터널에서 차량의 운행에 의해 생성되는 비정상 유동에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on vehicle-induced unsteady flow in tunnel)

  • 도로터널내 열유동장의 형성은 여러 가지 요인의 영향을 받는다. 즉 차량의 이동에 의한 피스톤 효과, 환기설비의 환기력, 자연풍 영향, 화재시 부력 등에 따라 도로터널내 기류가 형성된다. 차량의 이동에 의한 피스톤 효과는 도로터널내 기류생성의 일차적인 요인이며, 화재시 연기의 초기 거동에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로터널내 차량의 이동에 의해 생성되는 비정상 기류를 분석하기 위해서 단순한 형태의 터널과 차량에 대한 축소모형실험장치를 제작하고 실험을 수행하였다. 기본형, 전두부 사변형, 후두부 계단형의 3가지 형태로 차량의 형상을 변화시켜가며 차량운행에 따라 형성되는 터널내 압력과 기류속도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 터털내 생성되는 압력과 속도의 크기는 "기본형>후두부 계단형>전두부 사변형"의 순서로 증가하였다. 실험결과는 향후 3차원 수치해석 결과와의 비교, 검토를 통해서 수치해석 기술의 보완 및 신뢰성 확보를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

종류식 배연 터널 화재시 배연속도가 연소율에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Effect of Ventilation Velocity on the Burning Rate in Longitudinal Ventilation Tunnel Fires)

  • In this study, the 1/20 reduced-scale experiment using Froude scaling were conducted to investigate the effect of longitudinal ventilation velocity on the burning rate in tunnel fires. The methanol pool fires with heat release rate ranging from 2.02 kW to 6.15 kW and the n-heptane pool fires with heat release rate ranging from 2.23 kW to 15.6 kW were used. The burning rate of fuel was obtained by measuring the fuel mass at the load cell. The temperature distributions were observed by K-type thermocouples in order to investigate smoke movement. The ventilation velocity in the tested tunnel was controlled by inverter of the wind tunnel. In methanol pool fire, the increase in ventilation velocity reduces the burning rate. On the contrary in n-heptane pool fire, the increase in ventilation velocity induces large burning rate. The reason for above conflicting phenomena lies on the difference of burning rate. In methanol pool fire, the cooling effect outweighs the supply effect of oxygen to fire plume, and in n-heptane pool vice versa.

노즐 특성 변화에 따른 미분무수와 화염과의 상호작용에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on Interaction between Fire Flame and Water Mist according to the Variation of Nozzle Performance)

  • In the present study, the numerical investigation on the effects of water-mist characteristics has been carried out for the fire suppression mechanism. The FDS are used to simulate the interaction of fire plume and water mists, and program describes the fire-driven flows using LES turbulence model, the mixture fraction combustion model, the finite volume method of radiation transport for a non-scattering gray gas, and conjugate heat transfer between wall and gas flow. The numerical model is consisted of a rectangular enclosure of $L{\times}W{\times}H=1.5{\times}1.5{\times}2.0m$ and a water mist nozzle that be installed 1.8m from fire pool. In the study, the parameters of nozzle for simulation are the droplet size and the spray velocity. Finally, the droplet size influences to fire flume on fire suppression than spray velocity because of the effect of terminal velocity, and the optimal condition for fire suppression is that the droplet size and the spray velocity are $100{\mu}m$ and 20m/s, respectively.

가로흐름 수역에 방류되는 부력젵의 귀환에 의한 연안오염 (Effect of Attachment of Buoyant Jet to Shoreline Pollution in a Confined Crossflow)

  • 흐름수역으로 방류되는 측면부력젵이 연안으로 귀환하는 현상과 희석경향에 대해 실험을 통하여 조사하였다. 실험에서 저흐름의 가로흐름 수역에 warm-water를 등수심으로 측면방류하여 횡방향으로 퍼짐과 수면으로 상승하는 열-plume이 발생하는 부력젵(buoyant jet)이 귀환현상을 얻었다. 실험에서 발생하는 귀환현상과 오염정체지역인 순환영역의 기하학적 구조 및 희석경향을 Froude수(F), 밀도 Froude수(F$_{o}$ ), 부력 특성길이(l$_{b}$)를 이용하여 멱법칙(Power law)으로 표현하였다. 보험결과 귀환현상은 R(U$_{o}$ /U$_{a}$ )<4, F/F$_{o}$ >0.22 일 때 발생하며, 희석은 x/l$_{b}$에 따라 변화하고 순환영역은 속도비(R)에 따라 변화함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Numerical investigation was conducted to study the effects of after-body configurations and nozzle lip on the PIFS(Plume Induced Flow Separation) and eat flux to the base face. Two dimensional and axi-symmetric non-equilibrium Navier-Stoke's solver with $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model was used to solve the launching vehicle type configuration with propulsive jet. The experimental result of Robert J. McGhee was compared with our computational results for code validation. Three types of the after-body configurations (Straight, Boat-tail, Flare type) were simulated for this study. And the nozzle lip effect was studies using the three types of base configurations same simulation conditions. As a result of numerical investigations, higher pressure ratio condition and boat-tail after-body configuration caused severe PIFS phenomenon but the flare type after-body configuration and low pressure ratio suppressed PIFS. Flare type after-body configuration and low pressure ratio case reduced heat flux to base face. The nozzle lip dispersed the heat flux widely along the base face and the nozzle lip.

Behavior of Currents and Suspended Sediments around a Silt Screen

  • The behavior of Suspended Sediment Concentrations (SSC) around a silt screen in a microtidal coastal area was hydrodynamically measured. The current speed at the mid-layer about 30m downstream of the screen reduces to about half that at the same distance upstream. It was caused by the contraction of the vertical section due to the screen. Even during a relatively weak storm period the SSC increases to that of the value caused by dredging. Section-averaged SSC at the downstream of the screen is higher by about 60% than that at the upstream, suggesting that the silt screen plays an adverse effect rather than a constructive role in the reduction of SSC generated by dredging.

금속 마이크로입자 및 압밀 시편의 펄스레이저 어블레이션에 의한 나노입자 합성 (Nanoparticle Synthesis by Pulsed Laser Ablation of Metal Microparticle and Consolidated Sample)

  • This paper describes the process of nanoparticle synthesis by laser ablation of microparticles and consolidated sample. We have generated nanoparticles by high-power pulsed laser ablation of AI, Cu and Ag microparticles using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (wavelength 355nm, FWHM 6ns, fluence $0.8{\sim}2.0J/cm^2$). Microparticles of mean diameter $18{\sim}80{\mu}m$ are ablated in the ambient air. The generated nanoparticles are collected on a glass substrate and the size distribution and morphology are examined using a scanning electron microscope and a transmission electron microscope. The effect of laser fluence, collector position and compacting pressure on the distribution of particle size is investigated. To better understand the process of laser ablation of microparticle(LAM), we investigated the Nd: YAG laser-induced breakdown of Cu microparticle using time-resolved optical shadow images. Nanosecond time-resolved images of the ablation process are also obtained by laser flash shadowgraphy. Based on the experimental results, discussions are made on the dynamics of ablation plume.

음원 분포선 위치가 발사체 이륙 음향하중에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Source Line Location on Lift-off Acoustic Loads of a Launch Vehicle)

  • Intense acoustic load is generated when a launch vehicle lifts off, causing the damaging vibrations at the launch vehicle or satellite within the fairing. This paper is concerned with the prediction of lift-off acoustic loads for a launch vehicle. As a test example, the lift-off acoustic load on the Korean launch vehicle, NARO, is predicted by the existing calculation tool, the modified Eldred's second method. Although the acoustic sources, assumed as point sources, are to be located along the center line of the exhaust plume when using the Eldred's prediction method, the exact location of the deflected center line of exhaust gas flow is not usually known. To search for the most appropriate source positions, six models of source line distribution are suggested and the acoustic load prediction results from these models are compared with the actual measurements. It is found that the predicted sound pressure spectrum of the Naro is the most similar to the measured data when the centerline of the turbulent kinetic energy contour is used as the source line.

춘천지역 도시열섬의 특성과 대기질에 미치는 영향 (Aspects of Urban Heat Island and Its's Effect on Air Pollution Concentration in Chunchon Area)

  • An observational study of urban heat island was carried out using field data obatined during 6 days in May and August 1992 in Chunchon(population size 180.000). Air temperature was measured at 64 points along two sampling ruoutes by themisters attached to cars. Both routes cover urban and rural area and across the cneter of urban area. Continuous observation of air sonde was perfomed to clarify heights of nocturnal boundary layer(NBL) at the center of urban area. Surface meteorological observations were performed at both urban and rural sites. This study showed that heat island phenomena was obviously observed at the urbanized area during the night time with low wind speed. The average NBL heights exteded to about 10 meters, but varied with meteorological conditions. After sunset, the air temperature decreased with time at both sites and cooling rate at the urban site was greater than the rural site. The maximum heat island intensity was 7.5$^{\circ}$C at 21 LST, May 4. Usingthe two meteorological data sets obtained from urban and rural sites, the air pollutant concentration was calculated by Gaussian plume model which can obtain not only horizontal distribution of concentration but also vertical distribution. The result indicated that the concentration resulted from urban meteorological data set was lower than that from rural meteorological data set. It was also calculated that the air pollutant extended to higher level in urban meteorological data set than that in rural meteorological data set.
