The purpose of this study is to analyze human factors - stress, alcohol, fatigue - of the railway driver in domestic railway industry. This study proposes railway safety improvement of domestic railway by intensively comparing railway safety system overseas to reinforce domestic railway safety. Domestic railways well known the well-organized railway safety culture has brought up safety issues on their process of private management. With this process, also, domestic safety is requested by increasing sense of the safety for general public. This study expects Korean railways to become a well-organized that as removing insecure factors of domestic railway based on result comparing and analyzing the manual, factors and requirements of guideline for internal and external safety culture.

To construct ligh rail transit, many local autonomous entities investigate the feasibility of project. Especially, many studies attempt to find the probability of private inducement and the method. The purpose of this paper is to develop the light rail transit financial analysis system for private sector, based on the procedure and the method of the financial analysis. This system consistes of the income and cost module. As a result, provide the cash flow, income statement and financial profit statement for the result. We hope that it is contributed to analyze the feasibility of the finance conveniently.

The new information service has been demanded due to the recent mobile internet activation, and the government is promoting the activation of the private use of the public data by putting up the Government 3.0. According to government policy, many public sectors provide public data, but the railway sector is inferior to other public sector. In the case of national railway corporation, urban railway is now operated by 14 corporations such as Seoul Metro through the nation and high-speed railway is now operated by Korea Railroad Corporation and Supreme Railways. It is very difficult to standardize and integrate data due to mutual interests of national railway corporation. This paper describes a way to standardize and integrate rail passengers information collected through research project.

In these days, private investment for railway business has been expended and the importance of asset management arose. Especially new concept and effective management for the maintenance of railway have been developed. RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance) is suggested to optimize the maintenance task and the proper maintenance decision logic for each system has been needed. But there are a lot of difficulties to apply the maintenance decision logic which has been developed in Aviation fields to railway. In this paper, the study on the development of the maintenance decision logic will be introduced through the risk analysis which has been applied to analyze the safety of railway.

Recently, various attempts are made to increase the efficiency of railway freight transport including bulk cement, the most important transport item of railway transport market. The major seven cement companies have started common use of private bulk cement car since April 2008 for the efficiency of railway freight transport. At that time, major seven cement companies owned 75% of whole bulk cement car. Railway companies forecasted that this project will decrease the amount of cost and transport time of freight car. With these data, it analyzed the effectiveness of the joint use of freight car on actual used data.

In smart card data, movement of railway passengers appears in order of smart card terminal ID. The initial terminal ID holds information on the entering station's tag-in railway line, the final terminal ID the exit station tag-out railway line, and the middle terminal ID the transfer station tag subway line. During the past, when the metropolitan city rail consisted of three public corporations (Seoul Metro, Incheon Transit Corporation, and Korail), OD data was expressed in two metrics of initial and final smart card terminal ID. Recently, with the entrance of private corporations like Shinbundang Railroad Corporation, and UI Corporation, inclusion of entering transfer line terminal ID and exiting transfer line terminal ID as part of Chain OD has become standard. Exact route construction using Chain OD has thus become integral as basic data for revenue allocation amongst metropolitan railway transport corporations. Accordingly, path detection in railway networks has evolved to an optimal path detection problem using Chain OD, hence calling for a renewed solution method. This research proposes an optimal path detection method between the initial terminal ID and final terminal ID of Chain OD terminal IDs within the railway network. Here, private line transfer TagIn/Out must be reflected in optimal path detection using Chain OD. To achieve this, three types of link-based optimum path detection methods are applied in order of 1. node-link, 2. link-link, 3. link-node. The method proposed based on additional path costs is shown to satisfy the optimal conditions.

Few studies have specifically focused on the uncertainty of demand forecasting despite the fact that uncertainty is the one of greatest risks for governments and private partners in PPP projects. This study presents a methodology for finding robust contract conditions considering uncertainty in travel demand forecasting in a PPP project. Through a case study of an urban railway PPP project in Korea, this study uncovered the risk of excessive government payments to private partners due to the uncertainty in contracted forecast ridership levels. The results allow the suggestion that robust contract conditions could reduce the expected total level of government payments and lower user fees while maintaining profitability of the project. This study offers a framework that assists contract negotiators and gives them more information regarding financial risks and vulnerabilities and helps them to quantify the likelihood of these vulnerabilities coming into play during PPP projects.

The advent of private railroad corporations gave us many changes because of emphasizing on administration's effectiveness. The change has had an effect on safety management too. Most public railway corporations maintain their rolling stocks and facilities by their direct workers on the other hand, private railway corporations depend on outsourcing to cut down the cost of maintenance. But they have almost same safety management system. Therefore we try to study the difference between two type of corporations, especially workers' safety attitude and propose different safety management system depending on direct or indirect workers.
