This study introduces an LCC resonant converter operating on a continuous conduction mode. The LCC resonant converter has the advantage of improving system efficiency, especially under the rated load condition, because it can reduce conduction loss by improving the resonance current shape and switching loss by increasing the lossless snubber capacitance. The proposed LCC resonant converter is applied to various applications, including a 60 kW EV fast charger, a 24 kJ/s high-voltage capacitor charger, and a 20 kV, 20 kW high-precision DC power supply. Experimental results prove that the proposed LCC resonant converter topology can be effectively used as a converter topology for these applications.

A new high efficiency zero-voltage and zero-current switching (ZVZCS) bidirectional DC/DC converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter consists of two symmetric half-bridge cells as the input and output stages. MOSFETs of input stage are turned-on in ZVS condition, and those of output stage are turned-off in ZCS condition. In addition, MOSFETs of input and output stages have low voltage stresses clamped to input and output voltage, respectively. Therefore, the proposed converter has high efficiency and high power density. The operational principles are analyzed and the advantages of the proposed converter are described. The 300W prototype of the proposed converter is implemented for 42V hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) application in order to verify the operational principles and advantages.

In this paper, For achieving the high gain and resonant characteristics in both of the power flow directions, a bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter with auxiliary switches is proposed. Auxiliary switches are connected in the primary and secondary side of the bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter, respectively. A 800W prototype bidirectional resonant dc-dc converter for interfacing the 400V DC buses in the energy storage system is built and tested to verify the validity and applicability of this proposed converter.
In this study, a novel single phase soft switched power factor correction (PFC) converter is developed with active snubber cell. The active snubber cell provides boost switch both to turn on with zero voltage transition (ZVT) and to turn off with zero current transition (ZCT). As the switching losses in the proposed converter are too low, L and C size can be reduced by increasing the operating frequency. Also, all the semiconductor devices operate with soft switching. There is no additional voltage stress in the boost switch and diode. The proposed converter has a simple structure, low cost and ease of control as well. It has a simple control loop to achieve near unity power factor with the aid of the UC3854. In this study, detailed steady state analysis of the proposed converter is presented and this theoretical analysis is verified by a prototype of 100 kHz and 500 W converter. The measured power factor and efficiency are 0.99 and 97.9% at full load.
In this paper discusses isolation driver of single phase AC-DC reversible power converter The reversible power converter driven by binary combination at different transformer winding ratio by BCD code level. It has a advantage that constructs a control system simply and obtain load current of good quality with out filter circuit and free from noise or isolation for lower switching frequency. In this research, study on current type converter and inverter circuit that consist for possibility of AC-DC/BC-AC multi-level reversible converter.
This paper presents an IHQRR (Integrated High Quality Rectifier Regulator) BIFRED (Boost Integrated Flyback Rectifier Energy Storage DC-DC) converter fed BLDC (Brushless DC) motor drive. A reduced sensor topology is derived by utilizing a BIFRED converter to operate in a dual DCM (Discontinuous Conduction Mode) thus utilizing a voltage follower approach for the PFC (Power Factor Correction) and voltage control. A new approach for speed control is proposed using a single voltage sensor. The speed of the BLDC motor drive is controlled by varying the DC link voltage of the front end converter. Moreover, fundamental frequency switching of the VSI's (Voltage Source Inverter) switches is used for the electronic commutation of the BLDC motor which reduces the switching losses in the VSI. The proposed drive is designed for a wide range of speed control with an improved power quality at the AC mains which falls within the recommended limits imposed by international power quality standards such as IEC 61000-3-2.

A novel single-switch, single-stage, AC/DC forward converter with transformer magnetic energy feedback technique for power factor correction is proposed. The operational principle and analysis of the proposed converter is presented. The proposed converter gives the good power factor correction, low line current harmonic distortions, and tight output voltage regulation. The prototype shows the IEC 555-2 requirements are met satisfactorily with nearly unity power factor.

The rapidly growing demand for electric power systems in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) require simpler, cost-effective, and higher performance components. In this paper, a novel power conversion system for hybrid electric vehicles is proposed for these needs. The proposed power conversion system reduces the conversion system cost while preserving same functionality. The proposed power conversion system can boost multi-sources to drive a traction motor and to store energy at the same time reducing number of switching components. In this paper, all operational modes of the proposed converter are explained in detail and verified by a computer simulation first. Then, the topology and operational modes are experimentally verified. Based on the results, the feasibility of the proposed multi-mode single leg power conversion system for EV and HEV applications is discussed.

This paper estimates the capacity of shunt type active power filters(APF) for harmonic/reactive power compensation with a thyristor converter load. The base capacity requirement of APF is defined for idealized converter load current waveform and the effect of commutation overlap on the APF capacity is examined. The APF capacity required for reactive power compensation in addition to the harmonic elimination is estimated to give maximum achievable power factor for various operating condition of the partially-loaded thyristor converter. The method of current limit of APF is introduced, and it is shown that the APF capacity can be considerably reduced by deliberately limiting the peak current while maintaining the filtering performance to meet the level std 519 regulation.

This paper proposes a new power conditioning system for the fuel cell power generation, which consists of a ZVS DC-DC converter and 3-phase inverter. The ZVS DC-DC converter with a digital controller boosts the fuel cell voltage of 26-50V up to 400V, and the grid-tie inverter controls the active power delivered to the grid. The operation of proposed power conditioning system was verified through simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was verified through experimental works with a laboratory prototype, which was built with 1.2kW PEM fuel-cell stack, 1kW DC-DC converter, and 3kW PWM inverter. The proposed system can be utilized to commercialize an interconnection system for the fuel-cell power generation.
