We prepared hydrophobic PDMS-coated porous silica as pre-concentration adsorbent for chemical warfare agents (CWAs). Since CWAs can be harmful to human even with a small amount, detecting low-concentration CWAs has been attracting attention in defense development. Porous silica is one of the promising candidates for CWAs pre-concentration adsorbent since it is thermally stable and its surface area is sufficiently high. A drawback of silica is that adsorption of CWAs can be significantly reduced due to competitive adsorption with water molecule in air since silica is quite hydrophilic. In order to solve this problem, hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thin film was deposited on silica. Adsorption and desorption of chemical warfare agent (CWA) simulants (Dimethylmethylphosphonate, DMMP and Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether, DPGEM) on bare and PDMS-coated silica were studied using temperature programed desorption (TPD) with and without co-exposing of water vapor. Without exposure of water vapor, desorbed amount of DMMP from PDMS-coated silica was twice larger than that from bare silica. When the samples were exposed to DMMP and water vapor at the same time, no DMMP was desorbed from bare silica due to competitive adsorption with water. On the other hand, desorbed DMMP was detected from PDMS-coated silica with reduced amount compared to that from the sample without water vapor exposure. Adsorption and desorption of DPGME with and without water vapor exposing was also investigated. In case of bare silica, all the adsorbed DPGME was decomposed during the heating process whereas molecular DPGME was observed on PDMS-coated silica. In summary, we showed that hydrophobic PDMS-coating can enhance the adsorption selectivity toward DMMP under humid condition and PDMS-coating also can have positive effect on molecular desorption of DPGME. Therefore we propose PDMS-coated silica could be an adequate adsorbent for CWAs pre-concentration under practical condition.
The objective of this study was to examine and compare to transient response to quantitative and hydraulic shocks which produce equal changes in mass rate of organic feed in aerobic fixed-film process. The general experimental approach was to operate the system at several growth rates under steady-state(pre-shock) conditions, then to apply step changes during day 3 in dilution rate(hydraulic shock) , or feed concentration(Quantitative shock) at the same organic mass loading rate. Performance was assessed in both the transient state and the new steady-state (post- shock). Shock load of different type did not produced equivalent disruptions of effluent quality for equal increases in mass loading rate. Based on effluent concentrations, a hydraulic and a Quantitative shock at the same mass loading caused equal increase in total effluent COD, but the increase was primarily a result of suspended solids the hydraulic shock and COD in the quantitative shock. The time which effluent COD came to peak values were about 32~48 hours at the low organic loads and 52 ~ 72 hours at the high organic loads, respectively A quantitative shock produced a much greater increase in effluent COD than did a hydraulic shock at the same mass loading. Mean and peak values of effluent concentration weve increased in 2.8~4.2 times at low organic loading rate, 5.2~6.6 times at the high organic loading rate, respectively. Key words : Aerobic fixed-film reactor, Quantitative shock, hydraulic shock, mass loading rate.

Thin films spin-coated from solvent solutions are characterized by solution parameters and spin-coating process. In this study, performance characteristics of polymer solar cells were investigated with changing solution parameters such as solvent and additives. The phase-separation between polymer and fullerene is needed to make the percolation pathway for better transportation of hole and electron in polymer solar cells. For this reason, cooperative effects of solvent mixtures adding additives with distinct solubility have been studied recently. In this study, chlorobezene, 1, 2-dichlorbenzene, and chloroform were used as solvent. 1, 8-diiodoctaned and 1, 8-octanedithiol were used as additives and were added into poly(3-hexylthiophene-2, 5-diyl)/[6, 6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT/PCBM) blends. Pre-patterned ITO glass was cleaned using ultrasonication in mixed solvent with ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and acetone. PEDOT:PSS was spin-coated on to the ITO substrate at 3000rpm and was baked at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10min on the hotplate. The prepared solution was spin-coated at 1000rpm and the spin-coated thin film was dried in the Petri dishes. Al electrode was deposited on the thin film by thermal evaporation. The devices were annealed at $120^{\circ}C$ for 30min. By adding 2.5 volume percent of additives into the chlorobenzene from that bulk heterojunction films consisting of P3HT/PCBM, the power efficiency (AM 1.5G conditions) was increased from 2.16% to 2.69% and 3.12% respectively. We have investigated the effect of additives in P3HT/PCBM blends and the film characteristics and the film characteristics including J-V characteristics, absorption, photoluminescence, X-ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy to mainly depict the morphology control by doping additives.
This work is to present each properties and the interfacial characterization between PZT layer and LSMO layer of PZT/LSMO/Pt. LSMO thin film grown by KrF(248 nm) excimer lasers are used in pulsed in pulsed laser deposition(PLD). PZT coposites thin films were deposited by spin coating using a commercial resist spinner. LSMO thin film by deposition oxygen pressure 125 mtorr have rhombohedral structure on Pt(111) substrate. The PZT/LSM/Pt pre-orientate to [111] direction. The final thin films were shown that magnetic and electric property was typical value, respective. We report that the lattice between the PZT/LSMO thin film and the substrate plays a very important role and may control to another effects.
To evaluate the effect of sex education on middle school students' access to the obscene online computer and video film contents. 154 students were selected as experimental group. and 154 students were selected as control group, sampled randomly from Andong. Kyungbook, Korea. An analysis was performed. A non-equivalent control group pre test-post test research design was used. The data were collected from April 2nd to April 19th. 2001. A pre-survey was done on general characteristics and the condition of accessing obscene online computer and video film contents on both experimental and control group. From the survey results information. sex education contents were put together. The researcher organized 3 ready-made sex education program and explained to the four school health nurses about the ready-made sex education program step by step and they educated their selected students with three classes of 45 minutes lecture. Two weeks after the last lecture, a post-test was conducted. Four weeks from the last lecture, another post-test was conducted. The existing studies by Choi Yongseon(1998) and Kim Hyeok(1998) were reviewed and two professors in the department of community health nursing advised on the study questionnaire writing. An SPSS Win 10.0 was used. The data of respondents' general characteristics were analyzed using frequency and percentage. $X^2$ test was used to verify the homogeneity of the experimental group and the control group. Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to find out whether sex education had an effect on the awareness of obscene online computer and video film contents and under-age prostitution through the online computer networks. and time and frequency of access to the obscene online computer and video film contents. The results of the study are as follow. 1. The results of the verification of homogeneity between the experimental group and the control group showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. 2. The first hypothesis, 'the experimental group which received sex education would have a higher level of awareness of accessing obscene contents than the control group which did not receive the education' was supported at p<0.0001. 3. The second hypothesis. 'the experimental group which received sex education would have a higher level of awareness of underage prostitution on computer networks than the control group which did not receive the education' was supported at p<0.05. 4. The third hypothesis, 'the experimental group which received sex education would spend time less accessing obscene video and computer contents than the control group which did not receive the education' was rejected at p>.05. 5. The 4-1 hypothesis. 'the experimental group which received sex education would access obscene computer contents less frequently than the control group which did not receive the education' was supported at p<0.0001. 6. The 4-2 hypothesis, 'the experimental group which received sex education would access obscene video contents less frequently than the control group which did not receive the education' was supported at p<0.0001. In conclusion, a systematic step-by-step sex education program should be developed to protect middle school students from the harmful online computer and video film access. An effective teaching material for sex education should be prepared to decrease middle school students' access to obscene online computer and video film contents.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of operational parameters such as rotation speed and vibrating milling time for the fabrication of photocatalytic $TiO_2$ thin film using aerosol deposition methods. $TiO_2$ powders produced in the range of 1,000-3,000 rpm of rotation speed of centrifugal separator are ineffective on the fabrication of $TiO_2$ thin film by aerosol deposition due to the problem of nozzle powder jam. $TiO_2$ powders controlled by vibrating milling had about 420 nm of average diameter after 2 hr of vibrating milling time. The result of XRD analysis indicated that $TiO_2$ powders had a anatase phase. Vibrating milling methods was considered to be an effective pre-treatment process for $TiO_2$ powder control. Consequently $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film with dispersion of anatase crystallites controled by vibrating milling was successfully fabricated by aerosol deposition. The permeation flux of $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film with the immobilized $TiO_2$ powder was higher than that of suspended $TiO_2$ powder. Therefore, $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film promises to be one of the effective methods for enhancing filtration performance for the treatment of organic pollutants.

Recently, many platinoid metals like platinum and ruthenium have been used as an electrode of microelectronic devices because of their low resistivity and high work-function. However the material cost of Ru is very expensive and it usually takes long initial nucleation time on SiO2 during chemical deposition. Therefore many researchers have focused on how to enhance the initial growth rate on SiO2 surface. There are two methods to deposit Ru film with atomic layer deposition (ALD); the one is thermal ALD using dilute oxygen gas as a reactant, and the other is plasma enhanced ALD (PEALD) using NH3 plasma as a reactant. Generally, the film roughness of Ru film deposited by PEALD is smoother than that deposited by thermal ALD. However, the plasma is not favorable in the application of high aspect ratio structure. In this study, we used a bis(ethylcyclopentadienyl)ruthenium [Ru(EtCp)2] as a metal organic precursor for both thermal and plasma enhanced ALDs. In order to reduce initial nucleation time, we use several methods such as Ar plasma pre-treatment for PEALD and usage of sacrificial RuO2 under layer for thermal ALD. In case of PEALD, some of surface hydroxyls were removed from SiO2 substrate during the Ar plasma treatment. And relatively high surface nitrogen concentration after first NH3 plasma exposure step in ALD process was observed with in-situ Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). This means that surface amine filled the hydroxyl removed sites by the NH3 plasma. Surface amine played a role as a reduction site but not a nucleation site. Therefore, the precursor reduction was enhanced but the adhesion property was degraded. In case of thermal ALD, a Ru film was deposited from Ru precursors on the surface of RuO2 and the RuO2 film was reduced from RuO2/SiO2 interface to Ru during the deposition. The reduction process was controlled by oxygen partial pressure in ambient. Under high oxygen partial pressure, RuO2 was deposited on RuO2/SiO2, and under medium oxygen partial pressure, RuO2 was partially reduced and oxygen concentration in RuO2 film was decreased. Under low oxygen partial pressure, finally RuO2 was disappeared and about 3% of oxygen was remained. Usually rough surface was observed with longer initial nucleation time. However, the Ru deposited with reduction of RuO2 exhibits smooth surface and was deposited quickly because the sacrificial RuO2 has no initial nucleation time on SiO2 and played a role as a buffer layer between Ru and SiO2.
Advancements in thin-film nanocomposite (TFN) membrane technology for nanofiltration is crucial for removing pollutants from natural resources. In recent years, various metal-organic framework (MOF) modifications have been tested to overcome the drawbacks that are inevitable with conventional thin-film composite (TFC) and TFN membranes. In general, MIL-101(Cr), UiO-66, ZIF-8, and HKUST-1 [Cu3(BCT2)] are MOFs that were proven to exhibit excellent membrane performance in terms of solvent permeability and solute rejection; their respective studies are reviewed in this article. Other novelties, such as the simultaneous use of different MOFs and unique MOF layering techniques (e.g., dip-coating, spray pre-disposition, Langmuir-Schaefer film, etc.) are also discussed as they present alternate solutions for membrane enhancement and/or preparation convenience. Not only are these MOF-modified TFN membranes frequently shown to improve separation performance from their respective TFC and TFN membranes, but many reports also explain their potential for a cost-effective and environmentally friendly process. In this review the thin film nanocomposite nanofiltration membrane is discussed.
Surface passivation using glass powders results in good reliability for high voltage silicon power devices. In this paper Zinc borosilicate glass and Lead borosilicate glass were prepared for the purpose of passivating, and a deposition technique of glass films on the silicon surface by electrophoresis in which acetone is used as a suspension medium has been investigated. Their physical properties were compared using DTA, SEM, XRD, as a function of firing temperature, I can get the fine films of 22${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness with Lead borosilicate glass under 300 volts applied, 3 minutes and $700^{\circ}C$ firing temperature. Also I can get the fine films of 17${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness with Zinc borosilicate glass under same conditions. As a result of investigation of glass films from which glass layer was removed by placing it in HCl, it has been found that pre-firing and annealing play an important role to achieve uniform and fine glass deposition films. And also it was found that relative dielectric constant is independence of frequency.
In micromechanical system (MEMS) such as microactuators. thin film has been widely used as structural material. MEMS materials have difference with bulk in terms of mechanical properties. So, we design the advanced test structure for micromechanical properties of MEMS. The designed structure includes the newly developed pre-crack and it is driven by electrostatic force. To measure the fracture toughness, the pre-crack formation in the test structure is developed with conventional etching process. The advanced test structure is fabricated by application of semiconductor technology. After this, we propose analytical methodology to evaluate the fracture toughness and fatigue properties through a prediction of crack behavior from the variations of stiffness and frequency. Additionally, life time of a mirror plane used in DVD(Digital Video Disk) is measured as a function of capacitance and applied voltage under the accelerated conditions. Ultimately, we propose the method to evaluate the micromechanical reliabilities of the MEMS materials using the advanced test structure.
