Comparing volumetric and biological aspects of 3D-printed interim restorations under various post-curing modes

  • Purpose. This study aims to compare the volumetric change, degree of conversion (DOC), and cytotoxicity of 3D-printed restorations post-cured under three different conditions. Materials and Methods. 3D-printed interim restorations were post-cured under three different conditions and systems: 5 min, 30 min, and 24 h. Three-unit and six-unit fixed dental prostheses (n = 30 for each case) were printed; ten specimens from each group were post-cured and then scanned to compare their volumetric changes. Root-mean-squared (RMS) values of the data were acquired by superimposing the scanned files with original files. Thirty disk-shaped specimens were printed to evaluate the DOC ratio. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to compare the DOCs of 10 specimens from each group. Human gingival fibroblasts were used to measure the cell viability of every specimen (n = 7). The data from this experiment were employed for one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's post-hoc comparisons. Results. Differences between the three-unit restorations were statistically insignificant, regardless of the post-curing conditions. However, for the six-unit restorations, a high RMS value was acquired when the post-curing duration was 30 min. The average DOC was approximately 56 - 62%; the difference between each group was statistically insignificant. All the groups exhibited cell viability greater than 70%, rendering them clinically acceptable. Conclusion. The post-curing conditions influenced the volume when the length of the restoration was increased. However, this deviation was found to be clinically acceptable. Additionally, post-curing did not significantly influence the DOC and cytotoxicity of the restorations.

Algorithm for Discrimination of Brown Rice Kernels Using Machine Vision

  • An ultimate purpose of this study is to develop an automatic brown rice quality inspection system using image processing technique. In this study emphasis was put on developing an algorithm for discriminating the brown rice kernels depending on their external quality with a color image processing system equipped with an adaptor for magnifying the input image and optical fiber for oblique illumination. Primarily , geometrical and optical features of sample images were analyzed with unhulled paddy and various brown rice kernel samples such as sound, cracked, green-transparent , green-opaque, colored, white-opaque and brokens. Secondary, an algorithm for discrimination of the rice kernels in static state was developed on the basis of the geometrical and optical parameters screened by a statistical analysis(STEPWISE and DISCRIM Procedure, SAS ver.6). Brown rice samples could be discriminated by the algorithm developed in this study with an accuracy of 90% to 96% for the sound , cracked, colored, broken and unhulled , about 81% for the green-transparent and the white-opaque and about 75% for the green-opaque, respectively. A total computing time required for classification was about 100 seconds/1000 kernels with the PC 80486-DX2, 66MHz.

오존공정이 입상활성탄공정에서 용존유기물질의 제거에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ozonation on Removal of Dissolved Organic Matter by Granular Activated Carbon Process)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 파일롯 규모의 입상활성탄지에서 흡착과 생물학적 제거 기작이 진행되는 장기간의 운전동안 전처리공정으로서 오존처리의 영향을 평가하는 것이다. 공정별로 용존 또는 생분해성 유기물질의 제거, DOM의 성상과 특성변화와 미생물의 증식의 변화를 평가하였다. 오존공정이 존재하는 입상활성탄 공정(전오존처리+활성탄 여과지; Pre O$_3$ + F/A, 후오존처리 + 활성탄 흡착지; Post O$_3$ + GAC)은 오존의 위치(전오존 후오존)에 상관없이 입상활성탄 단독공정(활성탄 여과지; F/A, 활성탄 흡착지; GAC)에 비해 생물학적 제거능이 활성화된 장기간 운영 후에 DOC, 친수성 용존유기물(HPI), BDOC와 AOC의 제거율이 10$\sim$20% 정도로 높았다. 오존공정은 전반적인 DOC 제거에는 큰 영향을 주지는 못했지만, AOC를 약 20% 정도로 감소시켜 관로내 미생물의 재증식을 저감하는데 기여할 것으로 생각된다. 활성탄 여재에 고정된 미생물의 생체량인 Biomass는 전처리로서 오존처리의 유.무에 상관없이 공정별로 큰 차이를 보이지 않은 반면에, 유출수에서의 HPC는 F/A나 GAC에 비해 Post O$_3$ + GAC에서 매우 낮았다.

A Study on Fraud Detection in the C2C Used Trade Market Using Doc2vec

  • 본 논문에서는 사기 거래를 사전에 예방하고 XAI 접근 방식을 사용하여 해석할 수 있는 기계학습 모델을 제안한다. 실험을 위해 국내 주요 온라인 C2C 재판매 거래 플랫폼인 중고나라에서 휴대폰 판매 게시물 1만2,258개에 대한 실제 데이터셋을 수집했다. 게시물 본문에 해당하는 텍스트를 Doc2vec을 이용해 특성을 추출했고 PCA를 통해 차원축소를 했으며, 이전 연구를 바탕으로 다양한 파생변수가 만들어졌다. 전처리 단계에서 데이터 불균형 문제를 해결하기 위해 오버샘플링과 언더샘플링을 결합한 복합샘플링 방법이 적용되었다. 이러한 특성을 기반으로 사기성 게시물을 탐지하는 기계학습 모델들이 학습되었다. 분석 결과 LightGBM이 다른 기계학습 모델에 비해 가장 우수한 성능을 보였다. 그리고, SHAP을 이용한 분석 결과, 시세에 비해 터무니없게 가격이 쌀수록, 거래지역 표기가 없을수록, 가격이 높을수록, 안전거래를 하지 않을수록, 택배거래를 할수록, 가격 중 0의 비율이 많을수록 사기 게시글일 확률이 높았다.

벽체 단부의 횡보강근 양에 따른 변형능력의 평가 (Effect of Edge Confinement on Deformation Capacity in the Isolated RC Structural Walls)

  • Structural walls have been mostly used for the design of reinforced concrete buildings in seismic areas because they play a role as an efficient bracing system and offer great potential for lateral load resistance and drift control. The lateral resistance system for the earthquake load should be designed to have enough ductility and stable hysteretic response in the critical regions where plastic deformation occurred beyond yielding. The behavior of the reinforced concrete element to experience large deformation in the critical areas by a major earthquake is affected by the performance of the confined core concrete. Thus, the confinement of concrete by suitable arrangements of transverse reinforcement results in a significant increase in both the strength and ductility of compressed concrete. This paper reports the experimental results of reinforced concrete structural walls for wall-type apartment structure under axial loads and cyclic reversal of lateral loads with different confinement of the boundary elements. The results show that confinement of the boundary element by open 'U'-bar and cross tie is effective. The shear strength capacity is not increased by the confinement but deformation capacity is improve.

국내 정수장 고도정수처리 공정에서 공정별 처리효율 조사 (Investigation of Treatment Efficiency for Advanced Processes of Water Treatment Plants in Korea)

  • Advanced processes such as ozonation or activated carbon filtration (ACF) in water treatment plants have been used in Korea since 1994. At present, seventeen drinking water treatment plants are currently operating. This survey compares the treatment performance of advanced processes in eight plants which have comparable water quality data. The three parameters (DOC, $UV_{254}$, and $KMnO_4$ consumption) of water quality were selected as an indicator of treatment efficiency. The treatment efficiency of ozonation and ACF processes was found to vary with large deviations in each plant. Treatment efficiency of DOC, $UV_{254}$, and $KMnO_4$ consumption by post ozonation ranged from 3 to 11%, 6 to 33%, and 12 to 28% respectively. On the other hand, for ACF, treatment efficiency of DOC, $UV_{254}$, and $KMnO_4$ consumption ranged from 7 to 38%, 8 to 48%, and 16 to 66% respectively. These large deviations indicate the advanced processes of water treatment plants to be further optimized.
