  • Currently in Korea, Researches on universal design have been actively accomplished in various fields as not only housing and public space, but also product design and education. The purpose of this study is to analyze previous researches on universal design and to identify its research trends which might suggest the future directions of the related studies. In this study, researches on universal design were analyzed to classify the types according to research area, objects and respondents. Two hundreds twenty one papers(journal articles, theses, dissertations, etc.) which were published in Korea from 1997 to 2008 were analyzed. The results were as follows. Researches on universal design have increased quantitatively and research topics have been diverse. In the 1990s, with the introduction of universal design concept, research area focused on space design, but since 2000 researches on universal design have been expanded to apply the fashion, product design and education. In terms of research objects, the studies about evaluation and case analysis have conducted more than those about principles and planning design. With regard to research respondent, the studies for the elderly or people with disabilities and those of all people including a specific target have conducted in a similar ratio. Previous studies were contributed to expand the topics of universal design and it is time to study the applications based on previous research results for utilization and dissemination of universal design. Also it is necessary to conduct interdisciplinary studies in the field of universal design.

  • This study is about Augmented Reality Game (AR Game) applied to Pokemon Go, which has recently been a sensational game. We focused on and analyzed the intention for continuous use as a dependent variable. We made hypotheses through previous studies and used spatial presence, perceived interactivity, perceived pleasure, and sickness as independent variables. Immersion was set up as a mediating variable. We conducted the study using 198 data, which people who experienced AR games responded. The results were as follows. First, spatial presence and perceived pleasure were found to have a significant effect on immersion, as in previous studies. Second, the relationship between sickness and immersion, which were shown to have a negative relationship in previous studies, we found that variables had a positive relationship unlike previous studies and rejected the hypothesis. Third, perceived interactivity, which is one of the crucial variables to affect the intention for continuous use, we found not to have a significant relationship among perceived interactivity, immersion, and the intention for continuous use. This result is opposite from previous studies, and further research on this issue is expected. We conducted this study with an individual user's view on immersion and the intention for continuous use rather than focusing on technical or political topics. Besides, this study has a significance that drew different results from previous studies and explored people who relish AR games with the characteristics of personal variables.

  • The process of chloride ingress in saturated concrete was presented by a previous study that used a mathematical model for the same as that concrete. This model is to be studied chloride ion diffusion which is considered as a chemical phenomenon and is to be represented the chloride diffusion process to be a nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE). In this paper, this nonlinear PDE is solved by the Kirchhoff transformation to render into a linear PDE. This linear PDE associated with initial and boundary conditions is also solved by the Laplace transformation to obtain an analytical solution. To verify the serviceability and reliability of this proposed method, the practical application should be supplied. The input parameters were cited from the previous study. The free chloride concentration profiles obtained by the analytical solution of mathematical model for saturated concretes after 24 and 120 hrs of exposure were compared with the previous study. The predicted results obtained from proposed method have a tendency with experimental results obtained by the previous study and trend toward numerical results approximated by finite difference technique.

The major findings are as follows. 1. Those who have a history of previous treatment were 58, 22.5% of those 258 patients who were studied. 2. There is no difference in sex however the rate of previous history of treatment was higher among middle age group (20-59) than young and old age group (under 19 or over 60). 3. The rate of previous treatment was rather higher in those lived in remote area from Eup. 4. As for the reationship with occupation, students and civil servants who easily exposured to the public relations of government's tuberculosis control program experienced lower previous treatment before registration than farmers or unemployed. 5. A total of 62.1% were previously treated less than 6 months, 29.3% between 6 and 12 months, and only 8.6% more than 12 months before registration to health center. 6. The most common used anti-tuberculosis drugs were isoniazid and ethambutol but only 13.8% used government-standardized precription and 69.0% used secondary drugs from its beginning. 7. There was no statistical difference between the previous history of treatment and the outcome at the time of discharge from the health center. However the longer the duration of treatment before registration was the lower the cure rate at health center was.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate housing cost burden of U.S. households according to current and previous tenure types and explore influences on their housing affordability. The public-use microdata of the 2009 American Housing Survey was analyzed in the following two stages: In the first stage, households were classified into eight groups by combining their current and previous tenure types, year moved into current housing units and mortgage status of current owners and their characteristics were compared. In the second stage, the factors that influenced the housing cost burden by each combined tenure group were explored using multiple regression analyses. The findings are as follows: (1) The mortgage status was more influential than the previous housing experiences of owner households to distinguish one owner household from another. (2) Renter households who had been owners of previous housing units showed significantly different characteristics compared to continuing and new renter households in terms of income, educational attainment, and householder's marital status as well as housing costs and housing cost burdens. (3) To see the multiple regression analysis results, households with different current and previous tenure types were found to have different factors that influenced the housing cost burdens. In addition, household characteristics were found to have significant influences on housing cost burdens as strong as cost-related variables such as annual mortgage payments and rent per square footage.
