In the Internet of Thing (IoT) framework, massive machine-type communications (MMTC) have required large spectral efficiency. For this, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has emerged as an efficient solution. Recently, a non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) NOMA scheme has been implemented without loss. This lossless NOMA without SIC is achieved via correlated superposition coding (SC), in contrast to conventional independent SC. However, conventional minimum high-correlated SC for only 2-user NOMA schemes was investigated in the lossless 2-user non-SIC NOMA implementation. Thus, this paper investigates a 3-user low-correlated SC scheme, especially for an inflated achievable sum rate, with a design of 3-user low-correlated SC. First, we design the 3-user low-correlated SC scheme by taking the minimum sum rate between 3-user SIC NOMA and 3-user non-SIC NOMA, both with correlated SC. Then, simulations demonstrate that the low correlation in the direction of the first user's power allocation inflates the sum rate in the same direction, compared to that of conventional minimum high-correlated SC NOMA, and such inflation due to low correlation is also observed similarly, in the direction of the second user's power allocation. Moreover, we also show that the two low correlations of the first and second users inflates doubly in the both directions of the first and second users' power allocations. As a result, the proposed 3-user low-correlated SC could be considered as a promising scheme, with the inflated sum rate in the future fifth-generation (5G) NOMA networks.

It is essential to satisfy class-specific QoS constraints to provide broadband services for new generation networks. The present study proposes a QoS-driven multicast scheme for wireless networks in which the transmission rate and end-to-end delay are assumed to be bounded during a multiple multicast session. A distributed algorithm was used to identify a cost-efficient sub-graph between the source and destination which can satisfy QoS constraints of a multicast session. The model was then modified as to be applied for wireless networks in which satisfying interference constraints is the main challenge. A discrete power control scheme was also applied for the QoS-aware multicast model to accommodate the effect of transmission power level based on link capacity requirements. We also proposed random power allocation (RPA) and gradient power allocation (GPA) algorithms to efficient resource distribution each of which has different time complexity and optimality levels. Experimental results confirm that the proposed power allocation techniques decrease the number of unavailable links between intermediate nodes in the sub-graph and considerably increase the chance of finding an optimal solution.

In this paper, to optimize the average delay and power allocation (PA) for system users, we propose a resource scheduling scheme for wireless networks based on Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) according to the first fifth-generation standards. For delay minimization, we solve a throughput maximization problem that considers CPOFDM systems with carrier aggregation (CA). Regarding PA, we consider an approach that involves maximizing goodput using an effective signal-to-noise ratio. An algorithm for jointly solving delay minimization through computation of required user rates and optimizing the power allocated to users is proposed to compose the resource allocation approach. In wireless network simulations, we consider a scenario with the following capabilities: CA, 256-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, millimeter waves above 6 GHz, and a radio frame structure with 120 KHz spacing between the subcarriers. The performance of the proposed resource allocation algorithm is evaluated and compared with those of other algorithms from the literature using computational simulations in terms of various Quality of Service parameters, such as the throughput, delay, fairness index, and loss rate.

Resource allocation based on quantized feedback plays a critical role in wireless mesh networks with a time division multiple access (TDMA) physical layer. In this study, a resource allocation problem was formulated based on quantized feedback for TDMA wireless mesh networks that minimize the total transmission power. Three steps were taken to solve the optimization problem. In the first step, the codebook of the power, rate and equivalent channel quantization threshold was designed. In the second step, the timeslot allocation criterion was deduced using the primal-dual method. In the third step, a resource allocation scheme was developed based on quantized feedback using the stochastic optimization tool. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme not only reduces the total transmission power, but also has the advantage of quantized feedback.

This paper analyzes the power allocation scheme to maximize the sum-rate for heterogeneous networks based on asynchronous time division duplex. We consider heterogeneous networks where a small cell exists in the macro cell coverage and the small cell and the macro cell share the same time-frequency resources. We formulate the optimization problem which maximizes the sum-rate of the heterogeneous network subject to the target signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. We analyze the feasible region in order for the optimal solution to exists and the optimal power allocation scheme for maximizing the sum-rate. Simulation results show that the proposed power allocation schemes outperform the maximum power transmission scheme.

This paper considers a downlink cognitive radio (CR) network where one secondary user (SU) and one primary user (PU) share the same base station (BS). The spectrum of interest is divided into a set of independent, orthogonal subchannels. The communication of the PU is of high priority and the quality of service (QoS) is guaranteed by the minimum rate constraint. On the other hand, the communication of the SU is of low priority and the SU opportunistically accesses the subchannels that were previously discarded by the PU during power allocation. The BS assigns fractions ?? and 1 ?? of the total available transmit power to the PU and the SU respectively. Two power allocation schemes with opportunistic subchannel access are proposed, in which the optimal values of ??'s are also obtained. The objective of one scheme is to maximize the rate of the SU, and the objective of the other scheme is to maximize the sum rate of the SU and the PU, both under the PU minimum rate constraint and the total transmit power constraint. Extensive simulation results are obtained to verify the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.

The IEEE 802.15.4 standard not only provides a maximum of seven guaranteed time slots (GTSs) for allocation within a superframe to support time-critical traffic, but also achieves ultralow complexity, cost, and power in low-rate and short-distance wireless personal area networks (WPANs). Real-time wireless body area sensor networks (WBASNs), as a special purpose WPAN, can perfectly use the IEEE 802. 15. 4 standard for its wireless connection. In this paper, we propose an adaptive GTS allocation scheme for real-time WBASN data transmissions with different priorities in consideration of low latency, fairness, and bandwidth utilization. The proposed GTS allocation scheme combines a weight-based priority assignment algorithm with an innovative starvation avoidance scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed method significantly outperforms the existing GTS implementation for the traditional IEEE 802.15.4 in terms of average delay, contention free period bandwidth utilization, and fairness.

In this paper, we introduce the low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) subframe reordering scheme for achieving equal combined power allocation in type I hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) systems and analyze the performance improvement by using the channel capacity. Also, it is confirmed that the layered decoding for subframe reordering scheme in H-ARQ systems gives faster convergence speed. It is verified from numerical analysis that a subframe reordering pattern having larger channel capacity shows better bit error rate (BER) performance. Therefore the subframe reordering pattern achieving equal combined power allocation for each subframe maximizes the channel capacity and outperforms other subframe reordering patterns. Also, it is shown that the subframe reordering scheme for achieving equal combined power allocation gives better performance than the conventional Chase combining scheme without increasing the decoding complexity.
We consider connection-oriented wireless cellular networks. These networks employ dedicated radio channels for the transmission of signaling information. A forward signaling channel is a common signaling channel assigned to carry the multiplexed stream of paging and channel allocation(virtual circuit allocation) packets from a base station to mobile stations. The delay levels experienced by paging and channel allocation packets have serious effect on the utilization level of the limited radio channel capacity. While a slotted mode operation is used to reduce the power consumption level at mobile stations, it may induce an increase in packet delay levels. In this paper, we thus consider a multiplexing scheme for paging and channel allocation packets under which slots are dynamically allocated for the paging packet transmission. For this dynamic scheme, we develop an analytical method for deriving the delay characteristics exhibited by paging and channel allocation packets, and investigate the effect of network parameters on the delay level by using this method.
In this work, the secrecy of a typical wireless cooperative dual-hop non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-enabled decode-and-forward (DF) relay network is investigated with the impact of collaborative and non-collaborative eavesdropping. The system model consists of a source that broadcasts the multiplexed signal to two NOMA users via a DF relay, and information security against the eavesdropper nodes is provided by a helpful jammer. The performance metric is secrecy rate and ergodic secrecy capacity is approximated analytically. In addition, a differential evolution algorithm-based power allocation scheme is proposed to find the optimal power allocation factors for relay, jammer, and NOMA users by employing different jamming schemes. Furthermore, the secrecy rate analysis is validated at the NOMA users by adopting different jamming schemes such as without jamming (WJ) or conventional relaying, jamming (J), and with control jamming (CJ). Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of CJ over the J and WJ schemes. Finally, the proposed power allocation outperforms the fixed power allocation under all conditions considered in this work.
