A novel computational integral imaging technique with enhanced depth sensitivity is proposed. For each lateral position at a given depth plane, the dissimilarity between corresponding pixels of the elemental images is measured and used as a suppressing factor for that position. The intensity values are aggregated to determine the correct depth plane of each plane object. The experimental and simulation results show that the reconstructed depth image on the incorrect depth plane is effectively suppressed, and that the depth image on the correct depth plane is reconstructed clearly without any noise. The correct depth plane is also exactly determined.
A volume integral equation method (VIEM) is used to calculate the plane elastostatic field in an isotropic elastic half-plane containing multiple isotropic or anisotropic inclusions subject to remote loading. A detailed analysis of stress field at the interface between the matrix and the central inclusion in the first column of square packing is carried out for different values of the distance between the center of the central inclusion in the first column of square packing of inclusions and the traction-free surface boundary in an isotropic elastic half-plane containing multiple isotropic or anisotropic inclusions. The method is shown to be very accurate and effective for investigating the local stresses in an isotropic elastic half-plane containing multiple isotropic or anisotropic inclusions.

In excavating tunnels, shield tunneling machines having many cutters on their cutter planes are used. Not many observation data being available in the detection system, optimal observation policy is very important. From this viewpoint, we previously considered the optimal location of acoustic sensors on the cutter plane and also the optimal observation policy for the case where three receiving transducers were used, and showed that the optimal sensor location was given as arbitrary equally-spaced points on the cutter plane circle, and that the optimal rotating angles were also found to be arbitrary. In application, however, it is often difficult to locate sensors at arbitrary positions or to use three sensors from the viewpoints of machine structure and cost. This paper considers the optimal observation policy for detecting anomlous plane objects for the case where two receiving transducers are used and the case where three receiving transducers are located only on a diameter of the cutter plane.
This paper proposes a method to extract accurate plane of an object in unstructured environment for a humanoid robot by using a laser scanner. By panning and tilting 2D laser scanner installed on the head of a humanoid robot, 3D depth map of unstructured environment is generated. After generating the 3D depth map around a robot, the proposed plane extraction method is applied to the 3D depth map. By using the hierarchical clustering method, points on the same plane are extracted from the point cloud in the 3D depth map. After segmenting the plane from the point cloud, dimensions of the planes are calculated. The accuracy of the extracted plane is evaluated with experimental results, which show the effectiveness of the proposed method to extract planes around a humanoid robot in unstructured environment.
This presentation examines the characteristics of torsional vibration in axisymmetric out-of-plane vibrations of an annular Mindin plate. The out-of-plane vibration of circular or annular plates have been investigated since a long years ago by many researchers. When the classical Kirchhoff plate theory neglecting the effect of transverse shear deformation is applied to a thick plate, its out-of-plane natural frequencies are much different from reality. And so, since Minlin presented a plate theory considering the effect of rotary inertia and transverse shear deformation, many researches for the out-of-plane natural vibration of circular or annular Mindin plates have been performed. But almost all researchers missed the torsional vibration due to transverse shear deformation in axisymmetric out-of-plane vibrations of the circular or annular Mindin plate. Therefore, in this presentation, we verify the existence of torsional vibration of an annular plate and present the natural frequencies of an annular plate with free outer boundary surface.
The objective of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of wave transmission through various junctions in coupled beams. The in-plane vibration as veil as the out-of-plane vibration are generated due to the wave conversion at the junctions in the coupled beams. The out-of-plane vibration is associated with propagation of out-of-plane waves (flexural waves). The in-plane vibration is associated with propagation of in-plane waves (longitudinal and torsional waves). In order to effectively reduce vibration and structure-borne noise, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of wave conversion at various junctions in the coupled structures. The numerical results in this paper have showed the characteristics of wave transmission through various junctions in coupled beams. Those could be helpful to designer to develop the idea to reduce vibration and structure-borne noise.
In this paper, we deal with EMI Analysis on Microstrip with Defected Ground plane. Specially, we investigate reflection, transmission, crosstalk, radiated emission on Microstrip with Defected Ground plane structure. And investigates undesired effects on various defected ground plane such as ground with split, slot, short end and open end gap. To analyze reflection, transmission and crosstalk of microstrip with defected ground plane, we used concept of the microstrip to slot line transition model. Besides, investigate radiated emission using FDTD Commercial tools such as CST MW
Plane strain punch stretching test(PSST) was performed for various automotive steel sheets. To clarify the effect of tensile properties on plane strain stretchability, the limiting punch height(LPH) values were obtained in plane strain punch stretching test and related to the tensile properties of the materials. The results show that the total elongation El and work hardening exponent n compared to other parameters obtained from tensile test well correlate with the LPH value. In comparision with the Erichsen test and LDH test the PSST can be statistically used as an alternative in assessing the stamping formability of automotive steel sheets with the advantages of good reproducibility and easy testing method.
Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) is a common method for measuring out-of-plane deformation and in-plane deformation and applied for vibration analysis and strain/stress analysis. However, ESPI is sensitive to environmental disturbance, which provide the limitation of industrial application. On the other hand, Shearography based on shearing interferometer which is insensitive to vibration disturbance can directly measure the first derivative of out-of-plane deformation. In this paper a technique that extract out-of-plane deformation from results of shearography by numerical processing is proposed and measurement results of ESPI and Shearoraphy are compared quantitatively.
Punching/blanking/shearing is among the oldest and most frequently used sheet metal forming process. We have developed the shear device for burrless cutting using the micro wire. Since the burr minimization and fine shear plane, this paper is a study on the effect of the shear angle and clearance of the cutter-cutter. And, we confirm the tendency of the shear plane. It is impossible to completely remove the burr in the shearing process. In order to minimize the burr size and fine shear plane, we have accomplished the various experiment conditions such as the shear angle and clearance. Despite the quality of shear plane is not good enough yet, it is possible to make the burr minimization and fine shear plane by the optimization of process parameters.
