동결건조 공정을 이용한 텅스텐 다공체의 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of Porous Tungsten by Freeze-Drying Process)

  • Porous W with controlled pore characteristics was fabricated by a freeze-drying process. $WO_3$ powder and camphene were used as the source materials of W and sublimable vehicles, respectively. Camphene slurries with $WO_3$ contents of 10 and 15 vol% were prepared by milling at $50^{\circ}C$ with a small amount of oligomeric polyester dispersant. Freezing of a slurry was done in a Teflon cylinder attached to a copper bottom plate cooled at $-25^{\circ}C$ while the growth direction of the camphene was unidirectionally controlled. Pores were generated subsequently by sublimation of the camphene during drying in air for 48 h. The green body was hydrogen-reduced at $800^{\circ}C$ for 30 min and sintered in a furnace at $900^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under a hydrogen atmosphere. Microstructural observation revealed that all of the sintered samples were composed of only W phase and showed large pores which were aligned parallel to the camphene growth direction. The porosity and pore size increased with increasing camphene content. The difference in the pore characteristics depending on the slurry concentration may be explained by the degree of powder rearrangement in the slurry. The results strongly suggest that a porous metal with the required pore characteristics can be successfully fabricated by a freeze-drying process using metal oxide powders.

  • Anion-exchange porous hollow-fiber membranes with a thickness of about 1.2 mm and a pore size of about $0.30{\mu}m$ were used as a supporting matrix to immobilize cycloisomaltooligosaccharide glucanotransferase (CITase). CITase was immobilized to the membrane via anion-exchange adsorption and by subsequent enzymatic cross-linking with transglutaminase, the amount of which ranged from 3 to 110 mg per g of the membrane. The degree of enzyme multilayer binding was equivalent to 0.3 to 9.8. Dextran, as the substrate, was converted into seven- to nine-glucose-membered cycloisomaltooligosaccharides (CI-7, -8, and -9) at a maxi mum yield of $28\%$ in weight at a space velocity of 10 per hour during the permeation of $2.0(w/w)\%$ dextran solution across the CITase-immobilized porous hollow-fiber membrane.

  • Existing gas fired burners work in the medium wave IR range at $1000^{\circ}C$ and an energy density of $200kW/m^{2}$. The patented porous burner technology reaches the short wave IR spectrum ($1450^{\circ}C$) and comes up to an energy density of $1000kW/m^{2}$. This technology is of great interest for various applications in paper industry. Speeding up existing coating lines can be realized without a major revamp of the line. Main characteristics of this new developed technology enable a better process control. In this paper the porous burner technology for paper industry is evaluated.

  • Porous anodic alumina(PAA) which has arrays of nano size holes, was incorporated into organic light emitting devices. Porous anodic alumina on glass scattered the light generated from emitting layer and was decreased the waveguiding modes within the glass. An increase in the device coupling-out factor for the scattering structure is demonstrated.

  • W-Cu composite has been used for the applications requiring both high strength, good thermal and electrical conductivity. A graded combination of W and Cu will reduce thermal stress concerned with heat conduction, maintaining good thermal conductivity and high mechanical strength. In the present work, an attempt was made to fabricate continuous W-Cu FGM by preparing the graded porous structure of W skeleton using spark plasma sintering (SPS) process followed by infiltrating Cu. The graded porous structure was prepared at 150$0^{\circ}C$ for 60s under pressure of 15MPa by SPS process using a graphite mold with varying crr)ss section in the longitudinal direction. Infiltration of Cu was performed at 115$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour under $H_2$. W-Cu composite with graded Cu composition of 14 to 27 wt% was finally prepared. In this process the gradient of composition could be conveniently controlled by varying the gradient of cross sectional area of graphite mold, temperature and pressure.

  • 이 연구는 수열합성반응을 통해 규사분을 사용한 무기질 다공성 규산칼슘 재료의 특성에 관한 것으로, 다양한 제조과정에 의해 발생하는 규산질 부산물을 사용한 소음 저감용 다공성 경화체 개발을 위한 기초적 자료로 사용하고자 하였다. 오토클레이브 양생 시편의 제조를 위해 다양한 칼슘질 재료를 사용하였고 규산질 재료는 규사분을 사용하였다. 이 연구에서, W/B와 C/S비에 따라 밀도와 강도 특성, 공극의 형태를 위한 현미경, 오토클레이브양생 후의 수화물 검사를 위해 주사전자현미경과 엑스선회절분석을 각각 수행하였다. 측정 결과로 굳지 않은 상태에서 W/B가 증가할 수록 슬러리 밀도는 점점 감소하고 이러한 경향은 굳은 상태에서도 유사하게 나타났다. 압축강도는 C/S비 0.85 시편이 가장 높게 나타났다. 토버모라이트는 C/S비와는 상관없이 모든 시편에서 생성되었다. 공극구조를 확인하기 위해, 기존에 사용되고 있는 다공질 규산칼슘 제품(ALC, 무기질 흡음재)을 비교했다. 관찰 결과, 기존의 무기질 흡음형 다공성 경화체 기공과 유사한 형상을 보였다. 따라서 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 소음저감형 다공성 경화체의 개발 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

다공의 전열판이 내장된 공기 대 공기 전열교환기의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of Air-to-Air Total Heat Transfer with Rotating Porous Plates)

  • The performance of air-to-air heat exchanger has been investigated with rotating porous plates newly developed in this study. With an equal interval of 18 mm, the rotating porous plates are installed inside the heat exchanger where the hot and cold airs enter at opposite ends. When flowing in opposite directions by the separating plate installed in the center of the rotating porous plates, the airs give and receive the heat each other. Dry bulb temperature is set by adjusting heat supply at heater. In order to measure the temperature distribution of the hot air side inside heat exchanger, the thermocouples are inserted between the plates. The first location of thermocouple is 10mm downstream from the inlet of heat exchanger, and succeeding ten locations are aligned at an equal interval of 18mm. From the experiment of air-to-air heat exchanger with the rotating porous plates, the heat transfer rate increased as both air flow rate and RPM of the rotating porous plate increased. It was found that the overall heat transfer coefficient increased with the increase in RPM of porous plate at the conditions of the same air flow rate.

  • The experimental investigation was carried out to evaluate the performance of air-to-air heat exchanger with rotating porous plates newly developed in this study. The rotating porous plates are mounted with an equal interval of 18 mm inside the heat exchanger where the hot and cold airs enter at opposite ends. When flowing in opposite directions by the separating plate installed in the center of the rotating porous plates, the airs give and receive the heat each other. The material of the porous plate is cooper and its thickness is 1.0 mm. Air flow rate is varied from 10 to 120 m3/h. From the experiment of air-to-air heat exchanger with the rotating porous plates, the heat exchange performance increased with the increase in RPM of the porous rotating discs at the conditions of the same air flow rate. The sensible heat exchange efficiency was maximum 60 to 70 percent, and enthalpy exchange efficiency 50 to 60 percent.

Design and Optimization of Solid Dispersed Osmotic Pump Tablets of Aceclofenac, A Better Approach to Treat Arthritis

  • The aim of this work was to prepare porous osmotic pump tablets for controlled delivery of Aceclofenac. Aceclofenac solid dispersion was prepared to improve the solubility by using the drug - carrier (Mannitol) ratio of 1:1. The osmotic pump tablets were prepared using the solid dispersed product of Aceclofenac. The formulation contains potassium chloride as osmotic agent, cellulose acetate as semipermeable membrane, poly ethylene glycol (PEG 4000) as pore former and sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) as solubility enhancer. The formulations were designed by the general factors such as osmotic agent and pore former. All formulations were evaluated for various physical parameters and, the in vitro release studies were conducted as per USP. The drug release kinetic studies such as zero order, first order, and Higuchi and Korsmeyer peppas were determined and compared. All the formulations gave more controlled release compared to the marketed tablet studied. Numerical optimization techniques were applied to found out the best formulation by considering the parameter of in vitro drug release kinetics and dissolution profile standards. It was concluded that the porous osmotic pump tablets (F7) composed of Aceclofenac solid dispersion/Potassium chloride/Lactose/Sodium lauryl sulphate/Magnesium Stearate (400/40/95/10/5, mg/tab) and coating composition with Cellulose acetate/ PEG 4000 (60/40 %w/w) is the most satisfactory formulation. The porous osmotic pump tablets provide prolonged, controlled, and gastrointestinal environment-independent drug release.
