  • Defect dispute in apartment building has become a debating social issue. The system of defect lawsuit and the conciliation process are applicable to solve defect problems in South Korea. Among various defects, painting work defect is a critical issue because it requires large area works and entails a lot of cost. Accordingly, disputes on work procedure and cost calculation are argued oftenly between residents and housing providers. This study reviewed detailed main issues of painting work and propose relevant systems and standards. In this analysis, the main issues are categorized into pre-works, main work, and others. The most recent cases are compared and analyzed for each issue. After the analysis, following conclusions are obtained, (1) In defect lawsuit system, even though surface treatment work in pre-work step is part of main work, it has been separated and regarded as a separate work. (2) Although the main painting work are not significantly different from two systems, it is still necessary to achieve a consensus to close the gap in the methodology of painting area calculation and determining whole painting or partial painting. (3) In addition, unlike the profit rate of general construction works, that of painting work remained the maximum rate and additional charge rate for works carried out in higher place are different among cases. Therefore, it is determined that establishing consistent standards is urgent.

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of 3C-SiCOI sotctures by SDB and etch-back technology for high-temperature MEMS applications. In this work, insulator layers were formed on a heteroepitaxial 3C-SiC film grown on a Si(001) wafer by thermal wet oxidation and PECVD process, successively. The pre-bonding of two polished PECVD oxide layers made the surface activation in HF and bonded under applied pressure. The wafer bonding characteristics were evaluated by the effect of HF concentration used in the surface treatment on the roughness of the oxide and pre-bonding strength. Hydrophilic character of the oxidized 3C-SiC film surface was investigated by ATR-FTIR. The strength of the bond was measured by tensile strengthmeter. The bonded interface was also analyzed by SEM. The properties of fabricated 3C-SiCOI structures using etch-back technology in TMAH solution were analyzed by XRD and SEM. These results indicate that the 3C-SiCOI structure will offers significant advantages in the high-temperature MEMS applications.

  • Although cleaner and cheaper deinking of ONP could be performed at the neutral or low alkaline condition excessive loss from froth-flotation is unavoidable and so reduction of alkali or caustic soda dosage sacrifices recycling yield. Now the new trade-off regarding alkali dosage versus flotation yield is urgently required in order to set the optimized neutral or low alkaline deinking process of ONP. Lipase from Thermomyces Lanuginosus has an effect on desizing and deacetylation reaction and it could be applied to the stock of pre flotation secondary stage in order to reduce the flotation reject without the sacrifice of optical properties of flotation accepts. Instead of inorganic base, lipase could be applied as a biochemical catalyst for the selective modification of valuable hydrophobic particles in deinking stock, for example cellulose fines and inorganic fillers covered by hydrophobic additives or contaminants. When the enzymatic hydrolysis of ester bond could be made on the surface of hydrophobic particulates, unwanted float of fine particles could be prevented. Now the enhancement of flotation selectivity or the modification of the hydrophobicity of deinking stock is expected to be promoted by the enzymatic pre treatment. And the reduction of recycling cost with the saves of raw material, recovered paper would be possible as a result.

  • Effects of the fluorination in the $K_2$TiF\ulcorner solution and in-situ KF+ KOH electrolyte on the electrochemical charge-discharge properties of CaNi\ulcorner and the Mg-CaNi\ulcorner electrodes were investigated. In-situ fluorination in the KF+ KOH electrolyte compared with pre-fluorination in the$ K_2$TiF\ulcorner solution could improve the electrochemical cycling durability of CaNi\ulcorner and MG-CaN\ulcorner electrodes. The fluorinated layer on the alloy surface by pre-fluorination to improve the activity and anti-corrosion of the electrodes was dissolved in the pure KOH electrolyte during the cycling. The fluorinated layer was formed continuously on the surface of the electrode by thee2N KF addition in the 6N KOH electrolyte. The excess F\ulcorner ion addition in KOH electrolyte could improve the electrochemical cycling durability of CaNi\ulcorner and Mg-CaNi\ulcorner electrode. But, in case of MG-CaNi\ulcorner electrode, the discharge capacity of the electrode was reduced and the poor cycling property was shown with increasing of the MG process times.

  • In this paper, a new security algorithm to recognize the type of the vehicle with the vehicle image as a input image is suggested. The vehicle recognition security algorithm is composed of five core parts, such as the input image, background removal, edge areas extraction, pre-processing(binarization), and the vehicle recognition. Therefore, the final recognition rate of the security algorithm for vehicle type recognition can be affected by the function and efficiency of each step. After inputting image into a gray scale image and removing backgrounds, the binarization is performed by extracting only the edge region. After the pre-treatment process for making outlines clear, the type of vehicles is categorized into large vehicles, passenger cars and motorcycles through the ratio of height and width of the vehicle.

  • Ultrafiltration membranes have several advantages over conventional drinking-water treatment. However, this technology presents major limitations, such as irreversible fouling and low removal of natural organic matter. Fouling depends heavily on the raw-water quality as well as on the operating conditions of the process, including flux, permeate recovery, pre-treatment, chemical cleaning, and backwashing. Starting with the premise that the optimisation of operating variables can improve membrane performance, different experiments were conducted in a pilot plant located in Granada (Spain). Several combinations of permeate and backwashing flow rates, backwashing frequencies, and aeration flow rates were tested for low-quality water coming from Genil River with the following results: the effluent quality did not depend on the combination of operating conditions chosen; and the membrane was effective for the removal of microorganisms, turbidity and suspended solids but the yields for the removal of dissolved organic carbon were extremely low. In addition, the threshold transmembrane pressure (-0.7 bar) was reached within a few hours and it was difficult to recover due to the low efficiency of the chemical cleanings. Moreover, greater transmembrane pressure due to fouling also increased the energy consumption, and it was not possible to lower it without compromising the permeate recovery. Finally, the intensification of aeration contributed positively to lengthening the operation times but again raised energy consumption. In light of these findings, the feasibility of ultrafiltration as a single treatment is questioned for low-quality influents.

  • Ozonation is a disinfection technique of harmful mi-crobes commonly used in the treatment of drinking water. And Biological Activated Carbon (BAC) treatment also provides numerous benefits for drinking water utilities, including removal of micro- pollutants, improved treatment processes. The multiful-stage ozonation and BAC play roles as effective methods for removing several materials in raw water. Water quality variation in Nak dong river and the removal efficiency of viruses by ozonation-BAC process were investigated on pilot scale. During the period of survey, most of water quality parameters including $NH_{4}^{+}-N$ were highly improved after passing through the BAC. The removal efficiency of poliovirus type III in water treatment process using pilot-plant,$ 99.6\% $ of viruses were removed by pre-ozonation, sedimentation and sand filteration process, $ 100\% $ were removed after in BAC filteration step. In the removal survey of viruses by ozonation, ap-proximately $ 61.1\% $ or polioviruses were inactivated by ozone of 0.4 mg/l within 5 min. and $ 100\% $ were inactivated by ozone of 0.8 mg/l over 10 min.

  • In this study, the microbubbles were applied to the MBR process for night soil treatment, and the removal efficiency was estimated. As a result of the this study, when the microbubble was supplied directly to the aerobic tank in which the membrane was submerged, excessive scum was generated so could not stable operation of the process. The SS removal efficiencies in the pre-treatment tank were 74.3%, 82.8%, 75.0%, 52.1% on average at the 2 kg, 4 kg, 6 kg, and $8kg\;COD_{Cr}/m^3$, respectively. The mean removal efficiencies were more than 99.4%, 94.0%, 74.1% for SS, $TCOD_{Cr}$, $SCOD_{Cr}$ by MBR process. On the other hand, when the microbubble are directly supplied to the aerobic tank, the microbubble and the scum are attached each other to accelerate the fouling. Therefore, it can be confirmed that stable treatment can be achieved by applying microbubble to the front of the bioreactor for removal of SS and oxidation of organic matters in high concentration organic wastewater treatment such as night soil.

  • The Advanced Spent Fuel Conditioning Process (ACP), which is a pre-disposal treatment process for spent fuel is being developed at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). The ACP equipment is operated in an intense radiation field as well as in a high temperature. Thus, the equipment is designed in consideration of the remote handling and maintenance. This paper describes a Bridge Transported Bilateral Force-Reflecting Servo-Manipulator (BTSM) system, which is being developed to overcome the limitation of access that is a drawback of the mechanical Master-Slave Manipulators (MSMs), which are mounted on the ACP hot cell wall for the operation and the maintenance of the ACP equipment. The BTSM system was manufactured and temporally installed at the mockup to test its performance. The manufactured BTSM system will be installed at the ACP hot cell on June 2005 after the accomplishment of the performance test. The BTSM system consists of four components: a transporter with a telescoping tubeset, a slave manipulator, a master manipulator, and a remote control system. This system will highly increase the volume of coverage for the operation and maintenance of the ACP equipment.

  • Nowadays Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) solar cell is attracting a lot of attention as a strong alternative to CIGS solar cell due to nontoxic and inexpensive constituent elements of CZTS. From various processes for the fabrication of CZTS solar cell, solution-based deposition of CZTS thin films is well-known non-vacuum process and many researchers are focusing on this method because of large-area deposition, high-throughput, and efficient material usage. Typically the solution-based process consists of two steps, coating of precursor solution and annealing of the precursor thin films. Unlike vacuum-based deposition, precursor solution contains unnecessary elements except Cu, Zn, Sn, and S in order to form high quality precursor thin films, and thus the precise control of precursor thin film preparation is essential for achieving high efficient CZTS solar cells. In this work, we have investigated the effect of preparation condition of CZTS precursor thin films on the performance of CZTS solar cells. The composition of CZTS precursor solution was controlled for obtaining optimized chemical composition of CZTS absorber layers for high-efficiency solar cells. Pre-annealing process of the CZTS precursor thin films was also investigated to confirm the effect of thermal treatment on chemical composition and carbon residues of CZTS absorber layers. The change of the morphology of CZTS precursor thin film by the preparation condition was also observed.
