The Study on the Method of Distribution of output according to Power Limit of Renewable Energy (재생에너지 출력제한에 따른 출력량 배분 방안 연구)

  • There is a case where the output of renewable energy(RE) is curtailed due to an increase in the share of RE. Typically, wind power(WP) is curtailed due to oversupply and low load at midnight. However there is a case where the output of WP is limited during daytime due to the increase in share of photovoltaic(PV). In current electricity market, as the share of PV is increased, the curtailments of WP will be increased further, which will add to the difficulties of wind farm operators. In this paper, we propose a method to distribute the power limit of RE according to the criterion based on the priority constraint of the energy source which is difficult to operate the power system.

  • Photovoltaic power generation systems make up a large part of the low carbon energy trend. The purpose of this study is to utilize PVsyst, a commercial forecasting program, to forecast research on the design stages of photovoltaic power generation for wider applications of this system in railroads and to consider prospective issues for photovoltaic power plants that are currently being operated. Given this, we will compare the forecast value of generated photovoltaic power, derived from foreign weather forecast information provided by NASA, along with information from Meteonorm, and the forecast values derived from the KMA weather information. By comparing these values with amounts actually generated by KPX, this research aims to secure propriety rights for wider application of photovoltaic power generation systems in railroads, and to contribute to low carbon energy for the new climate of the future.

Study on Surface Temperature Change of PV Module Installed on Green Roof System and Non-green Roof System (옥상녹화와 비 옥상녹화 평지붕에 설치 된 PV모듈의 표면온도 변화 고찰)

  • Today, various activities to save energy are being conducted around the world. Even in our country, carbon reduction policy is being conducted for low carbon green growth and with this movement, effort to replace energy sources by recognizing the problems on environment pollution and resource exhaustion due to the indiscrete usage of fossil fuel is being made. Therefore, active study on renewable energy is in progress as part of effort to replace the energy supply through fossil fuel and solar ray industry has rapidly developed receiving big strength of renewable energy policies. The conclusion of this study measuring the surface temperature change of single crystal and polycrystalline PV module in green roof system and non-green roof system aspect are as follows. There was approximately $4^{\circ}C$ difference in PV module temperature in green roof system and non-green roof system aspect and this has the characteristic to decrease 0.5% when the temperature rises by $1^{\circ}C$ when the front side of the module is $20^{\circ}C$ higher than the surrounding air temperature following the characteristic of solar cells. It can be concluded that PV efficiency will be come better when it is $4^{\circ}C$ lower. Also, in result of temperature measurement of the module back side, there was $5^{\circ}C$ difference of PV module installed on the PV module back side and green roof system side on the 5th, $3^{\circ}C$ on the 4th, $2^{\circ}C$ on the 5th to show decreasing temperature difference as the air temperature dropped, but is judged that there will be higher temperature difference due to the evapotranspiration latent heat effect of green roof system floor side as the temperature rises. Based on this data, it is intended to be used as basic reference to maximize efficiency by applying green roof system and PV system when building non-green roof system flat roof.

  • In this paper proposes a novel tacking algorithm regarding the power loss when operating a tracking system for a rapidly changing insolation to improve the power of PV hacking system. The tracking system of sensor method used in a conventional PV power station is unable to exactly track a sun position when lacking in the intensity of radiation and has the problem is malfunction of tracking system by a rapidly changing climatic. The tracking system of program method spends too much energy on the unnecessary operation of tracking system because that is unable to adapt itself to a outside factor of climatic environment. In case of tracking an azimuth and altitude of the sun in realtime, therefore, the actual PV power is less increasing than the power of tracking system fixed a specific position. To reduce the power loss, this pap proposes a novel control algorithm of the tracking system. Also, this paper is analyzed efficiency of traditional solar tracking method and proposed method, prove validity of proposed algorithm through demonstrable study.

A Study on Searching Algorithm for Malfunction Pattern of Protection Devices in Distribution System with PV Systems (태양광전원이 연계된 배전계통 보호협조기기의 부동작패턴 탐색알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the Korean government developed the RE3020 (renewable energy) policy to overcome environmental problems, such as fine dust, climate change, and large-scale PV systems interconnected with a distribution system. When a large-scale PV system is interconnected in the distribution system, however, a malfunction can occur, and the protection devices may not be operated because of the dividing effect depending on the magnitude and direction of fault current as well as connection types and location of the PV system. Therefore, this paper proposes a search algorithm for the malfunction pattern of protection devices based on various scenarios, when large-scale PV systems are operated and interconnected in a distribution system. This paper presents a malfunction mechanism of protection devices according to the installation locations of recloser (R/C). Furthermore, the modeling of a distribution system with large-scale PV systems was performed using Off-DAS S/W, and the malfunction patterns of protection devices were analyzed based on a range of scenarios. From the simulation results with the proposed model and algorithm for searching for protection devices, it was confirmed that they are useful and effective in identifying a malfunction phenomenon depending on the installation location of the R/C and connection type of PV system.

  • In photovoltaic system, the characteristic of photovoltaic module such as open circuit voltage and short circuit current will be changed because of cell temperature and solar radiation. Therefore, a boost converter of the PV system connects between the output of photovoltaic system and DC link capacitor of grid connected inverter as controlling duty ratio for maximum power point tracking(MPPT). This paper shows the dynamic characteristic of the boost converter by comparing single-loop control algorithm and two-loop control algorithm using both analog and digital control. The proposed both compensation method has been verified with computer simulation and simulation results obtained demonstrate the validity of the proposed control schemes.

  • Photovoltaic conditioning systems normally use a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to deliver the highest possible power to the load continuously when variations occur in the insolation and temperature. A unique method of tracking the maximum power points (MPPs) and forcing the boost converter system to operate close to these points is presented through deriving small-signal model and transfer function of boost converter considering input capacitor. This paper aims at modeling boost converter including fairly large equivalent series resistance(ESR) of input reservoir capacitor by state-space-averaging method and PWM switch model and compares both methods using Bode plots. In the future, properly designed controller for compensation will be constructed in 3kw real system for maximum photovoltaic power tracking control.

  • Standards are increasing of importance for photovoltaics. The rapid growth of production is one reason for this but standards are equally important in ensuring the quality and reliability of installed PV systems. which have a propound impact on acceptance of the technology in the expanding marketplace. Korea government (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. KATS)make and implement a five year plans for promotion of international standardization of this field from 2004. Through these works and harmonization of PV Korea standards with international standards(international electrotechnical commission. IEC). KATS leads the technology innovations and eventually increases the international Competitiveness. Strategic collaboration with other countries is also strengthened through Korea's participation in IECEE(IEC system for conformity and certification of electrical equipment) on standards and conformity assessment. One of the major goals of the Plan is to facilitate trade between Korea and its trading partners by emphasizing harmonization of its national conformity assessment system with international norms

If we think with flex idea, the existing PV system's role can be greatly changed. So in this paper, I want to suggest some ideas for PV systems as one of outstanding energy source.
