  • 본 논문에서는 Brushless DC Motors(이하 BLDC Motor이라 함)의 비대칭 영구자석 오버행 구조에 의한 Z축 방향 추력, 진동 특성을 연구하였다 무부하인 경우에는 Z축방향 추력이 일정하므로 베어링에 하중으로만 작용하여 진동은 발생하지 않는다. 그러나 코일전류가 증가할수록 코일전류에 의한 증자, 감자작용으로 인하여 자속에 리플이 발생하며 Z축 방향 추력도 리플은 물론 진동이 발생한다. 따라서, 븐 연구에서는 전기자 전류 변화에 따른 자속밀도 및 Z축 방향 추력 특성을 해석하였으며 이를 실험치와 비교하였다.

  • The increment of electric power demand causes interest on new higher power system such as 42V Power Net, and furthermore necessity for development of energy storage device is highlighted recently. Owing to high efficiency and easy speed control of brushless DC(BLDC) motor, the demand of BLDC motor that has high power and low noises are increasing. Especially demand of interior permanent magnet(IPM) type BLDC with high efficiency and high power in electric motion vehicle is increasing. This paper presents the design of the BLBC motor for EHPS(Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering) in 42V system and verified the characteristics by simulation and test results.

Rotor Position Detection of CPPM Belt Starter Generator with Trapezoidal Back EMF using Six Hall Sensors

  • Six-step commutation control widely used in brushless DC (BLDC) motor can be applied to consequent pole permanent magnet (CPPM) belt starter generator (BSG) with trapezoidal back electromotive force (EMF) in the starter state. However, rotor position detection with three Hall sensors in BLDC motor can hardly be employed in CPPM BSG due to asymmetric flux distribution in each pole side of CPPM BSG. This paper presents a low-cost rotor position detection method for CPPM BSG in which six Hall sensors are proposed to be used based on the analysis of flux distribution by 3D FEA. In the method, the six Hall sensors are divided into three groups and two signals in each group are combined through performing logic operations. In addition, offset angle between back EMF and the related Hall signal can be compensated by moving the Hall sensors. Experiments of a 2 kW CPPM BSG prototype have also been performed to verify the proposed method.

  • 본 논문에서는 Brushless DC Motors(이하 BLDC Motor이라 함)의 영구 자석의 오버행에 따른 진동, 소음 특성에 대하여 다루었다. 비대칭 오버행 구조에서는 Z축 방향 힘이 발생한다. 이는 베어링에 손상을 입힐 뿐 아니라 큰 노이즈와 진동을 유발시킨다. 따라서 진동과 소음의 감소를 위한 자석 오버행 효과 해석이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 비대칭 영구 자석 오버행 효과를 해석하고 BLDC Motor에서 발생하는 소음과 진동을 분석하였고 비대칭 영구 자석 오버행 효과를 고려하여 Z축 방향의 영향력을 계산하기 위하여 3차원 유한요소법(3D FEM)을 사용하였다.

  • Vibration, giving rise to acoustical noise, is an important index of motor performance. The unbalance force due to rotor eccentricity caused by manufacturing imprecision or bearing defects is one possible source of excitation to vibration. With the advent of new high-energy magnetic material together with high precision motor applications, magnetic sources of vibration are becoming more serious. This paper introduces two types of high-speed slotless permanent magnet (PM) machine for electro-mechanical battery and investigates unbalance force due to static eccentricity with finite element method.

  • This paper proposes an early diagnosis technique for the stator-turn fault (STF) in an interior permanent magnet (IPM)-type brushless DC (BLDC) motor using the impedance parameter. We have analyzed the varying characteristics owing to the STF through various experiments and the finite element method (FEM). As a result, we have presented a simple method for fault detection. This technique can be applied without requiring a fast Fourier transform (FFT) and the calculation of the negative-sequence impedance. The fault detection system works on the basis of the comparison the measured impedance with the database impedance. The variations in the characteristics owing to the STF as well as the proposed technique have been verified through the simulation and experiment.

  • This paper is analyzed the characteristic of multi-phase inverter for the electric propulsion system. Two BLDC motors with 3 and 7 phases are designed with these features in order to simulate the effect of increasing the number of phases. From the simulation results, the 7-phase given better performance in terms of torque pulsation. Also, the torque pulsation can be reduced further by increasing the number of phases.

  • This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of a linear brushless DC(BLDC) motor with permanent magnet excitation for the precision conveyor according to the load condition. In order to investigate the accurate dynamic performance of tile linear BLDC motor driving with 6 step inverter- fed, finite element techniques coupling with external circuit models, together with the simultaneous simulation of motion of the mover system, arc proposed. The results of finite element analysis arc compared to the experimental ones.

  • This paper proposes the optimal design of stator shape for cogging torque reduction of single-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor with asymmetric notch. This method applied size and position of asymmetric notches to tapered teeth of stator for single-phase BLDC motor. Which affects the variation of the residual flux density of the permanent magnet. The process of optimal design included the extraction of the sampling point by using Latin Hypercube Sampling(LHS), and involved the creation of an approximation model by using kriging method. Also, the optimum point of the design variables were discovered by using the Genetic Algorithm(GA). Finite element analysis was used to calculate the characteristics analysis and cogging torque. As a result of finite element analysis, cogging torque were reduced approximately 39.2% lower than initial model. Also experimental result were approximately 38.5% lower than initial model. The period and magnitude of the cogging torque were similar to the results of FEA.

  • This paper describes independent phase BLDC motor with a maximum torque among BLDC motor used for electric propulsion system Independent phase BLDC motor has characteristic that phases of stator we independent electrically. This paper is modeling two type of 3 phases BLDC motors, one has Y-connection type and the other has independent type, and it shows simulation of them, compares its characteristics. As a result of simulation, phase voltage of independent 3 phase BLDC motor is higher than Y-connection three phase BLDC motor. When the stator resistance and inductance are stable, high phase voltage causes an increase in maximum phase current and an increases in it serially causes an increase of maximum torque. It is also found that the current pulsation of independent phase BLDC motor was decreased by controlling phase current of independent BLDC motor.
