  • Recently, with the development of digital technology, new research cases which applied new technology were increased. Also, the related equipment and services are being developed in the industry. Before new equipment is developed and released, it must go through a verification process. In the maritime industry, equipment is verified through simulation tests or environmental tests on land. However, if only the test on land is conducted, verification data in the actual operating environment might be insufficient. In this paper, considerations are described in the development of an onboard demonstration scenario for verification in the operating environment.

  • Coastal shipping performs a pivotal role as a national transportation network and is highly valuable in terms of enabling more economical transportation at affordable prices than road transportation. In this regard, this study aimed to examine changes in the characteristics and centrality of South Korea's costal shipping sea-route networks by analyzing the centrality of domestic coastal shipping. To this end, social network analysis was used as an analysis technique that enables an analysis on the characteristics of coastal shipping networks. As a result, Jeollanam-do showed the highest degree centrality, ranking first in both the in-degree and the out-degree. Jeollanam-do also exhibited the highest betweenness centrality, and Gangwon-do registered the highest closeness centrality. In terms of hub and authority centrality, Jeollanam-do topped the list, followed by Gyeongsangnam-do and Gangwon-do in order. Lastly, Jeollanam-do ranked highest in the hub index, followed by Incheon, other regions, and Gangwon-do in order. This study is significant for suggesting the cities and provinces that play a key role in coastal shipping each year and their corresponding items. Future studies are recommended to identify the trend of coastal shipping through more detailed research on each port by city and province.

  • Device miniaturization and high integrated circuit design is of major interest for the development of electronic devices. Various studies have been conducted to develop new material and processing technique[1]. Negative Differential Resistance(NDR) is the defining behavior in several electronic components, including the Esaki diode and most notably, resonant tunneling diodes(RTD)[2]. We made a comparison of electrical properties between 4,4-Di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-(thioacetyl)benzene and 4-[2,5-dimethoxy-4-(p henylethynyl)phenyl]ethynylphenylethanethioate, which have been well known as a conducting molecule having possible application to molecular level NDR devices. As a result, we measured current-voltage curves using Scanning Tunneling microscopy(STM), I-V curves also showed several current peaks between negative and positive bias region.

  • In this paper, we prepared miniature fuse fabricated with carbon nanotube (CNT) fiber for the use of low rated current under 1 A and high speed operation under 4ms. CNT fuses were fabricated in the form of universal modular fuse (UMF) with different diameter of CNT fibers defined by multiplying the CNT threads. Electrical properties of the CNT fuses were measured such as resistance, rated current, and operation time with current. Resistance of the CNT fuse decreased and rated current increased with the diameter of the CNT fuses, respectively. Consequently, the operation time with current increased with the diameter of the CNT fuses. The CNT fuses fabricated in this work had broad range of low rated current from 0.05 to 1.25 A by multiplying the CNT threads. Operation time was measured about 3.6ms which was applicable to the UMF.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the microstructures and mechanical properties of zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramics prepared from two kinds of 3Y-TZP powders. ZTA composites were prepared by adding two kinds of 3Y-TZP powders, 3YEH (BET = $7m^2/g$) and 3YEM (BET = $16m^2/g$), to ${\alpha}$-alumina in the range of 5-25 wt%. It was found that the microstructure photographs of the ZTA composites showed that the average grain size of alumina decreased as the content of zirconia increased. In our present study, specimens containing 3YEM zirconia exhibited smaller grain sizes compared to those of 3YEH zirconia. The Vickers hardness of the ZTA composites that were sintered at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs was found to smoothly decrease with increasing zirconia content because of the low Young modulus in zirconia. The Vickers hardness of the ZTA containing 3YEH zirconia was greater than that of the 3YEM zirconia. In substance, the fracture toughness ($K_{1c}$) of the ZTA composites increased as the content of zirconia increased. The fracture toughness ($K_{1c}$) of ZTA containing 3YEM zirconia was greater than that of 3YEH zirconia.

  • Clustering method in wireless sensor network is the technique that forms the cluster to aggregate the data and transmit them at the same time that they can use the energy efficiently. Even though cluster group model is based on clustering, it differs from previous method that reducing the total energy consumption by separating energy overload to cluster group head and cluster head. In this thesis, I calculate the optimal cluster group number and cluster number in this kind of cluster group model according to threshold of energy consumption model. By using that I can minimize the total energy consumption in sensor network and maximize the network lifetime. I also show that proposed cluster group model is better than previous clustering method at the point of network energy efficiency.

  • Wireless sensor network is composed of sensor node with limited sources, and to maintain and repair is vexatious once made up. Accordingly it is important matter to maximize the network lifetime by minimizing the energy consumption in wireless sensor network, and utilizing the limited sources efficiently. In this paper, I propose a technique arranging the cluster number with efficiency in clustering method to optimize the energy consumption. The energy usage needed for wireless transmission varies in distance(threshold). This technique reduces the energy consumption considering the threshold when arranging the cluster number. I verify that the clustering method organized through the valid processes outperform the LEACH(Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) in total energy consumption.

  • The technology to locate an individual has enabled various services, its utilization has increased. There were constraints such as the use of separate expensive equipment or the installation of specific devices on a facility, with most of the location technology studies focusing on the accuracy of location verification. These constraints can result in accuracy within a few tens of centimeters, but they are not technology that can be applied to a user's location in real-time in daily life. Therefore, this paper aims to track the locations of smartphones only using the basic components of smartphones. Based on smartphone sensor data, localization accuracy that can be used for verification of the users' locations is aimed at. Accelerometers, Wifi radio maps, and GPS sensor information are utilized to implement it. In forging the radio map, signal maps were built at each vertex based on the graph data structure This approach reduces traditional map-building efforts at the offline phase. Accelerometer data were made to determine the user's moving status, and the collected sensor data were fused using particle filters. Experiments have shown that the average user's location error is about 3.7 meters, which makes it reasonable for providing location-based services in everyday life.
