  • LTPS has potential capability to realize various kinds of circuit integrations on panel glass because of its relatively higher field effect mobility of around 100cm2/Vs. Recent progress of LTPS technologies and advanced technologies, which are generally called "System on Glass (SOG)," will be discussed. The technology includes circuit integration, photo-sensor integration for input functions, and display quality and performance improvement.

  • Urban areas face congestion problems that diminish personal mobility and freight-transportation productivity. An increasing number of experts suggest that separating freight traffic from passenger traffic makes sense in terms of economics, the environment, and safety. Some experts suggest that underground freight transportation are the solution. The objective of this paper is to review the potential benefits and limitations of freight pipelines as a viable mode of cargo transport that can alleviate congestion on urban highways.

  • In this study, system analysis for a train vehicle with an articulated bogie frame adopted in TGV and TGV-K system is performed. System analysis is carried out as follows. First, modal analysis of each subsystem is performed to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes. Then modal analysis, of a whole vehicle is performed to obtain the potential interaction between the subsystems. Finallyforced response analysis, such as driving point mobility, is performed to obtain the dynamic response of specific points.

  • Little research has empirically examined cross-sector job mobility between non-profit and for-profit sector despite the rise and increased importance of this phenomenon in Korea. Using the panel data of Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) by the Korea Employment Information Service, this study attempts to examine changes in job satisfaction(overall score and 10 facet scores) associated with four types(retention at non-profits, turnover from non-profits to for-profits, turnover from for-profits to non-profits, and retention at for-profits) of cross-sector job mobility among college graduates by employing a first difference model. Major results reveal that (1) in the group of retention at non-profits, 'overall job satisfaction' is consistently higher; (2) in the group of retention at non-profits, negative change in 'overall job satisfaction' is the largest; (3) in the group of 'for-profits to non-profits,' negative change in 'stability of employment' is the smallest; (3) in the group of 'non-profits to for-profits,' negative change in 'job contents' is the smallest; (4) in the group of 'non-profits to for-profits,' negative change in 'weekly work hours' is the largest; (5) in the group of retention at non-profits, negative change in 'potential growth & development' is the largest; and (6) in the group of retention at non-profits, negative change in 'social reputation' is the smallest;. This study has made a start in a new area of inquiring attempting to explain cross-sector job mobility and raises implications for future research.

  • Electrophoretic display has recently stimulated tremendous interest due to potential commercialization in the filed of information displays including e-books, e-newspapers, and other low-power portable displays. A new transparent soft mold press (TSMP) process developed in this study was found to give a good electrophoretic display panel with prepatterned micropools for the filling of charged particle slurry. It was also found that charged $TiO_2$ particles with 74.09 mV of zeta potential and 3.11 ${\times}$ $10^{-5}$ $cm^2$/Vs of mobility were successfully prepared.

  • Sheep hemoglobin (SHb) was modified with methoxy-polyethylene glycol (mPEG) to develop a potential blood substitute. mPEG has been used to decrease antigenicity and immunogenicity of foreign proteins. When the mPEG was attached to SHb, the modified hemoglobins showed decreased electrophoretic mobility on SDS-PAGE and decreased free amino groups. When the remaining free amino groups of mPEG modified SHb were determined by TNBS free amino group titration methods. about 34% of total free amino groups were modified with mPEG. This mPEG-SHb conjugate of 34% amino groups modified showed no precipitation by double immunodiffusion with polyclonal antibodies against SHb. This modified hemoglobin still has oxygen transport activity. So this antigenicity decreased hemoglobin may be used in humans as a potential blood substitute.

  • The purpose of this paper is to meausre the electrophotographic characteristics of double-layered organic photoreceptor and to evaluate an application for the laser beam printer drum. The characte carrier generation layer(CGL) of double-layered photoreceptor was fabricated with .tau.-H$_{2}$Pc which has high photosensitivity in the near-infrareed region(thickness is about 0.3.mu.m), and Oxadiazole derivative was chosen as a charge carrier transport layer(CTL) because of its high hole mobility. To observe the electrophotographic characteristics of the photoreceptor, we measured the charge acceptance, dark-decay ratio, residual potential after light irradiation. From the result of this study, proper thickness of CTL was about 10.mu.m. Also it's realized that electrophotographic characteristics of the photoreceptor were depend on the thickness of the CTL and the initial surface potential.

  • Surfactant-enhanced electrokinetic remediation is an emerging technology that can effectively remove hydrocarbons from low-permeability soils. In this study, the electrokinetic remediation using APG(alkyl polyglucoside) was conducted for the removal of phenanthrene from kaolinite. APG, which was an environmentally compatible and non-toxic surfactant, was used at concentrations of 5, 15, and 30g/1 to enhance the solubility of phenanthrene. Also an electrolyte solution was used for considering a relation between electrical potential gradient and removal efficiency of phenanthrene. When the electrolyte solution was used, it represented low electrical potential gradient, but the removal efficiency was lower than that of no electrolyte system. Removal efficiency of phenanthrene in EK process using surfactant solution depended on concentration of surfactant. Because surfactant increased the solubility and the mobility of phenanthrene, when surfactant concentration was high, high removal efficiency was observed.

  • This paper presents a new robot motion planning method for moving obstacle avoidance. To consider the mobility of a moving obstacle, we define virtual distance function(VDF) between the robot and the obstacle. At each sampling time, we use the VDF to construct an artificial potential, considering the motion of obstacles. The robot moves according to the repulsive and attractive force vector induced by the artificial potential function. The proposed algorithm can be driven the robot to avoid moving obstacles in real time. Some simulation studies show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The relaxation phenomena of ionic currents through the charged membrane under the constant applied potentials has been studied. The formulation was obtained for the non stationary current by assuming that the ion mobility is independent of concentration and the potential gradient is a constant within membrane, and it was applied to the experimental results with the sulfonated polystyrene collodion base membrane. It has been shown that the initial ion distributions in the membrane play a predominant role in the relaxation phenomena.
