SiC Fiber 강화 다공질 반응 소결 탄화규소 Composite의 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication of SiC Fiber Reinforced Porous Reaction Bonded SiC Composite and Its Mechanical Properties)

  • In this study, chopped Hi-Nicalon SiC fiber Reinforced Porous Reaction Bonded SiC (RBSC) composites and it fabrication process were developed by using Si melt infiltration process. The porosity and average pore size in fabricated chopped SiC fiber reinforced porous RBSC composites were in the range of $30{\sim}40%$ and $40-90{\mu}m$, which mainly determined by the SiC powder size used as starting material and amount of residual Si in porous composites. The maximum flexural strength of chopped SiC fiber reinforced porous RBSC composite was as high as 80 MPa. The delayed fracture behavior was observed in chopped SiC fiber reinforced porous RBSC composites upon 3-point bending strength test.

섬유보강 다공성 옥상녹화 황토콘크리트의 물리·역학적 및 온도변화 특성 평가 (Physical·Mechanical and Temperature Properties of Fiber Reinforced Porous Green Roof Hwang-toh Concrete)

  • The physical, mechanical, water purification and temperature properties of fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete have been evaluated in this study. The effect of the depending on replacement ratio of blast furnace slag to cement was investigated such that the replacement ratio is varied to 0 % and 30 %. Also, the replacement ratios of hwang-toh were 0, 20 and 30 %. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber was used for the reinforcing fiber. A series of pH test, unit weight, void ratio, compressive strength, after purification and variation of temperature test have been performed to evaluate the performance, water purification effect and temperature properties of the fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete. The test results indicate that the physical and mechanical properties of fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete is affected by the replacement ratio of the blast furnace slag and hwang-toh contents. Results of purifying water showed that the water purification effect of porous hwang-toh green roof concrete is about 40 %. Also, the temperature properties test results indicate the green roof blocks using fiber reinforced porous hwang-toh green roof concrete have insulation and temperature reduction effect.

섬유보강 폴리머 포러스콘크리트의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Studies on the Properties of Fiber Reinforced Porous Concrete Using Polymer)

  • This study is analyzed mechanical properties and durability of permeability porous concrete to mix polymer and steel fiber for the enhance of performance and durability of porous concrete. It proves that void ratio and permeability are tallied with internal and external standard of paving porous concrete. A property of strength is increased according as the mixing rate of polymer and steel fiber increase, but it showed the tendency to be reduced on the contrary when mixed upwards of 20% of polymer mixing rate and 0.9vol.% of steel fiber mixing rate. As a result, it is possible to make an enhanced which increased 16% of compressive strength and 30% of flexural strength steel fiber reinforced polymer porous concrete at the mixing rate of 10vol.% of polymer and 0.6% of steel fiber.

  • The effects of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, and reinforcing fiber on the physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates have been evaluated in this study. The effect of the depending on replacement ratio of blast furnace slag to cement was investigated such that the replacement ratio was varied to 0 %, 25 % and 50 %. Also, the replacement ratios of hwang-toh were 0, 20 and 30 %. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber was used for the reinforcing fiber. A series of pH, unit mass, and void ratio tests have been performed to study the physical properties of the porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates with the polyvinyl alcohol fiber and the replacement ratios of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, while a series of compressive tests have been performed to evaluate the strength property depending on polyvinyl alcohol fiber and the replacement ratios of blast furnace slag, hwang-toh. The test results indicated that the physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete using blast furnace slag coarse aggregates is affected by the replacement ratio of blast furnace slag, and the fiber contents. According to the tests with polyvinyl alcohol fiber contents, the void ratio was decreased and the compressive strength was upgraded.

Effects of Carbon Fiber on Mechanical Behaviour of Al2O3 Porous Ceramics

  • This study reports the improvement of mechanical properties of Al2O3 porous ceramics from colloidal suspension with the addition of carbon fiber by direct foaming. The initial colloidal suspension of Al2O3 was partially hydrophobized by surfactant to stabilize wet foam with the addition of carbon fiber from 2 to 8 wt% as stabilizer. The influence of carbon fiber on the air content, bubble size, pore size and pore distribution in terms of wet foam stability and physical properties of porous ceramics were discussed. The viscosity of the colloidal suspension was increased giving solid like properties with the increased in carbon fiber content. The mechanical properties of the sintered porous samples were investigated by Hertzian indentation test. The results show the wet foam stability of more than 90% corresponds to compressive loading of 156.48 N and elastic modulus of 57.44 MPa of sintered sample with 8 wt% of carbon fiber content.

  • Porous concrete is defined as d type of concrete for which the fine aggregate component the matrix is entirely omitted. Although it had been used as a building material in Europe for over 60 years, low strength and high void ratio limited its application in the past. In recent years, however high void ratio of concrete has been recognized again and can be used as an environmental conscious material, for example, parking lots, draining light-traffic-volume pavements and as sea water purifying material. The result of an experiment on the void ratio of fiber reinforced porous concrete and its influence on the compressive strength and permeability relationship of concrete are reported in this paper. One-sized coarse aggregate of 5-10mm, and three absolute content of fiber(steel fiber, polyprophylen fiber) were used. The result of measured void ratio, permeability coefficient and compressive strength show a small variation. Void ratio, permeability coefficient and compressive strength of fiber reinforced porous concrete depend on contents of fiber and absolute volume ratios of paste to aggregate.

  • 본 연구는 보강섬유의 종류(마섬유, 펄프섬유, PVA섬유, 나이론섬유) 및 혼입률(0.0%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.3%)이 다공성 식생콘크리트의 역학적 특성과 내약품성에 미치는 효과를 평가하였다. 시험은 섬유의 종류 및 혼입률의 변화에 따른 다공성 식생콘크리트의 압축강도, 공극률, pH, 휨강도 및 내약품성 특성을 분석하기 위하여 수행하였다. 섬유의 종류 및 혼입률은 다공성 식생콘크리트의 압축강도, 공극률 및 내약품성에 영향을 미쳤다. 섬유의 혼입률이 증가할수록 압축강도, 휨강도 및 공극률은 증가하였다. 그렇지만 다공성 식생콘크리트의 pH 값과 내약품성은 섬유의 종류 및 혼입률의 변화에 큰 영향이 없었다.

PMMA가 코팅된 주름 구조를 갖는 다공성규소 격판을 이용한 광섬유 압력센서 (Fiber-Optic Pressure Sensor Using a Rugate-Structured Porous Silicon Diaphragm Coated with PMMA)

  • In this research, fiber-optic pressure sensors were fabricated with rugate-structured porous silicon (RPS) diaphragms coated with PMMA (Polymethyl-Methacrylate). The reflectance spectrum of the PMMA/RPS diaphragm was almost the same as that of uncoated RPS diaphragm. However the mechanical strength of the PMMA/RPS diaphragm increased more than that of the uncoated diaphragm. As a result, the fiber-optic sensor fabricated with PMMA/RPS diaphragm could successfully detect more high pressure difference without diaphragm damage than the highest detectable pressure difference of the sensor with normal RPS diaphragm. The response data of the fiber-optic sensor recorded as a function of pressure difference were fitted by theoretical curves. During this process, elastic moduli of the used PMMA/RPS diaphragms were obtained numerically. The dynamic response properties of the fiber-optic sensor were also investigated under continuous variation of the pressure difference conditions.

Mechanical Properties of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Porous Concrete for Planting

  • The mechanical properties of fiber reinforced porous concrete for use as a planting material were investigated in this study. Changes in physical and mechanical properties, subsequent to the addition of carbon fiber and silica fume, were studied. The effects of recycled aggregate were also evaluated. The applicability as planting work concrete material was also assessed. The results showed that there were no remarkable changes in the void and strength characteristics following the increase in proportion of recycled aggregate. Also, the mixture with 10% silica fume was found to be the most effective for strength enforcement. The highest flexural strength was obtained when the carbon fiber was added with $3\%$. It was also noticed that PAN-derived carbon fiber was superior to Pitch-derived ones in view of strength. The evaluation of its usage for vegetation showed that the growth of plants was directly affected by the existence of covering soil, in case of having the similar size of aggregate and void.

석회석 골재를 사용한 강섬유보강 포러스콘크리트의 강도특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Porous Concrete Using Coal Ash and Polymer)

  • 콘크리트는 압축에 강한 특성을 지닌 재료이지만, 인장 및 휨강도가 낮고 균열에 대한 저항성이 약한취성재료라는 단점을 가지고 있어 이에 대한 보완책으로서 철근이 사용되어 왔다. 하지만, 포러스콘크리트는 내부에 존재하는 다량의 연속공극으로 인하여 철근보강시 철근이 공기에 노출되어 부식되는 문제점을 보이고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 강섬유를 혼입과 목표공극률에 따른 공극률, 압축강도,휨강도 및 휨인성 특성을 검토하였다. 실험결과, 강섬유의 혼입에 따른 실측공극률은 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 강도특성에서는 강섬유의 혼입률이 증가 함에 따라 증가하는 것으로 나타났으나 일정량 이상의 섬유가 혼입되었을 경우에는 강도가 오히려 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 휨인성평가에서는 강섬유를 혼입하지 않은 포러스콘 크리트에 비하여 처짐변형 성능이 현저히 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 강섬유를 포러스콘크리트에 활용한 2차제품 및 포장재료 등에 적용하기 위한 강도 및 휨저항성능 향상재료로 사용가능성을 확인하였다.
