  • This study is aimed at developing an index and indicator in the light of social factors by analyzing the basic materials on Korean working conditions survey to make it possible to grasp various working environment factors consequent on business type and to judge the industrial safety & health policy of the related area. For the purpose of developing an index, this study was conducted by benchmarking the OECD-suggested index development guidelines and overseas cases of index development. This study suggested indexes related to health by benchmarking OECD's press-state-response model. The press-state health-related indexes specified in Korean working condtions survey were found to consist of physical risk environment, working hours, business environment, and social environment, and its consequent 'state' items were comprised of mental health, physical health, absence from work due to health problems and work satisfaction as health-related items. As a result, it was found that the 'press-state index' for wage worker, regular employee, manager, clerks, expert & related personnel involved, and workers aged under 50 was relatively good; in contrast, the 'press-state index' for people aged over 50, owner-operator, daily job, skilled position in agriculture & fisheries, simple labor service, and apparatus & machines assembly worker was found to be relatively vulnerable.

  • The paper describes the work of the Working Group on Wind Structure, one of the International Codification Working Groups set up by the International Association of Wind Engineering in 1999. The topics of terrain and exposure, shielding and shelter, topographic effects, tropical cyclone and hurricane wind structure, and thunderstorm wind structure, are described with emphasis on their codification in wind loading codes and standards. Recommendations from the working group are given.

  • A criterion and a method for solving a problem on the prevention of mine working fracture under the action of tectonic and gravitational forces are offered. Based on minimal criterion, theoretical analysis of the definition of the optimal shape of working in the rock mass weakened by arbitrarily located rectilinear cracks was carried out. A closed system of algebraic equations allowing to minimize the stress state and stress intensity factors depending on mechanical and geometrical characteristics of the rock, is constructed. The relation between the shape of the working and the stress intensity factors and also location and sizes of the cracks is obtained. The found optimal shape of working increases load-bearing capacity of the rock.

The Influence of the Environmental Conditions, the Political Tendency and the Degree of Freedom during Performance on the Perception of Journalists on the Quality of the Press (뉴스생산 환경 및 조직과 기자의 정치적 성향, 업무 수행 자유도가 언론의 전문성, 공정성 인식에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study explores what are the factors which influence the perception of press professionalism and fairness of journalist in the process of their news production. This study focused on how the difference between mainstream media and online media, the political tendency and the degree of freedom during working effected on the judgement of the freedom of press based on the model of Shoemaker and Reese' hierarchical model. As a result, Research finding is as follows: First, online media journalist evaluated the fairness of press higher than offline media journalists. Second, the consistency of political tendency of offline media is different from online media. Online media journalists evaluated the fairness of the press higher than offline media journalists. Finally, the degree of freedom during performance is the most importance factor which affects the evaluation of press fairness. This study highlights the factors which influence the perception of journalists on the quality of the press based on the survey data which have conducted by Korean press foundation This study implicates how working environment is importance in journalist's writing as a journalist. The freedom of press is very important in the process of news production because the factors which influence the evaluation of the fairness and the professionalism of press reveals the quality of press.

  • A temporary structure is a framework of metal poles and planks, used as a working platform from which building repairs or construction can be carried out safety. The manufacturing process of the existing model consumes a many hour. So, it is modified manufacturing process. In this study, it is attempted to find out the shape of modified working platform considering manufacturing process and using Taguchi method, and it reduces production process. The design parameters are defined to discribe shape of model. As a result of the shape design, maximum Von-Mises stress and displacement considering a safety factor were satisfied with CTEA (Construction Temporary Equipment Association of Korea) standard.

  • This paper deals with automated computer-aided process planning by which designers can determine operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of press working products. The computer-aided process planning in hot forging, deep drawing and blanking requires many kinds of technical and empirical skills based on investigation and collection of the knowledge of their processes. An approach to the CAPP system is based on the knowledge-based rules and the process knowledge base consisting of process planning rules is built. The methodology adopted to develop the system is elaborated in this paper. This system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD with a personal computer and provides powerful capabilities for process planning of hot forging, cold forging, deep drawing and blanking products.

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis and improve working posture using hazard factor analyzing tools. SI(The Strain Index) came up with the conclusion that RWDR1 and RWDR3 was a dangerous job, but not as dangerous as RWDR2. According to REBA. RWDR3 required some improvements; A mat to prevent fatigue(WIRE/PRESS 2), electric bogie(RWDR1), and waist/wrist protector(RWDR3). Additionally a correct sitting posture m WIRE/PRESS1 and stretching on a regular basis in RWDR2 were recommended.

  • The multiforming progressive die are multiple operations performed by means of a die having above two stages, jon the each of stages performs a different operation as the sheet metal passes through the die hole. In the field of design and making tool for press working, the progressive die for sheet metal (SPC, thickness :2mm) is a specific division. In order to prevent the defects, the optimum design of the production part, strip layout, die design, die making and tryout etc. are necessary. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, i.e. theory an practice of metal press working and its phenomena, die structure, machining condition for die making, die materials, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a multiforming progressive die as a U-bending working of multi-stage and performed try out. out of these processes the die development could be taken for advance. Especially the result of tryout and its analysis become the characteristics of this paper (part 1 and part 2) that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on all the processes. In the par 1 of this study we treated die design mostly.
