This study was intended to grasp the housing unit plan which the residents preferred. The subjects were 100 housewives who lived in 85$m^2$ sized housing units in the New Apartment Complex, Gimhae. First, four elements of unit plan were selected on the basis of the results of the POE which was carried out for the same subject the size of master bedroom and living room, the openness of dining/kitchen from living room, the openness of living room from entrance, and whether or not a bathtub or a shower booth is in bathroom. Then, eight design alternatives of unit plan made by combination of these four elements according to orthoplan were visualized by computer media. This visualized tool was used for collecting data. The results of the study were as follows: The important determinants of the residents' preferences for unit plan were the size of master bedroom and living room and the openness of living room from entrance. The residents preferred the unit plan which living room was large and the view from living room to dining/kitchen was open. Also, the important elements were different according to the characteristics of the residents. Therefore, the housing alternatives which are flexible and optional would be desirable.
Purpose: This study was intended to measure the knowledge and attitudes of nurses working in a psychiatric ward regarding the subject of pain. Methods: In this descriptive study, data were collected in psychiatric wards(or hospitals) located in the Kyungnam and Kyungpook area from December 2013 to January 2014, using a modified version of the McCaffrey and Pasero Clinical Manual Survey Regarding Pain. The content of the survey follows a logical progression from common pain management problems through mechanisms of pain, assessment and pharmacology. Results: The average score of knowledge regarding pain was roughly $21.59{\pm}2.93$ among the 181 participants. The nurses selected Tylenol as the preferred choice (81.2%). Seventy-one percent of respondents didn't use Pain Intensity Instruments during the pain assessment. The subjects preferred the Numerical Rating Scale rather than Visual Analogue Scales. Pharmacology questions were the least likely to be answered correctly. No specific correlations were found between score and demographic variables of age and experience. No specific correlation between score and educational level was noted. Conclusion: Nurses require ongoing education on pain management, particularly regarding pharmaceutical agents.
Stone columns are widely used to treat soft clay ground. Optimizing the design of stone columns based on cost-effectiveness is always an attractive subject in the practice of ground treatment. In this paper, the design of stone columns is optimized using the concept of robust geotechnical design. Standard deviation of failure probability, which is a system response of concern of the stone column-reinforced foundation, is used as a measure of the design robustness due to the uncertainty in the coefficient of variation (COV) of the noise factors in practice. The failure probability of a stone column-reinforced foundation can be readily determined using Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) based on the settlements of the stone column-reinforced foundation, which are evaluated by a deterministic method. A framework based on the concept of robust geotechnical design is proposed for determining the most preferred design of stone columns considering multiple objectives including safety, cost and design robustness. This framework is illustrated with an example, a stone column-reinforced foundation under embankment loading. Based on the outcome of this study, the most preferred design of stone columns is obtained.

This study intends to ascertain the importance of store atmosphere when construcing store marketing strategies for store differentiation. And it is studied by classifying consumer groups according to clothing shopping motivations, comparing store atmosphere assessment and emotion response of preferred stores, and analyzing the influence store atmosphere has on store preference or impulsive purchase. The subject of this study are women in their twenties living in Seoul, 255 career women and 233 college students totaling 458, and model sampling is done by convenient sampling taking into account the type of their occupation and major. Modified survey based on references and former studies is used, and using SAS packages, methods. The results of data analysis are as follows. 1. Consumer groups are classified into the following four subdivisions: shopping involvement, leisure pursuit, financial, and shopping unconcern group. The stores women in twenties use most frequently for shopping are department stores, speciality stores, common market, discount stores, and wholesale markets, and significant difference are shown between consumer groups. 2. Consumer responses for store atmosphere preferences are shown significantly among groups when concerned with store preferences. 3. Images of store atmosphere as factor analyzed into environment factor, kindness factor, and decoration factor, Environment factor is most highly estimated in speciality stores, kindness factor in department stores, and decoration factor in common markets. 4. Leisure pursuit group is assessed to be most influenced by store atmosphere in store seleciton, impulsive purchase, and after-purchase shopping behavior, and impulsive purchase is shown highly in department stores and speciality stores.
The specific objectives of the study were (1) to determine the preferences for three home economics curriculum designs(HECD) categorized by Majorie Brown(Technical HECD, Self Actualization HECD, and Practical Reasoning HECD), (2) to determine the differences between middle school HE teachers and high school HE teachers on each curriculum element, and (3) to determine the relationships between preferences for three HECD by curriculum elements and personal and professional characteristics of HE teachers. For these objectives, the subjects were randomly selected from HE teachers of secondary schools in the areas of Seoul, In-Cho, and Keungi. The 300 data collected by mailed survey were analyzed into frequency, percentage, Chi-square, and contingency coefficient using SAS program. The major findings were as follows: 1) the majority of HE teacher respeondents preferred the Practical Reasoning HECD about the following curriculum elements: Purpose of HE education, knowledge, subject matter, teaching method, society and culture, learner, learning atmosphere, and HE teacher's role. 2) No significant difference emerged when Chi-square was applied to determine difference between the two groups(middle and high school HE teachers) on three HECD according to each curriculum element. 3) The contingency coefficient between preferences of HE education purpose for three curriculum designs and age was 21, years of teaching was 23, between preferences of learning atmosphere of three curriculum designs and location of school was. 17. These mean that the younger and more beginning teachers perferred HE purpose of the Practical Reasoning HECD, and HE teachers working in urban area more preferred learning atmosphere of Practical Reasoning HECD.

This study aimed to identify secondary school students' perceptions of school spaces by researching their place preferences and the reasons for them. For the purpose, we analyzed students' written statements regarding places they like and dislike at school, which were collected from 836 middle and 1,100 high school students enrolled at 4 middle and 4 high schools, respectively. Data were transcribed, encoded, and analyzed so as to be clustered to themes revealing the students' senses of places at school. The results are as follows: (1) for middle school students, the most preferred places had to do with physical activities, including playground, auditorium, gymnasium etc., whereas high school students preferred indoor places such as classrooms; (2) the reasons for like-places were categorized into three themes: functions (physical, social, learning, and everyday activities), emotions (belonging, healing, and aesthetics), and physical characteristics; (3) both middle and high school students regarded restroom as the place that they disliked most; (4) the reasons for dislike-places included physical conditions, atmosphere, person-related, subject-related, and circumstances such as the happening of violence or punishment. These may provide educators, parents, school architects and administrators with practical considerations needed for making school a better place for students at secondary schools.

Chemical accidents are increasing day by day as the industry develops. To prevent such chemical accidents, Korea enacted the Chemicals Control Act. Through these laws, systematic management of chemical substances began. There are various positions in the companies. hazardous chemical supervisors, equipment and technical human, operators and employees. Chemicals-related education for each position should be provided. As a result of the survey, hazardous chemical supervisors and equipment and technical human liked the overall content of the Chemicals Control Act and the education subject on safety management standards for facilities. Conversely, the operators liked the course on how to wear personal protective equipment. The employees preferred subjects such as classification of chemical substances and prevention of chemical accidents. Currently, various modular textbooks are widely available. Rather than general education, it is necessary to select and provide customized subjects that are preferred and interested according to the position. Then it will be more effective in understanding harzardous chemical substances and in preventing chemical accidents.
The purpose of this research was to develop healing food dishes for the vitalization of forest healing tourism in agricultural areas by enhancing satisfaction of food experiences by visitors to Mount Chungnyeong, Jangseong. Results from site visitation by three professors from food-related departments, association opinions, Jangseong-gun policies, and research materials relating to healing foods were applied for the preparatory experimental cooking, and the final dishes were selected through a food demonstration event. As a result of observation during the site visitation, the main dishes of the subject restaurant appeared to be limited to Samchae Bibimbap, Samchae Ddeokgabi, and Korean set menu items, revealing a limited selection for tourists and referencing a failure to induce customer attraction and long-term stay. Development of a menu conforming to the image of forest healing at Mount Chungnyeong is desperately needed. As a result of applying the results of the surveys from visitors to Mount Chungnyeong, the types of dishes preferred appeared to be Korean table d'hote and Bibimbap, and pork was preferred as the $entr{\acute{e}}e$. The characteristics of preferred dishes appeared to be based on tradition and regionality. Thus, Forest Healing Savory Dish, Yellow Health Dish, and Samchae Kalguksu applying the policy direction of the Yellow City, Jangseong-gun and the image of Jangseong-gun based on Confucianism were developed. Tourists may further enhance the effectiveness of forest healing through foods based on dishes by adding traditional taste using seasonal food ingredients and local specialties, which can contribute to the vitalization of forest healing tourism.
This study was designed to understand purchase motivation for clothing, evaluation criteria for clothing, evaluation criteria for stores depending on average monthly expense for clothing among female college students in Yanbian, China. Questionnaire was used for measurement tools to study the subject of the thesis. Each question was rated in 5 point scale, where 1 means 'not at all' and 5 means 'definitely'. The main study was conducted against 300 female college students from May 17 to June 5, 2001. The data for the study were analyzed using SAS PC program for frequency distribution, percentage, t -test. The purchase motivation for clothing, evaluation criteria for clothing, evaluation criteria for stores are affected by average monthly expense for clothing. The result was showed as follows : A significant difference was showed in the purchase motivation, evaluation criteria for clothing, evaluation criteria for stores, preferred stores between lower group and higher group depending on monthly expense on clothing. A meaningful difference was showed in 4 areas'to try a new trend, impulsive buying at the store display, for a change of mood, for stylish appearance'in the purchase motivations for clothing depending on the monthly expense for clothing, in 2 areas'brand, trendy fashion'in evaluation criteria for clothing depending on the monthly expense for clothing, in 3 areas 'after service, hospitality of sales person, brand awareness' in the evaluation criteria for stores depending on the monthly expense for clothing, And Respondents of a high expense group for clothing showed higher means compared to a low expense group for clothing in all areas. A significant difference was showed among groups regarding preferred stores based on the monthly expense on clothing.

The purposes of this study were to segment male university students on the basis of benefit sought in clothing, and to investigate knitwear image preference and purchasing behaviors of each segmented market. The research method was a survey and subjects were 249 male university students in Daejeon and Chungnam province. The questionnaire consisted of measurement items for benefit sought in clothing, knitwear image preference, knitwear purchasing behaviors, and subject's demographic attributions. The data were analyzed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$ test, ANOVA and Scheffe test. The results were as follows. First, male university students were segmented into 6 consumer types (practicality pursuit, individuality pursuit, comport pursuit, brand pursuit, social status pursuit, and unconcern type) by benefit sought in clothing. Second, male university students generally preferred dandy image and causal image, however, brand pursuit type more preferred trendy image, and practicality pursuit type more preferred active image than other consumer types. Third, the segmented markets showed many differences on knitwear purchasing behaviors. On clothing selection criteria, practicality pursuit type considered resonable price as important, whereas brand pursuit type considered brand reputation. On fashion information source, individuality pursuit type considered store display and other people's clothing, while unconcern type considered advice from friend and family. On main purchasing place, individuality pursuit type more used speciality store with no brand, whereas brand pursuit type more used department store and brand store than other consumer types. The results of this study supported that benefit sought in clothing can be useful as an effective variable for market segmentation.
