This study verifies the effect of self-awareness on life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety as mental health indicators. An online survey, including self-awareness, life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety, was conducted on 300 adolescents, and the relationship between variables was observed through multiple regression analysis. As a result, adolescents' overall self-awareness significantly affected life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety. Moreover, the effect of self-awareness was confirmed on mental health by dividing it into private, public, and situational self-awareness: life satisfaction was predicted by public and situational self-awareness, while depression and anxiety were predicted through private self-awareness. The result shows that adolescents' self-awareness generally affects their mental health; however, positive and negative emotional factors are differentially affected by different types of self-awareness. This study confirms the importance of self-awareness in the process of improving mental health and quality of life in adolescence.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the factors of communication ability according to self-awareness and other-awareness in some dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 260 dental hygiene students in Gwangju and Jeonnam from June 14 to 28, 2016. After explanation of the purpose of the study, an informed consent was written by the students. The effect size was calculated by $G^*power$ 3.1 program. The study instruments comprised the general characteristics of the subjects, self-awareness, other-awareness, and communication ability. Data were analyzed by independent test, one way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, stewise multiple regression test, and Pearson's correlation test using SPSS 18.0. Results: Communication ability had a significant positive correlation with self-awareness(r=0.427, p<0.001) and other-awareness (r=0.460, p<0.001). The higher level of self-awareness and other-awareness was proportional to communication ability. The influencing factors of communication ability included private self-awareness(${\beta}=0.227$), public self-awareness(${\beta}=0.170$), social anxiety(${\beta}=0.182$), and external other-awareness(${\beta}=0.282$). Conclusions: To improve the communication ability in the dental hygiene students, it is important to improve self-awareness and other-awareness. The implementation of communication skill in the curriculum will enhance the dental hygiene students competency.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among the factors of self-awareness, other-awareness and communication ability, and how they relate to communication ability in nursing students. Methods: For data collection 237 nursing students completed self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Self-awareness, other- awareness and communication ability of the participants showed moderate levels of self-awareness, other-awareness, and communication ability. There were significant positive correlations between self-awareness and communication ability (r=.59, p<.001). and between other-awareness and communication ability (r=.22, p=.001). Social anxiety, private self-awareness, and internal other-awareness were significant factors, which explained about 37% of the variance in communication ability. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a systematic and effective curriculum focused on self-awareness and other-awareness should be developed for nursing students in order to promote their communication ability.

This study investigated the awareness and purchase status of the private dental insurance. Self-reported survey was conducted with patients over the age of twenties who visited dental institutions located in Seoul Metropolitan City and Gyeonggi Province. The demographic and health related characteristics of respondents were analyzed, and logistic regression was conducted to examine factors affecting the awareness and purchase of private dental insurance. Because only four years had been passed since the introduction of private dental insurance, the awareness and purchase rate was found to be low. However, the number of people considering subscription due to the economic burden of dental care service was relatively high. Factors affecting awareness were satisfaction of the national health insurance, purchase of private health insurance and private dental insurance, self-perceived dental health status, and smoking. The variables affecting purchase of dental insurance were age, awareness, purchase of private health insurance, smoking, number of visits to dental institution. Because qualitative and quantitative change would be made in the dental care utilization due to the rapidly growing dental insurance subscribers, further studies regarding the trend of purchase rate of private dental insurance and the effect of dental insurance on use of dental institution are needed.
Background: The purpose of this study is to assess the degree of self-awareness, recognition of others, and adaptation to college life of dental hygiene students, and to identify the factors affecting college life adjustment. Methods: The effect size was calculated using the G*power 3.1.9.4 program, based on the data of 191 people who agreed to participate in the questionnaire. Independent samples t-test, one way ANOVA, Post HOC Scheffe, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted to explore the difference and correlation between self-awareness, perception of others, and college life adjustment according to general characteristics. Results: A significant positive correlation was found in self-awareness (r=.301). The highest positive correlations were with social adjustment in both private (r=.340) and public self-awareness (r=.331) (p<0.01). Recognition of others (r=-.051) showed a negative correlation with college life adjustment, though it was not statistically significant. As factors for adapting to college life, private self-awareness (β=.232) and public self-awareness (β=.254) had a positive (+) effect, and internal self-awareness (β=-.205) was found to have a negative (-) effect (p<0.01) Conclusion: The self-awareness and recognition of others among dental hygiene students influence their smooth adjustment to college life. Improvement measures are recommended to enhance adaptability to college life and develop core competencies related to their major
The objectives of this study were to investigate how the types of awareness of cost and benefit of consumer complaining behavior about the private educational institute services were classified, how different demographic and consumer complaining rebated characteristics were according to the types of awareness of cost and benefit about consumer complaining behavior, and what were the determinant factors of the types of awareness of cost and benefit about consumer complaining behavior. The survey of this study was conducted by means of self-administered questionnaire with 546 university students living in Seoul and Cheongjoo. They had an experience of studying in the private educational institute in recent two years. Major findings were as following: (1) The types of awareness of cost and benefit of consumer complaining behavior about the private educational institute services were classified into four - awareness of high cost and low benefit, high cost and high benefit, low cost and medium benefit, medium cost and medium benefit. (2) The attitude about complaints, the confidence of success about complaint, and the knowledge about complaints were different significantly according to the types of awareness of cost and benefit about consumer complaining behavior. (3) The types of awareness of cost and benefit about consumer complaining behavior were different significantly according to only a school year among demographic characteristics. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between self-esteem, self-awareness, and empathy and to identify factors that influence empathy among 302 nursing students from a university in C city from March to May 2021. The collected data were subjected to t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, empathy was 3.59 points out of 5, and gender and nursing department satisfaction were significantly different from empathy. The factors that had a significant effect on empathy were private self-awareness, public self-awareness, positive self-esteem, and gender, with the explanatory power of 22.9%. In order to increase the level of self-esteem, self-awareness and empathy for nursing students, it is necessary to establish a new curriculum that examines interest in their inner world. Development of various curriculum programs such as team classes that help promote interaction using small groups and role-playing classes that explore and experience one's own or others' thoughts and emotions are suggested.
Korea Security Association suggested from who Professor An, Hwang Kwon advocated the introduction of a private security guard certification system, and the private security guard certification exam has been conducted seven times since 2005, being authorized by the government. Currently, there are a lot of certified private security guards who have passed the exam. In fact, however, no preference is given to them. In terms of employment, they don't receive any preferential treatment nor are given any extra points. Furthermore, they cannot afford to make use of their certificate. The purpose of this study was to examine the state of utilizing the private security guard certificate among student certificate holders and their awareness of the private security guard system. The findings of the study were as follows: First, it's important to present a vision for certified private security guards, and what equally matters is to make it clear how and where they can show what they can do. Second, it's required to improve the image and reliability of private security guards as professional security guards. Third, candidates for the certification exam should boost their own self-esteem, confidence and professionalism as competent human resources who can make a contribution to society.
