p-nitrosalicylic acid의 전해환원에 의한 PAS의 합성과 Polarograph연구 (Polarographic Studies on Electrochemical Reduction of p-Nitrosalicylic Acid and the Electrochemical Synthesis of p-Aminosalicylic Acid)

  • Although a considerable amount of work has ben carried out, on the reduction of p-nitrosalicylic acid with Pb, Ni, Cu and Hg cathodes, published results do not proceeded the synthesis of p-aminosalicylic acid. In order to get the reduction potential and the mechanism of reduction, therefore, the electrode reactions occurring during "polarographic reduction" have been studied more fully. As a result, the author found that p-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) can be only produced in a HCl-ethanol solution using Sn cathode with the current density of 4.0A/$dm^{2}$, at 40-$50^{\circ}$.

EDTA 및 NTA 支指電解質중 Thallium (I) 의 Polarography 에 關한 硏究 (Study on the Polarographic Behaviors of Tl(I) in EDTA and NTA as Supporting Electrolytes)

  • The polarographic behaviors of Tl(I) was investigated in EDTA and NTA as supporting electrolytes for determination of Tl(I). A base solution containing 0.005 % gelatine, 0.1 M EDTA, and 0.05 M NTA was used. The halfwave potential of Tl(I) determined is -0.495 V v.s. S.C.E. in 0.1 M EDTA at pH 4.1 and -0.520V v.s. S.C.E. in 0.05 M NTA at pH 6.3. In this paper, the effects of gelatine concentration and pH values was investigated. The half-wave potentials of common elements was determined and compared with the half-wave potential of Tl(I).

Polarograph 에 依한 Monazite 鑛石속의 Uranium 의 定量에 關한 硏究 (Determination of Uranium in Monazite Sand by Polarographic Method)

  • A polarographic method for rapid determination of Uranium in the presence of foreign ions was proposed. The method is based on the measurement of polarogram in the sulfuric acid as supporting electrolyte. In this medium Uranyl ions give well defined reduction waves, and half-wave potentials are -0.19V vs. S.C.E. as first wave, and uncertain volt. vs. S.C.E. as second wave in $2.4 N-H_2SO_4.$ The first wave has a linear relationship between the concentration of Uranyl ion and wave height. The author also studied a method for rapid determination of Uranium in Korean monazite sand without eliminating the foreign ions. The Korean monazite sands were analyzed by this method and satisfactory result were obtained.

  • The electrochemical behavior of cadmium(Ⅱ) in tartrate solution has been studied over the pH range of 6 to 13.6 in order to explain the phenomena of the changes in limiting current depending on the pH. The polarographic limiting current showed a constant value up to pH of 7.8, after which it decreased sharply to show a minimum at pH between 11 and 12. The limiting current, then, increased again with increasing pH. The number of peaks in cyclic voltammogram was 1 to 3 depending on the pH of the solution. Two other voltammetric peaks could be observed when the main reduction peak diminished. The decrease of limiting current at 7.5$Cd(C_4H_3O_6)^-$. The increase of limiting current at strong alkaline solution, however, was due to the complex $Cd(Tart)_2(OH)_2^{4-}$.

  • Remarks on polyphenolic compounds has been arisen since past few years. the flavonoids appears to be the important groups of compounds with their capability to inhibit DNA damage, lipid peroxidation, to quench free radicals and, at least, anticarcinogenic and antiproliferative effects. On the other hand, their mechanism of action is still unexplained. Apigenin and luteolin are the most wide-spread flavones and they exhibited to be useful in chemoprevention. UV spectrometric and DC polarographic studies on these two compounds have been carried out with regard to changing pH. The most significant changes were observed at basic pH. These results could aid to elucidation of their mechanism of action as pH is one of the important factors for bioprocesses passing in living organisms.

金屬錯이온의 폴라로그래피的 파라미터에 미치는 壓力의 影響 (Effect of High Pressure on Polarographic Parameters of Metal Complex Ion)

  • 에틸렌디아민, 프로필렌디아민 및 디에틸렌트리아민의 구리(II), 카드뮴(II) 및 아연(II)착이온의 桓元에 대하여 압력에 따른 폴라로그래피적 파라미터의 依存性을 조사하였다. 水銀滴下電極, 고인수은전극 및 나선형 백금선을 각각 作業電極, 基準電極 및 補助電極으로 사용하였다. 압력이 1기압에서 1,500기압으로 증가함에 따라 금속착이온의 還元半波電位는 陰電位 쪽으로 이동하였으며, 擴散電流는 상당히 커졌다. 이러한 현상은 전해질용액의 물리적 성질 곧 密度, 粘性度, 誘電常數, 電氣傳導度 등이 압력이 증가함에 따라 커지기 때문이다. 압력을 증가시키면 log plot의 기울기 값이 커지므로 환원반응의 可逆性은 나빠지고 있다. 25$^{\circ}$C ~ 35$^{\circ}$C의 온도범위에서 측정한 확산전류의 溫度係數가 압력을 증가시켜도 2%정도이므로 高壓下에서 폴라로그래피적 환원반응은 擴散支配的이다. 또 실험압력 범위내에서 금속착이온의 확산전류와 농도 사이에는 線形關係가 성립하였다.

  • 反陽性子性 溶媒인 dimethylsulfoxide中에서 p-nitrobenzeneazoresororcinol<4n-BAR>에 대하여 직류 폴라로그래피적 거동을 조사하였다. 0.05M $NaClO_4$의 DMSO溶媒中에서 4n-BAR은 1電子 2段階의 還元過程을 거쳐 hydrazo기를 포함하는 化合物로 還元된다. 還元反應의 中間 生成物은 比較的 反陽性子性 溶媒 속에서 安定하였다. 各 段階의 還元電流는 擴散支配的이었으며 一部 反應電流도 包含되었다. 酸을 添加함에 따라서 2個의 還元波가 하나로 合致되며 [acid]/[reductant]의 몰 (M)비가 M = 2인 條件에서 加電位(-E)에 대해 $log(i_d-i)(Mi_d/2-i)/i$/의 可逆性은 1電子 2段階 還元反應이고 非可逆的이었다.

  • 반양성자성 용매인 아세토니트릴 중에서 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (이하 TAN으로 줄임)의 폴라로그래프적 성질을 조사하였다. 직류폴라로그램으로부터 환원전류의 유형과 양성자 주게 인물의 첨가에 따른 영향을 검토하였다. 그리고 환원반응에 관여한 전자수는 정전위분해법으로 구하였다. 또 일정전위전해생성물의 UV-Vis Spectrum과 IR-Spectrum으로부터 전해생성물을 확인하였다. 이상의 실험결과로부터 아세토니트릴 용매중에서 TAN은 1전자 4단계의 환원과정을 거쳐 최종적으로 아민화합물이 됨을 알았다. 또 각 환원과정은 모두 가역적이었으며, 각 단계의 환원전류는 확산지배적이었다.
