The purpose of this study is to develop a plan that adopts a fairly tale motif, which is familiar to children, to traditional Korean costume design factors for the development of practical Korean costume enterprises, which lead the Korean costume industry in its existence. Literary research and previous research methods had been used in this study. After comparing traditional Korean costume factors with practical Korean costume factors through literary research, we examined children's Korean costumes and ordinary children costumes. The results of this study are the following: First, the result of literary research, which used traditional Korean costume as motif of practical Korean costume and adopted model factors that the developed motif had used, shows that the design factors of practical Korean Costumes have changed from traditional to modern, seeking practicability and convenience over appearance. Second, practical Korean costumes are suitable when fairy tale illustration is applied to children with curiosity and warm emotions, and towards children, who spend much time on activity during growth. Third, making use of CAD system, which is different from practical Korean costume based on traditional patterns and single color, and using various pint pattern with many stories for the design of practical Korean costumes, and applying diversity to the market of practical Korean costumes, this study provides new design motif from, which people can feel more familiar to practical Korean costumes.

This research surveys the forming process of Practical Korean Costume and its social factors and examines Hanbok reformation. The international mode of '86 Seoul Asian Games and '88 Seoul Olympic Games in the 1980's called for the modernization of Hanbok. It is necessary for us to inherit modernized Hanbok which is endowed with the traditional beauty. The purpose of this research is to develop Practical Korean Costume design for focused on functionality as well as on keeping the traditional beauty This study consist of theoretical study and positive study. Theoretical study has the esthetic characteristics(structure characteristic, formative characteristic and the characteristic of color). Grounded upon survey on brands, I have suggested designs that maintain Hanbok's superiority and functionality to fit modern life. Most of Practical Korean Costume shops could not fractionalize customer. So it need to subdivide and specialize customer and investment to improvement of design. Practical Korean Costume will have to be made to maintain dignity by using high quality materials and a coordinate goods will have to be developed.

The purpose of this research is to get basic data for R&D to activate and popularize the Practical Korean Costume. This research was carried out by theoretical study with literature and practical study with development of model based on the result of questionnaire. 1. In theoretical study the concept of 'Korean-image' of modern costume as well as 'Modernization' of Korean traditional costume has been suggested and 'traditional beauty of costume' which can be evaluated generally was considered. 2. In practical study the results of the questionnaire showed the objective numerical value of the element of Korean design which is firmly recognized by korean people. With the results the methods of development and composition of design have been suggested in the harmony of 'traditional' and 'modern' through the modernization in terms of form composition fabric color. It is expected that development direction of Practical Korean Costume which can be settled in everyday life with more independent cultural identity should be suggested. Additionally the research results will be useful for merchandise planning of costume industry.

The objectives of this study are to consider about the research of a costume and a discussion about a system of costume by practical science scholar in the late period of Chosun Dynasty. The result are descrived as follows: 1. The purpose that practical sciellce scholars researched a costulne was not only the intellectual research but also to make a basis in order to reform a uncorrected costume's system. Their study had two point. The one was the investigating research about the origin and change of the costume. The other was the study about a formation of costume. 2. The practical science scholars determined the directions to reform a wrong costumes' system on the basis of the research about a costume. They had three directions. Those were a conservatism, a rationalism to think the realities of life and a reformation. 3. The practical science scholars' thinking was to pursue the origin form and the practical use. This two axis show the direction to improve our costulne's culture now a day.

Korean Costume has long history and functional aesthetic value compared with the traditional costume of other contries. But nowadays korean Costume is becoming more and more distant from the people in the world wide current. To domiciliate and spread out the Practical Korean Costume which the goverment selected as CI symbol representing Korean culture in the trend of times. We investigated and analysed systemically the consciousness of customers and the details of design. This study consist of theoritical study and positive study. Theoritical study has the esthetic characteristic(structure characteristics formative characteristic and the characteristic of color) As the conciousness of people change in modern life which everything change in high speed the esthetic characteristics of Korean Costume have changed in structure.

The purpose of this study was to change practical korean costume in 20C. In the early 20C, inflow of western civilization started to change korean costume. Since then gradually changes to be simple in Korean costume. Results of this study can be summarized as follows: Traditional jacket (jeo-go-li) gradually began to be long to waist line. This jacket length was to be long and it sleeve is to be short in early 2OC. Traditional skirt (Chi-rna) length was short to the calf of the leg. Traditional wide skirt was gradually to be narrow and pleats shape look as if it in go-gu-Ryeo Dynasty. The width of pleats was about 3~5 cm, be one-sided, look as if it western style in today. But pleats skirt already existed on a women's of the upper classes in go-gu-Ryeo Dynasty. Women's long Coat (do-lu-ma-gi) length was short to under hip line in late 20c. In this way, the practical idea, the factor of design was because of western idea in civilization ages, early 20C. Since then gradually reformed to be simple in Korean costume. Assuming that the trend of simplification in Korean costume is related to the idea of practical. Therefore Korean costume of living or a reformed Korean costume to be design of practical, functional, convenient, economically. And it must have to traditional idea, it is only beauty of shape, pattern, line, fabric in Korean costume.

This paper is focused on practical research regarding costume design and arts management that make use of local resources and which are influenced by local culture of Tokuji in Yamaguchi-city, located in a mountainous area in Yamaguchi Prefecture in the western part of Honshu in Japan. We will examine possibilities in fashion design through this study. This was a practical research project, done with cooperation between the university and local industry, with priorities being assigned by the requests of residents of the Tokuji area. In 2011 the Aurinko, Tokuji, Talo (it means the Solar Tokuji Building in Finnish) was decided as the base of activities. Other functions were gradually added on, including a salon for people of the area to exchange ideas and workshops for group discussions. This paper will specifically be focused on the handmade paper peculiar to Tokuji and traditionally used as a material in fashion. The fashion designs developed by this researcher's laboratory were strongly influenced by these styles of paper. These costumes were made with a handmade paper called "Kamiko" in Japan, that is aesthetic sense has been historically cherished. This paper suggests that the affluence and depth of costume design may be expressed not only by directly borrowing from these influences, but also by borrowing the traditional aesthetic sense original to Japan. Thus this paper will examine industry and culture simultaneously, examining in particular the impact of arts management and costume design using handmade paper manufactured locally.

The purpose of this study is to present de-sign development and constructive method on man's Hanbok which can be put on daily-life clothing through supplementing the incon-venience of HanBok and to make men put on daily-life-HanBok through making the HanBok ready-made clothing which has lower-price. The concrete test and its process on devel-oped design are below. (1) In present there are five uncomfortable point waist closing baji's slitting and daenim (2) Developed the first design concentrating on uncomfortable parts with Korean costume-pattern (3) to supplement sleeve armhole and waist closing which are pointed out as the incon-venience at first design development did the second design development. The results through research and process are below. (1) In the functional test of testing clothing a testee is satisfied with jegory's closing at 87. 5% with pocket at 100% and with baji's front closing and daenim (2) The opinion of an observer on daily-life Hanbok is an affirmative response as following turns: traditional aspect practical use and aesthetic aspect. (3) Analyzing the relations between the characters of daily-life hanbok and the popu-lation density variables results are the popu-lation density variable results are followed below. Man has highe points than woman on asthetic and economical aspect. In preferences as educational levels more-educated person has an affirmative response on keeping traditions. In jobs students and white-collar people have affirmative responses on traditions. (4) What one wants to wear the most is the fourth Hanbok(mixing western and Korean costume style with Korean costume fabrics) and daily-life Hanbok with western costume fabrics has 51.8% preferences of responsers. With those results man's daily-life HanBok made through the first and the second design development lessens the inconvenience of Hanbok with some degrees. Also if daily-life Hanbok design continue to be developed through using Korean costume fabrics and western costume fabrics people can easily by functional and practical daily-life Hanbok because it can be massproduced.

The objectives of this study are to find out the process of changes of the costume in the era of practical science, and to search the bukhak's view of the costume. Conclusions are described as follows 1. The bukhak pursued the function and the rationality in men's costumes, and healed with the welfare point of view in the commons and humbles clothes, and criticized the phenomenon of over-fashion in women's costume. 2. They contended for thrift against the luxury. But as they had also a modem thinking at the same time, they seemed to have a flexibility. Therefore they persued the essential courtesy in manners and costume. 3. The common people of Yi dynasty had the idea that Yi dynasty is a small China replace by Ming dynasty. But the bukhak had a self-existent standpoint and a realistic idea to the Ch'ing dynasty. But they would have received the Minis culture as the reactionism in the costume. Chinese envied or ridiculed the korean costume. 4. It was the pursuit of the rationality that the Bukhak presented the direction of the costume. They contended for the growth of the business and the development of technique in order to reform the clothing industry.

The objective of this paper is to find out the costume in the era of Practical Science through the books written by Yack-Young Chung. Conclusions are described as follows: 1. A disorder of a class system is to be seen from the correlation between the upper class costume and the lower class costume. 2. He made an effort to develope technics and enlarge the specialist for the revolution of costume system. 3. He stressed the thrift for the revolution of custom through clothing. 4. He insisted that the use of clothing be out of formal courtesy, from the fact he showed his idea for the basic courtesy.
