  • A mathematical model of the pressure gradient of supercritical CO2 in a vertical tobacco bed was developed in this study. In particular, the compaction of the tobacco as a function of temperature and CO2 flow is included in the model. Downflow of CO2 (low condition is described. At velocities in excess of 0.6 cm/sec at 7$0^{\circ}C$, there is a large increase in pressure gradient for beds deeper than about 0.5 m. The proposed model offers a better understanding of operating the process using supercritical CO2.

  • The objective of this study is to present a numerical treatment of the pressure gradient when control volumes are sharing the interface between a homogeneous fluid and a porous medium. Two possible approaches, e.g. linear interpolation and extrapolation, are considered, and they are applied to the case of a steady and two-dimensional curved channel flow which is partially filled with a porous medium. It was found that the linear extrapolation produces a continuous velocity-field at the interface and thus is recommended. On the contrary, the linear interpolation entails a discontinuous velocity field at the interface, thereby warning its use in connection with the Brinkman-Forchheimer-extended Darcy flow model.

역압력 구배가 있는 난류유동에 대한 수치적 연구 (A numerical study of turbulent flows with adverse pressure gradient)

  • Turbulent flows around tube banks and in the diffuser were studied using a non-orthogonal boundary fitted coordinate system and the modified K-.epsilon. turbulence model. In these cases, many problems emerge which stem from the geometrical complexity of the flow domain and the physical complexity of turbulent flow itself. To treat the complex geometry, governing equations were reformulated in a non-orthogonal coordinate system with Cartesian velocity components and discretised by the finite volume method with a non-staggered variable arrangement. The modified K-.epsilon. model of Hanjalic and Launer was applied to solve above two cases under the condition of strong and mild pressure gradient. The results using the modified K-.epsilon. model results in both test cases.

일정 열유속을 받는 곡관내에서의 맥동 열유동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on Pulsatile Flow and Heat Transfer in a Curved Tube with Constant Heat Flux)

  • Characteristics of pulsatile flow and heat transfer have been studied numerically in the constant heat flux curved tube with periodic pressure gradient. As the Womersley number increases, the phase difference between the pressure gradient and the cross section averaged axial velocity becomes larger. In case of the Womersley number $\beta = 2$, when cross section averaged axial velocity reaches periodic state with time, the reverse and the natural flow coexist at phase angle, $\lambda = 1.44\pi$ and $\lambda =1.96\pi$. For all the Womersley numbers of present investigation, the time variation of wall temperature near inner wall is higher than that of near outer wall, independent of phase angle.

대동맥 판상부 협착증의 수술요법 (Surgical Treatment of Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis)

  • Supravalvular aortic stenosis is an uncommon, congenital narrowing of ascending aorta just above aortic valve. Eleven patients underwent an aortoplasty to relieve supravalvular aortic stenosis at Sejong General Hospital from July 1985 to December 1991. Age ranged from 5 to 14 years(median 9 years). There were 7 male and 4 female patients. Seven patients had characteristics of Williams' syndrome including elfin face and mental retardation. All patients had localized, hourglass type but 4 patients had atypical findings. Preoperative left ventricula-aortic pressure gradient ranged from 40 to 190 mmHg(mean 88 mmHg). To relieve severe supravalvular aortic stenosis, extended aortoplasty was used in 7 patients and standard aortoplasty in 4 patients. Postoperative pressure gradient ranged from 0 to 40 mmHg (mean 16.6 mmHg). Follow-up pressure gradient with Doppler ranged from 0 to 88mmHg(mean 32.5mmHg).

담수상태에 있어서 성층토양의 물의 침투에 관한 연구 (A Study on Permeability of Stratified soil in the Close State Under Existence of Stagnant Water.)

  • Following are the results of the study on the property of falling permeation of stratified soil in the close state under existence of stagnant water on a soil layer. 1. When on the stratified soil a least permeating layer was put on the soil layer the load Pressure was present owing to appearance of saturation close state driving decrease of the pressure in the lower layer, on the other hand when the least permeating layer was placed under the layer the lower least permeating layer pressure was decreased. 2. In the case of least permeating layer the variation of current gradient according to the respective level after treating the layer was enormous and due to usal storage phenomena for the Kl layer which was coarse that was trifle. 3. The permeability of the respective layer of stratified soil in the close state died not always coincide with that of single layer. 4. Generally Zunker's equation of average permeability was valid but actually calculated permeating velocity after treating the layer of stratified soil was seriously differ from the measured value owing to the variation of current gradient, especially when the pressure head at the layer boundany was discontinuous the validity of the equation of average permeability was seemed to be doubtful. 5. The permeating velocity of stratified soil was regulated by the least permeating layer, i.e. it is thought to be rational to estimate the value by calculating the current gradient with its proper permeability, pressure headon the layer and its thickness.

복합재 압력용기의 돔형상 설계에 따른 구조 해석 (A Study on the Structural Analysis with Geometry Design for Dome of a Composite Pressure Vessel)

  • 본 연구에서는 외부하중을 고려하여 Fulton과 Vasiliev가 제안한 돔형상 식을 적용하여 복합재 압력용기의 돔형상을 설계하고 해석하였다. 돔형상 설계변수로는 0.1 ~ 0.5 의 오프닝 반경비와 40kN ~ 200kN의 추력을 적용하고, 해석에는 상용 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 사용하였다. 복합재 압력용기 내면과 외면의 섬유방향 변형률을 계산한 결과, Fulton 돔의 경우 ${\rho}_0$가 커질수록 변형률 기울기가 작아지고, Vasiliev 돔은 뚜렷한 경향성이 나타나지 않는다. 또한 ${\rho}_0{\leq}0.1$일 경우 모든 추력에서 Fulton 돔이 변형률 기울기가 더 큰 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 0.1<${\rho}_0$<0.35인 경우 주어진 추력 범위에서 변형률 기울기가 역전되는 형상을 보이며, $0.35{\leq}{\rho}_0$에서는 모든 구역에서 Vasiliev 돔이 변형률 기울기가 더 크게 나타나 압력용기의 설계에 적용하는 것이 효과적이라고 판단된다. 또한 복합재 압력용기의 변형률 기울기로 인해 발생하는 수지균열을 고려한 돔형상 설계가 필수적이다.

탄저압력계수를 이용한 5.56mm 소총의 압력-이동거리 곡선 산출 (A Study on the Pressure-travel Curve of 5.56mm Rifle Obtained from the Empirical Base Pressure Factor)

  • As the propellant mass is being accelerated out of the gun chamber along with the projectile, a continuous pressure gradient exists between the end of chamber and the base of the projectile. For this reason, the base pressure-travel curve is very important to design a conventional gun barrel in the interior ballistics, but it is not obtained briefly by empirical or theoretical method. In this paper, a simple relation between chamber pressure and base pressure was determined by the factor of base pressure(Cb) obtained from the experimental method. The simple relation gives a reasonable prediction for the reduction of pressure between the breech and the base of projectile owing to the axial gradient in the gun tube. The predictions have been validated by the infrared screen sensor and the PRODAS(PROjectile Design and Analysis System) for interior ballistic systems. Therefore, the base pressure-travel curve could be calculated from the chamber pressure measured by piezoelectric sensor. The base pressure-travel curve obtained from the simple relation offers initial information to gun barrel designer and is used for calculation of muzzle velocity.

  • 마이크로 추진장치에서 노즐의 소형화는 많은 유동손실을 유발한다. 이러한 유동손실을 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 열적발산원리를 이용한 마이크로 추진장치에 대한 기초연구를 진행하였다. 움직이는 부품 없이 오직 온도구배만으로 추진제를 낮은 온도에서 높은 온도로 자체 펌핑이 가능한 열적발산장치를 설계, 제작 하였으며, 진공환경에서 누센수에 따른 맴브레인 압력구배효율을 분석하였다. 실험결과 천이영역에서는 두꺼운 맴브레인의 효율이 다소 높았으며, 자유분자영역에서는 두께에 관계없이 최대 압력구배 효율이 82%까지 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

이륜차 보호유리의 장착 기울기에 따른 이륜차 주위에서의 유동 해석 (Flow Analysis of Mounting Gradient of Protective Glass Around Motorcycle)

  • In this study, driving efficiency and the safety of motorcycle drivers due to the mounting gradient of motorcycle protective glass are investigated through flow analysis. Mounting gradients of motorcycle protective glass in models 1, 2, and 3 are $60^{\circ}$, $70^{\circ}$, and $80^{\circ}$, respectively. Wind velocity of 100 km/h is applied to the protective glass installed at the front of each model. The flow resistance values of models 2 and 3 are 1.2 and 1.5 times, respectively, that of model 1. The driving efficiency of model 1 is the highest among the three models. Pressure to the driver's face in models 2 and 3 is 1.2 times higher than in model 1. Because the pressure to the driver's face in model 1, with mounting gradient of $60^{\circ}$, is the lowest among the three models, model 1 is the safest. This result can be applied to improve the safety of motorcycle drivers.
