Pressure ripples, which are inevitably generated by a fluctuation of flow rate caused by a pump mechanism, include noises and vibrations in hydraulic pipeline. These noises and vibration deteriorate the stability and accuracy of hydraulic systems. The accumulator and hydraulic attenuator are normally used to reduce the pressure ripples. In this study, a parallel line is introduced to the hydraulic pipeline for the hydraulic system with a bent-axis piston pump as a method to reduce the pressure ripples. The dynamic characteristics of the hydraulic pipeline with a parallel line are analyzed by a transfer matrix in the frequency domain. The usefulness of the hydraulic pipeline with a parallel line was ascertained by experiment and simulation. The results from the experiment and simulation show that the hydraulic pipeline with a parallel line were effective in reducing the pressure ripples.
This paper proposes a control scheme to reduce the power consumption of a variable displacement swash-plate type piston pump supplying oil to a valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder at constant pressure. Whenever flow rate demand was absent, the swash plate angle and the pump speed were changed to the minimum values required to compensate for the internal leakage flow. In response to command signals, the pump speed was changed in proportion to the absolute mean value of the speed component for position commands. At the same time, a pressure regulator was activated to maintain constant system pressure by precisely adjusting the pump speed with the swash plate angle fixed at the maximum. The conventional system consisting of a pressure-compensated variable displacement type pump is driven at a constant speed of 1,800rpm. By comparison, computer simulation and experimental results showed that idling power at stand-by status could be reduced by up to 70% by reducing the pump speed from 1,800rpm to 300rpm and the swash plate angle to the minimum.
The textiles supply rolling equipment is a part of inspection machine which inspect finished textiles and it check up textiles through rolling hydraulic equipment. This study suggests a method to select the capacity and initial gas pressure of accumulator to control reducing speed of the hydraulic motor to a desired degree. An accumulator in hydraulic systems is hydraulic machinery which stores kinetic energy of inertia body during braking. A series of computer simulations were done for the brake action and the selection method was based upon a trial and error approach. The results of the simulation work were compared with those of experiments and these results show that the proposed method can be applied effectively to control reducing speed of the hydraulic motor when braking action in textiles rolling system.
A new passive control technique of cavity-induced pressure oscillations has been investigated numerically for a supersonic two-dimensional flow over open rectangular cavities at Mach number 1.83 just upstream of a cavity, in which a sub-cavity system is installed on the backward-facing step of the main cavity. A third-order TVD (Total Variation Diminishing) finite difference scheme with MUSCL is used to discretize the spatial derivatives in the unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The results obtained show that the present sub-cavity system is very effective in reducing cavity-induced pressure oscillations. The results also showed that the resultant amount of attenuation of cavity-induced pressure oscillations was dependent on the length and thickness of the flat plate, and also on the depth of the sub-cavity used as an oscillation suppressor.
Recently, improving the energy efficiency of a pneumatic system and reducing the consumption of compressed air were a concern of scholars at domestic and abroad. The using fields of a pneumatic system are widely used in factory automation of manufacturing line, chemical factories with explosiveness danger and petroleum industries etc. In particular, pneumatic cylinder is applied to feeding work of workpiece. jig tools and press mechanism, reciprocation and rotary motion with rack and pinion. In this study, the experimental apparatus consisted to pneumatic cylinder, dual supply pressure regulator and solenoid valve. The dual supply pressure regulator connected to outlet port of solenoid valve. The supply pressure($4.5kg_f/cm^2$) of compressed air goes into the rodless chamber 1 to drive the piston rod forward which is named working stage. The supply pressure ($2kg_f/cm^2$) of compressed air goes into the rod chamber 2 to drive the piston rod backward which is named no-working stage. Accordingly, the research results of this study can be obtained to Energy-Saving Effects of the compressed air about 35%.

Two-stage turbocharging is an important way to raise engine power density, to realize energy saving and emission reducing. At present, turbine matching of two-stage turbocharger is based on MAP of turbine. The matching method does not take the effect of turbines' interaction into consideration, assuming that flow at high pressure turbine outlet and low pressure turbine inlet is uniform. Actually, there is swirl flow at outlet of high pressure turbine, and the swirl flow will influence performance of low pressure turbine which influencing performance of engine further. Three-dimension models of turbines with two-stage turbocharger were built in this paper. Based on the turbine models, mechanism of swirl flow at high pressure turbine outlet influencing low pressure turbine performance was studied and a two-stage radial counter-rotation turbine system was raised. Mechanisms of the influence of counter-rotation turbine system acting on low-pressure turbine were studied using simulation method. The research result proved that in condition of small turbine flow rate corresponding to engine low-speed working condition, counter-rotation turbine system can effectively decrease the influence of swirl flow at high pressure turbine outlet imposing on low pressure turbine and increases efficiency of the low-pressure turbine, furthermore increases the low-speed performance of the engine.
This paper investigates a fast, accurate and inexpensive hydraulic motor speed control system using high speed on-off solenoid valves. In order to retain the advantages of the two position valve and obtain better performance, the valves are operated by pulse width modulation(PWM) control. PWM signal is generated from a LabWIEW program in microcomputer in order to set up various duty ratio and frequency of carrier wave in PWM signal with varying system parameters. As the results of experiments, the speed control of a hydraulic motor was successfully implemented using on-off solenoid valves. In order to attenuate the pressure ripple and speed variation due to discontinuously controlled flow through the on-off valves, a resonator hose fabricated for automobile power steering system was connected between the valve and a hydraulic motor. From experimental results obtained in the hydraulic motor system with a resonator hose, it was ascertained that the resonator hose showed excellent performances in reducing pressure ripple and motor speed variation.
The high fuel flexibility of gas turbine power system has boosted their use in a wide variety of applications. Recently, the demand for biogas generated from the digestion of organic wastes and sewage waste water as a fuel for gas turbines has increased. We investigated the performance of high pressure biogas compression system and operating conditions for supplying biogas. The total flow per minute of biogas from food waste water digestion tank is $54Nm^3$. The main type of biogas compression system is the reciprocating system and screw type system. The target of biogas mechanical data is the as belows; inlet pressure 0.045bar, supplying biogas temperature is $30{\sim}60^{\circ}C$, and final pressure is above the 25 bar. Also, inlet conditions of biogas consist of CH4 48.5%~83%, $H_2S$ Max. 500ppm, $NH_3$ Max. 1,500ppm and Siloxane 2.7~4.6ppm. The boosting Blower system raises a pressure from 0.045bar to 1bar before main compressor. The main system lay out of reciprocating consisits of compressor driver, filter, cooling system, blowdown vessel, control system and ESD(Emergency Shut Down) system. And an enclosure package needs to be installed for reducing noise up to 75dB. The system driver is the electronic motor of explosion proof type. Forthe compressor system reliable operation, the cleaning system something like particulate filter needs to be set up in the inlet of compressor and Coalescing Filter in the outlet of compressor. Particulate Filter has to be removed above $10{\mu}m$ size of the particles in biogas. The coalescing filter(Micofine Borosilicate Glass Fibers Filter treated phenol acid) also removes moisture and oil of above $0.3{\mu}m$ to be involved in high pressure biogas up to 90%~98%.
A high-pressure, high-pressure drop control valve, which transforms the power transfer of a system by reducing the inlet pressure of 345bartothe outlet pressure of 112bar, is a fundamental component in an offshore plant process. With the increasingly growing market share of the maritime industry, this valve has been expected to be a high-value-added product. This study not only analyzes the relation between pressure drop and fluid velocity in a trim by using fluid analysis, but also examines the possibility of cavitation in a valve in addition to the plot for the extension of lifespan. Based on the analysis results, the design and production method of the valve are established, and accordingly, performance evaluation is carried out. It is demonstrated that the pressure drop from 345bar to 112bar is more feasible in the presence of the trim, which can induce a continuous and diminutive pressure drop in order to prevent cavitation in a high-pressure drop control valve. Furthermore, despite the fluid velocity near a seatring being found to be over 30m/s, the lifespan of the valve is determined to be adequate considering the operation condition of a prototype valve of 80%.
In the brake systems, it is important to reduce the rear brake pressure in order to secure the safety of the vehicle in braking. So, there was some research that reduced and controlled the rear brake pressure exactly like a LSPV and a ELSPV. However, the previous research has some weaknesses: the LSPV is a mechanical system and its brake efficiency is lower than the efficiency of ELSPV, But, the cost of ELSPV is very higher so its application to the vehicle is very difficult. Additionally, when a fail appears in the circuit which controls the valves, the fail results in some wrong operation of the valves. But, the previous researchers didn't take the effect of fail into account. Hence, the efficiency of them is low and the safety of the vehicle is not confirmed. So, in this paper we develop a new economical pressure modulator that exactly controls brake pressure and confirms the safety of the vehicle in any case using a direct adaptive fuzzy controller.
