Erlang capacity for the reverse link of an imperfect power controlled DS/CDMA cellular system in multipath fading environments (다중경로 페이딩 환경에서 불완전 전력제어된 DS/CDMA 셀룰라 시스템의 역방향 링크에 대한 얼랑용량)

  • In this paper, for the reverse link of a imperfect power controlled DS/CDMA cellular system when a mobile radio channel is a Rayleigh distributed multipath fading channel, A extended DS/CDMA blocking probability formula considering both shadowing and multipath fading is derived. Erlang capacity and equivalent channel number considering shadowing are analyzed and compared with those considering both shadowing and multipath fading, respectively. The DS/CDMA blocking probability is calculated based on the analysis method that obtains Erlang capacity and ICF(interference correction factor) using the median value of $E_{b(i)}$/ $I_{0}$ corresponding to each reverse link user Assuming that the blocking probability set 2%, it is observed that the Erlang capacity is 19.97 Erlang at the data rate $R_{b}$=9.6 kbps and 11.67 Erlang at the data rate $R_{b}$=14.4 kbps and then is less 16% and 19% than the Erlang capacity considering shadowing only, respectively. It is also shown that the effect of multipath fading must not be ignored and then exact Erlang capacity and equivalent channel numbers that the DS/CDMA cellular system can support are provided.d.d.d.

Evaluation of Tensile Properties of Alloy 690TT Steam Generator Tube at Room Temperature and 343℃ (상온과 343℃에서 Alloy 690TT 증기발생기 전열관의 인장물성치 평가)

  • This study conducted tensile tests on an Alloy 690TT tube at room temperature (RT) and at $343^{\circ}C$ using tube- and ring-type specimens to investigate the stress-strain behavior and tensile properties of a steam generator (SG) tube in the axial and circumferential directions at RT and at the design temperature of a nuclear power plant (NPP). The results of the axial tensile test showed that yield point phenomena appeared at both RT and $343^{\circ}C$, and serrated flow in the stress-strain curve appeared at $343^{\circ}C$. Yield and tensile strengths for both directions were clearly lower at $343^{\circ}C$ compared to RT; however, the elongations were approximately the same at both test temperatures. Regardless of the test temperature, the strengths in the circumferential direction were lower by approximately 5~10 % than those in the axial direction. In addition, the test data revealed that the reduction in the yield and tensile strengths of the Alloy 690TT SG tube with the test temperature was more significant than that estimated by the temperature correction factor of ASME Sec.II.

  • This study is aimed at providing information on injury prevention and skill improvement by inducing the accurate movements in exercise as well as understanding the principles of badminton drive movements. Movement displacement of racket head showed the similar patterns among those surveyed but, it seemed that slight differences resulted from external factors such as height, length of brachial and forearm and individual trend of swing locus. Regarding upper joint angle per phase, the angles of shoulder joint, elbow joint and wrist joint were closely associated in taking drive movements and they supported the segment order theory that power was conveyed from proximal into distal. It was shown that angular velocity of upper joint became larger in follow through movement after impact among all those surveyed, which meant the importance of follow through in racket sports such as badminton. In conclusion, this follow through movement acts as an important factor in racket sports in terms of pose stability maintenance, pose correction of movements and injury prevention of joints. In summary, when swings are made according to segment order theory, efficient movements can be taken.

Study on the Estimation of leaf area index (LAI) of using UAV vegetation index and Tree Height data (UAV 식생지수 및 수고 자료를 이용한 엽면적지수(LAI) 추정 연구)

  • The leaf area index (LAI) is a major factor explaining the photosynthesis of vegetation, evapotranspiration, and energy exchange between the earth surface and atmosphere, and there have been studies on accurate and applicable LAI estimation methods. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the actual LAI data, UAV image-based vegetation index, canopy height and satellite image (Sentinel-2) LAI and to present an effective LAI estimation method using UAV. As a result, among the six vegetation indices in this study, NDRE ($R^2=0.496$) and CIRE ($R^2=0.443$), which contained red-edge band, showed a high correlation. The application of the canopy height model data to the vegetation index improved the explanatory power of the LAI. In addition, in the case of NDVI, the saturation problem caused by the linear relationship with LAI was addressed. In this study, it was possible to estimate high resolution LAI using UAV images. It is expected that the applicability of such data will be improved if calibration and correction steps are carried out for various vegetation and seasonal images.

Assessment of Visual satisfaction & Visual Function with Prescription Swimming goggles In-air and Underwater (도수 수경 착용시 실내와 수중에서의 시각적 만족도 및 시력 평가)

  • Purpose: To investigate the visual function with prescription swimming goggles. Methods: 15 university students (mean age: $22{\pm}1.54$ years) participated, with a mean distance refractive error of RE: S-1.67 D/C-0.40 D, LE: S-1.70D/C-0.37 D. Inclusion criteria were no ocular pathology, able to wear soft contact lenses to correct their refractive error to emmetropia and able to swim. Participants were fitted with contact lenses to correct all ametropia. Subjective evaluation for satisfaction of visual acuity, asthenopia and balance were also measured using a questionnaire while wearing swimming goggles with cylinder (C+1.50 D, Ax $90^{\circ}$) compared with plano sphere outside the swimming pool area. Visual acuity was assessed using the same ETDRS chart. The prescription swimming goggles powers were assessed in random order and ranged in power from S+3.00 D to S-3.00 D in 0.50 D steps. Results: Subjective evaluation was significantly worse for the swimming goggles with cylinder than for the plano powered goggles for all 3 questions, visual acuity, asthenopia and balance. Visual acuity were significantly affected by the different power of the swimming goggles (p<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the in-air in-clinic and underwater in-swimming pool measures (p=0.173). However, visual acuity measured in the clinic was significantly better than underwater for some swimming goggle powers (+3.00, +1.00, +0.50, 0, -1.00 and -2.00 D). Conclusions: Wearing swimming goggles underwater may degrade the visual acuity compared to within air but as the difference is less than 1 line of Snellen acuity, and it is unlikely to result in significant real-life effects. Having an incorrect cylinder correction was found to be detrimental resulting in lower score of satisfaction. Considering slippery floor of swimming pool area, it can be a potential risk factor. Therefore, it is important to correct any refractive error in addition to astigmatism for swimming goggle.
