Purpose: To investigate the ability of double TMJ view by multifunctional panorama to view the bony components and the space of the temporomandibular joint. Materials and Methods: Ten dry skulls fitted with resin shims over the articular surface of the condyle were used to reproduce the temporomandibular joint space. Fine metal wires were attached to the three portions of contours of the condylar head and the articular eminence. With 10 dry skulls and 20 cases having TMJ dysfunction, double TMJ views by multifunctional panorama (Planmeca 2002 Proline CC) and transcranial views were taken, analyzed from the anatomical view point, and compared statistically in view of the widths of the posterior joint space and the condylar head. Results: In double TMJ view, the supero-anterior part of the condyle represented the lateral 1/3, the most superior part represented center portion, and the posterior part medial l/3 of the condyle. In maximum mouth opening, no other structures were superimposed with the condyle in double TMJ view. In double TMJ view, petrous bone was moderately superimposed with the superior part of the condyle and the posterior increment of angle exposure made wider the images of the articular eminence and the condyle. The tendency of reduction in the posterior joint space appeared in the side of TMJ dysfunction compared with the normal side. The posterior joint spaces in double TMJ view were statistically wider (p<0.05) than those in transcranial view. The correlation coefficient was 0.5179 between the widths of the posterior joint spaces in two radiographic views. Conclusions: Double TMJ view can be substituted for transcranial view in evaluating the TMJ dysfunction.
Dependence of magnetic and magneto-optic properties on composition of amorphous NdFe alloys has been studied to identify a promising magneto-optic recording material in the wavelength of a blue laser beam. From the view point of crystallographic state, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy and polar Kerr rotation angle, the Nd-rich region was found to be suitable for the research purpose.

Homogeneously aligned nematic liquid crystal modes are representatively the -FFS (fringe-field switching) mode using liquid crystal (-LC) with negative dielectric anisotropy, the +FFS mode and the IPS (in-plane switching) mode using +LC with positive dielectric anisotropy. In view of image quality evaluation standard of LCD, we compared characteristics of the brightness, the contrast ratio (CR) and color shift when the modes have respectively optimized phase retardation values $(d{\Delta}n)$. Consequently, in the most sensitively viewing angle of a man's physical vision, both FFS modes have advantage over the IPS mode from the brightness & the CR point of view. We are also confirmed that the +FFS mode out of them shows the smallest color shift according to all viewing directions in grey levels.

The purpose of this study is to understand what Le Corbuiser has intended on a panoramic landscape view through his modern architectural design. This paper is willing to improve that he considered both natural and local landscape scenery, when he designed architecture with drawing images. He designed various ways to see outside scenery and community culture through ribbon windows, piloti, architectural promenade, picture frame, and rooftop garden as the angle of view inside the building, 'designed landscape panorama' from his architecture. Therefore the contents of the study include the analysis of the local landscapes shown through his architecture by photograph, drawing of a real scenery, and his sketches with biology to find what he has intended. The following conclusions have three points. First, Le Corbuiser has a basic idea to bear a natural and local scenery from his architecture through five points of new architecture. Second, pilotis, ribbon windows, and roof garden with picture frame and architectural promenade are pathways of his architecture to see 'designed landscape panorama'. Third, it comes from his early architecture like Villa Savoye in 1920s to Couvent de Sainte Marie de la Tourette in 1950s, but Ronchamp church converts his idea on previous thoughts.
The effect of a continuous blowing or suction on an oscillating 2-D NACA0012 airfoil was investigated numerically for the dynamic stall control. The influence of control parameter variation was also studied in the view point of aerodynamic characteristics. The result showed that the blowing control kept a higher lift drag ratio before stall angle but the dynamic stall angle was not exceed to without control result. As the slot position was closer to leading edge, the positive control effect becomes greater. The stronger jet and the smaller jet angel made more favorable roles on the control performance. In the cases of the suction, the overall control features were similar to those of the blowing, but dynamic stall angle was increased, i.e. suction was more effective to control dynamic stall. It was also founded that the suction control was showed better control effect as the slot position moves to trail edge within thirty percentage of chord length. In the simulation for the jet strength and the jet angle control, the same tendencies were observed to those of blowing cases.
This study examines the influence of geometry on the internal flow and macroscopic behavior of the spray in Diesel nozzles. For this investigation, two bi-orifice nozzles were employed: one cylindrical and one conical. The first step is to use a non-destructive characterization method which is based on the production of silicone moulds so that the precise internal geometry of the two nozzles can be measured. At this stage the nozzles have been characterized dimensionally and therefore the internal flow can be studied using CFD calculations. The results gained from this experiment make it possible also to ascertain the critical cavitation conditions. Once the critical cavitation conditions have been identified, the macroscopic parameters of the spray can be studied in both cavitating and non-cavitating conditions using a test rig pressurized with nitrogen and with the help of a image acquisition system and image processing software. Consequently, research can be carried out to determine the influence that cavitation has on macroscopic spray behavior. From the point of view of the spray macroscopic behavior, the main conclusion of the paper is that cavitation leads to an increment of the spray cone angle. On the other hand, from the point of view of the internal flow, the hole outlet velocity increases when cavitation appears. This phenomenon can be explained by the reduction in the cross section of the liquid phase in the outlet section of the hole.

The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics of prospect from the mountain pass by investigating relations between the type of mountain pass and object overlooked from the mountain pass. For the purpose, this researcher selected and surveyed 44 mountain passes located in Busan, except in Gangseo-gu lesion. According to their locational characteristics, the mountain passes were classified into three types, 'sanmok'(formed between mountain peaks), 'sanheori'(formed on the mountainside) and 'sanmaru'(formed at the tip of the mountain peak). Out of the total 44 mountain passes, 22 were 'sanheori' in type. In the same type, mountain passes mostly had a prospect providing the overlap of downtown and mountain areas. The researcher examined the sight distance and dip of object to be viewed from the mountain pass, determining relations between the object and the mountain pass. When overlooked from mountain passes in Busan, most objects are distributed between $-3^{\circ}\;and\;-1^{\circ}$ in an angle of depression within the sight distance from 0.5km to 14km. Mountain passes are valuable as a post that is very important in prospecting scenes. But they are now in crisis. They are being gradually disappeared because of development projects. Finally, the researcher hopes that the study makes recognizing the value of the mountain pass and contributes to preserve the mountain pass as an important post of view point when its region is later developed.
This study developed evaluation indicators for the comfort experience of virtual reality (VR) headsets by classifying, defining, and weighting cybersickness-causing factors using the Delphi research method and analytic hierarchical process (AHP) approach. Four surveys were conducted with 20 experts on VR motion sickness. The expert surveys involved the 1) classification and definition of cybersickness-causing dimensions, classification of sub-factors for each dimension, and selection of evaluation indicators, 2) self-reassessment of the results of each step, 3) validity revaluation, and 4) final weighting calculation. Based on the surveys, the evaluation indicators for the comfort experience of VR headsets were classified into eight sub-factors: field of view (FoV)-device FoV, latency-device latency, framerate-device framerate, V-sync-device V-sync, rig-camera angle view, rig-no-parallax point, resolution-device resolution, and resolution-pixels per inch (PPI). A total of six dimensions and eight sub-factors were identified; sub-factor-based evaluation indicators were also developed.

In this paper, we propose an improved single view metrology (SVM) algorithm to accurately measure the height of objects. In order to accurately measure the size of objects, vanishing points have to be correctly estimated. There are two methods to estimate vanishing points. First, the user has to choose some horizontal and vertical lines in real world. Then, the user finds the cross points of the lines. Second, the user can obtain the vanishing points by using software algorithm such as [6-9]. In the former method, the user has to choose the lines manually to obtain accurate vanishing points. On the other hand, the latter method uses software algorithm to automatically obtain vanishing points. In this paper, we apply image resizing and edge sharpening as a pre-processing to the algorithm in order to improve performance. The estimated vanishing points algorithm create four vanishing point candidates: two points are horizontal candidates and the other two points are vertical candidates. However, a common image has two horizontal vanishing points and one vertical vanishing point. Thus, we eliminate a vertical vanishing point candidate by analyzing the histogram of angle distribution of vanishing point candidates. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional methods, [6] and [7]. In addition, the algorithm obtains similar performance with manual method with less than 5% of the measurement error.

In this study, a parametric investigation is performed using CFD for towing stability and loads according to the forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO. The forward slope angle is considered in a range of 30-60° and the aft slope is examined in a range of 20-50°. As a result of a comparative study based on CFD towing simulations, it is found that the yaw motion is damped out and stabilized when the aft slope is more than 40° regardless of the forward slope angle. The vortex contours in the y-axis plane near the aft slope are analyzed and it is observed that the vortex developed at the bottom knuckle is bent upward along the aft slope when the aft slope is less than 40°, and completely fallen from the bottom knuckle when the aft slope is more than 40°. Based on the results, a guide to forward and aft slope angles of a barge-shaped FPSO is presented from a practical point of view considering towing stability as well as towing load.
