Purpose: Increasing competition in the higher education sector has prompted universities to enhance their marketing efforts and understand their potential customers. The study aims to explore how information sources are used and changed among prospective Vietnamese students during the decision-making process. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: This study undertakes a longitudinal study involving multiple rounds of data collection to better understand the decision-making process of prospective students. Data was collected from 12th -grade students in Vietnam through two rounds of quantitative surveys with 251 students and one round of qualitative interviews, spanning the duration of their senior year. The three stages of the decision-making process correspond to the three stages of pre-purchase period. Results: Most students decide that attending open days, taking career assessments, and looking up information online are the most important information sources to consider. The WOM sources are more important in the early stages, while university-generated sources and events are important in the later stages. Conclusion: Implications from this study may contribute to the design of more effective marketing communications campaigns as university marketers gain a better understanding of the distribution of information sources utilized for each specific stage of the decision-making process.
Purpose: K-beauty products industry trends, estimates and dynamics are examined in this study to discover a potential possibility for growth. There is a thorough examination of the elements that drive and impede the expansion of the K-beauty industry. This study aims to investigate marketing strategy of K beauty product to enhance economic growth in South Korea. Research design, data and methodology: This study used one of the most famous approach for analyzing the current literature which is a PRISMA (Process and Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method. This method maps out the number of records identified, the included and the excluded ones with the reasons for the exclusion. The technique clearly states the research problem and the appropriate scope. Results: The theoretical findings of prior literature indicates K-beauty companies should retain physical locations despite the trend toward online commerce, in order to guarantee that they meet the demands of different customers and enhance customer experiences to develop trust and loyalty. Conclusions: The findings of this research are of academic importance since they provide light on customer preferences for new K-beauty products. While past research has often ignored certain kinds of influencers, this study emphasized the need of considering influencers and certain product exposure strategies together, which has major academic consequences.
The objective of this study was to explore how different types of rewards affect customers' inclinations to engage in environmental activities promoted through restaurant social media platforms. In addition, we investigated the potential moderating role of customer level of participation within the social media community. A total of 202 valid responses obtained by distributing a self-administered survey among restaurant patrons were subjected to hierarchical regression analysis to examine relationships between variables. The findings underscored the significant influence of economic and social rewards on shaping customer intent to participate in environmental initiatives promoted within restaurant social media communities. Furthermore, the study revealed that the extent of customer participation within the social media community moderated the relationship between rewards and their likelihood to partake in environmentally conscious behaviors. These results have meaningful implications for restaurant managers seeking to promote environmental initiatives effectively through social media platforms and within their establishments.
This study utilized the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) to examine usage intentions associated with virtual fitting services. Six independent variables were examined: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, and habit. The study collected responses from 445 participants who had utilized virtual fitting services. Regarding factors related to usage intentions associated with these services, performance expectancy and social influence were found to significantly influence the usage intentions associated with photo-based virtual fitting services. Furthermore, performance expectancy, social influence, and habit significantly influenced the usage intention of avatar-based virtual fitting services. This suggests that higher levels of performance expectancy and social influence positively impact the usage intentions associated with both types of virtual fitting services, while habit influences only avatar-based virtual fitting services. Moreover, the findings confirm that effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, and hedonic motivation from UTAUT2 do not significantly influence usage intentions associated with virtual fitting services. By analyzing factors influencing potential customers' virtual fitting service usage intentions, this study can suggest effective strategies to increase usage intentions for companies providing virtual fitting services. Additionally, these findings can be utilized in the formulation of virtual fitting service marketing strategies.
Purpose: Virtual reality's impact on fashion distribution extends beyond singular transactions, facilitating the emergence of novel collaborations. As investigating the characteristics of fashion distribution channels in virtual reality, this study explores how the fashion industry can utilize virtual reality distribution channels to their maximum capacity while minimizing potential disadvantages. Research design, data, and methodology: The approach used to gather previous studies for this study adheres to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology. This method is widely acknowledged and recommended for its systematic and transparent approach to selecting relevant literature. This kind of literature search plays a vital role in a systematic evaluation as it informs the results. Results: The finding indicates consistently a total of eight kinds of characteristics of fashion distribution channels in virtual reality. The result means that the attributes of fashion distribution channels in virtual reality are causing significant changes in the fashion industry, revolutionizing the consumer experience, and redefining the parameters of creativity and collaboration. Conclusions: In sum, the global reach and accessibility of modern technology enhance the capacity of fashion companies to expand their market presence. This facilitates their participation in intercultural interactions and allows them to serve a wide range of customers.
Purpose: In Part 1, the purpose of this study is to examine how a used product provider optimizes a company's profits by comparing an extended warranty to a used product only when selling a product and what it provides later. In addition, in Part 2, an empirical study can confirm the structure in which extended guarantees can work effectively by grasping consumers' purchase intention according to the time of sale of extended guarantees, which is the basic premise of the analysis model of Part 1. Methods: This study aims to conduct not only analytical studies but also empirical studies applying various statistical analysis methods using questionnaires targeting customers and potential consumers who have subscribed to extended warranty services. Results: The study showed that the profits of companies providing extended warranty services were proportional to the coefficient of the extended guarantee service value, so it is necessary to create an environment in which the effect of extended guarantee services can be well realized. In the empirical model, the higher the emotional and economic benefits are perceived, the higher the purchase intention according to the future purchase of extended guarantees. Conclusion: Through this study, various problems that may be caused by the structural diversity of the supply chain providing extended warranties in the future can be viewed and contribute to the theoretical foundation for strategic understanding.
Purpose: The primary purpose of this research is to understand the potential influence of various factors, namely, pharmacies' recommendations, families' and friend recommendations, price, country of origin, and past experience, on the purchasing decision of nonprescription medicines in the Jordanian context. Research design, data, and methodology: A survey was conducted among 220 Jordanian consumers through a self-administered questionnaire. Further, the authors utilized the mall intercept method as a convenience sampling technique to recruit the respondents who shop at different pharmacies. The data were analyzed using various statistical techniques, such as frequency and percentage for describing the demographics of the sample, Cronbach's alpha for testing the reliability of the data, skewness and kurtosis to check the normality of data, and further, multiple regression using SPSS version 25 was performed for examining the hypotheses. Results: The findings revealed that pharmacists' recommendation, recommendations from friends and family, and price positively influenced consumers' purchase decisions of OTC medicines in Jordan, whereas consumers' past experience and country of origin had no influence on consumers' purchasing decisions of OTC medicines. Conclusions: The paper examines the influence of various factors on customers' purchase decisions of OTC medicines, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations. Also, research limitations are mentioned.
This study applies the job-demands resource (JD-R) model to investigate the interactive effect of job demands and job resources in predicting the development of service employee work engagement and customer-oriented attitude. This paper proposed a theoretical model that suggests that the service employee's work engagement is the consequence of the employee's perceived support from the organization and its customers (customer participation) and leads to a customer-oriented attitude. However, the effect of organizational support is somewhat hindered by job insecurity, demonstrating the inability of an organizationally provided job resource to overcome the job demand of job insecurity. As a type of job demand from customer's perspective, customer crowding is suggested as a negative moderator in the link between customer participation and work engagement. As such, this article proposes how different elements of a service employee's work environment interact to ultimately influence the service employee's customer-oriented attitude. Specifically, the current research focuses on how the negative contextual elements of job insecurity and job crowding (i.e., job demands) interact with the potentially positive elements of organizational support and customer participation (i.e., job resources), as well as with an employee's customer orientation, to ultimately develop a customer-oriented attitude. This study concludes with some propositions for potential causal relationships among key constructs that can be empirically tested in future research, as well as implications of the current study for both managers and researchers.
Purpose: The study is focused on understanding consumer behaviour related to credit card use in retail payment or identifying factors that influence risk perception. Research design, data and methodology: Based on data collecting from structured self-administered questionnaires of 247 Vietnamese bank account payers, this study uses the Cronbach alpha analysis, the factor analyses, the structural equation modeling to assess the research's measurement model and structural model with the presence of knowledge, propensity to trust, self-efficacy, risk perception, intended use and their complex, intertwined relationships. Results: The results reveal that customer's perceived risk, which is affected by their self-efficacy and propensity to trust, negatively impact on their intended use of credit cards in retail payment. However, there is no evidence of the significant influence of consumer knowledge on how they assess potential losses of credit card. Conclusions: These findings provide a better understanding of consumer risk perception, its antecedents and consequence in a direction of credit card adoption. Bank managers or marketers should focus on increasing the information about credit cards and issues related to credit card use in retail payment, promoting mechanisms to encourage customers to participate in the credit card experience.
The detection of products with manipulated reviews has received widespread research attention, given that a truthful, informative, and useful review helps to significantly lower the search effort and cost for potential customers. This study proposes a method to recognize products with manipulated online customer reviews by examining the sequence of each review's sentiment, readability, and rating scores by product on randomness, considering the example of a Russian online retail site. Additionally, this study aims to examine the association between brand awareness and existing manipulation with products' reviews. Therefore, we investigated the difference between well-known and unknown brands' products online reviews with and without manipulated reviews based on the average star rating and the extremely positive sentiment scores. Consequently, machine learning techniques for predicting products are tested with manipulated reviews to determine a more useful one. It was found that about 20% of all product reviews are manipulated. Among the products with manipulated reviews, 44% are products of well-known brands, and 56% from unknown brands, with the highest prediction performance on deep neural network.
