선박 거주구역의 방호를 위한 폐쇄형 미분무 노즐의 화재진압성능평가 연구 (A Study on Fire Extinguishing Performance of Closed Type Water Mist Nozzles for Ship's Accommodation)

  • 특수선(FPSO, Drillship)의 거주구역이나, 대형 여객선(크루즈선) 공간의 70% 이상을 차지하는 수용시설(accommodation), 공공장소, 서비스 구역 등은 24시간 사람이 상주하는 구역임으로 화재로부터 안전하게 보호되어야 한다. 이를 위해 국제해사기구(IMO)에서는 SOLAS II-2 Reg. 10.6과 FSS code Ch. 7에 적합한 미분무 소화설비를 설치할 것을 강제화하고 있다. 이러한 미분무 소화설비는 미분무 노즐, 압력용기, 섹션밸브, 펌프유닛 등으로 구성되는데 특히 핵심부품인 미분무 노즐은 최근에 개정된 IMO Res. MSC 265(84)에 따라 노즐성능시험 및 화재진압성능시험을 통해 선급인증을 득해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 기준을 만족하는 폐쇄형 미분무 노즐을 개발하고 선실 및 복도, 공공장소, 창고에 대한 화재시험을 통해 각 장소에 적용 가능한 총 5종의 미분무노즐의 성능평가를 실시하였다.

  • Since the nuclear power plants in Korea have been operated in 1979, the nondestructive testing (NDT) of pressure vessels and/or piping welds plays an important role for maintaining the safety and integrity of the plants. Ultrasonic method is superior to the other NDT method in the viewpoint of the detectability of small flaw and accuracy to determine the locations, sizes, orientations, and shapes. As the service time of the nuclear power plants is increased, the radiation level from the components is getting higher. In order to get more quantitative and reliable results and secure the inspector from the exposure to high radiation level, automation of the ultrasonic equipments has been one of the important research and development(R & D) subject. In this research, it was attempted to visualize the shape of flaws presented inside the specimen using a Modified C-Scan technique. In order to develope Modified C-Scan technique, an automatic ultrasonic scanner and a module to control the scanner were designed and fabricated. IBM-PC/XT was interfaced to the module to control the scanner. Analog signals from the SONIC MARK II were digitized by Analog-Digital Converter(ADC 0800) for Modified C-Scan display. A computer program has been developed and has capability of automatic data acquisition and processing from the digital data, which consist of maximum amplitudes in each gate range and locations. The data from Modified C-Scan results was compared with shape from artificial defects using the developed system. Focal length of focused transducer was measured. The automatic ultrasonic equipment developed through this study is essential for more accurate, reliable, and repeatable ultrasonic experiments. If the scanner are modified to meet to appropriate purposes, it can be applied to automation of ultrasonic examination of nuclear power plants and helpful to the research on ultrasonic characterization of the materials.

탄템 GMA 용접공정의 표면비드높이 예측을 위한 STACO모델 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of STACO Model to Predict Bead Height in Tandem GMA Welding Process)

  • One of the main challenges of the automatic arc welding process which has been widely used in various constructions such as steel structures, bridges, autos, motorcycles, construction machinery, ships, offshore structures, pressure vessels, and pipelines is to create specific welding knowledge and techniques with high quality and productivity of the production-based industry. Commercially available automated arc welding systems use simple control techniques that focus on linear system models with a small subset of the larger set of welding parameters, thereby limiting the number of applications that can be automated. However, the correlations of welding parameters and bead geometry as welding quality have mostly been linked by a trial and error method to adjust the welding parameters. In addition, the systematic correlation between these parameters have not been identified yet. To solve such problems, a new or modified models to determine the welding parameters for tandem GMA (Gas Metal Arc) welding process is required. In this study, A new predictive model called STACO model, has been proposed. Based on the experimental results, STACO model was developed with the help of a standard statistical package program, MINITAB software and MATLAB software. Cross-comparative analysis has been applied to verify the reliability of the developed model.

신원방우황청심원의 심혈관계에 관한 약효 (Pharmacological Actions of New Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Pill on Cardiovascular System)

  • In order to investigate the pharmacologic properties of New Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Pill(NSCH), effects of Wonbang Woohwangchungsimwon Pill (SCH) and NSCH were compared using various experimental models. In rat aorta, NSCH and SCH made the relaxation of blood vessels in maximum contractile response to phenylephrine (10-6 M) regardless to endothelium containing or denuded rings of the rat aorta. Furthermore, the presence of the inhibitors of NO synthase and guanylate cyclase did not affect significantly the relaxing effects of NSCH and SCH. NSCH and SCH inhibited the vascular contractions induced by acetylcholine, prostaglandin endoperoxide or peroxide in a dose-dependent manner. In conscious spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs), NSCH and SCH decreased significantly heart rate. These, at high doses, had a negative inotropic effects that was a decrease of left ventricular developed pressure and (-dp/dt)/(+dp/dt) in the isolated perfused rat hearts, and also decreased the contractile force and heart rate in the isolated rat right atria. In guinea-pig papillary muscle, these had no effects on parameters of action potential such as action potential amplitude (APA), $V_{max}$ and resting membrane potential (RMP) at low doses, whereas inhibitory the cardiac contractility at high doses. Furthermore, these had a significant inhibitory effects on palpitation of the heart in normotensive rats and SHRs. These had a significant inhibitory effects on palpitation of the heart in normotensive rats and SHRs. These results suggest that NSCH and SCH have weak cardiovascular effects, and that there is no significant differences between cardiovascular effects of two preparations.

새로운 Anthracycline계 항암제 DA-125의 일반약리작용 (General Pharmacology of DA-125, A New Anthracycline Anticancer Agent)

  • The general pharmacological effects of a new anthracycline anticancer agent, DA-125 $[7-0-(2,\;6-dideoxy-2-fluoro-{\alpha}-L-talopyranosyl)-adriamycinone-14-{\beta}-alaninate{\cdot}HCI]$ were investigated in mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs. Intravenous administration of DA-125 presented no significant effects on the central and peripheral nervous systems of ICR mice except a decrease in the numbers of acetic acid-induced writhing response at a dose of 10 mg/kg. In anesthetized rats and dogs, DA-125 produced a transient depression of blood pressure and an increase in heart rate, but did not affect the peripheral blood flow in the isolated ear vessels of rabbits and the mechanical functions of the isolated hearts of guinea pigs. No significant effects were observed on the gastrointestinal functions and the contractilities of smooth muscle preparations obtained from guinea pig trachea, rabbit ileum, pregnant and non-pregnant uterus and vas deferens of rats. DA-125 Increased the contractility of the isolated ileum of guinea pigs in a dose range of $10^{-6}{\sim}10^{-9}g/ml$, and also increased, but weaker than adriamycin, the vascular permeability in rat skin. DA-125 had no effect on the kallikrein-induced increase in permeability and the permeability of the visceral organs. DA-125 did not adversely affect the liver function and the blood coagulation system, and did not induce hemolysis in vitro. It is concluded from the results that the general pharmachological effects of DA-125 are similar to or weaker than those of adriamycin, and that little adverse effects are anticipated with a therapeutic dose range.

여성들의 찜질방 이용 현상에 관한 일상 생활 기술적 연구

  • The ZZimzilbang is a room where many women eagerly go due to the special meaning women give to it related to their health. It is a different type of sauna room which maintains low degree of temperature, consisting of an Ondol room(Korean under-floor heating system, hypocaust) built with mineral stone radiating ultrared rays. Even though many women mention that they utilize it for health, there is no precise evidence of the effects on their health. This ethnographic study sought to define the phenomenon from the perspective of the women who experienced the ZZimzilbang. A convenience sample of 27 women was interviewed during a 15 month period from December 1995 to July 1997 in 12 ZZimzilbangs located in Seoul, Korea. The mean ages of the women 57.3 years ; seventeen women were housekeeper and only eight women had job : twenty women were married and three women among them were widows. The main reasons women patronize the place are : for mitigation and healing of physical signs and symptoms : composure ; safe lodging and boarding : control of outward appearance : control of health ; meeting and fellowship with friends : and custom. The outcomes of the utilization of the place were : mitigation of physical signs and symptoms : psychological tranquility : cosmetic and diet ; good use of spare time : and utilization of services provided there. Most women who visited ZZimzilbang for relief of physical signs and symptoms strongly mentioned a correlation to inadequate Sanhujori, the traditional postpartal and postabortal care for woman. Some of specific kinds of services provided in that place were alternative therapy such as acupuncture, negative cupping, finger-pressure, mugwort steam and various kinds of massage including massage of blood vessels that are influenced by Oriental medicine ; health education of breathing such as abdominal breathing or Danjeon(단전호흡) : and selling of many things including health foods, drugs for osteoporosis, and eutrophics. This study suggests that professional caregivers should further study this phenomenon for the development of adequate care of women with a resulting important in their quality of life.

가미자음강화탕(加味滋陰降火湯)이 SHR의 혈압에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Kamijaeumganghwatang(KJI) on Hypertension)

  • Objective : This study was done to investigate the effect of KJT on hypertension. Methods : Spontaneous Hypertensive Rats were sensitized and challenged with Kamijaeumganghwatang(KJT) for 5 weeks. Experimental group was treated with $200mg/day/2m{\ell}$ of KJT orally and control group was treated with $2m{\ell}/day$ of normal saline instead. Results : 1. KJT significantly showed significant protection against cytotoxicity and toxicity in the liver and the kidney. 2. KJT significantly decreased the blood pressure in SHR. 3. KJT significantly decreased the levels of aldosterone in SHR. 4. KJT significantly decreased the levels of dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine in SHR. 5. KJT significantly decreased the levels of sodium and potassium in SHR, but it did not decrease the levels of chloride in SHR. Levels of calcium in SHR increased, but only insignificantly. 6. KJT significantly decreased the levels of IL-6 in SHR, and significantly increased the levels of IL-10 in SHR. 7. For histological effects, KJT dillated capillary vessels in the kidney, significantly decreased eosinophilic changes in heart cells, and significantly decreased endothelial damage in the aorta. Conclusion: These results suggest that KJT is useful in treatment of hypertension.

Characterization of $ET_B$ Receptor-mediated Relaxation in Precontracted Mesenteric Artery from Streptozotocin-induced Diabetic Rats

  • Diabetes mellitus is associated with vascular complications, including an impairment of vascular function and alterations in the reactivity of blood vessels to vasoactive substances in various vasculature. In the present study, the authors have observed endothelin-B ($ET_B$) receptor agonist-induced relaxation in precontracted mesenteric arterial segments from streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats, which was not shown from control rats or in other arterial segments from diabetic rats. Accordingly, the goal of this study was to investigate in what way STZ-induced diabetes altered reactivity of the mesenteric arterial bed and to examine the causal relaxation, if any, between this $ET_B$ receptor-mediated relaxation and endothelial paracrine function, especially nitric oxide (NO) production. The relaxation induced by $ET_B$ agonists was not observed in mesenteric arteries without endothelium. The relaxation to $ET_B$ agonists was completely abolished by pretreatment with BQ788, but not by BQ610. $N_{\omega}-nitro-L-arginine$ methyl ester and soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitors, methylene blue or LY83583 significantly attenuated the relaxant responses to $ET_B$ agonists, respectively. When the expression of eNOS and iNOS was evaluated on agarose gel stained with ethidium bromide, the expression of eNOS mRNA in diabetic rats was significantly decreased, but the expression of iNOS was increased compared with control rats. Furthermore, the iNOS-like immunostaining was densely detected in the endothelium and slightly in the arterial smooth muscle of diabetic rats, but not in control rats. These observations suggest that $ET_B$ receptor may not play a role in maintaining mesenteric vascular tone in normal situation. However, the alterations in $ET_B$ receptor sensitivity were found in diabetic rats and lead to the $ET_B$ agonist-induced vasorelaxation, which is closely related to NO production. In the state of increased vascular resistance of diabetic mesenteric vascular bed, enhanced NO production by activation of iNOS could lead to compensatory vasorelaxation to modulate adequate perfusion pressure to splanchnic area.

  • 두께가 얇고 길이가 긴 튜브 제품을 생산하기 위한 방법으로 유동성형 공정이 많이 이용되고 있으며 이는 다른 가공방법에 비해 성형력이 작고 유동성형에 의해 가공된 제품의 기계적인 강도가 우수하며 가공 후 표면 품질이 좋기 때문이다. 특히 유동성형은 로켓 모터 케이스, 연소기, 유압 실린더 그리고 고압용기 등과 같은 고정밀도의 두께가 얇은 실린더 제품을 생산하기 위한 적합한 공정이다. 본 논문에서는 3개의 롤러를 가지는 전후방 유동성형에 대한 유한요소해석을 통해 가공깊이와 가공속도가 성형력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 다양한 가공깊이와 가공속도 조건에서 얻어진 전후방 유동성형에서의 축방향과 반경방향의 성형력을 비교하였다.

추진시험설비의 사고피해영향분석 및 리스크 감소방안 (Consequence Analysis and Risk Reduction Methods for Propulsion Test Facility)

  • 한국형발사체 개발을 위한 추진시험설비가 구축되고 있으며, 일부 시험설비는 구축이 완료되어 추진기관시험을 실시하고 있다. 추진시험설비의 구성은 엔진 시험체 등의 시험을 실시하는 테스트 스탠드와 추진제로 사용되는 케로신(Jet A-1) 및 액체산소(LOX) 등을 저장하는 설비 등 다양한 서브시스템과 부품들이 연결되어 있다. 테스트 스탠드는 엔진개발모델이 장착되고 추진제가 혼합되어 실제 연소가 이루어지는 곳으로서 큰 에너지긴장도 상태에서 고압으로 작동되는 추진시험설비의 특성상 화재 폭발의 위험성이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 추진시험설비의 사고피해영향분석 및 리스크 감소방안을 수립하기 위하여, 테스트 스텐드에서의 추진제 누설사고 시나리오를 가정하고, TNT당량모델 실험식을 적용하여 폭발과압에 대한 사고피해영향을 분석하였고, 추진시험설비의 안전성 확보를 위한 리스크 감소방안에 대하여 기술적, 제도적, 관리적 안전대책에 대하여 제시하였다.
