The purpose of this paper is to analyze the organizational design and management of product development in creating new product architecture by an established firm. For the purpose, the paper put up the organizational design in the process of PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) development of Sharp and Casio which were Japanese major PDA firms in 1990s. PDA is the product born through architectural change from Electronic Organizer. Prior research on the product architecture change and organizational adaptation emphasized that an established firm is difficult to adapt to new product architecture due to the restriction of prior technology or organizational inertia. For overcoming these problems and successful development of new product architecture, organizational design and management in the process of product development becomes essential. In case of Sharp, corporate development project team had been used to overcome the restrictions from architectural knowledge accumulated through previous product. After launching first new PDA by corporate development project team, Sharp created a new division and pushed an evolution of PDA, when new PDA market start to grow up rapidly toward a major market segmentation. As a result, Sharp was able to build up stable PDA project trajectory. However, Casio was late for three years in launching of new PDA architecture because previous division charging of Electronic Organizer tried to develop first new PDA. Casio's PDA development was prohibited by engineers of previous division because new PDA architecture was inferior on user interface and display definition. That is, Casio's first PDA development was restricted by architectural knowledge of previous product.

The technology of speech recognition has a wide field of application. The range of such technology is spreading into mobile computing having the large amount of movement for communication equipments at the present time. Particularly, recognition in internet environment is rapidly moving into mobile environment. Because of these environments, users want the faster speed of data transmission and the lighter portable equipment for data access. That is PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). Therefore, we designed a triphone-based text independent vocabulary recognizer for the implementation of speech control in this paper. The text independent vocabulary recognizer is based on the state .joint algorithm with decision trees

This paper is aimed at investigating the influence of the fit between PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) driven mobile technology and tasks on performance. Our research motive was adopted from the burgeoning mobile technology which can be easily observed in modem management. Fit theory has been widely applied to proved the relationship between technology and tasks. However, there are few studies about the fit between mobile technology and tasks. A the advent of the IT, mobile technology started to affect individuals' lifestyle as well as the management style of firms. For the purpose of proving those hypotheses, we collected 173 questionnaires from 20 firms such as manufacturing industry, financial business, service company, telecommunication company which deem using the PDA technology for their management. We applied factor analysis and path analysis for our experiments Results revealed that the mobile technology holds a statistically significant fit with tasks and Individual characteristics.

비즈니스 전략 및 환경이 정적인 환경에서 동적인 환경으로 변화의 필요성이 요구되는 유비쿼터스 환경에 제공되는 서비스가 언제, 어디서나, 쉽게 접근하기 위한 이동성을 제공하기 위한 기술로 모바일 서비스의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 현재 웹 서비스에서 사용하고 있는 요청-응답방식의 모바일 환경에서 일관성을 유지하기 힘들다. 서비스 지향 아키텍처를 기반으로 이동성을 고려한 아키텍처를 정의할 필요가 있다. 따라서 에이전트 컴퓨팅 아키텍처에 의해 상호운영성이 높은 모바일 에이전트 컴퓨팅을 통하여 모바일 환경에서 사용자의 접근을 용이하게 하고 컴포넌트를 이용한 개발의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 정의된 모바일 에이전트 컴퓨팅 아키텍처에 기반으로 하여 다양한 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) 서비스들 중 하나를 사례연구로 들어 분석 및 설계를 한다. 그리고 컴포넌트 기반한 모바일 에이전트를 통해 모바일 환경에서 PDA를 통한 컨텐츠 서비스가 원할히 되는 효율성을 기대하게 된다.

As Information communication technology develops, requirements for new educational media and new contents gets bigger and bigger. Especially PDA is required for educational media on m-learning environment. We design and implement intra-educational contents sequencing model and educational contents sequencing model between educational contents for PDA as educational supplementary media for m-learning environment, and LMS supporting PDA. And we balanced the work load of PDA and LMS and constructed practical service platform for using PDA as educational supplementary device.

Self management of chronic asthma is of great importance, since the disease could lead the patient into an emergent situation. In the present study, we describe design and implementation of a personal digital assistant(PDA) based asthma management system for personal application including symptom and medication to prevent from the potential exac-erbation of the disease. The software program was written by the Visual C++ tool in the mobile computing environment and Object Store was applied for data management. User friendly GUI environment was provided for the patient to input his/her daily condition and self treatment such as medication for suc-cessful management. The input screen design substituted for keyboard input to a mouse in order to easy to select an item and minimize the keyboard input. The implementation results of this system., Real-time data collection and process were possible and be able to have been carried effectively out a continuous symptom, a medication of asthma patients, risk management.

Handset 을 통한 m-Commerce 시장의 확장과 더불어 커머스를 기반으로 한 물류서비스, 무선 인트라넷, 모바일 증권거래 등에 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)를 정보단말로 이용하는 서비스가 늘어나면서 PDA 무선 보안솔루션 개발에 관련된 관심이 잇따르고 있다. 특히 PDA 무선 보안솔루션은 무선 PKI를 비롯해 암호화 솔루션, 백신, 파이어월 등 다양한 분야에서 독특한 기술이 개발되고 있으며 보안분야의 새로운 시장을 형성할 것으로 기대된다. PDA 무선 보안 솔루션은 증권, 뱅킹 등에서 시도되어지고 있는 Application layer 에서 암호/복호화 하는 방식, 유선과 동일하게 브라우저/ 웹서버에서 제공하는 SSL 암호화 방식, SSL v3 및 TLS v1 과 호환되는 자체 암호화 모듈 방식등의 3 가지로 크게 나누어 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 WinCE OS 의 iPaq PDA 에 SSL v3 및 TLS v1 과 호환되는 자체 암호화 모듈 방식의 시스템을 설계한다. PDA 와 서버 간의 인증, 메시지 기밀성 및 무결성을 충족시킬 수 있는 보안 서비스를 제공하고 유선과 동일한 수준의 보안 수준을 유지하면서도 지금까지 무선 암호인증의 문제점이었던 소용량 무선단말기의 한계를 극복하는 PDA 용 무선 보안 솔루션을 설계하는데 목적을 두고 있다.

인터넷 사용이 보편화됨에 따라 컴퓨터뿐만 아니라 휴대폰이나 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) 등의 모바일 디바이스를 사용한 인터넷 이용이 증가하고 있는 추세이다[l]. 이에 웹상에서 제공받던 교육용 컨텐츠를 모바일상에서 제공해야 하는 필요성이 대두되었다. 교육용 모바일 컨텐츠는 사용자에게 유익한 정보를 편리하게 제공할 뿐만 아니라 신속하고 정확하게 제공하는 장점이 있다[2]. 본 논문에서는 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)을 기반으로 하여 다운로드 솔루션을 채택한 GVM(General Virtual Machine)상에서 실행되는 교육용 모바일 옥편을 설계하고 MoibleC를 사용하여 제작하였다. 또한, 제작 과정을 통해 단말기의 제한적 환경에서 교육용 컨텐츠의 효과적인 개발 모델을 제시해 보고자 한다.

이동전화, PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) 등과 같은 개인 이동 단말기 보급의 증가 추세와 더불어 무선 환경에서의 인터넷 접속에 대한 요구가 증가 하고 있다. Mobile IP(Internet Protocol)는 무선 환경에서의 인터넷 접속을 지원하고, 단말의 이동성을 보장 하는 기술이다. 현재의 Mobile IP에서는 핸드오프 시 패킷 데이터 유실이 발생 하고 이러한 패킷 데이터 유실 방지를 위하여 별도의 메커니즘 적용에 따른 시간 지연이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 서비스에서의 IP 패킷 데이터 핸드오버 시 패킷 데이터 유실 방지와 패킷 데이터의 순서 뒤바뀜 방지를 위한 방법을 제시한다.

In this paper, we implement a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)-based audiometric system in order to estimate hearing threshold by adopting both pure-tone sound and speech audiometric test system. To estimate a subject's hearing threshold in an ambulatory audiometric test environment, an efficient sound calibration scheme between a PDA and a headphone device is proposed by appling polynomial fitting algorithms in 8-banded frequency ranges.
