  • As the public Japanese art, print can be said to have started from Ukiyo-e print of Edo period(江戶時代, 1603~1867). Ukiyo-e(浮世繪) print, which 3 persons jointly produce, henceforth has gradually declined since the meiji period(明治時代, 1868~1912) due to the development of new print technique and introduction of western art. Since then, during the daiso period(大正時代 1912~1926), creative print movement grew up. Creative print is, differently from Ukiyo-e print, to be produced by one person, from the original picture to print, focusing on creating the artist's own work by being the main agent of the work. During before and after 1900s, print was evaluated low in Japan, compared to western painting, sculpture, etc. Nevertheless, the facts that several Japanese print artists received awards from international exhibits since 1950s became a big topic internationally, which became an opportunity to hold Tokyo International Print Biennale in 1957 in Japan, the first international art festival. From then on, print was recognized as an art genre while new recognition on it was gradually accepted also in Japan. In 1970, a controversy on it arose, while the characteristic of print as a medium of modern art became strong, accordingly, a controversy on it arose. However, in 1980, it firmly established itself as an art genre by overcoming the crisis through various efforts in the dimension of print artists and university education. Since then, print artists who produce new works with completeness by applying traditional technique and modern expression mode emerged, and until now Japanese modern print art is highly recognized by the world through the continuous overseas activities, research on print art, and cultivation of young print artists. This research looked back on the historical process when Japanese modern print art was created, which represents Asia, and investigated the cause that it could have win an international fame.

  • Print gloss is an important attribute of the final printed product. While past work has looked at the influence of key aspects of the coating structure on print gloss, a systematic study has not been reported. The coating roughness, porosity, and pore size are changed by using various combinations of coating materials and by calendering against rough plastic sheets. The print gloss is measured every tenths of a second right after printing, a few minutes after printing, and a few days afterwards. Roughness and porosity affect the print gloss for the first two seconds: this result shows that they influence the ink-film splitting event. Once ink film starts to level, roughness and pore size influences the level of print gloss within the first ten seconds after printing. Porosity modifies the evolution of print gloss for the next few minutes. The decrease in gloss at long times is found to correlate to surface roughness.

  • In this paper, We need to change all print factors when which print scaffold with 400 ㎛ pore using FDM 3d printer. Therefore the print quantity is 10 billion times, So we are difficult to print on workplace. To solve the problem, we used the prediction model based machine learning regression. We preprocessed and learned the securing print condition data, and we produced different kinds of prediction models. We predicted the pore size of scaffolds not securing with new print condition data using prediction models. We have derived the print conditions that satisfy the pore size of 400 ㎛ among the predicted print conditions of pore size. We printed the scaffolds 5 times on the condition. We measured the pore size of the printed scaffold and compared the average pore size with the predicted pore size. We confirmed that error was less than 1%, and we were identify the model with the highest pore size prediction performance of scaffold.

  • Finger-print recognition is achieved by comparing an input finger-print image with the stored images in the computer, and finally by determining agreement or disagreement. Encryption and decryption are necessary in the finger-print recognition process. In these process CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) is used, and finger-print images reconstructed from the CGHs are compared. In this paper, two methods of recognition are used, one is to compare the finger-print images of each other reconstructed from their CGHs and the other is to compare the CGHs to each other directly, to analyze the differences of finger-print recognition capability between these two methods. Experimental results show that the capability of finger-print recognition for comparing the CGHs of the two is about 150 times higher than in case of comparing the reconstructed finger-print images. Especially the changes of characteristics according to modulation types of CGH are analyzed.

  • Most traditional newspaper publishers provide online editions to counter the competition of online news providers. However, the relationship between the online and print editions of the same newspaper has not been clearly defined. Some see the online newspaper as a substitute, while others consider it a complement. A 2002 NAA online newspaper consumer survey indicated that one-third of its respondents said they were now using the print newspaper less. Others have argued that the online edition will not wipe out print consumption, and may even complement it. While the print edition offers particular advantages such as portability, less eye strain, and the tactile experience of a printed page, the online edition also offers specific advantages such as access to breaking news, continually updated information, access to old archives, etc. All these factors would tend to lower the degree of interchangeability between the products. However, recent empirical studies show that the online edition is a substitute for rather than a complement of the print edition. Still, to some print readers, the online edition provides additional value. In this paper, by capturing the two different aspects of online editions the substitute aspect and the additional value added aspect as well as other available online alternatives, we develop an analytical model to derive the optimal production and distribution strategies of both online and print editions. Confronting the "free versus fee" issue, we show that it is optimal to provide an online version of the print newspaper for free to non-print subscribers. However, the amount of free news content that the publishers need to put on the Web depends on the available alternatives on the online market. The "fee" and "free" options both have merits and demerits as well. If the publisher charges for the online version of the print newspaper, she can generate revenue from the fee charged to online readers. However, doing so will limit the size of the online audience and further reduce online advertising revenue. At the same time, by providing a high-quality online version and charging for it, the price of the print newspaper must stay low in order to lure high valued readers. On the contrary, if the publisher provides an online version of the print newspaper for free, she can obtain a larger audience for the online version. At the same time, by providing a low-quality online newspaper, the publisher can increase the print newspaper price to get more revenue from high valued offline readers, although no revenue is incoming from online version readers. Through systematic measuring of all the pros and cons, our analysis shows that the optimal option is not "fee" but "free."

  • This paper presents a lip print recognition by the pattern kernels for a personal identification. A lip print recognition is developed less than the other physical attributes of a fingerprint, a voice pattern, a retinal blood/vessel pattern, or a facial recognition. A new method is proposed to recognize a lip print bi the pattern kernels. The pattern kernels are a function consisted of some local lip print pattern masks. This function converts the information on a lip print into the digital data. The recognition in the multi-resolution system is more reliable than recognition in the single-resolution system. The results show that the proposed algorithm by the multi-resolution architecture can be efficiently realized.

  • This research attempts to analyze communication effects of print ad having pictorial typography. 150 Questionnaires were distributed to respondents staying Daejeun City and 148 copies were retreated for five days from April 22nd to 26th, 2012. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha for reliability analysis were utilized for data analysis with SPSS 12.0. For testing hypothesis, regression analysis was used. As result of testing hypothesis, 'informative, beneficial, creative, reliable' were partially significant to attitude towards print ad having pictorial typography. That means 'creative' and 'reliable' were insignificant, while 'informative' and 'beneficial' are significant. Variable of the most influencing on attitude towards advertising is 'informative.' 'Informative, beneficial, creative, and reliable' were partially significant to brand attitude, too. That means 'beneficial' and 'creative' were insignificant, while 'informative' and 'reliable' were significant. Variable of the most influencing on brand attitude was 'reliable.' Therefore, to enhance communication effect of print ad having pictorial typography, 'informative' and 'reliable' are most significant variables.

  • In this paper, We used the regression model of machine learning for improve the print quantity problem when which print scaffold with 400 ㎛ pore using FDM 3d printer. We have difficult to experiment with changing all factors in the field. So we reduced print quantity by selected two factors that most impact the pore size. We printed and measured scaffold 5 times under same conditions. We created regression model using scaffold pore size and print conditions. We predicted pore size of untested print condition using the regression model. After print scaffold with 400 ㎛ pore, we printed scaffold 5 times under same conditions. We compare the predicted scaffold pore size and the measured scaffold pore size. We confirmed that error is less than 1 % and we verified the results quantitatively.
