  • This paper proposes 5 phase step motor drive system has high performance dynamics with micro step control has current controller. In this paper, analog current controller has been developed to minimize system size and cost. The validity of the proposed technique is verified through experimental results of position control robot.

  • Recently study on components for a electric golf car and a utility car driven by a electric motor has been performed actively, and the study on a drive motor, a inverter and a battery focuses on a small, light weight and high power density source to improve fuel efficiency using limited electric energy. Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed

  • The solar vehicle is in the spotlight in the eco-friendly aspect of photovoltaic system using unlimited solar energy. The solar vehicle uses energy of photovoltaic and battery. The solar vehicle uses stored energy in battery when photovoltaic power is lower than consumption power by solar vehicle and if photovoltaic power is higher than consumption power by solar vehicle then photovoltaic power is stored to battery. To improve use efficiency of photovoltaic, the researches about MPPT method to operate maximum power point and interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM)drive system using photovoltaic is necessary. This paper proposes MPPT control algorithm for solar vehicle using new fuzzy control(NFC). In this paper, to reduce switching loss, the DC-DC converter is omitted. The NFC controller can be use instead of PO. The NFC controller is performed MPPT control using solar cell voltage and q -axis current of IPMSM. The output of NFC is command q -axis current of IPMSM and this current is operated IPMSM. The response characteristics of algorithm proposed in this paper is compared response characteristics of conventional PO method by PSIM program and validity of this paper prove using this result.

  • This paper introduces a new Motion-$SPM^{TM}$ (Smart Power Modules) module in Single In-line Package (SIP), which is a fully optimized intelligent integrated IGBT inverter module for up to 1kW low power motor drive applications. This module offers a sophisticated, integrated solution and tremendous design flexibility. It also takes advantage of pliability for the arrangement of heat-sink due to two types of lead forms. It comes to be realized by employing non-punch-through (NPT) IGBT with a fast recovery diode and highly integrated building block, which features built-in HVICs and a gate driver that offers more simplicity and compactness leading to reduced costs and high reliability of the entire system. This module also provides technical advantages such as the optimized cost effective thermal performances through IMS (Insulated Metal Substrate), the high latch immunity. This paper provides an overall description of the Motion-$SPM^{TM}$ in SIP as well as actual application issues such as electrical characteristics, thermal performance, circuit configurations and power ratings.

  • Reaction drive rotor system is capable of providing hover and low speed capabilities to different aircraft concepts such as stopped rotor wing, canard rotor wing, compound gyroplane etc. Existing sizing and analysis tools for shaft drive rotor system cannot be applied directly to this system. The available methodologies to size this system were reviewed. Power available calculation procedure and factors affects it were addressed prior to sizing process. Various design issues of this system due to interrelationship of internal gas flow dynamics and rotor external aerodynamics was discussed. Finally, a modification that is required in existing sizing methodologies was identified and combined approach in sizing process to consider the interrelationship among engine, rotor and blade duct was introduced.

  • 본 논문에서는 BLDC 전동기 센서리스 드라이브의 성능 향상을 위한 새로운 전동기 제어 기법을 제안한다. 최근 센서리스 제어방법의 주류를 이루고 있는 단자전압을 이용하는 방식들은 전동기를 동기 모드로 운전할 때 과도한 전압이 인가되면, 회전자 위치를 정확하게 검출할 수 없다. 특히 과도상태영역에서의 응답특성이 좋지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 미지 입력인 역기전력을 추가적인 시스템의 상태로 모델링하고, 전체 시스템을 역기전력에 대한 미분방정식 형태 외란 모델을 도입한 확장 상태방정식으로 표현함으로서 얻어지는 상태관측기를 통하여 전동기의 속도 및 회전자 위치를 추정하는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다.

Robust Fuzzy Logic Current and Speed Controllers for Field-Oriented Induction Motor Drive

  • This paper presents analysis, design and simulation for the indirect field orientation control (IFOC) of induction machine drive system. The dynamic performance of the IFOC under nominal and detuned parameters of the induction machine is established. A conventional proportional plus integral-derivative (PI-D) two-degree-of-freedom controller (2DOFC) is designed and analysed for an ideal IFOC induction machine drive at nominal parameters with the desired dynamic response. Varying the induction machine parameters causes a degredation in the dynamic response for disturbance rejection and tracking performance with PI-D 2DOF speed controller. Therefore, conventional controllers can nut meet a wide range of speed tracking performance under parameter variations. To achieve high- dynamic performance, a proposed robust fuzzy logic controllers (RFLC) for d-axis rotor flux, d-q axis stator currents and rotor speed have been designed and analysed. These controllers provide robust tracking and disturbance rejection performance when detuning occurres and improve the dynamic behavior. The proposed REL controllers provide a fast and accurate dynamic response in tracking and disturbance rejection characteristics under parameter variations. Computer simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed REL controllers and a robust performance is obtained fur IFOC induction machine drive system.

초음파 모터 구동을 위한 단순화된 디지털 주파수/위상차/전압 제어기 (A Simplified Digital Frequency/Phase/Voltage Controller for the Traveling Wave Type Ultrasonic Motor Drive System)

  • 본 논문에서는 인버터를 사용하여 진행파형 초음파 모터를 구동할 때에 구동 주파수, 위상차 및 상간의 전압을 제어하기 위해 새로운 방식의 초음파 모터 구동용 디지털 제어기를 제안하였다. 제안된 디지털 제어기는 주파수 발생과 위상차 제어를 하기 위하여 기존의 제어기에서 사용한 디지털-아날로그 혼합 방식이 아닌 디지털 논리에 의하여 출력이 발생되며 이로 인하여 제어기의 구성이 대폭 단순해진 특징을 갖는다. 제안된 디지털 제어기는 두 가지 형태로 주파수와 위상만을 제어하기 위한 경우와 상간의 전압까지 제어하기 위한 경우로 분리하였다. 실험에서는 상용 LSI와 EPLD를 사용하여 구현된 단순화된 디지털 제어기의 성능을 평가하였다.

유도전동기의 고성능 슬립전력 회수방식에 대한 연구 (A Study on the High Performance Slip Power Recovery System in Induction Motor)

  • Among the variable-speed AC motor drive systems, the static slip power recovery system has been widely adopted in large power drives because a high efficiency drive can be obtained by recovering the slip power to the AC line. Although many improvements have been made in this system, several problems also remain such as the need of transformer in inverter AC side, which results in limiting speed control range and increasing the losses, production of reactive power by the control of inverter firing angle, harmonics in line currents, and so on. This paper presents the novel high performance slip power recovery system using the boost converter and small size filter in the rotor circuit, which recovers slip power of a wound rotor induction machine to AC supply efficiently with the aid of the boost converter, in which most of the problems in conventional system can be solved. The speed can be controlled by the duty ratio of the converter switch, not by inverter firing angle. As a results, the proposed system can operate in high power factor and the harmonic currents caused by the inverter and rectifier can be considerably suppressed. The validity of the proposed system verified by demonstrating the good agreement in the simulation and experimental results.

A Hydraulic-Oil Pump System using SR Drive with a Direct Torque Control Scheme

  • The hydraulic-oil pump is widely used for building machinery, brake systems of vehicles and automatic control systems due to its high dynamic force and smooth linear force control performance. This paper presents a novel direct instantaneous pressure control of the hydraulic pump system with SRM drive. The proposed hydraulic pump system embeds the pressure controller and direct instantaneous torque controller. Due to the proportional relationship between pump pressure and torque, pressure can be controlled by the motor torque directly. The proposed direct torque controller can reduce inherent torque ripple of SRM, and develop a smooth torque, which can increase the stability of the hydraulic pump. The proposed hydraulic pump system has also fast step response and load response. The proposed hydraulic pump system is verified by computer simulation and experimental results.
