탄소섬유용 레이온섬유의 안정화공정 후 중량, 직경 및 열안정성에 미치는 인계 난연제의 영향 (Effect of Phosphorous-Based Flame Retardants on the Weight, Diameter, and Thermal Stability after Stabilization Processes of Rayon Fibers for Carbon Fibers)

  • 안정화공정은 선구물질(precursor) 섬유를 화학적, 물리적, 열적 그리고 구조적으로 안정한 탄소섬유로 전환시키는데 반드시 필요한 공정이다. 특히, $400^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 행하는 안정화공정 단계에서 발생하는 심각한 중량감소와 열수축을 동반하는 레이온섬유의 경우 그 중요성은 더욱 강조된다 레이온섬유의 안정화공정은 안정화온도뿐 아니라 승온속도, 화학전처리, 분위기가스 등 공정인자에 중요하게 의존한다. 본 연구에서는 안정화공정 승온속도 및 세 종류의 인계 난연제 처리의 유${\cdot}$무 및 농도 변화에 따라 얻어진 레이온섬유에 대하여 안정화공정 동안 열처리로 내부에서 발생하는 중량감소, 섬유직경 변화 그리고 안정화공정을 거친 레이온섬유의 열안정성을 조사하였다. 레이온섬유의 중량, 직경 및 열안정성은 승온속도 및 난연제 종류와 함량에 의존하였으며, $3\;vol\%$ 이하의 농도에서 인산으로 전처리하여 안정화공정을 수행하는 것이 레이온섬유에 대하여 후속 탄화공정을 준비하기에 가장 적절할 것으로 판단되었다.

득량만 퇴적물로부터 영양염 용출 평가 (Estimation of Nutrients Released from Sediments of Deukryang Bay)

  • The purpose of the present study is to estimate the release of dissolved Inorganic nitrogen and photophorous from sediments of Deukryang Bay. One method used In this study is to calculate nutrients released from a concentration gradient between sediment porewaters and the overlying water based on periments. The calculated and measured ammonium released from the sediments were 8.93mg-atN/$m^2$ hr and 60.4mg/atN/$m^2$ hr, respectively In July. 8.57mg-atN/$m^2$. hr and 32.9mg/atN/$m^2$ hr, respectively in October. The ammonium was released more highly in truly than in October, and the measured ammonium flux was higher than the calculated one. The calculated nitrate plus nitrite released from the sediments were 0.31mg/atN/$m^2$. hr in July and 0.84mg/atN/$m^2$. hr in October. The measured nitrate plus nitrite released from the sediments was 282mg/atN/$m^2$. hr in October. The calcuated was lower than the measured because the content of the nutrients in the sediments was always much more than in the overlying waters, and it has shown a differently seasonal pattern compared to the ammonium flux. The calculated phosphorous released from the sediments were 0.97mP/atN/$m^2$ hr and measured negative fluxed -6.50mP/atN/$m^3$ hr In truly, and alculated 0.18mg/atP/$m^2$. hr and measured 24.6mg/atP/$m^2$. hr, respectively in October.

고수부지를 이용한 여과습지의 수질정화 초기처리 (Treatment Efficiency of a Subsurface-Flow Wetland System Constructed on Floodplain)

  • This paper presents treatment efficiency and plant growth of a subsurface-flow constructed wetland system (23 m in length, 6.5 m in width, 0.65 m in depth) over one year after its establishment on floodplain of a stream in June 2000. An upper layer of 10 cm in depth was filled with course sand and the main biological layer of 50 cm depth with crushed stone with 8 - 15 mm in diameter. The system was planted with common reeds (Phragmites australis) grown on pots. Effluent discharged from a secondary-level treatment plant was funneled into it. Reed stems emerging in April 2001 grew up to 145.9cm until July 2001. The number of reed stems in July 2001 increased by about 11 times compared with that just after planting. The system was inundated seven times by storms over the monitoring period. Reeds were slightly bent after flooding, however they returned to almost upright standing in a couple of weeks. Small portion of inside slope of berm was eroded and the system surface had a sedimentation of 2 - 3 mm in depth. The average removal rates for SS, $BOD_5$, T-N and T-P was 73%, 70%, 53%, and 72%, respectively. The purification efficiencies for SS and $BOD_5$ were fairly good. The reduction rates for T-N was relatively low for the period of late fall through winter until early spring due to lower water temperature which retarded microbial nitrification and denitrification mechanisms. Reduction in the concentration of T-P during fall and winter was relatively higher than that during spring. Leach of phosphorous from plant litters lying on system surface and slight resuspension of precipitated phosphorous in substrates resulted in lower reduction for T-P in spring.

생물막공법을 이용한 도시하수처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Using Biofilm Process)

  • Most of biological treatment to remove contaminants in municipal wastewater have been conducted by activated sludge process. But, the process have several probIems such as enormous site needed for construction of treatment facilities, unstable treatment due to limited ability to control load fluctuation, frequent sludge bulking and appearance of lots of surplus sludge. In this study, the experiments were performed through submerging biofilm of PEPP media in existing aeration tank with raw water from municipal wastewater treatment plant and then submerging PVDC and PEPP media, different from shape and chemical peculiarity in anoxic reactor. Throughout the experience, nutrient removal efficiency according to HRT, nitrogen phosphorous removal efficiency, behavior of nitrogen and dewatering efficiency have been compared and analysed with those of activated sludge process. As the results, BOD removal efficiency according to BOD volumetric load and F/M ratio was not found any differency in two processes, but was decreased below 90% as going along the condition of high load in activated sludge process. Kinetic coefficient was $K_{max}=1.162day^{-1}$, $K_s=53.77mg/L$, $Y=0.166mgVSS/mgBOD_{rem}$. and $K_d=0.019day^{-1}$. It was found that the removal efficiency, even though in aerobic condition, in biofilm process equipped anoxic reactor was higher than the one in activated sludge process within the range of 70~80%, and became better as HRT increased. Phosphorous removal efficiency was not found any differency in two processes. In biofilm process, treament efficiency even in conditions of high load was not decreased, because the biomass concentration could be maintained in high condition compared with activated sludge process. As HRT increased, suspended and attached biomass was increased and the other hand, F/M ratio was decreased as biomass' increasing. Biomass thickness was increased. from $10.43{\mu}m$ to $10.55{\mu}m$ as HRT increased and density of biomass within $40.79{\sim}41.16mg/cm^2$. The results also present that the dewatering efficiency of sludge generated in biofilm process was higher than in activated sludge process, and became better as HRT increased.

Influence of Soil and Forage Minerals on Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) Parturient Haemoglobinuria

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the serum minerals profile in buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) suffering from parturient haemoglobinuria (PHU) along with minerals profile of soils and fodders from the disease prone areas and their interrelationships. Serum samples were collected from 60 each of healthy and PHU affected buffaloes randomly selected from field cases. Serum samples were collected from each animal. Fifty composite soil samples were collected where PHU was prevalent. Fifty samples of fodders including leaves and stems being fed to the diseased buffaloes were collected. The difference in the levels of calcium and potassium between upper and lower soil surface of disease prone areas under study were statistically non-significant. The mean values of phosphorous, copper, iron, selenium and molybdenum in upper soil surface were significantly (p<0.05) higher than in lower soil surface. None of the fodders offered to the diseased animals met the dietary requirements of phosphorus and copper whereas none of the fodders was deficient in potassium, iron and selenium rather were having excess of potassium, iron and selenium. The concentration of calcium was adequate in lucerne, berseem, sarson and sorghum, while maize, sugarcane and wheat straw did not meet the required levels for dairy animals. Molybdenum contents in all fodders were adequate to meet the dietary requirements of the dairy buffaloes. Serum phosphorus, copper and selenium were significantly (p<0.001) lower whereas potassium, iron and molybdenum in buffaloes suffering from PHU were significantly (p<0.001) higher than in healthy buffaloes. It was concluded that phosphorous deficient soils play a major role by transferring this deficiency to plants and ultimately reaching to animals where hypophosphataemia is a consistent finding.

의암호에서 퇴적물 용출에 대한 수온, 빛과 퇴적물 제거의 영향 (Effects of Water Temperature, Light and Dredging on Benthic Flux from Sediment of the Uiam Lake, Korea)

  • An experiment to study the effect of temperature, light, and dredging on release of nutrients downstream from Gongjicheon in the Uiam reservoir was carried out in the laboratory using sediments from different depths. At various water temperatures, dissolved total nitrogen was not released, but the average nutrient flux of dissolved total phosphorus was increased (0.034 at $15^{\circ}C$, 0.005 at $20^{\circ}C$, 0.154 at $25^{\circ}C$, $0.592mg/m^2/d$ at $30^{\circ}C$). Dissolved total phosphorous was released in controlled darkness. In contrast, in controlled light, the concentrations of dissolved total phosphorous and dissolved total nitrogen in the overlying water steadily decreased during the study period (70 d), because they were continuously consumed by the growth of photosynthetic algae. However, there was no significant relationship between water nutrient concentration, nutrient release, and the depth of the sediment. We concluded that the dredging of sediment would not affect the nutrient release rate of the sediment, because there were no significant differences in the nutrient concentrations released from the sediment. When the sediment was removed from the surface to 20 cm in depth, the nutrients were not transferred to the water body, implying that the sediment removal had little effect on secondary pollution.

퍼지제어기를 이용한 하폐수처리공정의 최적화 (Fuzzy Control and Optimization for the Wastewater Treatment Process)

  • There are increasingly important financial incentives and environmental consideration to improve the effluent quality of wastewater from domestic and industrial users. The activated sludge process is a widely used biological wastewater treatment process. The activated sludge process is complicated due to the many factors such as the variation of influent flowrate and concentration, the complexity of biological reactions and the various operation conditions. Nowadays, not only suspended solids and residual carbon, but also nitrogen and phosphorous concentration of the effluent water must be taken into account for the design and operation of wastewater treatment plants. Also, the effluent quality to be met are more stringent. Therefore, an intelligent control approach is required in order to successful biological nitrogen removal. In this paper, the strategies for dosage of extra carbon in the anoxic zone and DO concentration in the aerobic zone are presented and evaluated through the simulation using the denitrification layout of the IWA simulation benchmark implemented by Matlab$\^$/5.3/Simulink$\^$/3.0. The control strategy to achieve sufficient denitrification rates in an anoxic zone. Methanol is used as an external extra carbon source. The external extra carbon source is required for the nitrogen removal process because nitrogen and organic concentration are fluctuated in the influent flowrate. The dissolved oxygen is calculated by So concentration in the activated sludge model NO.1. The air flowrate of each aerobic reactor is intelligently controlled to achieve the predefined setpoints. Air flowrate is adjusted by the fuzzy logic controller that includes two inputs and one output. The objective function for the optimization procedure is designed to improve effluent quality and reduce the operating cost.

호소퇴적물로부터 인 용출 저감을 위한 Capping 처리 (Capping Treatment for the Reduction of Phosphorus Release from Contaminated Sediments of Lakes)

  • 팔당호 경안천 하류 정체수역에서 퇴적물 인 용출 저감을 위한 capping 소재를 개발하고자 실험실 규모의 batch test를 수행하였다. 조사지역 퇴적물 평균 입도는 7.7 ${\phi}$로 매우 세립하고, 유기탄소 함량은 2.4%로 매우 높게 나타났다. 최적의 capping 소재 선정을 위한 인 용출 실험을 위해 150 L 반응기 5개에 모래층, powder-gypsum($CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$), granule-gypsum, 복합층(gypsum+sand)로 capping을 한 경우와 control을 45일간 비교 평가하였다. 모래로 capping할 경우, 퇴적물로부터 용출되는 인을 약 50% 차단 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 모래층 1 cm로는 $CH_4$ gas 발생으로 인한 퇴적물의 재부유와 유기물 분해에 의한 수층 용존산소 감소(3 mg/L 이하)를 초래하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 모래로 capping을 할 경우에는 모래층이 더 높아져야 할 것으로 판단된다. powder-Gypsum과 granule-Gypsum은 80% 이상의 인 용출 저감 효과를 보였으나 수층 ${SO_4}^{2-}$ 농도가 증가되어 상수원보호구역에 적용하기 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 ${SO_4}^{2-}$의 용해도를 감소시키기 위해 Fe-Gypsum, $SiO_2$-gypsum 소재를 개발하였다. powder-Gypsum은 물과 결합시 경화되어 퇴적물 층위에 공극이 전혀 없는 차단막을 만들기 때문에 gypsum 층에 crack이 생길 경우, $CH_4$ gas 발생으로 인한 인 용출이 한꺼번에 일어날 수 있다. 복합층(granule-Gypsum+sand(1 cm))으로 capping을 할 경우, 인 용출 차단 효과가 높을 뿐만 아니라, ${SO_4}^{2-}$ 농도 역시 powder-Gypsum, granule-Gypsum 보다 수층으로 용출이 적어 상수원보호구역에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. Gypsum으로 capping을 할 경우, 빠른 초기속성작용(early diagenesis)과 ${SO_4}^{2-}$ 농도가 퇴적물에 충분히 공급되어 SRB(sulfate reducing bacteria)의 활성이 높아져 methanogensis의 진행을 저하시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

카올리나이트 KGa-2 (표준 점토)의 인산염 흡착-탈착 특성 (Phosphate Adsorption-Desorption of Kaolinite KGa-2 (Source Clay))

  • 카올리나이트 KGa-2 (표준 점토)의 인산염 흡착-탈착 특성을 규명하기 위하여 벳치(batch) 흡착 실험을 실시하였으며, 흡착 상태를 알아보기 위하여 ATR-FTIR (Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared) 분광분석을 실시하였다. 인의 함량은 UV-VIS-IR 분광분석 기를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 이 때 파장은 820 nm를 이용하였다. pH 4에서 pH 9 범위 내에서 카올리나이트 KGa-2의 인산염 흡착량은 pH가 증가하면 대체적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내지만, 인산염 농도에 따라 매우 다른 형태를 보여준다. 카올리나이트 KGa-2의 인산염 흡착 특성은 랑미어 흡착등온선, 템킨 흡착등온선, 프로인드리히 흡착등온선 순으로 잘 부합하며, 랑미어 최대 흡착능은 $204.1{\sim}256.5\;mg/kg$, 평균간은 232.5 mg/kg으로서, 카올리나이트 KGa-1b에 비하여 높은 인산염 흡착능을 가진다. 카올리나이트에 흡착된 대부분의 인산염이 탈착되기보다, 광물 내에 고착되는 경향을 나타내지만 이에 대해서는 후속적인 실험이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. ATR${\sim}$FTIR 스펙트럼에서 카올리나이트에 의한 흡수피크의 위치가 인 피크와 거의 중첩되고, 카올리나이트에 의한 흡수 피크의 강도가 인 피크에 비하여 월등히 크기 때문에 카올리나이트에 흡착된 인에 의한 피크를 카올리나이트 자체에 의한 피크로부터 분리하는 것이 거의 불가능하였다.

외대잔대(Adenophora racemosa J.Lee & S.Lee) 개체군의 classification과 ordination 분석 (A Study on Classification and Ordination of Adenophora racemosa Population)

  • This study was carried out to investigate vegetation structure and soil properties of Adenophora racemosa population distributed in Jeombongsan, Seoraksan, Odaesan and Dutasan in Gangwon-do, Korea. From August 2007 until September 2009, $2m{\times}2m$ quadrate was established in native area of Adenophora racemosa in order to record a dominants and coverage, and soil factors at 22 sites. It was found that the altitude in the distributed areas for Angelica gigas population was 800 m or more. Adenophora racemosa population was classified into Rhododendron mucronulatum dominant population, Geranium var. hirsutum dominant population, Caret siderosticta dominant population and Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus dominant population. In the site of study, soil pH, electrical conductivity, soil organic matter, available phosphorous, and exchangeable potassium, exchangeable calcium, exchangeable magnesium, exchangeable sodium concentration and total nitrogen were ranged from 5.0~7.1, 0.06~0.65dS/m, 0.96~8.94%, 12.3~32.8mg/kg, 0.12~0.89cmol+/kg, 0.34~10.08cmol+/kg, 0.1~l.4cmol+/kg, 0.02~0.29cmol+/kg and 0~8.4% respectively. According to the results of DCCA, Adenophora racemosa population were distributed in the high available phosphorous and exchangeable potassium, and Rhododendron mucronulatum dominant population was situated on low available potassium and high slope degree, Geranium var. hirsutum dominant population was high altitude, electrical conductivity and exchange magnesium, and Carex siderosticta dominant population and Aruncus dioicus var. kamtschaticus were distributed on high total nitrogen, organic matter, available phosphorous.
