Brassinosteroids (BRs) are plant steroid hormones that play essential roles in growth and development. Mutations in BR-signaling pathways cause defective in growth and development like dwarfism, male sterility, abnormal vascular development and photomorphogenesis. Transition from vegetative to reproductive growth is a critical phase change in the development of a flowering plant. In a screen of activation-tagged Arabidopsis, we identified a mutant named abz126 that displayed longer hypocotyls when grown in the dark on MS media containing brassinazole (Brz), an inhibitor of BRs biosynthesis. We have cloned the mutant locus using adapter ligation PCR walking and identified that a single T-DNA had been integrated into the ninth exon of the GIGANTEA (GI) gene, involved in controling flowering time. This insertion resulted in loss-of-function of the GI gene and caused the following phenotypes: long petioles, tall plant height, many rosette leaves and late flowering. RT-PCR assays on abz126 mutant showed that the T-DNA insertion in GIGANTEA led to the loss of mRNA expression of the GI gene. In the hormone dose response assay, abz126 mutant showed: 1) an insensitivity to paclobutrazole (PAC), 2) an altered response with 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) and 3) insensitive to Brassinolide (BL). Based on these results, we propose that the late flowering and tall phenotypes displayed by the abz126 mutant are caused by a loss-of-function of the GI gene associated with brassinosteroid hormone signaling.

$SnO_2$ gas sensor for the detection DMMP, simulant of nerve gas was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Sensing materials were $SnO_2$ added by TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼20wt.% and $In_{2}O_{3}$ with 0∼3wt.% and were physically mixed each material. They were deposited by screen printing method on alumina substrate. The sensor was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit(IDT) type in front and a heater in back side. Its dimension was 7$\times$10$\times$0.6$\textrm{mm}^2$. Crystallite size 8t phase identification, specific surface area and morphology of fabricated $SnO_2$ powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), surface area analyzer(BET) and by a scanning electron microscope(SEM), respectively. Sensor was measured as flow type and sensor resistance change was monitored as real time using LabVIEW program. The best sensitivities were 75% at adding 4wt.% TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $300^{\circ}C$ and 87% at adding 2wt.% $In_{2}O_{3}$, operating temperature $350^{\circ}C$ to DMMP 0.5ppm. Response and recovery times were about 1 and 3 min., respectively. Repetition measurement was very good with $\pm$3% in full scale. As a result, operating temperature was lower TEX>$\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$ than $In_{2}O_{3}$, but sensitivity was higher $In_{2}O_{3}$ than $\alpha$-$Al_{2}O_{3}$.
The stability of paste solutions for electroluminescence display(ELD) device was found to be greatly affected by kind and dosage of a stabilizer used. The stabilizer Disperbyk-180 showed the best stability performance against phosphor paste solutions among the stabilizers used during this study. The phosphor paste solutions remained stable over 90 days with a wide range of added amounts of Disperbyk-180. Based on the above results, screen printing test was performed. The addition of Disperbyk-180 into phosphor and dielectric paste solutions produced improved qualities such as no phase separation, no bubble generation and no significant viscosity change during printing process. Especially for the phosphor paste solution, both uniformity and brightness were significantly improved and the excellent adhesion onto the ITO film was found. The ELD device fabricated using the above same paste solutions showed brightness of $57.6cd/m^2$ at 100V and 400 Hz. The half lifetime of ELD device was measured as 1,250 hours and almost the same value observed with imported commercial paste solutions.

In this study, a transient liquid phase sintering (TLPS) process of Ag pastes mixed with a fusible metal alloy of Bi58Sn42 with the melting temperature of $138^{\circ}C$, was examined. After screen printing of the Ag pastes with and without Bi58Sn42 powders on polyimide (PI) substrates, the electrodes were heat-treated at different temperatures in the range between 150 and $300^{\circ}C$ for 60 min in air. Comparing the electrical conductivity of the Ag pastes with and without Bi58Sn42 alloy powder after the heat treatment, it was manifested that the low melting temperature alloy definitely played a major role in an increased conductivity when it is added into the Ag pastes by providing more electrical conduction paths between Ag particles. This can be explained by the fact that capillary force of the melts of Bi58Sn42 can contribute to the rearrangement of the Ag particles during the heat-treatment inducing better connectivity between the Ag particles.
$SrTiO_3$ and $BaTiO_3$ sol-liquids and powders were prepared by the sol-gel method. $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ heterolayered thin/thick films have been prepared on the $Al_2O_3$ substrates by screen printing and spin-coating method. The thin films were sintered at $750^{\circ}C$ in the air for 1 hour and the thick films sintered at $1325^{\circ}C$ in the air for 2 hours, respectively. The $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ thin/thick films's structural and dielectric properties were investigated. Increasing the spin-coating times, (110), (200), (211) peaks of the $SrTiO_3$ were increased. The X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns and SEM photographs indicated that the $SrTiO_3$ phase were formed in the surface of $BaTiO_3$ thick films. The average thickness of a $BaTiO_3$ thick films and $SrTiO_3$ thin films were $50{\mu}m$ and 400nm, respectively The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the $SrTiO_3/BaTiO_3$ thin/thick films with $SrTiO_3$ coated 5 times were 1598 and 0.0436 at 10KHz.

The purpose of simple abdomen erect projection is to see the fluid level which indicates gastrointestinal ileus or free air due to perforation. we do not have to insist on low kVp technique in simple abdomen erect position as long as we can detect the fluid level and free air shadow. Therefore, the author tried to decrease patient dose by high kVp technique and to improve the image quality due to motion artifact by reduction of exposure time. [Methods] Experiment 1. * screen/film SRO1000/HRH * exposure factor : $140\;kvp{\pm}5\;kv$ with added filters, 200 mA, 0.01 sec * phantom : Acryles : 15.0 cm(equivalent to 17 cm body thickness) 17.5 cm(equivalent to 21 cm body thickness) 20.0 cm (equivalent to 25 cm body thickness) With the exposure factor for same film density($D=0.8{\pm}0.1$) and with the materials above, we tried to find out entrance skin dose and gonad dose for both male and female. Experiment 2. Burger's phantom radiography were checked to see whether there was any change of image quality according to the kVp and the added filters. Experiment 3. Using rotating meter(self made), we examined the motion artifact and the exposure time limitation. [Results and conculution] 1. Using high voltage technique of 140 kVp with added filter, Skin dose, testicle dose and ovary dose decrease to 89.3%, 47% and 71.4% respectively compare to 70 kVp technique, 2. No great changes of Burger's phantom image has detected as from 70 kVp to 140 kVp and the air hole size of Burger's phantom over 0.028 cc(Diameter 3 mm, hight 4 mm) can be distinghished. 3. 0.01 sec(1 pulse) exposure time is possible in the single phase full wave rectification that why we can quitely reduce the unsharness caused by patient's movement.
It is difficult to accurately evaluate the effect of lipophilic compounds in aqueous reaction system of enzymes because they are immiscible with water. To screen lipophilic inhibitors of tyrosinase which catalyzes the synthesis of melanin in vivo, an optically clear organic system composed of organic solvent, surfactant, and water, often called reverse micelles(RM), was introduced. Optimal RM to let tyrosinase act normally was composed of isooctane as an organic solvent and dioctyl sulfosuccinate(AOT) of 100 mM as a surfactant. When a molar ratio of water to surfactant was 15, tyrosinase(105.3 units) in RM showed a similar reactivity toward 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(0.18 mM) as in the aqueous assay system. In the presence of cinnamic acid, the product formation of tyrosinase reaction was proportional to the reaction time. This indicates that the inhibitory effect of lipophilic compounds could be analyzed in RM.

In order to screen out indicators for the discrimination of ginseng habitat, some physical and chemical characteristics of Korean red ginsengs (94 kinds) and Chinese red ginsengs (50 kinds) were analyzed by using a rheometer, an electronic nose system, a combined technique of solid phase micro-extraction (SPME) and gas chromatograph equipped with an electron capture detector (GC/ECD), an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF), an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP/MS), a near infrared spectrometer (NIRs) and high performance liquid chromatography equipped with evaporative light scattering detector (HPLC/ELSD). The results are summarized as follows: (i) The rhizome strengths of Korean red ginsengs were significantly higher than those of Chinese red ginsengs. (ii) The electronic nose patterns of Korean red ginsengs were significantly different from those of Chinese red ginsengs. (iii) Some unidentified peaks were detected not in the headspace of Korean red ginsengs but in the headspace of Chinese red ginsengs when the headspace volatiles prepared by the SPME technique were analyzed by GC/ECD. (iv) Either the content ratios of K to Ca or Mn to Fe were significantly different between Korean red ginsengs and Chinese red ginsengs. (v) The reflectance ratios of NIRs wavenumbers such as $904\;cm^{-1}\;to\;1088\;cm^{-1}$ for Korean red ginsengs were significantly different from those for Chinese red ginsengs. (vi) The content ratios of ginsenoside-Rg to ginsenoside-Re of Korean red ginsengs were significantly higher than those of Chinese red ginsengs. These results indicate that the rhizome strength, the electronic nose pattern, the occurrence of ECD-sensitive headspace volatile components, the content ratios of K to Ca and Mn to Fe, the NIRs pattern and the content ratio of ginsenoside-Rg to -Re may be indicators for the discrimination of ginseng habitat.

This study was carried out to screen the antifungal activity against Colletotrichum acutatum, Colletotrichum dematium, and Colletotrichum coccodes. Bacterial isolate GP-P8 from pepper soil was found to be effective against the tested pathogens with an average inhibition rate of 70.7% in in vitro dual culture assays. 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis result showed that the effective bacterial isolate as Bacillus siamensis. Biochemical characterization of GP-P8 was also performed. According to the results, protease and cellulose, siderophore production, phosphate solubilization, starch hydrolysis, and indole-3-acetic acid production were shown by the GP-P8. Using specific primers, genes involved in the production of antibiotics, such as iturin, fengycin, difficidin, bacilysin, bacillibactin, surfactin, macrolactin, and bacillaene were also detected in B. siamensis GP-P8. Identification and analysis of volatile organic compounds through solid phase microextraction/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SPME/GC-MS) revealed that acetoin and 2,3-butanediol were produced by isolate GP-P8. In vivo tests showed that GP-P8 significantly reduced the anthracnose disease caused by C. acutatum, and enhanced the growth of pepper plant. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analysis of pepper fruits revealed that GP-P8 treated pepper plants showed increased expression of immune genes such as CaPR1, CaPR4, CaNPR1, CaMAPK4, CaJA2, and CaERF53. These results strongly suggest that GP-P8 could be a promising biocontrol agent against pepper anthracnose disease and possibly a pepper plant growth-promoting agent.

Fine particles of $SnO_2$ were fabricated by the sol-gel powder processing using tine(II) chloride dihydrate($SnCl_2{\cdot}2H_2O$) and ethanol($C_2H_5OH$) as raw materials. The powders were investigated about the properties and electrical sensing. Gel powders were fabricated by drying of sol at $120^{\circ}C$ after aging 72hrs and 168hrs. The amount of $SnO_2$ phase was increased below $600^{\circ}C$ due to the elimination of volatile components, and the $SnO_2$ phase was almost completed by the heat treatment at $700^{\circ}C$ for 30min. The grain sizes were about 30nm below $700^{\circ}C$, and it showed the narrow distribution of the grain sizes. The specimens to measure electrical properties were fabricated by the thick film screen printing technique on the alumina substrates. The conductance of $SnO_2$ was showed the intrinsic behaviour of semiconducting ceramics above at $450^{\circ}C$. The constant conductance was observed in the temperature range of $200{\sim}450^{\circ}C$. The sensing properties of response time, recovery, and sensitivity of CO were improved with aging time.
