세라믹 다이어프램을 이용한 정전용량형 후막 스트레인 게이지 (Development of piezocapacitive thick film strain gage based on ceramic diaphragm)

  • Thick film mechanical sensors can be categorized into four main areas piezoresistive, piezoelectric, piezocapastive and mechanic tube. In this areas, the thick film strain gage is the earliest example of a primary sensing element based on the substrates. The latest thick film sensor is used various pastes that have been specifically developed for pressure sensor application. The screen printing technique has been used to fabricate the pressure sensors on alumina substrate($Al_2O_3$). Thick film capacitive of strain sensing characteristics are reported and dielectric paste based on (Ti+Ba) materials. The electric property of dielectric paste has been studied and exhibit good properly with good gage factor comparable to piezoresistive strain gage. New piezocapacitive strain sensor was designed and tested. The output of capacitive value was good characteristics.

  • In this paper, we presents the construction details and output characteristics of a thick film piezoresistive strain gage. The thick film was printed on the ceramic diaphragm back side by screen printing and cured at 850$^{\circ}C$. The strain distribution and deflection on ceramic diaphragm were performed with finite-element method(FEM tool ANSYS-5.3). Various thick film strain gage characteristics were analysed, including nonlinearity, hysteresis, stability and sensitivity of thick film strain gages.

  • Strain gages were widely used transducers. Essentially a strain gage was an electric element to which an appropriate type was attached. Strain was sensed by gages and provided electrical output proportional to applied forced. This paper describes the recent development of a thick film strain gage ceramic pressure sensors. The thick film resistors as strain gage in the Wheatstone bridge were fabricated with a novel mixture of ruthenium. The thick-film technology of resistors were printed on the ceramic diaphragm back side by screen printing and cured at $850^{\circ}C$. The mechanical measurements were performed with the computer simulation results(ANSYS 5.1). The output sensitivity was 1.2mV/V, of which max. nonlinearity was less than 0.29%, hysteresis was less than 0.38%FS.

  • 본 연구는 신뢰성 향상 기반의 풍압센서 자동검사 시스템을 구현하기 위한 연구이다. 신뢰성향상을 위해 수동검사 시스템에서 자동검사 시스템으로 풍압세서 검사의 오류를 최소화한다. 풍압센서 자동검사 시스템은 제어시스템과 모니터링시스템으로 구성되어 되어 실시간으로 검사결과를 제공한다. 검사시스템의 신뢰성은 Gage R&R 분석기법을 적용하여 평가한다, 평가결과는 검사속도 2배 이상, 측정오차 ${\pm}0.02V$, 판정 능력의 유효성 15%, 누락확률 17%, 허위경보확률 12% 등으로 향상되었다. 따라서 풍압센서 자동검사 시스템은 제품 바코드와 연동시켜 데이터베이스화하면 효율적인 신뢰성 향상의 품질관리시스템으로 발전시킬 수 있다.

In this areas, the thick film strain gage is the earliest example of a primary sensing element based on the substrates. The latest thick film sensor is used various pastes that have been specifically developed for pressure sensor application. Some elastic materials exhibit a change in bulk resistivity when they are subjected to displacement by an applied pressure. This property is referred to as piezoresistivity and is a major factor influencing the sensitivity of a piezoresistive strain gage. The effect of thick film resistors was first noticed in the early 1970, as described by Holmes in his paper in 1973.

  • A pressure sensor is a sensing device to perceive inputing pressure and convert pressure with an electric signal. Currently, a domestic pressure sensor mostly uses mechanical methods. So, it uses many parts and its cost is high. Therefore, It is necessary to improve the weak points of an existing pressure sensor and develop the accurate and reliable pressure sensor using piezo resistance strain gages.

  • The production of hydrogen fuel depends basically on the water electrolysis. The ultrasonic effects the decrease of the overpotential in a water electrolysis. A study on the overpotential which activates the hydrogen production is the core to elevate the hydrogen production efficiency on the principle. A pressure sensor system by a new idea is developed and applied. Solutions are 4 kinds of KOH concentration such as 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. Two frequency bands of the ultrasonic transducer are 28kHz and 2MHz. The directions of ultrasonic forcing are the vertical direction and the horizontal direction. The temperatures are two states, i.e., no constant and constant. Experiments are carried out sequentially in order in three cases of no ultrasonic forcing, ultrasonic forcing, and ultrasonic discontinution. In results, it is clarified that the ultrasonic effects the decrease of overpotential to elevate the efficiency of hydrogen production.

압력센서 개발을 위한 탄소 나노 튜브 기반 지능형 복합소재 전왜 특성 연구 (A Study on Piezoresistive Characteristics of Smart Nano Composites based on Carbon Nanotubes for a Novel Pressure Sensor)

  • This paper presents a preliminary study on the pressure sensing characteristics of smart nano composites made of MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotube) to develop a novel pressure sensor. We fabricated the composite pressure sensor by using a solution casting process. Made of carbon smart nano composites, the sensor works by means of piezoresistivity under pressure. We built a signal processing system similar to a conventional strain gage system. The sensor voltage outputs during the experiment for the pressure sensor and the resistance changes of the MWCNT as well as the epoxy based on the smart nano composite under static pressure were fairly stable and showed quite consistent responses under lab level tests. We confirmed that the response time characteristics of MWCNT nano composites with epoxy were faster than the MWCNT/EPDM sensor under static loads.

  • As pressure transducers are employed in many fields such as production facilities, test facilities vehicles and industrial machinery, there is an increasing need for high precision measurement of pressure without any calibration or maintenance.   • 정전용량형 후막 스트레인 게이지(piezocapacitive thick film strain gage)는 세라믹 ($Al_2O_3$)을 주 원료로 하는 지지대(약 5mm)와 다이어프램(약 $300{\mu}m$) 그리고 가드 링으로 구성된다. 전극 판은 도전성 페이스트를 이용하여 지지대와 다이어프램에 형성되었으며 극판 사이에는 유전체 메이스트를 사용하여 스크린 인쇄로 후막을 형성하였다. 극판 사이의 가드 링 두께는 약 $30{\mu}m$정도로 다이어프램의 변위 최대값을 유지시키는 데 필요한 간격이다. 따라서 정전용랑형 후막 스트레인 게이지는 지지대를 중심으로 다이어프램에 압력 (0.5~1.0bar)이 인가될 때 변위를 발생시키면서 커패시터 값이 압력의 크기에 따라 비례 특성을 가지고 변화하는 것을 이용한 것이다. 압력이 없을때 초기값은 35pF~40pF 정도이고 정격압력의 최대치를 인가시켰을 때 약 55pF~55p를 나타내었다.
