents of various tissues in scallops (Patinopecten yessoensis) and pen shells (Atrina pectinate). In both species, we found higher levels of cadmium (Cd) in the mantle than in the adductive muscle, while there was no significant difference between the two tissue types in total mercury (THg) and lead (Pb) (P<0.05). Levels of THg and Pb were acceptable by Korean standards. However, the level of Cd in pen shell mantle tissue exceeded the standard by 40%. The rate of heavy metal exposure from consumption of these species was shown to be 0.003-0.010% of the provisional tolerable weekly intake of THg and 0.312-0.600% of the provisional tolerable monthly intake (PTWI) of Cd as recommended by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives. These findings on the tissue-specific heavy metal contents of these species will be useful in assessing the health risks of Korean dietary habits.

Effects of lactic acid bacteria and molasses on fermentation dynamics, structural and nonstructural carbohydrate composition and in vitro ruminal fermentation of rice straw silage

  • Objective: This study was to evaluate the fermentation dynamics, structural and nonstructural carbohydrate composition and in vitro gas production of rice straw ensiled with lactic acid bacteria and molasses. Methods: Fresh rice straw was ensiled in 1-L laboratory silos with no additive control (C), Lactobacillus plantarum (L), molasses (M) and molasses+Lactobacillus plantarum (ML) for 6, 15, 30, and 60 days. After storage, the silages were subjected to microbial and chemical analyses as well as the further in vitro fermentation trial. Results: All additives increased lactic acid concentration, and reduced pH, dry matter (DM) loss and structural carbohydrate content relative to the control (p<0.05). The highest organic acid and residual sugar contents and lignocellulose reduction were observed in ML silage. L silage had the highest V-score with 88.10 followed by ML silage. L and ML silage improved in vitro DM digestibility as compared with other treatments, while in vitro neutral detergent fibre degradability (IVNDFD) was increased in M and ML silage (p<0.05). M silage significantly (p<0.05) increased propionic acid (PA) content and decreased butyric acid content and acetic acid/PA as well as 72-h cumulative gas production. Conclusion: The application of ML was effective for improving both the fermentation quality and in vitro digestibility of rice straw silage. Inclusion with molasses to rice straw could reduce in vitro ruminal gas production.

수용액 매체에서 젤-케스팅 공정을 이용한 세라믹 코어 제조에 관한 연구(I) : 다성분계 분산 세라믹 슬립의 젤화 거동 (Study on the Fabrication of Ceramic Core using a Gel-casting Process in Aqueous medium(I) : Gelation Behavior of Polydispered Ceramic Slip)

  • 수용액 매체에서 젤케스팅을 이용하여 복잡한 형상의 세라믹스를 제조하기 위한 새로운 공정을 연구하였다 용융실리카 분말과 첨가제로서 지르콘과 코디어라이트 조성으로 혼합된 현탁액을 electrosteric 방법으로 안정화시켰다. 슬립은 다성분계 세라믹 현탁액에 단량체, 이량체 그러고 분산제를 혼합하고, 볼밀하여 준비하였다. 슬립의 유동학적 특성을 평가하기 위해 점도를 측정하였으며 , 낮은 점도를 갖는 50vo1%의 고농도 다성분계 세라믹 슬립의 제조가 가능하였다. 슬립의 점도는 고분자 분산제의 함량과 단량체 및 이량체의 혼합비에 크게 의존하였다. 성형체는 안정화시킨 슬립을 몰드에 부어 상온에서 젤화시킨 후 $25^{\circ}C$, 80~85% 상대습도 분위기 하에서 48시간동안 건조시켜 제조하였으며 건조된 성형체에는 균열이 발생하지 않았다.

  • Restructured meat (RM) products are gaining importance as an essential component of the meat industry due to consumers' interest in health benefits. RM products imply the binding or holding of meat, meat by-products, and vegetable proteins together to form a meat product with meat's sensory and textural properties. RM products provide consumers with diversified preferences like the intake of low salt, low fat, antioxidants, and high dietary fiber in meat products. From the point of environmental sustainability, RM may aid in combining underutilized products and low-valued meat by adequately utilizing them instead of dumping them as waste material. RM processing technique might also help develop diversified and new hybrid meat products. It is crucial to have more knowledge on the quality issues, selection of binding agents, their optimum proportion, and finally, the ideal processing techniques. It is observed in this study that the most crucial feature of RM could be its healthy products with reduced fat content, which aligns with the preferences of health-conscious consumers who seek low-fat, low-salt, high-fiber options with minimal synthetic additives. This review briefly overviews RM and the factors affecting the quality and shelf life. Moreover, it discusses the recent studies on binding agents in processing RM products. Nonetheless, the recent advancements in processing and market scenarios have been summarized to better understand future research needs. The purpose of this review was to bring light to the ways of sustainable and economical food production.

EPDM 고무의 첨가제에 따른 가류 및 물성에 미치는 영향 연구 (Effect of Processing Additives on Vulcanization and Properties of EPDM Rubber)

  • 화학 관능기가 다른 지방산 에스터계, 지방산 금속염 및 아마이드계 분산 및 흐름개선 첨가제가 EPDM과 카본블랙을 충전제로 사용한 고무 배합물의 가류 특성과 가류된 고무 배합물의 기계적 물성 및 노화특성에 미치는 영향을 무니점도계, 레오미터, 경도계, 만능재료시험기 등을 이용하여 측정하였다. $125^{\circ}C$에서 측정된 무니점도는 아마이드계 > 금속염계 > 에스터계 첨가제의 순으로 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 스코치시간은 에스터계와 금속염계 첨가제는 첨가 유무에 따라 거의 차이가 없거나 조금 늦어지며, 아마이드계 첨가제는 1분 이상 빨라졌다. $160^{\circ}C$에서의 레오미터 측정 결과 가류시간은 금속염계와 아마이드계 첨가제의 경우는 가류반응이 빨리 진행되었다. 델타토크 값은 금속염계와 아마이드계 첨가제가 있는 경우 전반적으로 증가하였으나, 에스터계 첨가제가 있는 경우는 약간 감소하였다. EPDM 배합물의 인장강도는 에스터계 첨가제가 첨가된 경우 크게 향상되었으며, 아마이드계와 금속염계 첨가제의 경우는 큰 영향이 없었다. 신율의 경우는 금속염계 첨가제의 경우 크게 향상되었으며, 나머지의 경우는 큰 영향이 없었다. 인열강도는 첨가제의 첨가에 따라 전반적으로 상승하였으며 금속염계 첨가제의 경우에서 확연히 상승하였으며 경도는 첨가제의 종류와 상관없이 유사한 값을 나타내었다. $100^{\circ}C$에서 24시간 열노화시킨 EPDM 배합물은 금속염계와 아마이드계 첨가제의 경우는 거의 변화가 없었으며 신율의 변화는 첨가제를 함유한 모든 EPDM 배합물이 10-20% 정도 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

유색미(수원 415호)가루의 제빵성 검토 (Studies on Bread-Making Quality of Colored Rice(Suwon 415) Flours)

  • 유색미 수원 415호 쌀가루에 gluten 대체재료로써 10% gluten 및 3% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose를 첨가하여 제조한 쌀빵의 가공적성을 검토한 결과, 유색미 수원 415호로 성형성이 아주 좋은 쌀빵의 제조가 가능하였다. 유색미 쌀빵의 물성 중 경도와 씹힘성은 3% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose를 첨가하여 제조한 것이 10% gluten을 첨가하여 제조한 것 보다 낮아 부드러웠으며, 탄력성은 이와 반대의 경향을 나타내었다. 또한 저장에 따른 쌀빵의 노화도는 3% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose 첨가하여 제조하는 경우 강력분으로 제조한 빵과 비슷한 수준이었다. 관능검사 결과에 의하면, 3% hydroxypropyl methylcellulose를 첨가하여 제조한 쌀빵은 밀가루 빵에 비해서 질감이 부드럽기는 하지만 기공의 균일성은 나쁘게 나타났다. 그러나 빵의 탄력성은 밀가루 빵에 비해서 유의적인 차이가 없었다.

  • Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) Play an important role in the human diet and are used in the production of edible fermented products such as kimchi and yoghurt. LAB are regarded as safe food additives used to enhance the nutritive value of foods. Plant-origin lactic acid bacteria (PLAB) cultured in vegetal media are now widely used in food industries. PLAB have been found to activate intestinal immunity, modulate the balance of the intestinal bacterial from, and enhance intestinal function. They are known for their strong resistance to acid; this enables them to persist for a longer duration in the human intestine. PLAB can also survive in the intestinal environment under conditions of poor nutrition. They have stronger vitality as compared to LAB of animal origin. Due to the unique characteristics of PLAB, they are being widely used in Japan for processing foods such as yoghurt and beverages. Recently, PLAB has also been used as the culture for processing yoghurt in Korea. We expect further research on the functional effects of PLAB.

식품분쇄용 세라믹 롤 재료 개발과 기계적 특성평가 (Development of Ceramic Roll Materials for Food Grinding Processing and Evaluation of Mechanical Behavior)

  • In order to prevent the possibility of mixing of metal powder during food grinding processing with the metal roll mill this study was conducted to develope the materials of ceramics roll as a substitute of gray cast iron mill. Since the ceramics is brittle material and can be broken easily by a crack, it was needed to develope engineering ceramics roll materials with high elastic modulus and fracture toughness. Adding 0∼50 wt% Al$_2$O$_3$as densification additives to porcelain body material and forming the ceramics an different condition, mechanical properties were evaluated. The material structure’s densification process was analyzed by SEM and XRD. The evaluation of the mechanical properties of ceramics roll materials were compared and analyzed by non-destructive test using Young’s modulus and destructive test using 3-point bending strength and fracture toughness. The results showed several correlative results. Porcelain body material with 40 wt% Al$_2$O$_3$content heated at 1,200$\^{C}$ for 5h was high bulk density of 2.77, Young’s modulus of 118.4Gpa, 3-point bending strength of 137 MPa and fracture toughness of 2.88 MPa$.$m$\^$$\sfrac{1}{2}$/ . After analyzing the relationship between non-destructive test and destructive test, the coefficient of determination was more than 0.9. Therefore, the evaluation of non-destructive test by ultrasonic was turned out to be feasible in evaluating the mechanical properties of ceramics.

The Effect of Processing Variables and Composition on the Nitridation Behavior of Silicon Powder Compact

  • The effect of compositional and processing variables on a nitriding reaction of silicon powder compact and subsequent post sintering of RBSN (Reaction-Bonded Silicon Nitride) was investigated. The addition of a nitriding agent enhanced nitridation rate substantially at low temperatures, while the formation of a liquid phase between the nitriding agent and the sintering additives at a high temperature caused a negative catalyst effect resulting in a decreased nitridation rate. A liquid phase formed by solely an additive, however, was found to have no effect on nitridation for the additive amount used in this research. The original site of a decomposing pore former was loosely filled by a reaction product ($Si_3N_4$), which provided a specimen with nitriding gas passage. For SRBSN (Sintered RBSN) specimens of high porosity, only a marginal dimensional change was measured after post sintering. Its engineering implication for near-net shaping ability is discussed.
