자동차 엔진의 혼합연료가 엔진 성능과 배기가스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Engine Performance and Emission of Gasoline-Methanol Blend in Vehicle Engine)

  • The engine performance and combustion characteristics of methanol blended fuel of spark ignition engine were discussed on the basics of experimental investigation. The effects of methanol blending fuel on combustion in cylinder were investigated under various conditions of engine cycle and blending fuel on combustion in cylinder were investigated tinder various conditions of engine cycle and blending ratios. The results showed thai the engine performance was influenced by the methanol blending ratio and the variations of operating conditions test engine. The increase of fuel temperature brought on the improvement of combustion characteristics such as cylinder pressure. the rate of pressure rise and heat release in an engine. The burning rate of fuel-air mixture, the exhaust emissions and the other characteristics of performance were discussed also.

  • 최근 유가 상승 및 지구 온난화에 대한 온실가스의 규제 강화로 인해 국내 천연가스 수요가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 국내 천연가스 시장의 공급 안전성을 높이기 위하여, 2008년 한국가스공사와 Gazprom 간에 러시아 파이프라인 천연가스 공급에 관한 협약서를 체결하기도 했다. 러시아 PNG 도입계획이 본격화되어 천연가스가 도입되면 겨울철에 가스 수요가 집중되는 국내의 경우엔 천연가스 수급 균형을 위하여 지하저장시설이 필수적으로 요구될 것이다. 본 연구는 암반등급, 토피고, 저장압력, 현지측압계수(Ko)를 변수로 하여 천연가스 저장 공동의 안정성을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 제안된 설계변수에 따른 저장 공동의 거동을 파악하기 위해 축대칭 조건을 사용하여 2차원 응력해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과 전단강도/전단응력으로 정의된 공동의 안전율은 심도, 암반등급 및 저장압력에 크게 영향을 받았으나 측압계수의 영향은 거의 없었다.

반응 메커니즘 기반의 수소 첨가 바이오가스 HCCI 엔진 성능 및 배출가스에 대한 수치 해석적 연구 (Numerical analysis on performances and emission characteristics of HCCI engine fueled with hydrogen added biogas)

  • 본 연구에서는 바이오가스 기반 예혼합 압축착화(Homogeneous charged compression ignition, HCCI) 엔진에 수소를 첨가하였을 때, 연소실 내부 압력, 온도 배출가스에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보았다. 자세히는 수소 첨가량과 과다공기량(${\lambda}$) 변화에 따른 연소실 압력 온도, 그리고 생성물로서의 NO, $CO_2$ 배출 특성을 화학 반응 해석 프로그램을 사용하여 고찰하였다. 대상의 엔진은 2300cc 바이오가스 엔진 발전기로서 압축비 13:1, 발전량 15kW 급이다. 과급압은 1.2bar 고정 조건이며, rpm은 1800rpm의 정속 조건이다. 엔진 연소 방식은 예혼합 압축 착화를 모사하였다. 본 연구를 진행하기에 앞서 바이오가스의 주요 조성인 메탄의 연소 및 산화 메커니즘에 대한 선행 연구에 대한 고찰을 통하여 연소반응 메커니즘을 규명하기 위한 반응 메커니즘 연구 기술의 경향을 살펴보고, 본 연구에 적용 가능한 반응 메커니즘을 선정하여 해석을 진행하였다. 수소를 첨가할 때 NO는 증가하는 반면, $CO_2$등의 배출량은 감소하였고 실린더 내부 압력이 상승하며, 상승 구간이 진각 됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 희박영역에서 수소 첨가가 가연 한계를 증가시켰다.

Assessment of the swelling potential of Baghmisheh marls in Tabriz, Iran

  • Tabriz is a large Iranian city and the capital of the East Azerbaijan province. The bed rock of this city is mainly consisted of marl layers. Marl layers have some outcrops in the northern and eastern parts of city that mainly belong to the Baghmisheh formation. Based on their colors, these marls are classified into three types: yellow, green, and gray marls. The city is developing toward its eastern side wherein various civil projects are under construction including tunnels, underground excavation, and high-rise building. In this regard, the swelling behavior assessment of these marls is of critical importance. Also, in lightweight structures with foundation pressure less than swelling pressure, several problems such as walls cracking and jamming of door and windows may occur. In the present study, physical properties and swelling behavior of Baghmisheh marls are investigated. According to the X-ray diffractometer (XRD) results, the marls are mainly composed of Illite, Kaolinite, Montmorillonite, and Chloride minerals. Type and content of clay minerals and initial void ratio have a decisive role in swelling behavior of these marls. The swelling potential of these marls was investigated using one-dimensional odometer apparatus under stress level up to 10 kPa. The results showed that yellow marls have high swelling potential and expansibility compared to the other marls. In addition, green and gray marls showed intermediate and low swelling potential and swelling pressure, respectively.

타원형 돔 지붕의 변동풍압특성 (Fluctuating Pressure Coefficients Distributions for Elliptical Dome Roof)

  • The fluctuating wind pressure of the low rise ratio(f/D=0.1) for the elliptical dome roof was analyzed to compare it with the previous studies of circular dome roofs. Wind tunnel test were conducted on a total of 10 wind directions from 0° to 90° while changing wall height-span ratios(H/D=0.1-0.5). For this, meanCP, rmsCP and wind pressure spectrum were analyzed. The analysis result leads to find differences in the shape of the spectra in the spanwise direction and leeward of the elliptical dome according to the wind direction variations of the elliptical dome roof.

Towards guidelines for design of loose-laid roof pavers for wind uplift

  • Hurricanes are among the most costly natural hazards to impact buildings in coastal regions. Building roofs are designed using the wind load provisions of building codes and standards and, in the case of large buildings, wind tunnel tests. Wind permeable roof claddings like roof pavers are not well dealt with in many existing building codes and standards. The objective of this paper is to develop simple guidance in code format for design of loose-laid roof pavers. Large-scale experiments were performed to investigate the wind loading on concrete roof pavers on the flat roof of a low-rise building in Wall of Wind, a large-scale hurricane testing facility at Florida International University. They included wind blow-off tests and pressure measurements on the top and bottom surfaces of pavers. Based on the experimental results simplified guidelines are developed for design of loose-laid roof pavers against wind uplift. The guidelines are formatted so that use can be made of the existing information in codes and standards such as American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) 7-10 standard's pressure coefficients for components and cladding. The effects of the pavers' edge-gap to spacer height ratio and parapet height to building height ratio are included in the guidelines as adjustment factors.

Reverse uni-flow 소기방식을 갖는 2행정 프리피스톤 수소기관의 역화 현상에 관한 연구 (The Characteristics of Backfire for a Free-Piston Hydrogen Fueled Engine with Reverse Uni-flow Scavenging)

  • In order to develop two-stroke free-piston hydrogen engine to obtain high thermal efficiency and low emission, backfire occurrence have to be prevented. In this research, backfire characteristics are analyzed as functions of the intake valve opening timing and compression chamber pressure under piston by using RICEM (Rapid Intake Compression Expansion Machine) that has reverse uni-flow scavenging. As the result, reverse uni-flow scavenging is advantage about back fire. but, it exists suitable intake valve opening timing and its timing become known that equivalence ratio 1 retard until the piston rises. Also, To rise chamber pressure of lower piston, this does not cause backfire occurs in equivalent ratio 0.6 observed back fire. Therefore, 2cycle hydrogen fueled free-piston engine is undesirable scavenging compression by compressing the piston.

지구온난화에 의한 북서태평양 및 한반도 근해의 해수면 상승 (Sea Level Rise due to Global Warming in the Northwestern Pacific and Seas around the Korean Peninsula)

  • 지구온난화로 인한 북서태평양 및 한반도 근해의 미래 해수면 상승을 IPCC AR4 기후 예측모델들의 결과를 이용하여 조사하였다. 본 연구에서는 대부분의 기후모델에서 제시하지 않은 지역적인 열팽창에 의한 해수면 상승을 3차원 수온과 염분 자료를 이용한 역학고도의 계산을 통해 분석하였다. 해수면 자료의 분석결과, 열팽창을 고려한 북서태평양 및 한반도 근해의 해수면 상승률은 전 지구 평균보다 최대 두 배까지 높게 나타났다. 특히, 쿠로시오 확장지역에서 가장 높은 해수면 상승 경향을 보였다. 열팽창을 고려한 A1B 시나리오에 의한 MPI_ECHAM5와 GFDL_CM2.1 모델 결과에서는 향후 100년 동안 북서태평양에서 각각 24 cm와 28 cm 그리고 한반도 근해에서 27 cm와 31 cm의 해수면이 상승하는 것으로 예측되었다. 통계분석 결과, 이러한 해수면 상승은 겨울철 시베리아 고기압의 약화와 북서태평양 해역의 기압장 변화 그리고 이로 인한 바람장 및 해류의 변화로 발생한 수온변화가 그 원인으로 분석된다. 특히, 쿠로시오 확장지역의 북상에 따른 수온 변화가 북서태평양에서 가장 큰 해수면 상승을 유발한 것으로 사료된다.

New Electrode Shape for High Xe-content Gas in AC PDP

  • One of the most important issues in AC PDP is the improvement of luminous efficiency. One possible method for achieving this aim is by increasing Xe partial pressure in discharge gas mixture. The increase of Xe ratio, however, causes the driving voltage to rise, even if brightness is increased. In this study, a new electrode shape is proposed. A test panel fabricated by using a new electrode shows that efficacy has improved by 25 % and sustain voltage has decreased by 20 % compared with the conventional structure.

Reaction of $FeC_5H_5^+$ Ion with Neutral Ferrocene: The Dependence of Reaction Pathways on Its Internal Energy

  • The reaction of FeC5H5+ ion with ferrocene molecule is investigated using FT-ICR mass spectrometry. FeC5H5+ ions are generated by dissociative ionization of ferrocenes using an electron beam. The reaction gives rise to the formation of the adduct ion, Fe2(C5H5)3+, in competition with charge transfer reaction leading to the formation of ferrocene molecular ion, Fe(C5H5)2+·. The branching ratio of the adduct ion increases as the internal energy of the reactant ion decreases and correspondingly the branching ratio for the charge transfer reaction product decreases. The observed rate of the addition reaction channel is slower than that of the charge transfer reaction. The observation of the stable adduct ions in the low-pressure ICR cell is attributed to the radiative cooling of the activated ion-molecule complex. The mechanism of the reaction is presented to account for the observed experimental results.
