The purpose of this study is to analyze the conspicuous consumption propensity of middle schoolers and to develop effective consumer education programs which help improve consumer socialization. Empirical data were collected by using a questionnaire for 500 middle schoolers who reside in the city of Daegu. The results of this study are as follows: First, significant differences in materialistic propensity can be found. It results from the difference in parents' educational background, amount of monthly pocket money, influence of mass media and friends, and the consumer education hosted by schools. Second, significant differences in the conspicuous consumption propensity can be found. It comes from the difference in materialistic propensity and control of purchasing behaviors. Third, the variables affecting the middle schoolers' propensity of conspicuous consumption include influence of mass media and friends, control of purchasing behaviors, influence of materialistic propensity, amount of monthly pocket money, and mother's educational background. Lastly, this study helps develop consumer education programs for the teenagers. The program should use statistics data, Internet, presentation materials, putting higher priority on experience activities, survey, analysis, discussion, and presentation rather than theoretical education.
This research was intended to furnish basic data which can be helpful to maintain and improve the skin health and to activate aromatherapy by analyzing the knowledge, attitude and behavior on the aromatherapy skin care of college students. As their grade got higher, students of beauty class showed the level of knowledge on aromatherapy higher than those of non-beauty class, and that of girl students was higher than that of boy students and as the living standard of students got higher, and pocket money of a month of them got more, the level of knowledge on aromatherapy of them was high, and as the interest in appearance and satisfaction on appearance of them got higher, the level of knowledge on aromatherapy of them was high. In common characteristics, as the living standard of them got higher, and pocket money of a month of them got more, the level of attitude on aromatherapy of them was high. As the interest in appearance of them got higher, the level of attitude on aromatherapy on the interest in appearance of them was high. In the characteristics related with the skin, as the skin health condition of students got healthier, the level of attitude on aromatherapy of them was high, and it was high in the students who had much agony on the skin color.
The purpose of this study is to take precautions against smoking behavior and delinquent by investigating the relation between smoking behavior and delinquent, analysing variables influence smoking behavior and delinquent. For the data set 1522 boys' high school students living in Pusan were chosen. The data were analyzed with the SPSS PC+ statistical package using Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The main results are as follows: First, the rate of smoking is 39.4% among 1522 boys' high school students. First grade is 22.0%. Second grade is 44.5%. Third grade is 53.4%. Second, Delinquent experiences are in the order of going to game room(92.7%), drinking(89.4%), going to the prohibited movies(74.2%), thief(39.8%), going to discotheque(32.8%), kiss(29.8%). Third, smoking behavior and delinquent have positive correlationship. Forth, among the independent variables, grade, scholastic attainments, pocket-money, relegion, intimate friend's smoking, number of smoking friend, number of smoking family, family's thought on smoking have influence on smoking behavior. Fifth, among the sociopopulational variables, pocket money, scholastic attainments, club have influence on delinquent experience. Among enviornmental variables, intimate friend's smoking, number of smoking friend, girl friend, girl friend's smoking have influence on delinquent experience. Number of smoking family, parents' smoking, sibling's smoking, family's thought on smoking have partially influence on delinquent experience.
This study was to investigate difference across socioeconomic groups in factors of purchase intention of apparel in internet shopping mall and in satisfaction were internet shopping mall. A questionnaire was administered to collage students majoring in fashion design during May of 2001. Data was analyzed by using Factor analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, ${\chi}^2$-test. Factor analysis yield three factors of purchase intention, purchase stimulus, convenience and economic and rationality. Significant differences were found across levels of monthly pocket money and types of payment for purchase apparel of internet shopping mall purchase stimulus (factor 1). In convenience and economics (factor 2), differences were also significant across levels of purchase frequency, product price and payment ways of internet sopping mall. Significant difference was identified across sex type and levels of product price purchased in internet shopping mall (factor 3). Regarding internet shopping mall satisfaction, differences were significant across levels monthly pocket money and apparel purchase frequency of in internet shopping mall.
This study intended to identify the effects of consumer ethnocentrism and fashion leadership on purchasing attitude toward luxury brands. This study also identified differences in consumer ethnocentrism and fashion leadership according to demographic characteristics and the relationship between ethnocentrism and fashion leadership. The data used in this study were gathered through surveying university students living in Seoul using convenient sampling method, and 325 questionnaires were used in t test, F test, and regression analysis. The results showed significant differences in consumer ethnocentrism according to age, clothing expenditure, monthly pocket money and in fashion leadership according to age, major, clothing expenditure, monthly pocket money, and monthly household income. There was no significant relationship between consumer ethnocentrism and fashion leadership. Consumer ethnocentrism negatively influenced the purchasing attitude whereas fashion leadership influenced positively. The results of this study provide insights into young consumers' increasing demands toward luxury brands and suggest some promotional tools that might prove effective.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide a counseling program basis for the department satisfaction in dental hygiene department according to the subjective factors of happiness in dental hygiene students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 197 dental hygiene students in Gwangju from April 10 to 30, 2017. From collected data, general characteristics, happiness index and department satisfaction of the subjects were investigated. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The happiness index according to general characteristics showed a significant difference in grade, character, friendship, academic achievement, pocket money satisfaction and health condition. The department satisfaction according to general characteristics showed a significant difference in grade, age, character, motivation for further study, friendship, academic achievement, pocket money satisfaction, health condition, sleep time. Happiness index showed a significant correlation with department satisfaction. The happiness index was higher as the department satisfaction was higher. Factors that affect happiness index are friendship, health condition, relationship satisfaction, perception satisfaction, school satisfaction, curriculum satisfaction and department satisfaction. Conclusions: The happiness index was higher as the department satisfaction was higher. Therefore, it is necessary to develop various programs to increase the happiness.
The purposes of this study were to identify the effects of body satisfaction and self-esteem on the make-up degree of middle and high school girls. Self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection from 432 students. The results were as follows: 1) Most of middle and high school girls were in height of 161-165cm and weight of 56-60kg. Satisfaction level of middle and high school girls with their eyes was the highest and that of weight was the lowest. They showed strong intention to modify their appearances and were dissatisfied with their body. 2) Middle and high school girls' satisfaction level of home life self-esteem was the highest, but that of school life was the lowest. 3) Middle and high school girls used cosmetics to protect their skins and paid much attention to their skins. They collected cosmetics informations from their friends or family members, and began to use point make-ups from their middle school years. They purchased cosmetics at cosmetic specialty store or internet shopping mall frequently. Most of them spent less than 10,000 won monthly for cosmetics, and used lip gloss and ultraviolet rays interceptors over their face with basic cosmetics. 4) Expenditures for cosmetics, self-esteem on their appearances, and pocket money affected on make-up degree. Middle and high school girls who spent more money for cosmetics and more pocket money with higher self~esteem on their appearances showed higher degree of make-ups.
Objectives : To determine the prevalence, pattern. and out-of-pocket expenditure of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) utilization in Korean adult population. Methods : We conducted a representative telephone survey of 2,042 persons aged 18 or older. Data about any health problem, details of their use of medical doctors(MDs) offices/hospitals/pharmacies services and CAM during the preceding 12 months were collected with structured questionnaire. Results : The utilization rate of CAM among Korean adults was 29% in one year. A total of 231 kinds of CAM was identified from this survey. Annual out-of-pocket expenditure associated with CAM use in 1998 amounted to ${\xi}{\S}1.88$ billion and was comparable to 40.8% of out-of-pocket expenditure paid for MDs offices/hospitals/pharmacies services. Among those(N=424) who paid for both MDs offices/hospitals/pharmacies services an d CAM, 35.8% paid more for CAM. CAM gave more satisfaction than western medicine to those who had experience of both types of therapy. About half of CAM users were willing to recommend CAM to others. Disclosure rate to physician among CAM users was not high(40.6%). Conclusion : CAM became a popular source of health care in Korea, Korean spent a substantial amount of out-of-pocket money on CAM without any public control. Because CAM use is likely to be increased rapidly through lay referral system, health policy makers and health professionals should pay more attention to CAM for making appropriate utilization of CAM.
In the Health Insurance System of South Korea, patients must pay high out-of-pocket expenditures for the medical service by uninsured medical benefits. So, the government implemented a policy to relieve the burdens of patients by lowering the uninsured selective-medical treatment costs in August, 2014. This study investigate the policy effects of selective-medical treatment(SMT) on the medical service's usage and cost with severe lung cancer patients. The patients are selected in one university hospital(with 1,000 beds), between one year before and after policy implementation. The study find that the usages of outpatient(visit number) and inpatient (length of stay) are not changed by statistically significant. It means that there are no effect in medical service behavior between before and after the policy. In medical expenses, outpatients decreased in their out-of-pocket payments by policy, but total medical expenses and insured medical benefits is not changed, because of the increased another medical insurance fees. For inpatient, although the SMT costs are statistically significant decrease, the total out-of-pocket payments and insured medical expenses are not changed statistically significant. Those findings show that the political decision making about SMT made lowing the selective-medical expenses, but total insured cost and patient's out-of pocket money were not changed by the new increased medical insurance fees. It means that the policy about SMT gave no particular benefit for patients. So, it need another benefit plans to lower the medical expenses of severe lung cancer patients with a high medical service usage and much total medical expense.
We investigated each 50 students in the primary school its 1st year student(boys & girls) on the conditions of oral hygiene between urban and rural children centering around the dental caries. The purpose of this study is to promote national oral health and to offer the basic data on the oral health level of community. We got conclusion as follows : 1. Sex : The prevalence rate of dental caries between the rural and urban children showed high to the urban children. 2. Education Level of Parents : When the educational background of father is high, the prevalence rate of dental caries showed high(P<0.01). The educational background of mother has not influenced on the prevalence rate. 3. Economic Level of Home : When the economic level of home is high, the prevalence rate of dental caries is high(P<0.01). 4. Intake Frequency of Eating Between Meals : The average intake frequency of eating between meals a day of urban children was $2.3{\pm}0.76times$, the average intake frequency of eating between males a day of urban children was $2.79{\pm}0.82times$(P<0.01). 5. Brushing Frequency : The average brushing a day of rural children was $2.48{\pm}0.82times$, urban children was $2.34{\pm}0.71times$, and when the brushing frequency is high, the prevalence rate of dental caries showed low(P<0.01). 6. Brushing Time : The rural children and urban children had no difference, but brushing time had influenced on the prevalence rate(P<0.01). 7. Kinds of Drinking Water: The kinds of drinking water had not influenced on the prevalence rate of dental caries. 8. Amount of Pocket Money : The urban children is the more amount of pocket money than the rural, when the amount of pocket money is lots, the prevalence rate of dental caries showed high(P<0.01). 9. Average Intake Frequency a day for the caries food of eating between meals of rural children was 2.91 times and urban children was 3.47 times. The average intake frequency a day for the caries food of eating between meals had influenced on the prevalence rate dental caries. In the point of view for the oral health, the urban children is bad than the rural children in the actual conditions of intake. The education of oral health for parents has demanded, the necessity of oral control for the children of the improvement effectively as the methods to maintain the oral health level.
