Titanium and its alloys are widely used as implants in orthopedics, dentistry and cardiology due to their outstanding properties, such as high strength, high level of hemocompatibility and enhanced biocompatibility. Hence, recent works showed that the synthesis of new Ti-based alloys for implant application involves more biocompatible metallic alloying element, such as, Nb, Hf, Zr and Mo. In particular, Nb and Hf are one of the most effective Ti ${\beta}-stabilizer$ and reducing the elastic modulus. Plasma electrolyte oxidation (PEO) is known as excellent method in the biocompatibility of biomaterial due to quickly coating time and controlled coating condition. The anodized oxide layer and diameter modulation of Ti alloys can be obtained function of improvement of cell adhesion. Silicon (Si) and magnesium (Mg) has a beneficial effect on bone. Si in particular has been found to be essential for normal bone and cartilage growth and development. In vitro studies have shown that Mg plays very important roles in essential for normal growth and metabolism of skeletal tissue in vertebrates and can be detected as minor constituents in teeth and bone. The aim of this study is to research Si and Mg doped hydroxyapatite film formation by plasma electrolytic oxidation. Ti-29Nb-xHf (x= 0, 3, 7 and 15wt%, mass fraction) alloys were prepared Ti-29Nb-xHf alloys of containing Hf up from 0 wt% to 15 wt% were melted by using a vacuum furnace. Ti-29Nb-xHf alloys were homogenized for 2 hr at $1050^{\circ}C$. Each alloy was anodized in solution containing typically 0.15 M calcium acetate monohydrate + 0.02 M calcium glycerophosphate at room temperature. A direct current power source was used for the process of anodization. Anodized alloys was prepared using 270V~300V anodization voltage at room. A Si and Mg coating was produced by RF-magnetron sputtering system. RF power of 100W was applied to the target for 1h at room temperature. The microstructure, phase and composition of Si and Mg coated oxide surface of Ti-29Nb-xHf alloys were examined by FE-SEM, EDS, and XRD.

Commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) and Ti-6Al-4V alloys have been widely used for biomedical applications. However, the use of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy in biomaterial is then a subject of controversy because aluminum ions and vanadium oxide have potential detrimental influence on the human body due to vanadium and aluminum. Manganese(Mn) plays very important roles in essential for normal growth and metabolism of skeletal tissue in vertebrates and can be detected as minor constituents in teeth and bone. Radio frequency(RF) magnetron sputtering in the various PVD methods has high deposition rates, high-purity films, extremely high adhesion of films, and excellent uniform layers for depositing a wide range of materials, including metals, alloys and ceramics like a hydroxyapatite. The aim of this study is to research the Mn coatings on the micro-pore formed Ti-29Nb-xHf alloys by RF-magnetron sputtering for dental applications. Ti-29Nb-xHf (x= 0, 3, 7 and 15wt%, mass fraction) alloys were prepared Ti-29Nb-xHf alloys of containing Hf up from 0 wt% to 15 wt% were melted by using a vacuum furnace. The effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the optical properties of digital-alloy InGaAlAs multiple quantum well (MQW) structures have been investigated by using photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved PL measurements as a function of RTA temperature. The MQW samples were annealed from $700^{\circ}C$ to $850^{\circ}C$ for 30 s in a nitrogen atmosphere. The MQW sample annealed at $750^{\circ}C$ exhibited the strongest PL intensity and the narrowest FWHM (Full width at half maximum), indicating the reduced nonradiative recombination centers and the improved interfaces between the wells and barriers. The MQW samples annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ and $850^{\circ}C$ showed the decreased PL intensities and blueshifted PL peaks compared to $750^{\circ}C$-annealed sample. The blueshift of PL peak with increasing RTA temperatures are ascribed to the increase of aluminum due to intermixing of gallium (Ga) and aluminum (Al) in the interfaces of InGaAs/InAlAs short-period superlattices. The decrease of PL intensity after annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ and $850^{\circ}C$ are attributed to the interface roughening and lateral composition modulation caused by the interdiffusion of Ga and Al and indium segregation, respectively. With increasing RTA temperature the PL decay becomes slower, indicating the decrease of nonradiative defect centers. The optical properties of digital-alloy InGaAlAs MQW structures can be improved significantly with optimum RTA conditions.
In this paper, we have studied the characteristics of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and mode instability (MI) in a ytterbium-doped polarization-maintaining fiber laser with master oscillator power amplifier configuration. We measured the laser output power and back-reflection spectrum for a variety of ytterbium-doped fibers and seed lights, to investigate the power-scaling limits of fiber lasers. By optimizing the laser structure, we demonstrated an all-fiber high-power polarization-maintaining fiber laser with near-diffraction-limited beam quality. The output power of 1.5 kW was achieved with a linewidth of 10 GHz, generated by pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) phase modulation. The beam quality M2 was about 1.15 at the maximum output power. The polarization extinction ratio (PER) was greater than 17 dB.

In this paper, a 2.4 GHz doppler radar system consisting of a doppler radar sensor and a baseband module were designed to detect heart beat and respiration signal without direct skin contact. The doppler radar system emits RF signal of 2.4 GHz toward human chest, and then detects phase modulation of the reflected signal so as to investigate cardiopulmonary activities. The heartbeat and respiration signals acquired from I/Q channels of the doppler radar system are applied to the pre-processing circuit, the amplification circuit, and the offset circuit of the baseband module. The designed system was tested on mouse, rabbit and mankind, which have different range of heart rates and respiration signals, to evaluate detection accuracy of the system. ECG acquisition system and respiration transducer were used to generate the reference signal. In our experiments, a performance of detection were found to be high in the case that the subject stays still. In this paper, we confirmed that non-contact heart beat and respiration detection using the doppler radar has the possibility and limitation according to distance, cardiopulmonary activities, range of heart rates and respiration.

Purpose: The present study was aimed to investigate the change of optical quality in fully cured eyes from central serous chorioretionopathy(CSC) and CSC under treatment, respectively. Methods: A total of 136 eyes(68 subjects) was divided into CMC under treatment and its asymptomatic contralateral eye, fully cured eyes after being diagnosed with CMC and its contralateral eye, and normal eyes. Objective scattering index, cut-off value in modulation transfer function, focusing rate, PSF(Point Spread Function) width at 50%, 10% and the contrast sensitivity were measured and analyzed. Results: CMC under treatment showed statistically significant decrease in all evaluations of optical quality compared with asymptomatic contralateral eyes, fully cured eyes and normal eyes. Although there was no significant difference in optical quality between asymptomatic contralateral eyes of CMC under treatment and fully cured eyes, there was tendence in optical quality decreasing compared with normal eyes. Conclusions: From the study, it was revealed that the optical quality was different according to the treatment phase in CMC. The use of optical quality assessment for the decision of complete cure and the evaluation of prognosis in CMC is also proposed.
In order to achieve the low complexity and area, power in the design of Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) suitable for the smart phone, this paper presents the following design explorations, such as; optimization of gyroscope sampling rate, simple and accurate gyroscope filters, and reduced operating frequency of motion compensation, optimized bit width in ADC and DAC, evaluation of noise effects due to PWM driving. In experiments of gyroscope sampling frequencies, it is found that error values are unvaried in the frequency above 5KHz. The gyroscope filter is efficiently designed by combining the Fuzzy algorithm, to illustrate the reasonable compensation for the angle and phase errors. Further, in the PWM design, the power consumption of 2MHz driving is shown to decrease up to 50% with respect to the linear driving, and the imaging noises are reduced in the driving frequency above 2MHz driving frequency. The operating frequency could be reduced to 5KHz in controller and 10KHz in driver, respectively, in the motion compensation. For ADC and DAC, the optimized exploration experiments verify the minimum bit width of 11bits in ADC as well as 10bits in DAC without the performance degradation.
Aim: Although aberrant miRNA expression has been documented, altered miR-101 expression in cervical cancer and its carcinogenic effects and mechanisms remain unexplored. The aim of our study was to investigate the role of miR-101 alteration in cervical carcinogenesis. Methods: Expression of miR-101 was examined by quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR) in Hela cells. After modulating miR-101 expression using miR-101 mimics, cell growth, apoptosis and proliferation, and migration were tested separately by MTT or flow cytometry and cell wound healing assay and protein expression was detected by qRT-PCR. The expression of COX-2 in Hela cell was also examined by immunohistochemical staining and the correlation with miR-101 expression was analysed. Results: The miR-101 demonstrated significantly low expression in Hela cell. When we transfected miR-101 mimics into Hela cells, the modulation of miR-101 expression remarkably influenced cell proliferation, cycling and apoptosis: 1) The expression of microRNA-101 tended to increase after transfection; 2) Overexpression of miR-101 was able to promote cell apoptosis, the apoptosis rate being markedly higher (97.6%) than that seen pre-transfection (12.2%) (P<0.05); 3) The miR-101 negatively regulates cell migration and invasion, scratch results being lower ($42.7um{\pm}2um$) than that observed pre-transfection ($181.4um{\pm}2um$); 4) miRNA-101 inhibits the proliferation of Hela cells as well as the level of COX-2 protein, which was negatively correlated with miR-101 expression. Conclusions: Overexpression of miR-101 has obvious inhibitory effects on cell proliferation, migration and invasion. Thus reduced miR-101 expression could participate in the development of cervical cancer at least partly through loss of inhibition of target gene COX-2, which probably occurs in a relative late phase of carcinogenesis. Our data suggest an important role of miR-101 in the molecular etiology of cancer and indicate potential application of miR-101 in cancer therapy.

The SSB modem performs the modulation process which converts the digital voltage level to the audible frequency band signal and the demodulation process which converts reversely the audible frequency signal to the digital voltage level. The modulator and the demodulator are implemented with a single DSP chip. Because of the SSB specific character, the distortion occurs when the frequency is changed. This distortion has no effect on voice communication, but it has an significant effect on data communication. In other words, it is impossible to send data stream with adjacent 2 periods. Therefore, in case of using 2-tone FSK, it is needed to send at least 3 periods to transmit 1 bit. Therefore we implemented the modem using modified phase-delay shift keying to transmit 1 tone signal for high speed transmission. In the 1200[bps] mode, it generates 0, $187{\mu}s$ delay time at 1.3kHz symbol frequency, and in the 2400[bps] mode, 0, $70{\mu}s$, $130{\mu}s$, $200{\mu}s$ delay time at 1.5kHz symbol frequency. Finally, in the maximum 3600[bps] mode, it generates 0, $100{\mu}s$, $160{\mu}s$, $250{\mu}s$ delay time at 2.0kHz symbol frequency. The measured results of the implemented SSB modem shows a good transfer functional characteristic by spectrum analyzer, almost same bandwidth in pass band and 20dB higher SNR comparing the German PACTOR and American CLOVER and in the experimental transmitting test, we verified the transmitted data is received correctly in platform.

The global navigation satellite system (GNSS), which is the core technique for the location based service, adopts the direct sequence/spread spectrum (DS/SS) as its modulation method. The success of a DS/SS system depends on the synchronization between the received and locally generated pseudo noise (PN) signals. As a step in the synchronization process, the tacking scheme performs fine adjustment to bring the phase difference between the two PN signals to zero. The most widely used tracking scheme is the delay locked loop with early minus late discriminator (EL-DLL). In the ideal case, the EL-DLL is the best estimator among various DLL. However, in the band-limited multipath environment, the EL-DLL has tracking bias. In this paper, the timing offset range of correlation function is divided into advanced offset range (AOR) and delayed offset range (DOR) centering around the correct synchronization time point. The tracking bias results from the following two reasons: symmetry distortion between correlation values in AOR and DOR, and mismatch between the time point corresponding to the maximum correlation value and the synchronization time point. The former and latter are named as the type I and type II tracking bias, respectively. In this paper, when the receiver has finite bandwidth in the presence of multipath signals, it is shown that the type II tracking bias becomes a more dominant error factor than the type I tracking bias, and the correlation values in AOR are not almost changed. Exploiting these characteristics, we propose a novel tracking bias mitigation scheme and demonstrate that the tracking accuracy of the proposed scheme is higher than that of the conventional scheme, both in the presence and absence of noise.
