  • The purpose of this study focuses on the development of the lightweight BIM shape format(LBSF) structure to present the large volume BIM geometry object based on GIS as the viewpoint of the building facility management. Recently, the BIM-based facility management with GIS is researching with the purpose of the urban facility management etc. To implement these use-cases, the BIM geometry objects can be visualized based on urban level with GIS effectively. To do this, the lightweight BIM shape format is designed with the considerations and the prototype for the pilot test is implemented. In the pilot test phase, after developing the IFC file and LBSF file about the model data of the three areas, the performance with the data volume, the screen loading time etc was compared.

  • Using Babinet's principle and generalized sheet transition conditions(GSTCs), an analysis method for metascreens is proposed. First, the relation of a complementary screen between a metafilm and metascreen with the same dimensions was confirmed using Babinet's principle. These properties were verified by comparing the reflection coefficient of the patch and the transmission coefficient of the mesh. The patch and mesh are the basic structures of metafilms and metascreens, respectively. Based on these findings, it is also confirmed that the reflection coefficient of the patch surface calculated by GSTCs has the same value as the transmission coefficient of the mesh surface. It is expected that the proposed analysis methods can be applied to the magnitude, phase, and polarization of electromagnetic waves in the various unit structures of a given metasurface.

  • Korea is one of the countries with a large veterinary antibiotics market, although antimicrobial resistance in bacteria is becoming a serious issue in many countries. The Korean government started to take interest in estimating the effects of livestock manure on rivers and agricultural soils and in monitoring of heavy metals, organic pollutants and antibiotics in the ambient water and soil. In this paper, pre-treatment methods to separate the selected antibiotics from solid samples were reviewed. It is essential to select an efficient and appropriate procedure for pre-treatment due to the high proportion of proteins and organics in biosolid samples. Pre-treatment consists of extraction followed by clean-up. Initially, homogenized samples were extracted by sonication, mechanical agitation or pressurized liquid extraction with methanol/acetonitrile/water mixture under acidic/basic conditions depending on the compound. However, aminoglycosides and colistin were extracted with 5% trichloroacetic acid and HCl, respectively. Since the ${\beta}-lactams$ are easily decomposed in acidic and basic conditions, they were extracted in neutral pH. Filtration with a membrane (pore size, $0.2{\mu}m$) or solid phase extraction with HLB and methanol, as eluents, was normally applied for the clean-up. At least, three different pre-treatment procedures should be adopted to screen all the selected antibiotics in solid samples.

  • For the application of photo-detector as active layer, we have studied how to deposit SiGe thin film using an independent Si target and Ge target, respectively. Both targets were synthesized by purity of 99.999%. Plasma generators were generated by radio frequency (rf, 13.56 MHz) and direct current (dc) power. When Ge and Si targets were sputtered by dc and rf power, respectively, we could observe the growth of highly crystalline Ge thin film at the temperature of $400^{\circ}C$ from the result of raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction method. However, SiGe thin film did not deposit above method. Inversely, we changed target position like that Ge and Si targets were sputtered by rf and dc power, respectively. Although Ge crystalline growth without Si target sputtering deteriorated considerably, the growth of SiGe thin film was observed with increase of Si dc power. SiGe thin film was evaluated as microcrystalline phase which included (111) and (220) plane by X-ray diffraction method.

  • $Ni_{0.79}Co_{0.15-x}Cu_xMn_{2.06}O_4$ ($0{\leq}x{\leq}0.09$) thick films were fabricated using the conventional solid-state reaction method and screen-printing method. Structural and electrical properties of specimens based on the amount of Cu were observed in order to investigate their applicability in the infrared detector. All specimens showed a single spinel phase with a homogeneous cubic structure. As the amount of Cu increased, the average grain size increased and was found to be approximately $5.01{\mu}m$ for the $Ni_{0.79}Co_{0.06}Cu_{0.09}Mn_{2.06}O_4$ specimen. The thickness of all specimens was approximately $55{\sim}56{\mu}m$. As Cu content increased, the resistivity and TCR properties at room temperature decreased, and these values for the $Ni_{0.79}Co_{0.06}Cu_{0.09}Mn_{2.06}O_4$ specimen were $502{\Omega}-cm$ and $-3.32%/^{\circ}C$, respectively. The responsivity and noise properties decreased with an increase in Cu content, with the specimen with a Cu content of x=0.09 showing 0.0183 V/W and $5.21{\times}10^{-5}V$, respectively.

  • When thin slits (e.g., $1mm{\times}10mm$) of maize (Zea mays) coleoptiles were floated on a buffer, they spontaneously curved outward because of unbalanced tissue tension between inner and outer faces. Exogenously applied auxin induced inward curvature of the thin strip of the maize coleoptile in a dose-dependent manner. This bioassay system was used to screen endogenous substances that work together with auxin. In methanol extract of maize coleoptiles including the leaves inside, Active fractions that promote the auxin-induced inward curvature of maize coleoptile slices were found. The curvature-enhancing activity of the extract was not related to energy supply. The active substances were adsorbed to $C_{18}$ cartridges even at pH 10 and eluted in two fractions by 50% and 80% methanol. These substances were named as Curvature-Enhancing Factor-1 (CEF-1) and Curvature-Enhancing Factor-2 (CEF-2), respectively. The CEF-2 was resolved on a reversed phase $C_{18}$ column by HPLC.

  • Normal range has use mainly in the first phase of the diagnostic process, that is, to screen or to raise ideas about possible pathology. The traditional method of determining it is based on the probability paper or on the mean plus or minus two standard deviations. These methods are often turned out to be vague and impractical. The percentile method is adequate and flexible, though. The appropriate limit of lower and upper points should be chosen by considering medical aspects above all things and also the reliability of the range determined by the standard error. The results of normal range are interesting, strictly speaking, only for the hospital concerned. Differences exist between the normal ranges reported by various sources (Bezemer et al, 1983). It would be best to establish the normal range based on a population comparable to a group of individuals to whom the normal range is to serve as a norm.

  • Nerve gas sensor based on tin oxide was fabricated and its characteristics were examined. Target gas is dimethyl methyl phosphonate(C$_3$ $H_{9}$ $O_3$P, DMMP) that is simulant gas of nerve gas. Sensing materials were Sn $O_2$ added a-Al$_2$ $O_3$ with 0∼20wt.% and were physically mixed each material. They were deposited by screen printing method on alumina substrate. The sensor device was consisted of sensing electrode with interdigit(IDT) type in front and a heater in back side. Total size of device was 7${\times}$10${\times}$0.6㎣. Crystallite size & phase identification and morphology of fabricated Sn $O_2$ powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and by a scanning electron microscope, respectively. Fabricated sensor was measured as flow type and resistance change of sensing material was monitored as real time using LabVIEW program. The best sensitivity was 75% at adding 4wt.% $\alpha$-Al$_2$ $O_3$, operating temperature 30$0^{\circ}C$ to DMMP 0.5ppm. Response and recovery time were about 1 and 3min., respectively. Repetition measurement was very good with $\pm$3% in full scale.TEX>$\pm$3% in full scale.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this prospective case-control study was to survey the detection rate of respiratory viruses in children with Kawasaki disease (KD) by using multiplex reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and to investigate the clinical implications of the prevalence of respiratory viruses during the acute phase of KD. Methods: RT-PCR assays were carried out to screen for the presence of respiratory syncytial virus A and B, adenovirus, rhinovirus, parainfluenza viruses 1 to 4, influenza virus A and B, metapneumovirus, bocavirus, coronavirus OC43/229E and NL63, and enterovirus in nasopharyngeal secretions of 55 KD patients and 78 control subjects. Results: Virus detection rates in KD patients and control subjects were 32.7% and 30.8%, respectively (P=0.811). However, there was no significant association between the presence of any of the 15 viruses and the incidence of KD. Comparisons between the 18 patients with positive RT-PCR results and the other 37 KD patients revealed no significant differences in terms of clinical findings (including the prevalence of incomplete presentation of the disease) and coronary artery diameter. Conclusion: A positive RT-PCR for currently epidemic respiratory viruses should not be used as an evidence against the diagnosis of KD. These viruses were not associated with the incomplete presentation of KD and coronary artery dilatation.
