Biopotential signals have been used as command in systems using electrical stimulation of motor nerves to restore movement after an injury to the central nervous system (CNS). In order to use the voluntary EMG (electromyography) among the biopotentials as a control signal for the electrical stimulation of the same muscle for CNS injury patients, it is necessary to remove M-wave of having high magnitude from raw data. We designed an optimal filter for removing the M-wave and preserving the voluntary EMG and showed that the optimal filter is eigen filter. We also proved that the previous method using the prediction error filter(PEF) is a suboptimal filtering in the sense of preserving the voluntary EMG. On basis of the data obtained from a model for M-wave and voluntary EMG and from actual CNS injury patients, with false-positive rate analysis, the proposed adaptive filter showed a very promising performance in comparison with previous method.

In this study, we conducted study on the confirmation of thermal-hydraulic safety for Mast assembly with Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) analysis. Before performing the natural convection analysis for the Mast assembly by using CFD code, we validated the CFD code against two benchmark natural convection data for the evaluation of turbulence models and confirmation of its applicability to the natural convection flow. From the first benchmark test which was performed by Betts et al. in the simple rectangular channel, we selected standard k-omega turbulence model for natural convection. And then, calculation performance of CFD code was also investigated in the sub-channel of rod bundle by comparing with PNL(Pacific Northwest Laboratory) experimental data and prediction results by MATRA and Fluent 12.0 which were performed by Kwon et al.. Finally, we performed main natural convection analysis for fuel assembly inside the Mast assembly by using validated turbulence model. From the calculation, we observed stable natural circulation flow between the mast assembly and pool side and evaluated the thermal-hydraulic safety by calculating the departure from nucleate boiling ratio.

In this paper, The path loss model of Air Traffic Control(ATC) telecommunication radio channel has been studied at the Incheon International Airport(IIA) with the terminal with two antlers. We measured two frequencies among VHF/UHF channel bands. The transmitting site radiated the Continuous Wave(CW). The propagation measurement was taken using the moving vehicle equipped with receiver and antenna. The transmitting power, frequency and antenna height are the same as the current operating condition. The path loss exponent and intercept parameters were extracted by the basic path loss model and hata model. The path loss exponents at passager terminal areas were 3.32 and 3.10 respectively in 128.2 MHz and 269.1 MHz. The deviation of prediction error is 9.69 and 9.65. The new path loss equation at the terminal area was also developed using the derived path loss parameters. The new path loss was compared with other models. This result will be helpful for the ATC site selection and service quality evaluation.

It's essential process to study non-linear material function related to characteristics of compressibility and permeability when we predict the consolidation behavior of soft clay ground. In this study, laboratory tests were conducted to find out the material function using marine clay. Standard oedometer test and Rowe cell test were performed with conditions, which were classified into vertical drainage only, radial drainage only and vertical-radial drainage case. Modified oedometer test equipment was developed to find out the material function and special extrusion device was originated to minimize the sample disturbance effect. Reliability of the results in modified oedometer test could be confirmed by comparing with the Rowe cell's one. Effective stress - void ratio - permeability relations were analyzed using all testing results. As a result, void ratio with effective stress level could be expressed by the power function and permeability with void ratio could be expressed by exponential function. In soft clay with high initial water content and low shear strength, non-linear characteristics related to compressibility and permeability varied with wide range by the effective stress levels. It's important to note that non-linearity of the material function should be considered at prediction of the consolidation behavior.
This research aims to figure the different perceptions on the organization-public relationship between military officials and the locals, and the perception on the support military family welfare. In order to analyse their subject point of view, 217 career soldiers and the 191 local residents surveyed during 3 weeks from 10th February to 28th February, 2014. The results getting from this research were as to follows; First of all, the perception on the military organization-public relationship towards local community is more positive in the military officials(M=5.39) than the locals(M=4.99), but different from the two groups(t=6.93, p<.001). Moreover, there exists statistically significant different in every sub-factors and it means the mutual perception consistency is low. Second, the perception on the support from the locals towards military family welfare of military(M=5.38) is higher(t=6.93, p<.001) than the perception of the locals (M=4.76) and it is statistically significant. Third, the a regression coefficient which indicates the impact on the perception on support military family welfare through the change of organization-public relationship shows statistically significant (${\beta}=.82$(p<.001)). As a result, the perception on the military organization-public relationship of the locals has significant prediction power to the perception on the support military family welfare. And when the perception on the military organization-public relationship of the localsis higher, the perception on the support military family welfare has been changed positively.

Background: Chromogranin A (CgA) levels have been reported to predict mortality in patients with heart failure. However, information on the prognostic value and clinical availability of CgA is limited. We compared the prognostic value of CgA to that of previously proven natriuretic peptide biomarkers in patients with acute heart failure. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 272 patients (mean age, 68.5±15.6 years; 62.9% male) who underwent CgA test in the acute stage of heart failure hospitalization between June 2017 and June 2018. The median follow-up period was 348 days. Prognosis was assessed using the composite events of 1-year death and heart failure hospitalization. Results: In-hospital mortality rate during index admission was 7.0% (n=19). During the 1-year follow-up, a composite event rate was observed in 12.1% (n=33) of the patients. The areas under the receiver-operating characteristic curves for predicting 1-year adverse events were 0.737 and 0.697 for N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and CgA, respectively. During follow-up, patients with high CgA levels (>158 pmol/L) had worse outcomes than those with low CgA levels (≤158 pmol/L) (85.2% vs. 58.6%, p<0.001). When stratifying the patients into four subgroups based on CgA and NT-proBNP levels, patients with high NT-proBNP and high CgA had the worst outcome. CgA had an incremental prognostic value when added to the combination of NT-proBNP and clinically relevant risk factors. Conclusion: The prognostic power of CgA was comparable to that of NT-proBNP in patients with acute heart failure. The combination of CgA and NT-proBNP can improve prognosis prediction in these patients.

It is an essential to predict water usage for establishing an optimal supply operation plan and reducing power consumption. However, the water usage by consumer has a non-linear characteristics due to various factors such as user type, usage pattern, and weather condition. Therefore, in order to predict the water consumption, we proposed the methodology linking various techniques that can consider non-linear characteristics of water use and we called it as KWD framework. Say, K-means (K) cluster analysis was performed to classify similar patterns according to usage of each individual consumer; then Wavelet (W) transform was applied to derive main periodic pattern of the usage by removing noise components; also, Deep (D) learning algorithm was used for trying to do learning of non-linear characteristics of water usage. The performance of a proposed framework or model was analyzed by comparing with the ARMA model, which is a linear time series model. As a result, the proposed model showed the correlation of 92% and ARMA model showed about 39%. Therefore, we had known that the performance of the proposed model was better than a linear time series model and KWD framework could be used for other nonlinear time series which has similar pattern with water usage. Therefore, if the KWD framework is used, it will be possible to accurately predict water usage and establish an optimal supply plan every the various event.

The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with character of nursing students using ecological theory. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 296 nursing students. Collected data from self report questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression with SPSS WIN 21.0. The Results of this study were as follows. A total of 2 models were examined according to individual, microsystem in ecological system theory. In the first model including individual factors, positive emotion, communication ability were significant factors explain character of nursing students. In the second model adding micro system factors family strength and major satisfaction found to be significant factors. The prediction factors of nursing student' character were communication ability (${\beta}=.431$, p<.001), major satisfaction (${\beta}=.310$, p<.001) and family strength (${\beta}=.176$, p<.001). The explanation power was 55.6%. These results showed that factors affecting character of nursing students are communication ability, major satisfaction, and family strength. Therefore, we suggest to develop various character education programs considering these factors.

This paper considers a numerical assessment of the self-propulsion performance of a damaged ferry carrying cars in irregular waves. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were performed to see whether the ferry complied with the Safe Return to Port (SRtP) regulations of Lloyd's register, which require that damaged passenger ships should be able to return to port with a speed of 6 knots (3.09 m/s) in Beaufort 8 sea conditions. Two situations were considered for the damaged conditions, i.e., 1) the portside propeller was blocked but the engine room was not flooded and 2) the portside propeller was blocked and one engine room was flooded. The self-propulsion results for the car ferry in intact condition and in the damaged conditions were assessed as follows. First, we validated that the portside propeller was blocked in calm water based on the available experimental results provided by KRISO. The active thrust of starboard propeller with the portside propeller blocked was calculated in Beaufort 8 sea conditions, and the results were compared with the experimental results provided by MARIN, and there was reasonable agreement. The thrust provided by the propeller and the brake horsepower (BHP) with one engine room flooded were compared with the values when the engine room was not flooded. The numerical results were compared with the maximum thrust of the propeller and the maximum brake horse power of the engine to determine whether the damaged car ferry could attain a speed of 6 knots(3.09 m/s).

In this study, the fatty acid (FA) composition of commercial sesame oils (n = 62) was investigated using gas chromatography with flame ionization detector (GC-FID). Multivariate statistical techniques, including principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA), were applied to the chromatographic data of the FAs to discriminate the geographical origin of sesame oils. A statistically significant difference was observed in the content of C16:0, C18:0, C18:1, and C18:2 between domestic and imported sesame oils. A satisfactory recovery rate of 82.8-100.2 % was achieved for C16:0, C18:0, C18:1, C18:2, and C18:3. The correlation of C16:0, C18:1, and C18:2 in domestic sesame oils showed opposite trends compared to imported oils. The PCA plot demonstrated that sesame oils were clustered in distinct groups according to their origin. LDA was used to predict sesame oil samples in one of the two groups. C16:0 (Wilks λ = 0.361) and C18:1 (Wilks λ = 0.637) demonstrated the highest discriminant power for classifying the origin of the samples. The correct prediction rates were 88.9 % and 100 % for the domestic and imported samples, respectively. Further, 60 of the 62 sesame oil samples (96.8 %) were correctly classified, indicating that this approach can be used as a valuable tool to predict and classify the geographical origin of sesame oils.
