This report demonstrates a method of generating a chair-side and computer-aided template for implant surgery based on the Top-Down and restoration-driven concept. Compared to the traditional CAD-CAM process which requires multiple steps to be taken between dental clinic and laboratory, this alternative procedure, VARO guide system (VARO Guide, CAD, Pre-Guide, VARO-mill, NeoBiotech, Seoul, South Korea) enables accurate and patient-friendly implant surgery as well as immediate provisional restoration in a single visit. First, bite-registration at centric jaw relation and CBCT were taken using the Pre-Guide. The CBCT data was then reorganized directly through the chair-side CAD, and we could determine the most appropriate 3-dimensional position of implant. The STL file was extracted and put into the chair-side CAM (VARO-mill) to fabricate a VARO. This surgical guide allowed the implants to be accurately positioned into the planned sites within an hour.

Recently, we are using robots and drones to collect images. However, as the robot or drone is shaken by external influences, pre-processing technology to register images is required. Therefore, in this paper, we use autonomous robots, drones dataset and improve the quality of shaken image data through the Deblur deep learning model. We confirmed through the experimental results that the shaken images were registered and evaluated the model.

IETF's FMIPv6 protocol enables a mobile node to switch to the reactive mode of handover operation when the prediction of the movement is incorrect. In this case, the mobile node may experience severe service disruption due to large handover latency and packet loss. In order to solve this problem, we propose a fast mobile IP handover with multiple pre-registrations. In the proposed approach, the new temporary IP addresses are prepared in advance at multiple locations where the mobile node may probably move into. In this case, even though the prediction is wrong, the mobile node can move into the alternative locations without causing service disruption. We have designed and implemented a prototype system, and measured the performance of the proposed system. The experimental results show that the proposed approach can reduce the handover latency drastically.

Purpose: This study examined emergency medical service (EMS) transportation patterns for adult trauma patients before and after establishing a level 1 regional trauma center (RTC) and to evaluate the transportation approach after prehospital severity screening. Methods: This was a retrospective observational study of trauma patients aged ≥18 years admitted via EMS to the emergency department or a level 1 RTC, 1 year before to 3 years after RTC establishment. Patients with an Injury Severity Score (ISS) in the patient registration system were selected. Analyses were performed to determine transportation pattern changes by comparing patients pre- and post-RTC establishment and by yearly comparisons over the 4-year study period using the Mann-Whitney U test and chi-square test. Results: Overall, 3,587 patients were included. The mean ISS was higher in the post-RTC group (n=2,693; 10.63±8.90, median 9.00) than in the pre-RTC group (n=894; 9.44±8.20, median 8.00; p<0.001). The mean transportation distance (9.84±13.71, median 5.80 vs. 13.12±16.15 km, median 6.00; p<0.001) was longer in the post-RTC group than in the pre-RTC group. Furthermore, proportionally fewer patients were transported from an area in the same city as the RTC after establishment (86.1% vs. 78.3%; p<0.001). Yearly comparisons revealed a gradually increasing trend in the hospital death rate (ptrend=0.031). Conclusions: After establishing a level 1 RTC, the EMS transportation of severe trauma patients increased gradually along with the long-distance transportation of minor trauma patients. Therefore, improved prehospital EMS trauma severity assessments and level 1 RTC involvement in patient classification in the prehospital phase are necessary.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the pre-evaluation of the feasibility of establishing a public library, which is mandatory according to the revision of the Library Act, can improve the quality of the library. Therefore, the effectiveness of the preliminary evaluation was analyzed through the case analysis of the preliminary evaluation of the public library construction support project, which was implemented for the same purpose before the revision of the Library Act. In the case of libraries built after preliminary evaluation, most of the minimum standards for legal librarians required by the Enforcement Decree of the Library Act were secured, which helped secure basic library personnel. However, there were few libraries that secured and operated as much manpower as originally planned, and in some cases, the application applied to operate the library directly, but it was changed to consignment operation at the time of opening, so the pre-review details were not faithfully reflected. This study proposed re-establishing realistic librarian placement standards according to the revision of the law and introducing a post-evaluation using the library registration system so that it would not be a formal pre-process through case analysis.

To use surveying data obtained from different sensors and different techniques, it is a pre-requite step that register them in a common coordinate system. For this purpose, we developed methodologies to register airborne photos, ALS (Airborne Laser Scanning) data and digital maps. To achieve this, conjugate features from these data should be extracted in advance. In this study, linear features are chosen as conjugate features. Based on such a selection strategy, a simple and robust algorithm is proposed for extracting such features from ALS data. Then, to register them, observation equations are established from similarity measurements of the extracted features and the results was evaluated statistically. The results clearly demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are appropriate to register these data.

In this paper, we propose the input image selection-method to improve the reconstructed high-resolution (HR) image quality. To obtain ideal super-resolution (SR) reconstruction image, all input images are well-registered. However, the registration is not ideal in practice. Due to this reason, the selection of input images with low registration error (RE) is more important than the number of input images in order to obtain good quality of a HR image. The suitability of a candidate input image can be determined by using statistical and restricted registration properties. Therefore, we propose the proper candidate input Low Resolution(LR) image selection-method as a pre-processing for the SR reconstruction in automatic manner. In video sequences, all input images in specified region are allowed to use SR reconstruction as low-resolution input image and/or the reference image. The candidacy of an input LR image is decided by the threshold value and this threshold is calculated by using the maximum motion compensation error (MMCE) of the reference image. If the motion compensation error (MCE) of LR input image is in the range of 0 < MCE < MMCE then this LR input image is selected for SR reconstruction, else then LR input image are neglected. The optimal reference LR (ORLR) image is decided by comparing the number of the selected LR input (SLRI) images with each reference LR input (RLRI) image. Finally, we generate a HR image by using optimal reference LR image and selected LR images and by using the Hardie's interpolation method. This proposed algorithm is expected to improve the quality of SR without any user intervention.
This study conducted a regulatory impact analysis regarding the introduction of the Korean version of REACH(Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals). The direct cost of the Korean REACH is estimated at a total of 101 billion Korean won over the 11 year period. The cost includes pre-registration, testing, registration, Chemical Safety Assessment(CSA) and Chemical Safety Report(CSR), evaluation, and the authorization costs of 15,223 chemical substances produced and imported more than 1 ton per year in Korea in 2006. With regard to the benefit, the only public health benefit is included in the estimation. Based on the available foreign and domestic data, this study estimated that the economic values of public health benefits are in the range of 33.2~138.6 billion Korean won if only the savings of the National Health Expenditures are considered and it reaches 203.9~1,640.3 billion Korean won if the willingness to pay(WTP) for disease prevention is included. This study proved that the Korean REACH passed the cost/benefit criteria. The benefit-cost ratio of the Korean REACH, however, is estimated to be lower than its EU counterpart. Thus it is suggested that a rigorous study to reduce the costs to industry be required before the Korean government introduces the Korean REACH.

3D Geo-spatial information models have been widely used in the field of Civil Engineering, Medical, Computer Graphics, Urban Management and many other. Especially, in surveying and geo-spatial field, the demand for high quality 3D geospatial information and indoor spatial information is so highly increasing. However, it is so difficult to provide a low-cost and high efficiency service to the field which demand the highest quality of 3D model, because pre-constructed spatial data are composed of different formats and storage structures according to the application purpose of each institutes. In fact, the techniques to construct a high applicable 3D geo-spatial model is very expensive to collect and analyze geo-spatial data, but most demanders of 3D geo-spatial model never want to pay the high-cost to that. This study, therefore, suggest the effective way to construct 3D geo-spatial model with low-cost of construction. In general, the effective way to reduce the cost of constructing 3D geo-spatial model as presented in previous studies is to combine the raw data obtained from point cloud observatory and UAV imagery, however this method has some limitation of usage from difficulties to approve the use of raw data because of those have been managed separately by various institutes. To solve this problem, we developed the linking & management system for unifying a high-Resolution raw geo-spatial data based on the point cloud DB and apply this system to extract the basic database from 3D geo-spatial mode for the road database registration. As a result of this study, it can be provided six contents of main entries for road registration by applying the developed system based on the point cloud DB.

Recently, high productivity capabilities have been improved due to the application of advanced technologies in various industries, but in the construction industry, productivity improvements have been relatively low. Research on advanced technology for the construction industry is being conducted quickly to overcome the current low productivity. Among advanced technologies, 3D scan technology is widely used for creating 3D digital terrain models at construction sites. In particular, the 3D digital terrain model provides basic data for construction automation processes, such as earthwork machine guidance and control. The quality of the 3D digital terrain model has a lot of influence not only on the performance and acquisition environment of the 3D scanner, but also on the denoising, registration and merging process, which is a preprocessing process for creating a 3D digital terrain model after acquiring terrain scan data. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the terrain scan data processing performance. This study seeks to solve the problem of density inhomogeneity in terrain scan data that arises during the pre-processing step. The study suggests a 'pixel-based point cloud comparison algorithm' and verifies the performance of the algorithm using terrain scan data obtained at an actual earthwork site.
