  • In this paper, real-time voice change method using pitch change technique is proposed to change one's voice to the other voice. For this purpose, sampling rate change method using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform) method and time scale modification method using SOLA (Synchronized Overlap and Add) method is combined to change pitch. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, voice transformation experiments were conducted. Experimental results showed that original speech signal is changed to the other speech signal in which original speaker's identity is difficult to find. The system is implemented using TI TMS320C6711DSK board to verify the system runs in real time.

  • We analyzed the non-Newtonian and non-isothermal flow in a single screw extruder system and investigated the mixing performance with respect to the screw speed and the screw pitch. The viscosity of polymer melt was described with Carreau-Yasuda model. The mixing performance was computed numerically by tracking the motions of particles in the screw element system. The extent of mixing was characterized in terms of the deformation rate, the residence time distribution, and the strain. The results revealed that the high screw speed reduces the residence time but increases the deformation rate while the small screw pitch increases the residence time. It is concluded that the high screw speed increases the dispersive mixing performance and the small screw pitch increases the distributive mixing performance.

  • This paper proposes speaker recognition algorithm which includes both the pitch parameter and the fuzzy. This study proposes a pitch detection method for the peak and valley pitch detection function by means of comparing spectra which utilizes the transform characteristics between time and frequency. It measures the similarity to the original spectrum while arbitrarily varying the period in the time domain. It heavily weights the error due to the changing characteristics of the phonemes, while it is strong against noise. In this paper, makes reference pattern using membership function and performs vocal track recognition of common character using fuzzy pattern matching in odor to include time variation width for non-linear utterance time.

  • MCMB (mesocarbon microbeads) has been synthesized from coal tar pitch, petroleum pitch and polymer compound generally. But yield of MCMB was low about 20~40 wt% and was not above 50 wt%. Neither MCMB was replaced with natural graphite because of economic performance, refining MCMB, and control of the particle size distribution. This study was performed to elevate yield of MCMB and to develop technique of particle size distribution. As the result, yield of MCMB that was synthesized from coal tar pitch increased more than 60 wt% about raw material and particle size of MCMB was restrained according to control of QI (quinoline insoluble) ingredient in raw pitch, heat treatment temperature and time.

  • Multi-Layer Ceramic Circuit(MLCC) in the face of thousands of fine pitch multi hole is processed. However, the fine pitch multi hole has a size of only a few micrometers. Therefore, in order to curtail the measurement time and reduce error, the image processing measurement method is required. So, we proposed an image processing measurement algorithm which is required to accurately measure the fine pitch multi hole. The proposed algorithm gets image of the fine pitch multi hole, extracts object from the image by morphological process, and extracts the parameters of its position and feature by edge detecting process. In addition, we have used the sub-pixel algorithm to improve accuracy. As a result, the proposed algorithm shows 97% test-retest measurement reliability within 2 ${\mu}m$. We found that the algorithm was wellsuited for measuring the fine pitch multi hole.

  • Pitch period that is a important factor in speech signal processing is used in various applications such as speech recognition, speaker identification, speech analysis and synthesis. So many pitch detection algorithms have been studied until now. AMDF which is one of pitch period detection algorithms chooses the time interval from valley point to valley point as pitch period. In selection of valley point to detect pitch period, complexity of the algorithm is increased. So in this paper we proposed the simple algorithm using rotation transform of AMDF that detects global minimum valley point as pitch period of speech signal and compared it with existing methods through simulation.

  • The safety relating to leakage of water and pitch instability of ship chambers of the full balanced hoist vertical shiplifts has been the focus of adoption of the type of vertical shiplifts. This paper aims to remove the doubts through theoretical and engineering researches. The leakage and pitch stability of ship chambers of full balanced hoist vertical ship lifts are investigated on the basis of theoretical analysis and exploration of engineering measures. Regarding the issue of leakage of ship chambers, a mathematical model on leaking process is built and corresponding formula and coping measures are obtained which can be applied in control program of ship lifts by linking with monitoring. The concept of safety grade is put forward to seek the best technical and economic index and the corresponding technical measures are for different grades of ship lift is suggested. For the issue of pitch instability, a methodology of combining theoretical deduction and summary of achievements of design and operation of the type of the full balanced hoist shiplifts is adopted, and the formula for design about pitch stability of ship chambers is derived.

  • We propose a two-channel(Speech & EGG) pitch detection algorithm. The EGG signal monitors the vibratory motion of vocal folds very well. Therefore, using the EGG signal as well as speech signal, we obtain a reliable and robust pitch detection algorithm that minimizers problems occuring in the pitch detection with speech only. The proposed algorithm gives precise pitch markers that are synchronized to the speech in the time domain. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the two-channel pitch detection algorithm over the conventional method, and it can be used in obtaining reference pitch for evaluation of other pitch detection algorithms.

  • Many previous studies reported acoustic parameters of English vowels produced by a clear speaking style. In everyday usage, we actually produce speech sounds with various speaking styles. Different styles may yield different acoustic measurements. This study attempts to examine pitch and formant trajectories of eleven English vowels produced by nine American males in order to understand acoustic variations depending on clear and conversational speaking styles. The author used Praat to obtain trajectories systematically at seven equidistant time points over the vowel segment while checking measurement validity. Results showed that pitch trajectories indicated distinct patterns depending on four speaking styles. Generally, higher pitch values were observed in the higher vowels and the pitch was higher in the clear speaking styles than that in the conversational styles. The same trend was observed in the three formant trajectories of front vowels and the first formant trajectories of back vowels. The second and third trajectories of back vowels revealed an opposite or inconsistent trend, which might be attributable to the coarticulation of the following consonant or lip rounding gestures. The author made a tentative conclusion that people tend to produce vowels to enhance pitch and formant differences to transmit their information clearly. Further perceptual studies on synthesized vowels with varying pitch and formant values are desirable to address the conclusion.
