투과 단층촬영에서 공간가변 평활화를 사용한 경계보존 반복연산 재구성 (Edge-Preserving Iterative Reconstruction in Transmission Tomography Using Space-Variant Smoothing)

  • Penalized-likelihood (PL) reconstruction methods for transmission tomography are known to provide improved image quality for reduced dose level by efficiently smoothing out noise while preserving edges. Unfortunately, however, most of the edge-preserving penalty functions used in conventional PL methods contain at least one free parameter which controls the shape of a non-quadratic penalty function to adjust the sensitivity of edge preservation. In this work, to avoid difficulties in finding a proper value of the free parameter involved in a non-quadratic penalty function, we propose a new adaptive method of space-variant smoothing with a simple quadratic penalty function. In this method, the smoothing parameter is adaptively selected for each pixel location at each iteration by using the image roughness measured by a pixel-wise standard deviation image calculated from the previous iteration. The experimental results demonstrate that our new method not only preserves edges, but also suppresses noise well in monotonic regions without requiring additional processes to select free parameters that may otherwise be included in a non-quadratic penalty function.

효과적인 워터마크 신호의 생성과 보호 및 터보코딩을 이용한 전송채널상에서의 화질 보존 (Generation and Protection of Efficient Watermark Signals and Image Quality Preservation in Transmission Channel Using Turbo Coding)

  • In this paper, an implementation method of the efficient image transmission stage using watermarking and channel ceding is proposed. Usually, image communication system consists of both a transmitter part and a receiver part. The transmitter part takes charge of copyright protection of the generated image data, and image coding and compression that can deal with channel noises when transmitting. In the transmitter part, we propose a channel coding method which protects both the watermark signal and the original signal for protecting the copyright of image data and solving channel noises when transmitting. Firstly, copyright protection of image data is conducted. For this, image structure analysis is performed, and both the improvement of image quality and the generation of the watermark signal are made. Then, the histogram is constructed and the watermark signals are selected from this. At this stage, by embedding of the coefficients of curve fittness into the lower 4 bits of the image data pixels, image quality degradation due to the embedding of watermark signals are prevented. Finally, turbo coding, which has the most efficient error correction capability in error correction codes, has been conducted to protect signals of watermark and preserved original image quality against noises on the transmission channel. Particularly, a new interleaving method named "semi random inter]easer" has been proposed.

영상자료센터 건립사업의 경제적 편익 (The benefit analysis of constructing the visual conservation center)

  • 영상자료센터는 필름이나 디지털영상물과 같은 영상자료의 보존을 위한 시설로서 현재 건립사업이 고려되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내외 문헌에서 비시장재의 주된 가치평가기법으로 사용되고 있는 조건부가치평가법 (Contingent Valuation Method, CVM)을 이용하여 일반 국민이 영상자료센터 건립사업에 부여하는 경제적 편익을 추정한다. 분석에 사용된 설문조사자료는 7대 광역시에서 일대일 개인면접으로 수집되었으며, 추정모형은 로짓모형이 사용되었다. 분석결과, 년 지불의사액으로 평가된 경제적 편익은 가구당 년 평균 8,958원으로 나타났다.

상악암에 대한 병용요법의 효과 (EFFECTS OF MULTIMODAL TREATMENT FOR THE MAXILLARY CANCER)

  • 상악암의 치료에는 일반적으로 수술요법과 방사선요법이 단독 또는 복합적으로 시행되어 왔다. 항암화학요법과 면역요법의 발전과 더불어 병용요법이 소개되었으며, 상악암에 대한 병용요법은 수술요법과 방사선요법 및 국소동주 화학요법을 병행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 상악암에 대한 병용요법의 효과를 알아보기 위하여, 상악암으로 진단된 환자에서 Morita법을 약간 변형한 병용요법으로 치료하고 추적관찰이 가능하였던 24례를 대상으로 임상적 및 병리조직학적으로 비교 분석하였다. 병용요법에 의해 5년생존율이 66%로 향상되었으며, 상악전적출술의 필요성이 감소되었다. 상악암에 대한 병용요법은 기존의 광범위한 수술적 치료방법과는 달리 악안면의 형태 및 기능 보존을 목적으로 선택될 수 있는 치료방법의 하나인 것으로 생각된다.

Valuing Ecotourism in Palutungan Resort, Gunung Ciremai National Park, Indonesia

  • In this paper, we conducted an empirical study on the economic value of Palutungan Resort, Gunung Ciremai National Park (Indonesia), using an individual travel cost method. Gunung Ciremai is the highest mountain in West Java Province which has high biodiversity and constitutes the home range of the endangered species, Nisaetus bartelsi and leopards. Using the individual travel cost method, we estimated the annual consumer surplus of ecotourism for Palutungan Resort to be approximately $19, while its total economic value was $0.23 million. However, Palutungan Resort does not benefit exclusively, because the total economic value is divided diversely among the central government (non-tax revenue), local government (taxes), and local communities, while the transportation agencies, retailers, and gas station companies also reap some valuable benefits. In regard to the benefit allocation, all of the associated parties should participate in the conservation and preservation of natural resources in Palutungan Resort to improve the ecotourism services.

Post-harvest Technology for High Quality Rice in Japan

  • Rice is one of the most important cereals in the world. Japanese people use about 9 million tons of rice per you. We use rice for cooked rice as staple foods and for processing, such as rice wine (sake), rice crackers and miso fermentation, etc. Palatability, eating quality, of rice is evaluated by the sensory test and various kinds of physicochemical measurements. Japanese National Food Agency started the storage of 1.5 million tones of rice in 1996. We carried out the storage test using high quality rices since 1995 until 1996. As indices for the quality deteriorations of rice grains during the storage, germination ratio, enzyme activities, fat acidity, physical properties of cooked rice were clarified to be useful. We applied colorimetric method for the measurements of fat acidities in the place of titration method. Processing suitabilities of rice differ depending on the products. Low amylose rice is more suitable for soft rice crackers and high amylose rice is preferred more for rice noodle. Pre-cooked rice products, such as frozen cooked rice, retort-pouched rice and aseptic rice, are increasing recently in Japan. In addition to above-mentioned physico-chemical tests, NIR spectroscopy,“Midometer”and“Taste sensor”are novel and useful to evaluate eating quality and processing suitabolities. Recently, rice wholesalers and retailers have been obligated to display the name of cultivar, location of cultivation and the year of production of rice grains which they sell by the Japanese Agricultural Standard Law (JAS). In order to detect the dishonest labeling of rice cultivars, we developed new cultivar identification method based on DNA polymorphism.

An adaptive nonlocal filtering for low-dose CT in both image and projection domains

  • An important problem in low-dose CT is the image quality degradation caused by photon starvation. There are a lot of algorithms in sinogram domain or image domain to solve this problem. In view of strong self-similarity contained in the special sinusoid-like strip data in the sinogram space, we propose a novel non-local filtering, whose average weights are related to both the image FBP (filtered backprojection) reconstructed from restored sinogram data and the image directly FBP reconstructed from noisy sinogram data. In the process of sinogram restoration, we apply a non-local method with smoothness parameters adjusted adaptively to the variance of noisy sinogram data, which makes the method much effective for noise reduction in sinogram domain. Simulation experiments show that our proposed method by filtering in both image and projection domains has a better performance in noise reduction and details preservation in reconstructed images.

관광호텔 조리사의 표준 원가제도에 관한 인지와 실태분석 -서울시 관광호텔 조리사를 중심으로- (A Study on Cooker's Recognition and Real Attitude abut Standard Cost System)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the cooker's regnition and real attitude abut standard cost system who are engazing in hotel restaurants in Seoul area. The sample was consisted of 307 cookers(male ; 82.7%, female ; 17.3%_ and the used method in analyzing is surveying method and statistical analysis(SPSS PC Package ; Version 3.0). The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. Standard cost system, mass purchase and proper recipe were presented in order to economize on real cost and the purchase and preservation of food were presented as important control factor to econimize cost. 2. Most coolers were recognizing the necessity of standard cost system and they relyed the purpose of standard cost calculation on standard cost control. They also thought standard cost accounting information system as good method to economize cost and they were favorable abut the usage of computer in improving working ability. 3. Most of cookers(80%) wanted to be independant restaurant manager and they were favorable Korean restaurant and Western restaurant. 4. The cookers represented the oder of importance by nutrition, preferance of food, economy in composing cooking menu and by taste, odor, variety, decoration in cooking.

An Overview of Seabed Storage Methods for Pipelines and Other Oil and Gas Equipment

  • In the construction of subsea oil and gas developments, it is increasingly common that subsea oil and gas equipment will be installed in subsea well before final hookup and production. Installation of wellheads, subsea hardware, pipelines, and surface facilities (platforms, FPSO, FLNG, connected terminals, or gas plants) are increasingly driven by independent cost and vessel availability schedules; this gives rise to requirements that the subsea facilities must be stored in the seabed for a specific time. In addition, schedule delays, particularly in the installation or startup of the connected platform, FPSO, FLNG, or onshore plant may cause unexpected extensions of the intended storage period. Currently, there are two methods commonly used for storage subsea facilities in the seabed: dry parking and wet parking. Each method has its own risks, challenges, and implications for the facility life and its integrity. The corrosion management and preservation method selection is a crucial factor to be considered in choosing the appropriate storage method and achieving a successful seabed storage. An overview of those factors is presented, along with a discussion on the internal corrosion threats and assessments.

농촌경관에 있어서 한옥의 가치에 관한 연구 -전문가 의견분석을 중심으로- (Study on the Importance of Rural Hanok and Rural Landscaping - Focused on Experts Opinion Analysis-)

  • This study uses expert analysis as a method of research to identify the value of hanok in rural landscapes. To do so, the study conducted the Delphi method and the AHP survey twice. First, the Delphi method was used on experts who have either studied rural landscape, regional development, hanok or have adequate knowledge in such areas, concerning the definiton of sustainable rural landscapes, the role of hanok in rural landscapes, the problems rural hanoks face, and the preservation and utilzation of rural hanok. Based on this, the AHP survey was conducted. The survey results showed that sustainable rural landscapes are 'landscapes in which the transformation proces coexists from traditonal to modern times.' The role of the rural hanok was shown to be 'the forming of landscapes that expres the historical flow of the vilage.' In the subsequent survey of rural landscapes, the order of import limitationance of hanok was regionality, historicity, harmoniousnes, eco-friendlines and familarity. However, a may be that this study is based on expert opinion which may not be regarded as universal. Therefore, future research on the basis of this study wil have to be conducted in a way to identify the value of hanok in rural landscapes from the perspective of various groups.
