Energy autonomy is a system that is sustained by energy from an independent and distributed source such as renewable energy. In this paper, we propose a robotic energy autonomy in which a robot obtains energy from a renewable energy source with a limited storage capacity. As an energy transfer method, wireless power transfer is used to solve the problem of the conventional contact charging method, mechanical complexity, and to obtain high energy transfer efficiency, the image information is used to align the transmitting and receiving coils accurately. A small scale thermoelectric energy source with boost converter, battery charger, and wireless power transfer coil is constructed and an actual charging experiment is conducted to verify the proposed autonomy system.

The Available Transfer Capability (ATC) is defined as the measure of the transfer capability remaining in the physical transmission network for further commercial activity above already committed uses. Available Transfer Capability (ATC) calculation is a complicated task, which involves the determination I of total transfer capability (TTC), transmission reliability margin (TRM) and capability benefit margin (CBM). As the electrical power industry is restructured and the electrical power exchange is updated per hour, it is important to accurately and rapidly quantify the available transfer capability (ATC) of the transmission system. In ATC calculation,. the existing CPF method is accurate but it has long calculation time. On the contrary, the method using PTDF is fast but it has relatively a considerable error. This paper proposed QFA method, which can reduce calculation time comparing with CPF method and has few errors in ATC calculation. It proved that the method can calculate ATC more fast and accurately in case study using IEEE 24 bus RTS.
This study proposes a comprehensive mathematical model that includes coil-system circuit and loss models for power converters in wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. The proposed model helps in understanding the performance of WPT systems in terms of coil-to-coil efficiency, overall efficiency, and output power capacity and facilitates system performance optimization. Three methods to achieve constant output power for variable-load systems are presented based on system performance analysis. An optimal method can be selected for a specific WPT system by comparing the efficiencies of the three methods calculated with the proposed model. A two-coil 1 kW WPT system is built to verify the proposed mathematical model and constant output power control methods. Experimental results show that when the load resistance varies between 5 and $25{\Omega}$, the system output power can be maintained at 1 kW with a maximum error of 6.75% and an average error of 4%. Coil-to-coil and overall efficiencies can be maintained at above 90% and 85%, respectively, with the selected optimal control method.
Fluoronitriles-$CO_2$ gas mixtures are promising alternatives to $SF_6$ in environmentally-friendly gas-insulated transmission lines (GILs). Insulating gas heat transfer characteristics are of major significance for the current-carrying capacity design and operational state monitoring of GILs. In this paper, a three-dimensional calculation model was established for a GIL using the thermal-fluid coupled finite element method. The calculated results showed close agreement with experimentally measured data. The temperature distribution of a GIL filled with the Fluoronitriles-$CO_2$ mixture was obtained and compared with those of GILs filled with $CO_2$ and $SF_6$. Furthermore, the effects of the mixture ratio of the component gases and the gas pressure on the temperature rise and current-carrying capacity of the GIL were analyzed. Results indicated that the heat transfer performance of the Fluoronitriles-$CO_2$ gas mixture was better than that of $CO_2$ but worse than that of $SF_6$. When compared with $SF_6$, use of the Fluoronitriles-$CO_2$ gas mixture caused a reduction in the GIL's current-carrying capacity. In addition, increasing the Fluoronitriles gas component ratio or increasing the pressure of the insulating gas mixture could improve the heat dissipation and current-carrying capacity of the GIL. These research results can be used to design environmentally-friendly GILs containing Fluoronitriles-$CO_2$ gas mixtures.

The Tactical Information and Communication Network system provides real-time multimedia services such as voice and data by utilizing the Mobile Subscriber Access Point. At this time, an external transmission path is constructed through the Low Capacity Trunk Radio and the High Capacity Trunk Radio system. The communication devices of each wireless transmission system are mounted on a tactical vehicle and a secondary battery is used to prevent a power interruption when the supply power to the tactical vehicle is transferred to the integrated power control device. In this paper, the basic design of the Wireless Power Transfer device for charging the battery of the integrated power control system of the mobile base station system using the Loading Distribution Method and checking the number of primary windings and the core material selection by the air gap through the Finite Elements Method.
This paper deals with an empirical model for decoupling control to control the refrigeration system effectively. The conventional control schemes of the system are mainly focused on representative two control methods, superheat control and capacity control. The capacity control is basically conducted to respond partial loading conditions on the purpose of energy saving. The superheat control is mainly carried out to maintain maximum coefficient of performance (COP). In the variable speed refrigeration system, the capacity and the superheat are controlled by inverters and electronic expansion valves respectively for saving energy and improving cost performance. The capacity and superheat can not be controlled independently because of interfering loop when the compressor speed and opening angle electronic expansion valve is varied. Therefore, we suggest decoupling model to eliminate the interfering loop at first. Next, each transfer function in decoupling control model is obtained from number of experiments.
This paper proposes the power conversion mechanism of a bailer-charge-transfer zero-current-switching (CT-ZCS) circuit. The operation modes are analyzed and researched using state trajectory equations. The topology of CT-ZCS based on soft-switching inverters offers some merits such as: tracking the input reference signal dynamically, bearing load shock and short circuit, multiplying inverter N+1 redundancy parallel, coordinating power balance for easy control, and soft-switching commutation for high efficiency and large capacity. These advantages are distinctive from conventional inverter topologies and are especially demanded in AC drives: new energy generation and grid, distributed generation systems, switching power amplifier, active power filter, and reactive power compensation and so on. Prototype is manufactured and experiment results show the feasibility and dynamic voltage-tracking characteristics of the topology.

This paper proposes a hybrid ESS that integrates an energy storage system (ESS) with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The hybrid ESS has a demand management and emergency power supply function while increasing the battery utilization of the UPS, which has just been used in a power failure. In addition to the critical load, the proposed system augments the capacity of emergency generation using an additional load, which has voltage and frequency-dependent characteristics to the grid side. The control algorithm of the AC-DC converter and bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed for demand management and emergency power supply. Furthermore, seamless and autonomous transfer methods to alleviate the transient during mode transfer are proposed. To validate the proposed control scheme, experimental results from a 5 kW prototype are provided.

This paper presents an experimental study on condensing heat transfer characteristics of R-22 alternative refrigerants, R-290 and R-410a on water sources heat pump. The apparatus mainly consisted of vapor pump condenser used to the test section evaporator manual expansion valve and measuring device. Test section constructed a smoothed tube of 10.07 mm ID and 12.7mm OD with a total length 6,300 mm was horizontal double pipe counterflow condenser. The refrigerants R-22, R-290 and R-410a were cooled by a coolant circulated in a surrounding annulus. Experimental range of mass velocities was changed from about 100 to 300 kg/($m^2$.s) and inlet quality 1.0 The credibility of experimental apparatus was 6 percent between heating capacity and cooling capacity added to compressor shaft power. The condensing heat transfer coefficients were increased with increasing mass velocity. However in case of R-290 they were more increasing than those of R-410a and R-22 Comparing the heat transfer coefficient between the experimental data and other's data the Cavallini-Zecchin's data was revealed to more similar prediction of author's experimental results on the average heat transfer coefficients.
