To give a guarantee a consistently high level of quality and reliability of Telematics traffic service, traffic flow forecasting is very important issue. In this paper, we proposed an adaptable integrated prediction model to predict the traffic flow in the future. Our model combines two methods, short-term prediction model and long-term prediction model with different combining coefficients to reflect current traffic condition. Short-term model uses the Kalman filtering technique to predict the future traffic conditions. And long-term model processes accumulated speed patterns which means the analysis results for all past speeds of each road by classifying the same day and the same time interval. Combining two models makes it possible to predict future traffic flow with higher accuracy over a longer time range. Many experiments showed our algorithm gives a better precise prediction than only an accumulated speed pattern that is used commonly. The result can be applied to the car navigation to support a dynamic shortest path. In addition, it can give users the travel information to avoid the traffic congestion areas.
An increase In traffic has a large Influence on the performance of a total network. Therefore, traffic management has become an important issue of network management. In this paper, we propose a new routing algorithm that attempts to analyze network conditions using time series prediction models and to propose predictive optimal routing decisions. Traffic congestion is assumed when the predicting result is bigger than the permitted bandwidth. By collecting traffic in real network, the predictable model is obtained when it minimizes statistical errors. In order to predict network traffic based on time series models, we assume that models satisfy a stationary assumption. The stationary assumption can be evaluated by using ACF(Auto Correlation Function) and PACF(Partial Auto Correlation Function). We can obtain the result of these two functions when it satisfies the stationary assumption. We modify routing oaths by predicting traffic in order to avoid traffic congestion through experiments. As a result, Predicting traffic and balancing load by modifying paths allows us to avoid path congestion and increase network performance.

This study applied regression analysis to evaluate the impact of hourly average congestion calculated by bumper model in the congested area of each passage of each port on the peak time congestion, to suggest the model formula that can predict the peak time congestion. This study conducted regression analysis of hourly average congestion and peak time congestion based on the AIS survey study of 20 ports in Korea. As a result of analysis, it was found that the hourly average congestion has a significant impact on the peak time congestion and the prediction model formula was derived. This formula($C_p=4.457C_a+29.202$) can be used to calculate the peak time congestion based on the predicted hourly average congestion.

Semiconductor logistics systems are facing difficulties in increasing production as production processes become more complicated due to the upgrading of fine processes. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to design predictive models that can predict traffic during the pre-planning stage, identify the risk zones that occur during the production process, and prevent them in advance. As a solution, we build FABs using automode simulation to collect data. Then, the traffic prediction model of the areas of interest is constructed using deep learning techniques (keras - multistory conceptron structure). The design of the predictive model gave an estimate of the traffic in the area of interest with an accuracy of about 87%. The expected effect can be used as an indicator for making decisions by proactively identifying congestion risk areas during the Fab Design or Factory Expansion Planning stage, as the maximum traffic per section is predicted.

Traffic congestion has become a serious problem with the recent exponential increase in the number of vehicles. In urban areas, almost all traffic congestion occurs at intersections. One of the ways to solve this problem is road expansion, but it is difficult to realize in urban areas because of the high cost and long construction period. In such cases, traffic signal control is a reasonable method for reducing traffic jams. In an actual situation, the traffic flow changes randomly and its randomness makes the control of traffic signals difficult. A prediction of traffic jams is, therefore, necessary and effective for reducing traffic jams. In addition, an autonomous distributed (stand-alone) point control of each traffic light individually is better than the wide and/or line control of traffic lights from the perspective of real-time control. This paper describes a stochastic optimum control of crossroads and multi-way traffic signals. First, a stochastic model of traffic flows and traffic jams is constructed by using a Bayesian network. Secondly, the probabilistic distributions of the traffic flows are estimated by using a cellular automaton, and then the probabilistic distributions of traffic jams are predicted. Thirdly, optimum traffic signals of crossroads and multi-way intersection are searched by using a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm to realize real-time traffic control. Finally, simulations are carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the real-time stochastic optimum control of traffic signals.
PURPOSES : This study supports the evidence that it is possible to rehabilitate a damaged pavement with a lane closure specifically based on the Gimcheon~Sunsan project. METHODS : The prediction results from the simulation programs were compared with field monitoring, which focused on traffic management planning, congestion (length, time, and passing speed), bypass, and user cost, among others. RESULTS : The research results showed that lane closure application and pavement repair of the aged pavement in Korea were possible, even though the prediction results were minimally different from the field monitoring. The road agency contributes to service life extension of the rehabilitated pavement using this method. CONCLUSIONS : A marginal effect caused by the lane closure was observed on travelling users or vehicles, and the user cost of pavement repair decreased. Therefore, introducing the repair method or rehabilitation in Korea is possible. Information dissemination through various media was properly done to execute the project well. Moreover, the construction area traffic utilized nearby alternative roads. Therefore, improving the repaired pavemen's service life while ensuring that the pavement management agency can provide a road with comfortable user riding quality was possible.

With the increase of motor vehicles and tourism demand, some traffic problems gradually appear, such as traffic congestion, safety accidents and insufficient allocation of traffic resources. Facing these challenges, a model of Spatio-Temporal Dilated Convolutional Network (STDGCN) is proposed for assistance of extracting highly nonlinear and complex characteristics to accurately predict the future traffic flow. In particular, we model the traffic as undirected graphs, on which graph convolutions are built to extract spatial feature informations. Furthermore, a dilated convolution is deployed into graph convolution for capturing multi-scale contextual messages. The proposed STDGCN integrates the dilated convolution into the graph convolution, which realizes the extraction of the spatial and temporal characteristics of traffic flow data, as well as features of road occupancy. To observe the performance of the proposed model, we compare with it with four rivals. We also employ four indicators for evaluation. The experimental results show STDGCN's effectiveness. The prediction accuracy is improved by 17% in comparison with the traditional prediction methods on various real-world traffic datasets.

The advent of B-ISDN using ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) made possible a variety of new multimedia services, however it also created a problem of congestion control due to bursty nature of various traffic sources. To tackle this problem, UPC/NPC(user parameter control/network parameter control) have been actively studied and DRLB(dynamic rate leaky bucket) algorithm, in which the token generation rate is changed according to states of data source andbuffer occupancy, is a good example of the UPC/NPC. However, the DRLB algorithm has drawbacks of low efficiency and difficult real-time implementation for bursty traffic sources because the determination of token generation rate in the algorithm is based on the present state of network. In this paper, we propose a more plastic and effective congestion control algorithm by combining the DRLB algorithm and neural network based prediction to remedy the drawbacks of the DRLB algorithm, and verify the efficacy of the proposed method by computer simulations.
Recently, as networks become more complex due to the activation of IoT devices, research on long-term traffic prediction beyond short-term traffic prediction is being activated to predict and prepare for network congestion in advance. The recursive strategy, which reuses short-term traffic prediction results as an input, has been extended to multi-step traffic prediction, but as the steps progress, errors accumulate and cause deterioration in prediction performance. In this paper, an LSTM-based multi-step traffic prediction method using a multi-output strategy is introduced and its performance is evaluated. As a result of experiments based on actual DNS request traffic, it was confirmed that the proposed LSTM-based multiple output strategy technique can reduce MAPE of traffic prediction performance for non-stationary traffic by 6% than the recursive strategy technique.

Traffic congestion cost is increasing annually. Specifically congestion caused by the CDB traffic contains more than a half of the total congestion cost. Recent advancement in the field of Big Data, AI paved the way to industry revolution 4.0. And, these new technologies creates tremendous changes in the traffic information dissemination. Eventually, accurate and timely traffic information will give a positive impact on decreasing traffic congestion cost. This study, therefore, focused on developing both recurrent and non-recurrent congestion prediction models on urban roads by adopting Recurrent Neural Network(RNN), a tribe in machine learning. Two hidden layers with scaled conjugate gradient backpropagation algorithm were selected, and tested. Result of the analysis driven the authors to 25 meaningful links out of 33 total links that have appropriate mean square errors. Authors concluded that RNN model is a feasible model to predict congestion.
