Spectral element method in the analysis of vibrations of overhead transmission line in damping environment

  • In the paper the analysis of natural vibrations of the transmission line with use of spectral elements and the laboratory experiments is performed. The purpose of the investigation is to analyze the natural vibrations of the transmission line and compare with the results obtained in the numerical simulations. Particular attention is paid to the hysteretic and aerodynamic damping analysis. Sensitivity of the wave number is performed for changing of the tension force, as well as for the different damping parameters. The numerical model is made using the Spectral Element Method. In the spectral model, for various parameters of stiffness, damping and tension force, the system response is checked and compared with the results of the accelerations obtained in the measurements. A frequency response functions (FRF) are calculated. The credibility of the model is assessed through a validation process carried out by comparing graphical plots of FRF and time history analysis and numerical values expressing differences in acceleration amplitude (MSG), phase angle differences (PSG) and differences in acceleration and phase angle total (CSG) values. The next aspect constituting the purpose of this paper is to present the wide possibilities of modelling and simulation of slender conductors using the Spectral Element Method. The obtained results show good accuracy in the range of both experimental measurements as well as simulation analysis. The paper emphasizes the ease with which the sensitivity of the conductor and its response to changes in density of spectral mesh division, tensile strength or material damping can be studied.

  • Porcelain insulators have generally been used in Korea to insulate a transmission line from the tower, and a highly polymerized compound polymer insulator which has superior stain proof characteristics, has also been used widely. Currently, a worker rides on the suspension insulator string for installation on towers and conductors but in case of polymer insulators, this will pollute and scratch the housing result in durability reduction by deterioration and corona. This study developed a high strength aluminum compound metal lauder designed to work on polymer insulators without riding, and a clamp type connecting device and safety gear for easy installation on the tower and conductor. These polymer insulator work device can be used for 154kV and 345kV polymer insulators through a strength and load test to secure safety. This paper presents field usage.

  • 최근 전력산업에 가장 커다란 이슈는 신재생에너지의 증가이며 이에 따라 전력계통의 수용성을 확보하기 위한 다양한 기술개발이 추진되고 있다. 또한 세계적으로 보다 융통성 있는 친환경 에너지의 활용을 위하여 국가 및 지역간 전력계통을 연계하는 슈퍼그리드의 구성이 추진되고 있다. 이러한 성격이 서로 다른 계통 간에 연계를 위하여 반드시 요구되는 기술이 초고압 직류송전기술이다. 지금까지 국내에서는 육지와 제주도를 해저케이블로 연결하는 HVDC 송전기술이 적용되었으나 동해안의 발전단지에서 수도권의 부하밀집 지역으로 장거리 대용량 전력전송을 위한 직류가공송전 방식의 기술개발이 추진되고 있다. 인구밀도가 높고 산악이 많은 국내 환경을 고려해 최소한의 경과를 활용하여 8 GW 급의 대용량 전력을 전송하기 위해 도체귀로방식의 ${\pm}500kV$ Double Bipole 송전선로 설계기술을 개발하고 이를 적용하기 위한 사업화를 추진하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 세계 최초로 적용 예정인 도체귀로방식의 Double Bipole 송전선로의 설계를 위한 절연특성에 관한 연구를 수행하고 송전선로에 발생하는 다양한 과전압현상에 견디는 공기절연특성을 실증시험을 통하여 검증하고 이를 서술하였다.

수동루프에 의한 송전선로 상불평형 발생에 관한 연구 (A Study on Three-phase Imbalance of a Power Transmission Line due to Installation of a Passive Loop Conductor)

  • 가공송전선로주변 자계저감 기법 중에서 수동루프 방식은 기존 송전철탑에 적은 비용으로 용이하게 적용되어 만족할 만한 저감효과를 제공할 수 있지만 수동루프에 유도되는 전류에 의해 송전손실이 증가될 뿐 아니라 송전선로의 기하학적 비대칭성이 증가됨으로써 상불평형이 증가하게된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수동루프 설치에 따른 송전손실과 송전선로 수전단에서의 상불평형을 모의하고자한다. 345[kV]급 수평 상배치 1회선 가공송전선로를 선정하여 수동루프를 송전선로의 선로정수에 포함시킨 비대칭 3상 분포정수 모델로 표현하였으며 이것에 대한 미분방정식을 정의하고 해를 구함으로써 수전단 3상의 전압과 전류를 계산했다. 그 결과로부터 각 상에 따라 전력손실이 다르게 발생하며 수전단에서 정상분이 감소하는 대신에 역상분이 증가함을 확인하였다. 일반적으로 수동루프에 의한 상불평형이 차지하는 비중이 크지는 않지만 수동루프 설치구간과 유도전류의 크기 등에 비례하여 증가하므로 수동루프 도입에 따른 소요비용을 산출하는 과정에서 그에 따른 영향을 포함시켜야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • HVAC transmission lines must be designed to satisfy environmental regulations. Therefore it is necessary to pre-evaluate environmental problems for transmission line designer using prediction program. In this study, environment design software, TLCALC 2001 for transmission lines was developed as a comprehensive window program. It has 6 modules that are audible noise, radio noise, television noise, magnetic field, electric field and conductor surface gradient. TLCALC 2001 solved a few problems in use of the existing foreign tools and took several advantages. Experienced designers can get the results of calculation within about 15 minutes. Because the use of TLCALC 2001 is easy and practical, this program will be usefully applied to the environmental friendly design and construction of HVAC transmission lines. In the future, it is expected that public complaints and social environmental cost will be reduced by the use of TLCALC 2001.

  • H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터는 여러 개의 단상 Power Cell을 직렬로 연결함으로써 저전압 전력용 반도체를 사용하여 고전압을 얻을 수 있고, 정현파에 가까운 출력전압 파형을 얻을 수 있는 멀티레벨 인버터 토폴로지이다. 본 논문은 산업현장에서 신뢰성을 인정받아 많이 사용되고 있는 직렬통신 방식의 일종인 CAN통신 인터럽터를 이용한 H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터 Power Cell의 PU 동기화 및 위상전이 방법에 관한 것이다. 제안된 방법의 주요 장점은 주제어기와 셀 제어기 사이에 직렬통신(CAN)을 사용함으로써 주제어기와 셀 제어기의 신호선의 단순화, 주제어기의 부담 감소, Power Cell의 모듈화, 셀 단위의 보호동작 용이, 확장성 향상 그리고 제어 신호 및 Power Cell의 신뢰성을 향상에 있다. 13레벨로 구성된 H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터 시험을 통해 제안된 방법의 타당성과 신뢰성을 입증하였다.

  • Optimal routing of distribution networks can be attained by keeping the line power capacity limit to handle load requirements, acceptable voltage at customer loads, and the reliability indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI, and ASAI limits. This method is composed of optimal loss reduction and optimal reliability cost reduction. The former is solved relating to the conductor resistance of all alternative routes, and the latter is solved relating to the failure rate and duration of each alternative route. The routing considering optimal loss only and both optimal loss and optimal reliability cost are compared in this paper. The case studies with 10 and 24 bus distribution networks showed that reliability cost should be considered as well as loss reduction to achieve the optimal routing in the distribution networks.

  • According to previous report, aged sleeves for old transmission lines have various defect such as biased installation or corrosion of steel sleeve. These defects occupied almost 50 percent of investigated aged sleeves. The defects have been limited power capacity of transmission line. And it can cause serious problems such as rapid increasing of sag or falling out of overhead conductor from sleeve. This paper study on thermal behavior of sleeve with various defect model. The detailed results were presented in the text.
