  • This study aimed to develop and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Thai Elderly Resilience Scale (TERS). Its conceptual structure consists of three identified domains, I AM, I HAVE, and I CAN, within the 18 components that were initially used for developing the item pool. The first draft of the scale consisted of 50 items. A psychometric evaluation of content validity reliability and construct validity was conducted. The results yielded the current version of the TERS based on Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) consisting of 24 items categorized into 5 factors: 1) being able to join other people, 2) being confident in life 3) have social support 4) living with spiritual security and 5) being able to de-stress and manage problems. The scale had a high internal consistency (${\alpha}=.94$). A strong positive correlation between resilience and mental health scores were found (r=.84, p<.01, n=30). The newly developed TERS would be a useful tool to assess resilience in Thai elderly and can be applied to develop further studies regarding elderly Thai people.

  • Experiencing work as a calling has been associated with various positive work-related attitudes and outcomes. Recent studies have examined personal and contextual factors related to job calling; however, gaps remain in the literature on how employees' perception of organizational environment may lead to the formation of employees' job calling. We focused on psychological climate of innovation as the predictor of employees' job calling and further investigated its effect on extra-role behaviors, including innovative work behavior (IWB) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). A total of 165 Malaysian employees from diverse industries and organizations participated in a self-reported online questionnaire. We found support for the mediation model in which the association between a psychological climate of innovation and increased extra-role behaviors through increased job calling. Altogether, these findings provided new insights into the important role of innovative climate on employees' job calling and the mediating role of job calling on extra-role behaviors within occupational settings. Theoretical and practical implications are further discussed.

  • This research investigates the intricate dynamics governing loyalty and recommendation behaviors. The primary objective is to discern the impact of community development on user loyalty and its subsequent influence on product recommendations, using the Indonesian online brand community of the software Micromine as a case study. The technology acceptance model, which argues that adoption is done because of perceived ease, and cognitive dissonance theory, which describes how individuals adjust to reduce discomfort, provide the framework for this study. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, all 300 members of the online Micromine Indonesia community population were surveyed. The findings reveal that community members establish emotional connections through active participation in community forums. Satisfaction with the software's solutions in mining endeavors is prevalent among Micromine community members. Regression analysis showed that a positive attitude about the brand community was positively correlated with both brand loyalty (R2 = .83) and the likelihood of recommending the brand (R2 = .78). This supports both theories, where brand community members adopt technology and reduce discomfort by supporting community activities.

  • Through opinion mining, we can analyze the degree of positive or negative sentiments that customers feel about important entities or attributes in online customer reviews. But, the limit of the opinion mining techniques is to provide only simple functions in analyzing the reviews. In this paper, we proposed novel techniques that can analyze the online customer reviews multi-dimensionally. The novel technique is to modify the existing OLAP techniques so that they can be applied to text data. The novel technique, that is, multi-dimensional analytic model consists of noun, adjective and document axes which are converted into four relational tables in relational database. The multi-dimensional analysis model would be new framework which can converge the existing opinion mining, information summarization and clustering algorithms. In this paper, we implemented the multi-dimensional analysis model and algorithms. we recognized that the system would enable us to analyze the online customer reviews more complexly.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the community participation in regional health planning by using the operational definition of participation channels, and to find out the significant variables of community participation channel which are highly related to the scores of regional health plan. The channels we adopted for the study are recommended in the guidebook for regional health planning. They are performing residents' helath survey, submitting written agreement of publics, holding public hearings, putting publicnotice, conducting community health committee meeting, submitting opinion of chambers and Mayors, and operating task-force for planning. We analyzed the selected data of 8 community participation channels, which were submitted by 141 rural health centers for the pursuit of governmental subsidy in 1997. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1. In the process of regional health planning, 88.7% of rural community health centers have performed the residents' health survey, 14.9% submitted written agreement of publics, 11.3% held public hearings, 39.0% put public notice, 46.8% conducting community health committee meeting, 48.9% submitted opinion of chambers, 61.7% submitted opinion of Mayors and 25.5% operated task-force for planning. The result shows that most of community participation channels have been utilized at very low rates, except the residents' health survey. 2. We have analyzed the impact of these community participation channels on the regional health plan scores. In the multiple regression model, we set the regional health plan score as the dependent variable., and the use of participation channels as the idependent variables(1 if the channels are used, 0 otherwise). Finally, the regression analyses show that two channel variables, opinion of chambers and public notice, were the significant positive channel variables on the score of community health plan.

  • Recently, a big text data has been produced by users, an opinion mining to analyze information and opinion about users is becoming a hot issue. Of the opinion mining, especially a sentiment analysis is a study for analysing emotions such as a positive, negative, happiness, sadness, and so on analysing personal opinions or emotions for commercial products, social issues and opinions of politician. To analyze the sentiment analysis, previous studies used a mapping method setting up a distribution of emotions using two dimensions composed of a valence and arousal. But previous studies set up a distribution of emotions arbitrarily. In order to solve the problem, we composed a distribution of 12 emotions through carrying out a survey using Korean emotion words list. Also, certain emotional states on two dimension overlapping multiple emotions, we proposed a selection method with Roulette wheel method using a selection probability. The proposed method shows to classify a text into emotion extracting emotion terms from a text.

  • Background: Asia is on track to become the region with the most elderly people in the world. The elderly population will reach 922.7 million by the middle of this century. Therefore, they will be cared for by the today's youth. Negative attitudes toward older people can make adolescents more uncomfortable relating to them. Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate validity and reliability of Kogan's attitude toward old people among nursing students in Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia. Methods: Content validation of the 34-item Kogan's attitude toward old people was examined by three geriatric nursing experts. The reliability was evaluated on 600 nursing students, from nursing colleges in Thailand (200), Myanmar (200), and Indonesia (200). Findings: The attitude scores towards the elderly ranged from 34 to 238. All of the 34 items were found to have significant item-to-total correlations (p< .05). The reliability results were as follows: In Thailand, Cronbach's alpha was .70 for the total scale, .72 for the positive scale, and .68 for the negative scale. In Myanmar, Cronbach's alpha was .68 for the total scale, .65 for the positive scale, and .66 for the negative scale. In Indonesia, Cronbach's alpha was .66 for the total scale, .71 for the positive scale, and .72 for the negative scale. Conclusions: These findings suggest that Kogan's attitude toward old people is reliable and valid for nursing students from Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia. However, Kogan's attitude toward old people should be revised by these countries, including changing wording on all items for better reliability. The revised version must then be tested for reliability and validity.
