  • When a large scale system and its machinery have a trouble, an inexperienced personnel has a difficulty to find out a countermeasure and to understand the situation quickly. In this paper, a Online Guide Application using 3D Virtual Reality is proposed, and it will be used for operator to work out a countermeasure quickly and to see a trouble situation widely. This application shows possibility of minimizing effects of an incident by presenting effective troubleshooting process. moreover, this is expected to be applied to training program.

연삭동력에 의한 Grinding Burn 검지를 위한 기초적 연구 (A Basic Study on the Monitoring of Grinding Burn by Grinding Power Signatures)

  • Grinding burn formed on the ground surface is related to the maximum temperature of workpiece surface and wheel tempertaure in the grinding process. The thermal characteristics of workpiece and grinding conditions on the surface tempertaure of the oxidation growing layer after get out of contact with the grinding wheel. The assumption used in grinding power signatures leads to the local temperature distribution between grinding wheel and workpiece, i.e., a single curve determines temperatures anywhere within the grinding wheel at anytime. This information is useful in the study of the grinding burn penetration into the wheel and thus provides an presentation of grinding trouble monitoring for the burning. On the basis of grinding power signatures in the wheel, thermally optimum grinding conditions are defined and controlled. To cope with grinding burn, the use of grinding power signatures is an effective monitoring systems when occurring the grinding process. In this paper, the identified parameters suggested in this study which are derived from the grinding power signatures are presented, and prediction model by grinding power utilized a linear regression algorithm is applied.

  • 철골공사 참여자들은 문서를 통해 다른 참여주체와 다양한 정보를 교환한다. 현재의 철골공사 업무체계는 다단계 도급의 형태를 가지고 있어서 참여주체들 간에 문서를 통하여 신속하게 정보를 교환하는데 있어 많은 어려움을 가지고 있다. 따라서 여러 주체가 관련된 설계변경과 같은 문제점이 발생했을 경우 업무처리에 많은 기간이 소요되며 관련 주체들 간의 협의가 불충분해질 우려가 있다 본 연구에서는 현재의 철골공사 설계변경 업무프로세스를 체계화하였으며, 철골공사 참여자들이 신속하고 정확하게 설계변경 업무를 처리함으로써 성공적인 철골공사 관리가 가능하도록 하기 위하여 현행의 설계변경 업무 프로세스에 XML을 적용하여 프로세스를 개선하고, XML지반 철골공사 업무지원시스템(XCOS)을 개발하였다.

  • Multivariate data analysis tools were used to improve the understanding of the wet end chemistry and white water system of the Papermill at NorskeCanada Crofton Division. Specifically, the analysis was aimed at identifying what variables were contributing to increased retention aid use and wet end instability. Several models were developed using data sets with up to 88 process variables and over 3000 observations. It was found that increased retention aid use was driven primarily by PCC and TMP usage as well as the addition of Alaskan White Spruce to the TMP furnish.

DAF 공정에서 발생한 슬러지의 Break-up 원인과 부상 특성 (Cause of Break-up and Flotation Characteristics for Sludge from DAF Process)

  • Although the bubble-floc agglomerate floated and formed the float layer on the surface of the water in the DAF process, after inducing in the thickening tank a part of the bubble-floc agglomerate come up again to the surface and the other is settled at the bottom of the tank. The bubble-floc agglomerate divided into two group as the scum on the surface and the sludge of the bottom gives rise to operational troubles for the thickening process. In order to find out the cause of break-up and the effective thickening method for sludge from the DAF process, the composition of the bubble-floc agglomerate was investigated and a series of flotation experiments carried out. There was no difference of composition between the scum on the surface and the sludge of the bottom in the thickening tank. The coagulation was not effective to improve the trouble that the bubble-floc agglomerate divided into the scum and the sludge. It was estimated that for the bubble-floc agglomerate of thickening tank the trouble was caused by not the change or the difference of chemical composition but whether the bubble-floc agglomerate hold bubbles. Furthermore, for the effective thickening of sludge from the DAF process, it is required an additional flotation applied the AS ratio depending upon the solid concentration of sludge as the operation parameter.

열 공구를 이용한 쾌속 폼 가공 공정 개발에 관한 연구 (A study of development of Rapid Foam Shaping process using hot tool)

  • Recently, life cycle and lead-time of products have been shortened with the demand of customers. Therefore, it is important to reduce time and cost at the step of manufacturing trial molds. In order to realize three dimensional shape on CAD, the machining process has been widely used because it offers practical advantages such as precision and versatility. However, traditional machining process spends a lot of time in cutting product and the remained material causes trouble such as inconvenience for clean. In this work, a new machining process using the hot tool has been proposed to overcome those limitations. In the process, the hot tool moves the predetermined path and the heat of the tool decomposes the remained material. In order to set up the process, the hot tool to satisfy requirements is designed and the material thermal properties are obtained using the DSC and TGA machine. The relationships between process parameters and thermal radius of the tool are obtained through experiment.

Ethylene Glycol과 Terephthalic Acid 분해균주를 이용한 감량가공폐수처리 (Treatment of Polyester Weight Loss Wastewater Using Strains Degrading Ethylene Glycol and Terephthalic Acid)

  • Terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol resulting form the weight-reduction process of polyester make trouble in the operation of activated sludge process. Also, polyester weight loss wastewater shows high pH, high organic strength and wide variation of organic loading. Therefore, this study was conducted in order to improve treatment efficiency by activated sludge process with Pseudomonas sp degrading components of polyester weight loss wastewater. The CO $D_{Mn}$ and BO $S_{5}$ of the waste wastewater were 560~3,000 mg/$\ell$ and 8000~3,000 mg/$\ell$, respectively. pH was 11.8~12.3. COD removal efficiency by activated sludge-coagulation process with Pseudomonas sp was 94.1~95.8% for 35 hr of hydraulic retention time. Total organic carbon removal efficiency was 97.1%. Ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid in the wastewater were completely degraded during 32 hr of hydraulic retention time.e.

  • This paper is concerned with the design of roller profiles in tube/pipe straightener with both methods of Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering. Design analysis is carried out from two point of view. The one is the research in the minimization of tube pitch which was very important factor in levelling process. In order to minimize tube pitch, profiles of the roller were calculated so that the contact region between roller and tube was maximized. The other is determination of an optimum amount of intermesh for the proper progress without a jam in levelling process. Generally the jamming trouble was casued by excessive amount of intermesh in levelling process. The optimum amount of intermesh was determined through the finite element analysis.

  • In order to realize a three-dimensional shape on CAD, the machining process has been widely used because it offers practical advantages such as precision and versatility. However, the traditional machining process needs a large amount of time in cutting a product and the remained material causes trouble such as inconvenience due to cleaning process. This paper introduces a new rapid manufacturing process called Rapid Heat Ablation process (RHA) using the rotary hot tool to overcome limitations of traditional machining process. The rotary hot tool to satisfy requirements of RHA process is designed and produced. In order to examine relationships between kerfwidth and process parameters such as heat input, speed of tool and speed of revolution, experiments were carried out. In addition, relationship between the kerfwidth and the effective heat input was obtained. Based on the experimental results, double-curved shape was ablated to show the validity of proposed process. In the procedure, the rough cut and fine cut were performed according to the conditions of process parameters without tool change process. The practicality and effectiveness of the proposed process have been verified through ablation of three-dimensional shape.

K-PSR 기법을 활용한 회분식 폴리에스터 축합반응에서의 공정 위험성 평가 연구 (Process Risk Assessment for a Batch Condensation Reaction of Polyester Resin using K-PSR Technique)

  • 회분식 축합반응에 의하여 폴리에스터 수지를 제조하는 중 소규모 화학 공장에 대하여 공정안전관리제도 (PSM)의 시행에 활용되는 위험성평가 방법들 중의 하나인 K-PSR 기법을 이용하여 위험성 평가 및 분석을 진행하였다. K-PSR 기법은 중 소규모 화학공장에 대한 위험성 재평가 시에 나타나는 인프라 부족에 의한 어려운 점을 보완하기 위하여 KOSHA에서 개발한 위험성 평가 기법이다. K-PSR 기법을 적용하기 위하여 선택된 화학 공장의 전체 공정을 축합반응공정과 희석/여과 공정의 2 개의 검토구간을 설정하고, 이에 대한 4가지 가이드워드(누출, 화재 폭발, 공정 트러블, 및 상해)를 기초로 하여 공정상의 잠재위험을 찾아내어 분류하였다. 연구의 결과로서, 위험도 등급을 고려한 안전조치로는 첫째, 누출 및 화재 폭발의 잠재 위험성을 예방하기 위한 구체적인 조치로서는 노후설비에 대한 비파괴 검사 및 전기설비의 LOTO 절차서의 마련이 반드시 필요한 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 열매체 공급 배관에는 압력계 및 온도계를 설치하여 공정 트러블을 최소화하고, 마지막으로 국소배기장치를 설치하여 잠재적인 상해를 예방해야 함을 알 수 있었다.
