벨로우즈형 신축관이음의 휨각도 예측 및 이를 이용한 배관계의 안정성 해석 (Prediction of Bending Angle of Bellows and Stability Analysis of Pipeline Using the Prediction)

  • In this study, the prediction of the bending angle for the 350 A bellows-type expansion joints and the structural stability according to the load were determined. The stability of the 2km piping system was predicted by applying the allowable bending angle of the expansion pipe joint obtained from the analysis. The maximum bending angle was calculated through bending analysis of the bellows-type expansion joints, and the maximum bending angle by numerical calculation was about 1.8°, and the maximum bending angle of the bellows obtained by comparing the allowable strength of the material was about 0. 22°. This angle was very stable compared to the allowable bending angle (3°) of the expansion pipe joint regulation. By applying the maximum bending angle, the allowable maximum deflection of the 2 km pipe was about 3.8 m. When the seismic load was considered using regression analysis, the maximum deflection of the 2km pipe was about 142.3mm, and it was confirmed that the bellows-type expansion joints and the deflection were stable compared to the allowable maximum deflection of the pipe system. These research results are expected to present design and analysis guidelines for the construction of piping and the development of bellows systems, and to be used as basic data for systematic research.

주물 파이프 Gasket을 통한 유기화학물질의 이동 (Permeation of Organic Chemicals through Gasketed Cast Iron Pipe)

  • 깨끗한 모래로 채워진 4개의 16갤론 크기 드럼통에 주물 파이프가 설치되었고 각 파이프에는 3개의 styrene butadiene rubber gasket(1개의 joint와 2개의 end caps)을 장치하였다. 각 파이프는 상수로 채워 내부의 압력을 약 40psi로 유지하였다. 첫 번째 드럼은 일정량의 휘발유로, 두 번째 드럼은 pyrene과 naphthalene을 포함한 휘발유로, 세 번째 드럼은 toluene으로 채워졌고, 네 번째 드럼은 대조군으로 사용되었다. 외부 오염물질의 이동에 의한 오염을 조사하기 위해 일정 간격으로 파이프 내의 물을 약 2년 간 조사하였다. 오염 물질이 투입된 3개의 드럼에서 약 100일 후부터 유기 오염 물질이 검출되었고 외부에 채워진 유기물이 고갈될 때까지 계속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보였다. 이미 오염된 물을 깨끗한 물로 청소한 후에도 오염된 gasket에 남아있는 유기물질이 유출되어 파이프 내의 물이 쉽게 오염되었으며 약 10일 후에는 청소 이전의 농도로 검출되어 gasket에 의한 오염이 오래 동안 지속되는 것으로 나타났다.

인텀샤프트 일체형 유니버셜 파이프 조인트용 다단조금형의 단조공정해석 (Forging Process Analysis of the Multi-forging Die for the Unified Universal Pipe Joint of the Intermediate Shaft)

  • This study was aimed at the design of the dies for the unified pipe joint of the intermediate shaft using the computer simulation to shorten the period of production, on the basis of the process planning which was designed by the field experts. In the computer simulation, 'Deform-3d' and 'eesy-DieOpt' have been used, which are the commercial process analysis and die design program. Through the process analysis, we could know the propriety of the forming process, the inner pressure of the die and the suitable fitting pressure between the insert and the sleeve which was not showing any positive tangential stresses in the insert. Through the simulation of die design, we could know the number of the stress ring, the diameter ratios, the stresses of the die, the shrink fitting tolerance and temperature in the condition of the already determined maximum outer die diameter of the multi-stage former. The validity of the die design using the computer simulation was analyzed by the experiments and the results were satisfactory. As the results of this study, the new and easy die design system for multi-forging has been developed.

접합부 변형을 고려한 파이프 설비의 효율적인 해석 (Efficient Analysis of Piping Systems with Joint Deformation)

  • Piping systems are composed of pipes with various thickness, diameter and length. Accurate analysis of a piping system requires a complicated three dimensional finite element model and a computer system with large memory size, while simplified models result in system response prediction with deteriorated accuracy. An efficient analysis model for piping systems is proposed in this study. The proposed model is developed by introducing a joint model which accounts for the behavior of a pipe connection. Pipes are represented by beam elements and the effect of local deformation of pipe connections are replaced by joint element deformations. The proposed model which is as simple and efficient as a beam model can be used to obtain piping system response with accuracy close to that of a finite element model.

스프링클러설비용 CPVC관과 신축배관 접속부분에서의 누수저감 대책에 관한 연구 (Leakage-reduction Measures at a Joint between CPVC Piping for a Sprinkler System and a Pipe Expansion)

  • 본 연구는 스프링클러설비용 CPVC관과 신축배관 접속부분에서의 누수저감을 위하여 신축배관을 연결하기 위한 밸브소켓과 신축배관 너트부분에 삽입되는 수밀 고무패킹 재질에 대한 국내 및 국외 관련 규격의 검토와 관련 시험 등을 통해 대책을 제안하고자 한다. 누수시험을 통해 밸브소켓 재질은 신축배관 너트부분이 금속제인 경우 금속제로 사용하거나 신축배관 너트부분의 재질을 합성수지제로 사용하여야함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 밸브소켓의 적정 품질 확보를 위해서는 나사산 규격과 검사기준으로 KS B 0221(관용평행나사)와 나사산 검사규격을 KS B 5223(관용 평행나사 게이지)에 따르도록 관련 기준을 개정할 필요가 있다. 그리고 신축배관 너트부분에 설치되는 수밀용 고무링 소재에 대해 세부적인 기준이 없어 NBR과 EPDM 소재가 함께 사용되고 있으나 수밀성이 우수한 EPDM 소재가 사용되도록 관련 기준을 개정할 필요가 있다.

구속 링을 이용한 관 결합 공정의 응력해석 (Stress Analysis of Pipe Connection Process Using Clamping Ring)

  • The pipe connection process using a clamping ring is used for joining small pipes in the refrigerator and air-conditioner industries instead of the brazing process, which induces inevitable thermal deformation in the pipes. However, few studies have been carried out on the process to select optimal parameters in joining pipes, and studies on the relation between the process parameters of the connection and connecting force of the joint have not been conducted. In this study, the connection process of pipes with the clamping ring was modeled using the finite element method (FEM) and analyzed to obtain the contact stress distribution between the pipes with which the connecting force of the joint was estimated. Considering the characteristics of pipe connection, the process was modeled and simulated in a two-dimensional axisymmetric solution domain. With the numerical model, the effect of ring shape on the connection was studied by adding a projection to the end of a ring or changing the length of a ring. The results of the analyses revealed that the contact stress distribution could be predicted with the suggested model. The effect of the ring shape was also presented. The effect of any combination of process parameters could be easily estimated through the related analyses.

용접선 추적 비전장치를 이용한 원형-사각 파이프의 T형 조인트 레이저용접 (T-joint Laser Welding of Circular and Square Pipes Using the Vision Tracking System)

  • Because of its fast and precise welding performance, laser welding is becoming a new excellent welding method. However, the precise focusing and robust seam tracking are required to apply laser welding to the practical fields. In order to laser weld a type of T joint like a circular pipe on a square pipe, which could be met in the three dimensional structure such as an aluminum space frame, a visual sensor system was developed for automation of focusing and seam tracking. The developed sensor system consists of a digital CCD camera, a structured laser, and a vision processor. It is moved and positioned by a 2-axis motorized stage, which is attached to a 6 axis robot manipulator with a laser welding head. After stripe-type structured laser illuminates a target surface, images are captured through the digital CCD camera. From the image, seam error and defocusing error are calculated using image processing algorithms which includes efficient techniques handling continuously changed image patterns. These errors are corrected by the stage off-line during welding or teaching. Laser welding of a circular pipe on a square pipe was successful with the vision tracking system by reducing the path positioning and de focusing errors due to the robot teaching or a geometrical variation of specimens and jig holding.

고주파 전기저항용접부 강관에서의 피로수명의 확률론적 평가 (Probabilistic Evaluation of Fatigue Life in High Frequency Electric Resistance Welded Joint of the Pipe)

  • In this study, the optimal welding condition of the input power was selected experimentally through the ERW simulator, which is equal to welding status of ERW part in pipe. This condition is the input power 250kW in the heat treatment of the $900^{\circ}C$ normalizing derived from the nondestructive technique and impact energy. In order to evaluate the variation of the fatigue life in the pipe, fatigue surface crack growth test of base and optimal welded metal were performed statistically. As stress intensity factor range (${\Delta}K_s$) increases, the fatigue crack propagation rate (da/aN) of the base metal is faster than that of the welded joint. The variation of the fatigue life in the ERW pipe was estimated statistically using Monte-Carlo simulation with the standard deviation of material constants (C and m) of the paris law in the specimen.

FE analysis of RC pipes under three-edge-bearing test: Pocket and diameter influence

  • This paper studies on the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) pipes used in basic sanitation in the conduction of storm water and sanitary sewer. Pipes with 800 mm and 1200 mm in diameter were analyzed. The 800 mm pipes were built with simple reinforcement and the 1200 mm pipes with double reinforcement. For the two diameters of pipes the presence or absence of the pocket was evaluated, and the denomination of each one is spigot and pocket pipe (SPP) and ogee joint pipe (OJP), respectively. The 3D numerical models reproduce the three-edge-bearing test that provides information about the strength and stiffness of the reinforced concrete pipes. The validation of the computational models was carried out comparing the vertical and horizontal displacements on the springline and crown/invert and it was also evaluated the reinforcement strains and the crack pattern. As a main conclusion, the numerical models represented satisfactorily the behavior of the pipes and can be used in future studies in parametric analysis.
