Up to the present the study on the performance prediction of HAWT was performed mainly by assuming the axial flow. So in this paper we aimed at the fully non-axial flow of HAWT. For this purpose, we defined the wind turbine pitch angle in addition to the yaw angle to specify the arbitrary wind direction. And we adopted the Glauert method as the basic analysis method then modified this method suitably for our goal. By comparing the computational results obtained by this modified new Glauert method with the experimental results, it was proved that our method was a very efficient method. And on the basis of the reliability of this method we considered the effect of all the design parameters and presented the optimum blade geometry and the optimum operating condition to gain the best performance curve.

It is required to design the RF link with sufficiently stable signal margin to minimize bit errors and improve the quality of received data in the telemetry system modulated digitally like PCM/FM. In case of the vehicle flying at a high speed, the variation of the gain pattern between transmitting and receiving antenna and the fee space loss due to flight distance cause the fluctuation of link. In this paper, KSR(Korea Sounding Rocket)- III, the first domestic liquid rocket which was successfully launched in Nov. 2002 is introduced. The SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) variation of the telemetry signal which was measured at S-band ground station, the one which was simulated considering the flight trajectory, and the attitude variation such as roll, pitch and yaw are compared, analyzed, and agree very well. In addition, two virtual flying situations are simulated and evaluated-only one antenna is equipped in one case, and rocket is roll-free in the other.

This paper proposers a preprocessing approach to improving the quality of the music produced by the EVRC(enhanced variable rate codec) which is one of the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) voice codecs. Since the EVRC is optimized only for speech signals, it can deteriorate the quality of the music passed through it. One of the problems with the EVRC-coded music is time-clipping, which usually occurs when subsequent frames are encoded at Rate l/8. Since the EVRC determines the bit rate for an input frame based on the long-term prediction gain, we increase the long-term prediction gain in order for the most of the frames to be encoded at Rate 1 or Rate 1/2. Experimental results show that the approach works well on music signals and the number of time-clipped frames is considerably reduced.

The KSR-III rocket is a liquid propellant sounding rocket and thrust vector control actuators and cold gas thrusters are used to control pitch and yaw, roll attitude respectively during thrusting phase. In this paper, the structure of designed attitude controller and gain scheduling, results of stability analysis for KSR-III rocket are presented. The attitude controller is implemented with flight software in the domestically developed INS and successfully performed its function in the flight test. The flight data are coincident with simulation results.
Isroaniso matrix precursor synthesized from commercially available petroleum pitch was stabilized in air. The influence of oxygen mass gain during stabilization on the yield of matrix precursor was studied. Additionally, the influence of pressure on the yield of the stabilized matrix precursor in a real system was studied. The fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), yield, yield rate, and yield impact were used to check the effect of stabilization and pressure on the yield of the matrix precursor and the end properties of the composite thereafter. The results showed that the yield increased with stabilization duration up to 20 h whereas it decreased for stabilization duration beyond 20 h. Further results showed that the stabilized matrix precursor for a duration of 5 h could withstand almost two-fold greater hot-pressing pressure without resulting in exudation as compared to that of a 1 h stabilized matrix precursor. The enhanced hot-pressing pressure significantly improved the yield of the matrix precursor. As a consequence, the densification and mechanical properties were increased significantly. Further, the matrix precursor stabilized for a duration of 20 h or more failed to provide proper and uniform binding of the reinforcement.

Because a packet loss brings about degradation of speech quality, VoIP speech coders have PLC (Packet Loss Concealment) mechanism. G.711, which is a mandatory VoIP speech coder, also has the PLC algorithm based on pitch period replication. However, it is not robust to burst losses. Thus, we propose two methods to improve the performance of the original PLC algorithm in G.711. One adaptively utilizes voiced/unvoiced information of adjacent good frames regarding to the current lost frame. The other is based on adaptive gain control according to energy variation across the frames. We evaluate the performance of the proposed PLC algorithm by measuring a PESQ value under different random and burst packet loss simulating conditions. It is shown from the experiments that the performance of the proposed PLC algorithm outperforms that of PLC employed in ITU-T Recommendation G.711.
In this study, the leveling control system for a tractor has been developed. The experimental model showed that the implementation of the proposed hydraulic control system fur the prototype design of a slope land tractor was feasible. The front axle was designed as a center pin type and the rear axle was designed as a trailing arm type. The leveling control of the body on the slope land was accomplished by controlling the height of the right and left trailing arms using the electronic controlled hydraulic cylinder. The maximum leveling control angles were ${\pm}$15$^{\circ}$ for roll angle and 7$^{\circ}$far pitch angle. The front and rear wheel drives were transmitted by gears from the main shaft to the final drive. The adaptability of the hydraulic control system was tested and investigated by analyzing the system response in time and frequency domain. The hydraulic control system on a step input showed a linearly increasing trend without any overshoot state. The hydraulic control system on a frequency input showed a little phase differences and gain drops within the range of 0.3Hz.
A voice transformation (VT) method that can make the utterance of a source speaker mimic that of a target speaker is described. Speaker individuality transformation is achieved by altering three feature parameters, which include the LPC cepstrum, pitch period and gain. The main objective of this study involves construction of an optimal sequence of features selected from a target speaker's database, to maximize both the correlation probabilities between the transformed and the source features and the likelihood of the transformed features with respect to the target model. A set of two-pass conversion rules is proposed, where the feature parameters are first selected from a database then the optimal sequence of the feature parameters is then constructed in the second pass. The conversion rules were developed using a statistical approach that employed a maximum likelihood criterion. In constructing an optimal sequence of the features, a hidden Markov model (HMM) was employed to find the most likely combination of the features with respect to the target speaker's model. The effectiveness of the proposed transformation method was evaluated using objective tests and informal listening tests. We confirmed that the proposed method leads to perceptually more preferred results, compared with the conventional methods.
In this paper we discuss a direct satellite broadcasting system for vehicle. The proposed satellite-steering algorithm and controller based on it are designed for a communication and broadcasting system which uses the Mugungwha satellite. The Mugungwha satellite that the proposed system should steer is a geostationary orbit device. The satellite-steering algorithm computes azimuth and elevation with reference to a stationary point on earth. This is extended to a real satellite steering algorithm that considers position and attitude. Real moving position and attitude are represented by latitude, longitude, roll, pitch and yaw. To apply these five pieces of information to the reference satellite steering algorithm, we introduce Euler's degree coordinates that express independently the rotation of each axis relative to an axis. There are two ways a basic algorithm of the antenna of a vehicle can track and orient to satellite. One way is a feedback loop method for broadcasting gain, while the other is a feedback loop method for position and attitude of a vehicle. In the present paper, we design a controller of satellite broadcasting system for a vehicle using an algorithm that combines the two methods. We performed a simulation and experiment to prove effectiveness.
This paper improves the performance of VAD (Voice Activity Detector) in G.723.1 Annex A 6.3kbps/5.3kbps dual rate speech coder, which is developed for Internet Phone and videoconferencing. The VAD decision is based on a three-level energy threshold. We evaluates for processing time, speech quality, and bit rate. The processing time is reduced due to the accuracy of VAD decision on the silence period. On subjective quality test there is almost no difference compared with the G.723.1. In order to measure the bit rate we count the active speech frame (VAD=1) and we can reduce more bit rate as silence periods are shown.
