  • The newly developed system for measuring a contact angle on a sheet was examined to investigate reliability and reproducibility of the measured results. It was clearly confirmed that the automatic contact angle measuring system was much faster and more reliable way to determine the water resistance of a sheet, comparing with Cobb and Stockigt sizing tests. Cobb test showed less significant results with stringently sized sheets, and Stockigt test exhibited the big deviations by discrepancy of the recognition point of coloring according to different testers in spite of explicit test results. On the other hand, the contact angles measured by the automatic system were reproduced with less deviations, irrespectively of different testers. It was interesting to note that the contact angle might be able to used to predict Cobb and Stockigt sizing degree, based upon the high correlation coefficients of 0.95 and 0.97. Hereafter the automatic system will be upgraded to predict Cobb and stockigt sizing degree through the measurement of contact angle.

  • This paper described about the ultra-precision profile measurement of aspheric surfaces using contact probing technique. A contact probe has been designed as a sensing device to obtain measuring resolutions in nanometer regime utilizing a leaf spring mechanism and a capacitive-type sensor. The contact probe is attached on the z-axis during measurement while aspheric objects are supported on the single point diamond turning machine(SPDTM). The machine xz-axis motions are monitored by a set of two orthogonal plane mirror type laser interferometers. Experimental results show that the contact probing technique developed of On-machine Measurement System in this investigation is capable of providing a repeatability of 20 nanometers with a $\pm$20 uncertainty of 300 nanometers.

한국인 구치열에서 치간유두 존재와 치아접촉점과 치간골 거리와의 관계 (Relationship between Interdental Papilla Existence & Distance from Interdental Alveolar Crest to Contact Point in the Posterior Dentition of Korean adults)

  • The anatomic structure around interproximal area plays an important role not only in the natural teeth, but also in the implant. The loss of papilla can lead to cosmetic deformity, phonetic problem, food impaction on the anterior dentition, and masticatory problem, food impaction and proximal caries on the posterior dentition. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between interdental papilla existence and distance from contact point to alveolar crest in Korean posteior dentition. 45 Korean adult patients(31males, 14 females) participated in this study. Measurements were carreid out total 126 interproximal areas, 18 first premolar, 31 second premolar, 40 first molar, and 37 second molar areas. Papilla index was recorded as suggested by Jemt. Distance between contact point and alveolar crest measrued by Florida $probe^{R}$, after flap elevation. Each distance was measured 10 times by every 0.1mm unit. The results showed that the mean Papilla index 1.37 and mean distance between contact point and alveolar crest was 7.44mm. The correlation between the Papilla index and distance was high negative correlation(Pearson correlation=-0.47), and it was statistically significant(P=0.000) When the distance between contact point and alveolar crest was 5mm, the loss of papilla was appeared almost in half cases. When the distance was 6mm, the papilla loss was present 95%, when 7mm, the papilla loss was 100%.

레일의 상하방향 불규칙성에 의한 차륜과 레일의 동 접촉력 (Dynamic Wheel/Rail Contact Force due to Rail Irregularities)

  • An analytical method has been developed to estimate the dynamic contact force between wheel and rail when trains are running on rail with vertical irregularities. In this method, the effect of Hertzian deformation at the contact point is considered as a linearized spring and the wheel is considered as an sprung mass. The rail is modelled as a discretely-supported Timoshenko beam, and the periodic structure theory was adopted to obtain the driving-point receptance. As an example, the dynamic contact force for a typical wheel/rail system was analysed by the method developed in this research and the dynamic characteristics of the system was also discussed. It is revealed that discretely-supported Timoshenko beam model should be used instead of the previously used continuously-supported model or discretelysupported Euler beam model, for the frequency range above several hundred hertz.

후면 passivation 박막으로 Rapid Thermal Oxide를 적용한 Local Back Contact Cell 제작에 관한 연구

  • 최근 결정질 실리콘 태양전지 분야에서는 태양전지의 Voc와 Isc의 증가를 통한 효율 향상을 목적으로 후면 passivation 박막에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. Local-Back Contact Cell은 최적화된 후면 passivation 박막을 이용한 태양전지 제조방법이다. 본 연구에서는 고효율의 LBC 태양전지 개발을 위해 Rapid Thermal Oxide(RTO)를 이용한 후면 passivation 박막에 screen printing을 이용한 point contact 구조의 LBC 태양전지를 제작하고 그 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 RTO 박막은 O2와 N2, 2L/min의 조건에서 $850^{\circ}C$에서 3분 동안 열처리하여 성장시켰다. 이렇게 성장된 박막은 3nm의 두께로 형성되어 passivation 효과를 나타내었으며, carrier lifetime 측정 결과 37.8us의 값을 나타냈다. 전면 ARC형성을 위해 RTO 박막 위에 PECVD를 이용하여 SiNx passivation 처리를 하였고, 그 결과 carrier lifetime은 49.1us까지 향상하였다. 후면의 전극 형성을 위해 screen printing 방법으로 Al point contact을 형성하여 local 한 BSF를 형성 시켰으며, 이후 후면 전극 연결을 위한 방법으로 300nm의 두께로 full Al evaporation 공정을 진행 하였다. 결과적으로 RTO 후면 passivation 박막에 Al point contact 형성을 통해 제작된 태양전지는, Suns-Voc 579mV, FF 82.3%, 16.7%의 효율을 달성하였다.

  • The new principle to measure a sizing degree by a contact angle was developed using an automatic determination of the 3-end point coordinates of the water droplet on a sheet, which could diminish the operator's bias during measurement. A constant amount of water was first placed on a sample sheet by a water dispenser, and then an image of the liquid droplet was captured by a digital camera and then transmitted to a computer. The program measuring for contact angle extracted a liquid contour by Gaussian function combined with a 8-direction chain code. The Euclidean equation was applied to the binary image of the liquid contour in order to measure the diameter of the contour. Finally, the contact angle of the liquid was calculated by using the diameter and the top coordinates. In addition, a surface free energy of the sample sheet and an elapsed time taken up to the complete absorption into the sheet were simultaneously measured with the contact angle.

Extraction of bridge information based on the double-pass double-vehicle technique

  • To identify the bridge information from the response of test vehicles passing on it (also known as the indirect approach) has aroused the interest of many researchers thanks to its economy, easy implementation and less disruption to traffic. The surface roughness of bridge remains an obstacle for such method as it contaminates the vehicle response severely and thereby renders many vehicle-response-based bridge identification methods ineffective. This study aims to eliminate such effect with the responses of two different test vehicles. The proposed method can estimate the surface profile of a bridge based on the acceleration data of the vehicles running on the bridge successively, and obtain the normalized contact point response, which proves to be relatively immune to surface roughness. The frequencies and mode shapes of bridge can be further extracted from the normalized contact point acceleration with spectral analysis and Hilbert transform. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified numerically with a three-span continuous bridge. The influence of measurement noise is also examined.

ROLL CENTER ANALYSIS OF A HALF-CAR MODEL USING POLE FOR SMALL DISPLACEMENT

  • In this paper, roll behavior of three planar half car models are compared. The first model is a simple model whose contact point between a wheel and the ground is assumed to be fixed with a revolute joint. The second model is a modified model of the fIrst model, whose wheel tread width can vary. In this model, the instant center of a wheel with respect to the ground, which is crucial to find the roll center, is assumed to be at the contact point of a wheel and the ground. The last model uses the pole of a wheel with respect to the ground for small displacement as the instant center of a wheel with respect to the ground. Loci of the center of gravity point, the fixed and the moving centrodes which are traces of roll center position in the ground and the body frame respectively, wheel contact points, and instant centers of a wheel with respect to the ground are calculated.

후면전극형 태양전지의 열해석에 관한 연구 (Thermal Analysis for High Efficiency of Point Contact Solar Cell)

  • This paper was carried about thermal analysis for high efficiency point contact solar cell. Therefore, we carried about 2-D device and process simulator according to design and process parameters. As a result of simulations, power transfer efficiency have decreased more increasing temperature. Especially, power transfer efficiency of room temperature have been showed 25%. The other hand, power transfer efficiency of 350 K kalvin temperature have been showed 20%. Therefore, we will considered design with thermal dissipation of device.

  • A clutch is a very important component when engine starts and gear shifting is needed. The clutch the most commonly used is the dry clutch. This type of clutch has pads, and they are worn after disengagement of clutch little by little. The characteristics of the clutch changes as these pads wear, so wear needs to be measured, and the clutch should be controlled for proper operation. In this study, the clutch contact point estimation algorithm has been developed. From this algorithm, clutch force map changes depending on wear, and the clutch operates properly. We also see the shifting transient of a vehicle for drivability with throttle valve position control and synchronizer movement.
